  • Recently BLE beacon has been widely used as a method for measuring the indoor location in the IoT Technique. But it requires a filtering technique for the measurement of the correct position. It is used the most fixed beacon. It is not accurate that calculates the position information through the identification of the beacon signal. Therefore, filtering is important. So it takes a lot of time, position measurement and filtering. Thus, we is to measure the exact position at the indoor using a mobile beacon. The measured beacon signal is composed of an ontology for reuse in the same pattern. RSSI is measured the receiver is the distance of the beacon. And this value configure the location ontology to be normalized by the relationship analysis between the values. The ontology is a method for calculating the position information of the moving beacon. It can detect fast and accurate indoor position information and provide the service.

  • Geofence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographical area, which could be statically or dynamically established the specified area if necessary. Many geofencing applications incorporate 2D(two-dimensional) map such as the Google map, allowing administrators to define boundaries on top of a satellite view of a specific geographical area. But these applications do not provide 3D(three-dimensional) spatial information as well as 2D location information no matter where indoor or outdoor. Therefore we propose a mechanism to identify indoor or outdoor location for 3D geofence, and implement 3D geofence using smartphone. The proposed mechanism identifies the position information on 3D geofence regardless of indoor or outdoor, inter-floor with only GPS and WiFi. In the near future, 3D geofence as well as LBS are promising applications that become possible when IoT can become organized and connected by location.

  • The LBS(Location Based Service) technology plays an important role in reducing wastes of time, losses of human lives and economic losses by detecting the user's location in order by suggesting the optimal evacuation route of the users in case of safety accidents. We developed an algorithm to estimate indoor location, movement path and indoor location changes of smart phone users based on the built-in sensors of smartphones and the dead-reckoning algorithm for pedestrians without a connection with smart devices such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Furthermore, seven different indoor movement scenarios were selected to measure the performance of this algorithm and the accuracy of the indoor location estimation was measured by comparing the actual movement route and the algorithm results of the experimenter(pedestrian) who performed the indoor movement. The experimental result showed that this algorithm had an average accuracy of 95.0%.

  • Indoor space is a new horizon of spatial information services. With recent progress of indoor positioning technologies and mobile devices such as smart phones, indoor spatial information services become available and an emerging market. Accordingly, exchanging and sharing indoor spatial information between independent services become an important issue. For this reason, a standardization working group, called IndoorGML has been launched last year in OGC with the aim of publishing IndoorGML standard by September, 2013. Its primary goal is to provide a framework for representing network topology in indoor space, which is a fundamental element of indoor LBS. In this paper, we will explain the basic concepts of indoorGML and discuss the modeling issues. And several application use-cases of IndoorGML will be also presented in this paper.

  • Recently, according to developing advanced construction technologies, buildings has been enlarged such as high-rise buildings or complex buildings associated with underground facilities. The number of indoor activity population has increased very quickly. Because of that, technical requirements for Indoor location based service (Indoor LBS) also have been increased. Although indoor networks have to be constructed for efficient LBSs in indoor space based on OGC IndoorGML, it is not suitable for large and complex space to apply the simple network structure to constructing indoor navigation networks. The indoor navigation network has to be constructed according to logical, physical, and functional constraints for indoor space. In order to do that, subspacing methods are required to partition large and complex indoor space into proper size of subspace. In this paper, we proposed the basic requirements of subspacing in indoor space for creating efficient indoor network, as well the work process of subspacing in indoor space.

  • Recently, location systems using RFID technology have been studied in indoor environments. However, the existing techniques require high computational cost to compute the location of a moving object because they compare the location proximity of all reference tags and objects. In this paper, we propose an RFID based location positioning scheme using event filtering, which reduces the computation cost of calculating the locations of moving objects while maintaining the accuracy of location estimation. In addition, we propose an incremental location update policy to reduce the location update cost for moving objects. We also compare the proposed scheme with one of the localization schemes, LANDMARC using a performance evaluation. As a result, the proposed scheme outperforms LANDMARC in terms of the computational cost of location estimation. The proposed scheme also reduces the cost of location update by using the RFID-based update policy.

  • With the development of ICT(Information and Communication Technology), the number of smart devices is rapidly increasing. LBS(Location Based Service) applications that provide user's location based service are used in various fields. There is also a growing demand for indoor precision positioning technology to provide seamless services. In this paper, we propose an indoor positioning system that estimates the location of a smartphone user. The proposed algorithm determines whether the received signal is LOS(Line-of-Sight) or NLOS(Non-Line of-Sight) in order to decrease multipath effect by the indoor environment. The proposed positioning algorithm is very simple and requires only the AP(Access Point) coordinates. In addition, it requires only two APs for estimating the location of a smartphone user. The proposed algorithm is a practically applicable technology without any additional hardware and kernel modification in the smartphone. In the experiment results, the reliability of the positioning system was found to be within 0.83 m.

  • The purpose of this paper is introducing WiFi based EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) method for indoor positioning. The advantages of our EKF method include: 1) Any special equipment dedicated for positioning is not required. 2) implementation of EKF does not require off-line phase of fingerprinting methods. 3) The EKF effectively minimizes squared deviation of the trilateration method. In order to experimentally prove the advantages of our method, we implemented indoor positioning systems making use of the K-NN(K Nearest Neighbors), Bayesian, decision tree, trilateration, and our EKF methods. Our experimental results show that the average-errors of K-NN, Bayesian and decision tree methods are all close to 2.4 meters whereas the average errors of trilateration and EKF are 4.07 meters and 3.528 meters, respectively. That is, the accuracy of our EKF is a bit inferior to those of fingerprinting methods. Even so, our EKF is accurate enough to be used for practical indoor LBS systems. Moreover, our EKF is easier to implement than fingerprinting methods because it does not require off-line phase.
