A Study on The Utility Estimation about Employment of The Disabled (AHP를 이용한 장애인고용의 효용성평가 연구)

  • It is expected that the change of industrial structure of Knowledge based economy, and service based economy would affect on economic life of physically-challenged person with no exceptions. There have been some former studies which have been misunderstood the employment of disabled due to the declining employment of the disabled and prejudice to the disabled based on biased perspective and public opinion. This study have analyzed the employment conditions of the ordinary workers and disabled workers out of those prejudices and biased opinions. Wage, economic activity ratio, age, educational background and industry those 5 parameters are brought for analyzing the two comparison group. Each parameter have compared based on the statistical data of ordinary workers and disabled workers for past 7 years. Weight between each parameter have been drawn by collecting the experts' opinion using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), and utility of employment of two comparison groups have been estimated through progress inclination of each parameter. Through the estimated outcome, present condition and controversial issues and way of improvement of domestic employment of ordinary workers and the disabled is mentioned.

  • This study investigates what effects employment flexibility have on the business performance in the computer programming, system consultancy and related services. An analysis of the effects of employment flexibility on outcomes of human resource management revealed that companies which had a higher proportion of temporary agency workers and adjusted employment more frequently had higher turnover rates. The study also showed that the higher the proportion of non-regular workers, outsourcing and the easier it was to adjust working hours, the higher the absence rate. Meanwhile, companies that made employment adjustments more often showed higher defect rates and lower customer satisfaction. It was also found that in companies with a higher proportion of outsourcing and higher possibility of employment adjustments, workers were less interested in new technologies.

  • In this study, we have measured the effects on production inducement, added value inducement, employment inducement and backward and forward linkage regarding the knowledge service industry in Korea. It turns out that the knowledge service industry greatly contributes to increase of added value and employment creation while highly withholds to effect on production inducement and backward and forward linkage effects. In recent, government seeks out new growth driver out of the knowledge service industry. We have found the fact that its direction should be 'production growth of the knowledge service industry' through this study.

The Effects of Energy Price Increase on Automobile Industry (에너지가격 상승이 자동차산업에 미치는 영향)

  • This article analyzes the effects of energy price increase induced by GHGs mitigation policy on automobile industry empirically. An increase in energy price due to GHGs mitigation policy does not have a significant effect on the production and the value-added in automobile industry. Electricity price has a negative effect on the production and the value-added in automobile industry, but it is not significant. However, employment is significantly affected by a change in electricity price. Export is also affected negatively, but the effect is insignificant. These results imply that GHGs mitigation policy such as carbon tax might affect adversely the employment in automobile industry. Especially, their effects on employment are significant. Therefore, some moderating measures to relieve the adverse effects on employment in automobile industry should be called upon with the implementation of GHGs mitigation policy.

Effect of Employment Stress on Cosmetology Students Occupation Decision and Job Hunting Behavior (미용 전공 대학생의 취업스트레스가 진로결정 및 취업준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for career guidance to cosmetology students by examining the effects of job stress on career decisions and job preparation behaviors. Overall 214 parts were empirically analyzed as final samples. Collected data and statistical processing are based on SPSS ver. Analysis was performed using the 21.0 program. An analysis of the effect of job stress on career decision showed that employment anxiety (β= .206, p<.05), job anxiety(β=.824, p<.05), and anxiety in career search(β=.118, p<.05) showed a statistically significant effect(+). However, employment concerns(β=-.312, p<.001) in career determination and employment concerns(β=-.223, p<.01) in career search are statistically significant parts(-). An analysis of the effect of employment stress on employment preparation behavior found that employment anxiety(β=.364, p<.05) has a statistically significant effect(+) on information use preparation, It was found that the statistically significant part(-) affects employment anxiety(β=-.188, p<.01). The study found that the more anxious cosmetology students are about employment, the more they plan and explore career options, and make information-based preparations for employment. Through this research, we hope that there will be lively discussions among cosmetology students on career adaptability, life satisfaction, and employment anxiety.

A Research on the Sexual Discrimination Level of Woman Employee in the Hotel Industry (호텔기업 여성종사원의 성차별 인식에 대한 조사)

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the sexual discrimination level of woman employee in hotel industry. This research was based on a survey. The survey was conducted on 130 individuals who were working in hotels in Seoul. With collected data, regression analysts, T-Test and analysis of variances were utilized using SAS program. The results showed that there were no evidences of sexual discrimination among tile individuals' educational levels and the departments. Whereas, there were evidences of sexual discrimination, sexual harassment. discrimination against employment, and workload among the position levels within a corporation. Finally. the analysis showed that there were sexual discrimination in a promotion policy. retirement policy. workload. and employment during employment period. However, there were no evidences of sexual discrimination in ether areas.

The effects of UIC Cooperation Programs on Youth Employment (정부 산학연협력 지원의 고용효과 분석)

  • In the rapid trend of social change, such as the 4th industrial revolution and the realignment of job structures, university-industry cooperation(UIC) is emphasized as a key factor in enhancing national competitiveness. The level of UIC in Korea is insufficient compared to national competitiveness, and despite the world-class R&D investment, there is a lack of linkage between the result of technology development and the industrial field, and the knowledge-transfer between university and industry is also insufficient. This paper analyzed the employment effects of UIC program supported by government, especially youth employment effects. The companies participating in the UIC program showed higher employment effect than the non-participating companies. In addition, the result of examining the employment growth rate of participating companies only for projects aimed at 'education and human resource development', show that employment growth rate after one year (total, youth employment) was significantly higher than that of non-participating companies, while employment growth after two years was not significant. UIC program need to have sustainability and systemicity so that they can be directly linked to the employment effects.

Machine Learning Prediction of Economic Effects of Busan's Strategic Industry through Ridge Regression and Lasso Regression (릿지 회귀와 라쏘 회귀 모형에 의한 부산 전략산업의 지역경제 효과에 대한 머신러닝 예측)

  • This paper analyzes the machine learning predictions of the economic effects of Busan's strategic industries on the employment and income using the Ridge Regression and Lasso Regression models with regulation terms. According to the Ridge estimation and Lasso estimation models of employment, the intelligence information service industry such as the service platform, contents, and smart finance industries and the global tourism industry such as MICE and specialized tourism are predicted to influence on the employment in order. However, the Ridge and Lasso regression model show that the future transportation machine industry does not significantly increase the employment and income since it is the primitive investment industry. The Ridge estimation models of the income show that the intelligence information service industry and global tourism industry are also predicted to influence on the income in order. According to the Lasso estimation models of income, four strategic industries such as the life care, smart maritime, the intelligence machine, and clean tech industry do not influence the income. Furthermore, the future transportation machine industry may influence the income negatively since it is the primitive investment industry. Thus, we have to select the appropriate economic objectives and priorities of industrial policies.

Policy Suggestions to Retain Skilled Migrant Fishermen in Korea : Focus on Offshore Fishing (숙련 외국인 어선원 확보를 위한 제도 개선 방안 : 연근해 어업을 중심으로)

  • With the restriction of foreigners' entry into Korea due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fishery industry faced significant challenges in supplying migrant workers. In response to this, there is growing interest in methods that could facilitate the stable employment of migrant workers. This paper investigates whether the current system used for the employment of migrant workers in the fishery industry, which is highly dependent on them, adequately performs its function of providing a stable and skilled workforce amid the intensified labor shortage resulting from decreasing numbers of households with employment in the fishery and the aging Korean fishermen. To this end, past studies and government documents pertaining to the current system were analyzed, and a survey targeting the owners of offshore fishing boats that employ migrant workers was conducted. A total of 147 owners of fishing boats responded to the survey, and the data of 499 migrant workers employed by them were used for the analysis. The analysis indicated that the migrant fishermen had difficulty in acquiring minimum scores for the change of visa status according to the criteria for the Skilled Worker Points System. Furthermore, distinct differences were found between the characteristics and working conditions of migrant workers employed through the Employment Permit System (EPS) and the Foreign Seamen System. Based on this result, this paper suggests the reorganization of the skilled migrant worker system in the fishery industry and the expansion of the regional specialized visa pilot project.
