This research was to describe the organizational safety climate, to examine its implication, and to improve the strategies of industrial accident prevention in chemical industry in Korea. The subjects were 207 directors of department of safety in chemical industry, asked to respond questionnaire sent by mailing. The data in this research were analyzed by SPSS PC＋. The results were as follows ： 1) 24.2％ of surveyed chemical industry had department of safety. 2) 53.6％ of suueyed chemical industry had safety education program. 3) 53％ of employees in surveyed chemical industry were satisfied with supply of personal protective equipments.

Steel industry in Korea is a key national industry that has led economic growth for a long time. And accidents occurred from a variety of causes has endlessly made as much as remarkable achievements of steel industry. It is a fact that research achievements of disaster prevention in steel industry has not been significantly, compared to production technique achievements. And the level of interest on safety management in the steel industry is conspicuously low. Although support activity for a various safety management are provided reasonably to prevent disasters occurring with subcontractors. A method capable of quantitative evaluation, applied to subcontractors in most business places are relatively rare except parent firms-leading places. This study is to make and show safety management activities to purcue in advance in conjunction with a parent firm through development of a more systematic and quantitative evaluation model for disaster prevention with steel industry subcontractors, and to contribute to disaster prevention in domestic steel industry through advanced safety management method, by applying a proposed evaluation model of safety management activities as subcontractors in steel industry.

This study compared data regarding industrial accidents and awareness level for beauty product safety for four main parts of beauty industry such as hair-care, nail-care, skin-care, and make-up. Major risk factors in beauty industry are dust, musculoskeletal disorders, and organic solvent of beauty product in order of percentage. The specific types of industrial accidents in beauty industry are mainly associated with musculoskeletal system such as cuts, sprain, and varicose vein. They are mainly compensated by personal budget. The awareness levels of chemical and heavy metal containment for beauty product by beauty industry employee were 77.2% and 59.1% respectively. Most employee confirmed only important items of labelling requirement of beauty product. Also, most employee did not understand MSDS(Materila Safety Data) for chemicals used in beauty industry. Only 38.1% of beauty industry employee has had safety education while most employee (73.6%) realized that they needed safety education. Also, safety education supervised by KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency) was the most preferred. This study would be good basis for safe and healthy working environment of beauty industry employee.

Logistics has been recognized as a growing industry in Korea. Accidents in Korean logistics industry are listed up in this paper. As accidents in Korean Logistic industry increasing rapidly, lots of researches on the safety management in logistics industry are published. We surveyed those Korean research papers including supply chain management. Research papers are classified by logistics function and logistics area. Some logistics area still have not been researched on safety management.

In manufacturing industry of the modem industrial society, people increasingly become concerned the awareness of safety increasingly although they have regarded production the most important factor. Even though, as people make efforts on accident preventions, the number of accidents is decreasing, fatal major industry accidents are rather thanincreasing so that the number of deaths has not decreased. Under these conditions, there is an attempt to introduce and perform the process safety management system as a means for keeping from major industry accidents. However, it leaves to be desired on the methods of measuring process safety in the general manufacturing industry, while it is available to do that in the chemistry industry. Therefore, in this paper, we analysis processes of manufacturing industry in safety point of view and suggest the technique efficiently measuring and managing each process. Proposed the technique shows that the specification on safety determines AHP weight through the managers of firms and each process is suggested by using normalized matrix.

Recently, the importance of analytical techniques related to food safety is emerging in the food industry due to changes in diet patterns, environmental changes, climate change and consumer's interest in food safety. In particular, food safety accidents in the food industry may cause economic losses such as media reports, product recalls, consumer distrust, and so on. Therefore, a systematic, proactive and comprehensive food safety management system is increasingly required to prevent food safety issues. Efforts to ensure the reliability of food safety are essential by introducing various analysis instruments such as LC, GC, ICP, LC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, ICP/MS, PCR, and RT-PCR. In addition, recent food safety analytical techniques used in food industry should be shifted paradigm by developing multi-component simultaneous analytical method, low cost with high efficient analytical method, and eco-friendly method.

This article has compared the level of activities of occupational safety and health in workplace among sub-sectors of manufacturing industry in order to set the priority for policy intervention. Data of manufacturing industry in the survey on the current status of occupational safety and health was used with factor analysis and radar graphic method. Authors have categorized sub-sectors of manufacturing industry into four categories, attained group, active group, neglected group, and passive group based on injury rate, level of safety and health activities. The neglected group may be the first target group for occupational safety and health policy guiding some detailed occupational safety and health activities. Limitation of this study is that cross sectional data was analyzed. The long term effect could not be analyzed.

Objective:The purpose of this study is to suggest the methodology for establishment of safety culture in industry. Background: There have been studies indicating positive relation between safety culture and safety performance. But the areas of those efforts have been mainly focused on elements or factors consisting of safety culture. So it is expected that studies on methodologies for developing process of the culture could contribute for the industry to understand and apply it accordingly in order to improve their practices. Method: In this study, the scope was considered just for industry, even though there are many fields of culture. As the first step, the limitations of regulatory control and efforts by industry were reviewed, and the trends of researches were presented. In the second step, the global company practices were provided with detailed activities. Results: This paper showed the limitations of present state in government strategies and industry for safety culture improvement. Also the restricted areas in researches were shown. As one of the solutions to resolve those things, such global company practices as perception to safety journey, the steps of culture development, total safety philosophy, structure and elements of safety process, standards and procedures, training, and up to keys to success were suggested. Conclusion: Through this study, the development of the structure of safety process which consists of many purposeful activities has been derived to be very important. Because it will be the seeds of safety culture expressing their thinking process and behaviors. Also it is required to approach success step by step according to the achievement of each step. Application: This study can be used to develop the methodology and safety process in industry with different viewpoints for safety culture establishment.

The manufacturing industry is the one with the most frequent industrial disasters, and it is important to study the safety climate recognized by workers in the industry in order to actively prevent industrial accidents. However, little research has been performed on the safety climate in workplaces felt by the workers in the manufacturing industry. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting work environment safeness based on practical analysis via survey, and to establish the relation between safety performance factors and safeness of work environment. The survey was performed for workers in the manufacturing industry(n=228), and structural equations model analysis by using the AMOS 7.0 was performed in order to identify the fit of the research model and the causation among factors. According to the results of the analysis, the reliability and the model fit were appropriate for interpretation, and safety participation was shown to affect safeness of work environment more than safety compliance. The results of this study may serve as the reference for taking a measure to improve the level of safeness of the work environment felt by workers in the manufacturing industry.

The large-sized, complex, and multi-storied construction industry caused the increasing construction amount together with insufficient skilled workers to increase the probability of occurring accident, resulting in the most construction accidents next to manufacturing industry. Death accidents have risen to serious level, compared construction industry with manufacturing industry along the numbers of workers. Due to the main feature of one-time industry receiving orders, open-air dispersed production activity and the long-complex production process, the continuous efforts to prevent and manage safety accidents were made but the results were of no effect. They didn't deeply analyze the falling accidents that consist of half death accidents in construction industry. This study has classified in detail Missteps, Slip, Trip, Unstability and the others on the basis of gait characteristics, occurrence types, frequency and intensity of death accidents. This study suggested the effective methods on the construction safety management according to the causes of falling accidents. This study will be expect to be used as the basic data in the procedure and the program of safety management.
