  • This paper presents a static analysis based on set-based framework which estimates exception propagation paths of Java programs, and a visualization tool which visualizes propagation paths of exceptions using the static analysis information. We have implemented the exception propagation analysis and a visualization tool, which can guide programmers to handle exceptions more effectively.

  • Online recruitment websites discuss job demands in various fields, and job postings contain detailed job specifications. Analyzing this text can elucidate the features that determine job salaries. Text embedding models can learn the contextual information in a text, and explainable artificial intelligence frameworks can be used to examine in detail how text features contribute to the models' outputs. We collected 733,625 job postings using the WORKNET API and classified them into low, mid, and high-range salary groups. A text embedding model that predicts job salaries based on the text in job postings was trained with the collected data. Then, we applied the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) framework to the trained model and discovered the significant words that determine each salary class. Several limitations and remaining words are also discussed.

  • Based upon the assumption that both theory building and theory use are intertwined to construct a cohesive body of knowledge in the filed, this study attempts to identify the state of theoretical framework by examining the number and the quality of theoretical articles by subfield. Theoretical article is characterized as an incident in which in which the author contributes to the development or the use of theory in his/her own paper. Theoretical incidents were identified by a content analysis of 1,661 articles in four LIS journals from 1984 to 2003. The findings suggest that the four subfields, such as information seeking/use, information retrieval, library management, and scholar communication had great contributions to both theory building and theory use. Also, two research areas such as bibliometrics and professionals are very likely to be theoretical. Further, the analysis of the name of theories used by subfields could give an insight into the understanding of how the theoretical frameworks of each subfield are related.

  • While knowledge management (KM) needs to be introduced in order to enhance the competitiveness of Korean firms, most of the current literature focuses on defining the concept of KM and developing its framework. This research attempts to develop an introduction methodology of KM, based on four dimensions such as organization, information technology, process, and culture. The methodology was applied to firm L, which recently adopted KM. A result from the analysis of this case study shows that firm L performed well in the dimensions of organization, information technology, and culture.

  • Contrary to the popular view that dative is idiosyncratic to verbs or particular theta roles, the distribution of dative is predictable from the distribution of other cases like nominative, accusative, instrumental, etc. That is, dative behaves like an unmarked or elsewhere choice for Non-Actor/Non-Patient (=NANP) roles. This paper develops a theory of semantic structural case under the framework of conceptual semantics (Jackendoff 1983, 1990, 1997, 2002). In my proposed analysis, dative is structurally mapped onto NANP entities in the conceptual structure. Important consequences about other peripheral roles are discussed in section 5.

  • Library authorities are responsible for allocating its resources to best achieve library goals. This means the question of benefits and costs for library activities, as well as a n.0, pplication of economic theory to it. To consider these, this study dealt with theoretical analysis: 1) the nature of economic models, 2) economic theory to library activities, 3) and its a n.0, pplicability. However, economic model method allows us to use an analytic technique that is founded on library production and consumption. Thus, its major contribution is creation of a framework or system for maximizing the efficient library activities.

  • In the literature, the general framework of competitive forces has been used extensively to analyze industries in the traditional economy. More specifically, the model has been used to develop strategies for companies in various sectors. The general model can also be used to analyze the use of information technology to enhance competitive advantage. This paper extends the conceptual model to the Internet environment. For concreteness, the concepts are examined in the context of the health care industry. In addition, a comparative analysis is performed to examine the similarities and differences in providing merchandise or services in cyberspace.

  • In this paper, we investigate the various opportunities of women informatization, which we believe to be major contributors for the high quality of life for women. We first justify various efforts for women informatization, which needs to be based on the analysis of the problems and the status quo. We have also examined the related government policies and programs as well as the programs of non-profit organizations for woman, and identified key problems areas. Integrating the results from this analysis, we have developed the vision and the framework for women informatization. We also give a list of strategic alternatives for improving quality of life through informatization, and promoting full-time housewives to become aggressive information users, information producers and information specialists. We use the expert Delphi method and fish-bone chart analysis to generate the priorities of specific tasks and target-based strategies for successful implementation of women informatization. We conclude this paper with various recommendations for empowering women to enjoy high-quality living through the process of informatization.

  • The aims of this study are to review the changes and trends of information literacy standards in higher education in the U.S. and the U.K.; to examine British SCONUL's two information literacy standards which were announced in 1999 and in 2011 respectively; and to compare and analyze the two information literacy standards (i.e., Core Model and Research Lens) which were released by SCONUL in 2011. By employing the research methods of literature review and content analysis, this study tries to find the implications that may be used as a basic data when the country's relevant institutions plan to consider the information literacy standards in higher education in the near future.

  • The analysis on the relationships among SPI models and restructuring SPI models according to a common framework makes it possible to compare and integrate the numerous research results about the models. It also makes it possible to assess objectively and accurately the results and benefits of evaluating an organization which has been evaluated according to a partial SPI model according to a new and integrated SPI model.
