The purpose of this paper is to examine the structural change of Korean manufacturing industries and the differences of total factor productivity(TFP) between exporting industries and import substituting industries in Korean manufacturing industry from 1980 to 2013. The empirical results show that over half of total 13 industries have experienced changes of direction from import to export or export to import, which implies that there was a considerable structural change in Korean manufacturing industry. The output growth rates are higher in exporting industries than in import substituting industries. All industries employ more capital than labor during the period, which means that production methodology in Korean industries changes to a more capital intensive one. Finally, the growth rate of total factor productivity is higher in exporting industries than in import substituting industries, and it is also proved in panel regression analysis.

The importance of contents industry is growing up in various industries because of internet and digital economy. Recently, contents industry is challenging to new businesses such as total service industry with digital contents. It is important to classify digital contents to use it in contents industries and information and telecommunication service industries. Previous contents classification frameworks is based on contents quality, business model and application methods. They didn't consider business processes, interfaces of business unit and interactions in contents industries. In this paper, we present core business processes in digital contents industries, a corresponding digital contents classification, and analysis method of digital contents industry.

This study aims to evaluate and identify the Patterns of the technological competitiveness of the Korean industry. Such statistics as R&D expenditure and R&D manpower as input indexes, US patent registrations and export sales as output indexes were used. it was turned out that such industrial types as specialized-suppliers industries, scale-intensive industries and science-intensive industries showed relatively strong technical competitiveness. However, resource-intensive industries and labor-intensive industries which had maintained a competitive advantage in the 1970s and the 1980s appeared to be gradually losing their technological competitiveness. These results are by and large in accordance with the trends of export performance. This study conducted the canonical discriminant analysis in order to test the correctness of the patterns displayed in the technological competitiveness of the Korean industry. The result of the analysis showed that the five patterns of technical strength of the Korean industries are significantly independent each other for four respective variables which are used to distinguish industries. This implies that the ex ante industrial classification into five typers was correct in terms of the ex post statistics, and that the patterns of technological competitiveness discovered in this study are also statistically correct.

We report the syntheses, photophysical properties and device performances of solution processible host material for green-phosphorescent OLEDs. The butterfly-shaped new host materials with nonconjugated linkage of carbazole and fluorene moieties have large triple energy band gap around 2.8 eV. All of the EL devices exhibited turn-on voltages in the range of 4.8-5.0 V. GH-4 exhibited the best performance with a maximum current efficiency and power efficiency of 21.1 cd/A and 7.9 lm/W.

This paper presents recent trends on the on-line monitoring and diagnostic systems for oil-immersed transformers. Specially, our system on YeoSu thermal power plant is introduced for high sensitivity and accuracy of ours. It is combined with communication networks to provide an on-line remote monitoring system. Several alarm criteria are formulated to enable a superimposed monitoring system to perform decisive action. The reasons for monitoring the condition and maintaining the health of electrical apparatus were discussed. The experience at the fields and the criteria for the judgment are also discussed in detail.

The number of environment-related technologies has increased remarkably over the past two decades, as has the public's interest in effective resource use and ways to reduce the effects of global warming. Industries that are based on environment-related technologies are thus growing rapidly. Previous studies revealed that externalities derived from the population concentration in urban areas positively affect agglomerations of high-tech industries. Such externalities have been named the "knowledge spillover effect". The purposes of the present paper are to (1) give a thumbnail sketch of the locations of environment-related industries around the world, using the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development environment-related patent statistics, and (2) explicate the effects of the Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) and Jacobs externalities, which result from population concentrations in urban areas, on the agglomeration of environment-related industries in Sweden. The analysis revealed that environment-related industries are located chiefly in urban areas across the globe, and that only the MAR externalities influenced positively on the agglomeration of these industries in Sweden.

We have developed novel small molecular materials for solution phosphorescent OLEDs having multilayered device structures. These novel materials are applied as an interlayer which is between a buffer layer (or hole injection layer) and an emitting layer to improve the luminance efficiency of solution green phosphorescent OLEDs. In order to form stable double layers by spincoating process, we take the advantage of solubility differences of interlayer materials and emitting materials. Using CIM3 as an interlayer, we have attained the best luminance efficiency, 36 cd/A at a given constant of 2000cd/$m^2$ in the structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/CIM3/CIM6:Ir(mppy)$_3$/BAlq/Alq$_3$/LiF/Al.

In this paper, the insulation system of induction motor for subway traction was designed. In order to design the insulation system of induction motor, various types of insulation system were compared, at first, and test method was investigated in order to verify the designed insulation system. This paper presents the transient impedance behaviors of grounding systems to lightning impulse current. The potential rise and effective impulse ground impedance of the test grounding electrodes were measured as a function of the rise time of impulse currents and lengths of down conductor. The transient ground impedances strongly depend on the configuration and size of grounding electrodes, the impulse current shapes and lengths of down conductor, and the inductance of reduce of grounding electrode inductance is an important factor to improve the transient ground impedance.
