특수학교 보건교사의 돌봄 경험 (Experiences of School Health Teachers in Special Schools for Students with Disabilities)

  • Purpose: The gradual increase in the number of children with disabilities in Korea highlights the necessity for further research on the role of school health teachers in their care. This study explored the specific experiences of school health teachers in special schools through individual in-depth interviews. Methods: In this study, 11 school health teachers participated, and data were collected through individual in-depth interviews. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the collected data. Results: The experiences of health teachers at special schools were classified into 5 themes and 13 subthemes. These included "concerns about working in special schools and attachment after working," "management of diverse diseases and ongoing, careful observation," "ambivalence regarding students with disabilities," "competences needed to care for students with disabilities," and "enhancing care education for students with disabilities: demanding institutional support." Conclusion: Effective student health management depends on open communication channels and the establishment of strong connections among health teachers, school personnel, and parents of impaired students. To enhance the quality of care for children with disabilities, specialized education programs to improve teachers' healthcare competency should be developed. Additionally, specific guidelines for the range of medical treatments provided by health instructors, should be devised.

Optimal model of transportation for people with disabilities: Conceptual proposal designed in CAD

  • This study aimed to develop an optimal model of transportation for people with disabilities. To achieve this goal, powers of research and design should be involved, including CAD software. This paper investigates both: the concept of optimal model of transportation for people with disabilities (functional, ergonomic, constructive, technological and aesthetic solutions included); and its implementation as a fully-fledged 3D-model designed in SolidWorks environment. The optimal model of transportation is complex and consists of two objects. The first object is for indoors that is a wheelchair, the second one is for street driving that is an individual vehicle. The optimal model of transportation is universal and multifunctional, which have become possible with parametric feature-based approach utilized in SolidWorks.

감각통합치료적 접근에서의 부모교육 프로그램의 만족도 (The Parent Educational Program With a Sensory Integration Approach for Developmental Disabilities)

  • Objective : The purpose of this paper was to suggest a model of the parent educational program with a sensory integration approach for developmental disabilities. Methods : A questionnaire survey were conducted to investigate the needs of the parent educational program and the satisfaction on after of the parent educational program with sensory integration for developmental disabilities. The parent educational program was completed by 8 mothers and each one children with developmental disabilities ranging in age from five to six years for five weeks. The parent educational program with sensory integration approach were consisted of the lecture, an exploration group and individual counseling for parent and individual evaluation and treatment, and group treatment for children. Results : 1. In the needs of the parent education, 50% for active participation of parent and 40% for the understanding with children. 2. In the satisfaction for the parent educational program with sensory integration, 9.3/10point for a individual education with the home program, 9.0/10point for the understanding with children, 8.7/10point for the chance of a participation in sensory integration program, 6.7/10point for a individual treatment, 5.7/10point for a group treatment. Conclusion : The parent educational program with sensory integration suggest that its useful program to understanding their children and sensory integration for parent.

생태학적 이론에 근거한 성인 중도장애인의 장애수용 영향요인 (Influencing Factors on the Acceptance of Disabilities among Adults with Acquired Disabilities based on Ecological Theory )

  • 본 연구는 제4차 장애인삶 패널조사(2021년)의 원시자료를 활용하여 생태학적 이론에 근거하여 성인 중도장애인의 장애수용에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 위계적 다중회귀분석을 시행한 결과, 개인적 요인은 성별, 장애유형, 장애정도, 혼인상태, 학력, 일자리 유무, 우울, 자아존중감, 지난 6개월간 전반적인 건강상태, 개인 간 요인으로는 정서적 도움 및 지지, 조직·환경적 요인은 장애인관련 서비스이용의 어려움 정도, 장애인복지서비스 전반적 만족도가 성인 중도장애인의 장애수용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로, 성인 중도장애인의 장애수용을 높이기 위해서는 개인적 차원을 넘어 사회적 상호작용의 기회를 높이고, 장애인 친화 환경을 조성하는 지역사회의 노력이 필요함을 제언한다.

정신장애인 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Affecting Suicidal Ideation in People with Mental Disabilities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정신장애인의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 독립변수를 개인심리적요인, 사회적요인, 인구사회학적 특성으로 구분하여 분석을 실시하였다. 분석자료는 2017년 보건복지부 연구, '지역사회 정신장애인 현황조사'에 참여한 정신장애인 969명이다. 분석방법은 SPSS 23.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 개인심리적 요인에서는 우울이 높을수록, 정신건강자신감이 낮을수록 자살생각이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 요인에서는 미등록장애 집단일수록, 폭력 및 차별 경험에 많이 노출될수록, 대도시에 거주할수록 자살생각이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 이들 변수의 자살생각에 대한 설명력은 26.9%로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 도출한 정신장애인의 자살예방에 관한 실천적·정책적 함의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정신장애인의 자살생각을 감소시키는 정책과 개입 프로그램을 강구하는데 있어 개인심리적요소에만 초점을 두는 것이 아니라, 사회적요소를 같이 평가하고 고려해야 한다. 둘째, 정신장애인의 자살예방 정책을 강구하는데 있어, 폭력과 차별 경험을 감소시킬 수 있는 권익옹호서비스가 마련되어야 한다. 셋째, 정신장애인의 자살생각을 감소시키기 위해 정신장애등록 제도를 개편하여 정신적 어려움을 경험하고 있는 당사자들이 제도 안으로 포섭될 수 있는 정책적 대안을 강구되어야 한다.

  • In Korea, the elderly is defined as the person aged over 65 and the disabled is defined as the person who is registered with Ministry of Health and Welfare. In 2008, the elderly with disabilities was about 770,000. Korea was already poised for an aging society in 2000 and is ahead of and aged society in 2018 and a super aged society in 2026. So, the number of the elderly with disabilities will continue to grow. Various oral diseases can be seen in the elderly with disabilities due to the systemic disease and impaired self oral care, in addition to the physiological aging. Particularly, we should be care for the aspiration pneumonia, which is the major cause of the death of the elderly. As a professional for the special care dentistry, we should understand the general and dental, individual characteristics of the elderly with disabilities and do proper oral care and treatment. Thereby, the quality of life of the patients might be improved.

학습장애의 진단 평가와 교육학적 개입 (Diagnostic evaluation and educational intervention for learning disabilities)

  • Learning disabilities (LD), also known as learning disorders, refers to cases in which an individual experiences lower academic ability as compared to the normal range of intelligence, visual or hearing impairment, or an inability to peform learning. Children and adolescents with learning disabilities often have emotional or behavioral problems or co-existing conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, difficulties with peer relationships, family conflicts, and low self-esteem. In most cases, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder coexists. As learning disabilities have the characteristics of a difficult heterogeneous disease group that cannot be attributed to a single root cause, they are diagnosed based on an interdisciplinary approach through medicine and education, such as mental health medicine, education, psychology, special education, and neurology. In addition, for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities, the diagnosis, prescription, treatment, and educational intervention should be conducted in cooperation with doctors, teachers, and psychologists. The treatment of learning disabilities requires a multimodal approach, including medical and educational intervention. It is suggested that educational interventions such as the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and the Response to Invention (RTI) should be implemented.

Reliability and Validity of the CAP for Computer Access Assessment of Persons with Physical Disabilities

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a computer access assessment tool for persons with physical disabilities and to evaluate reliability and validity. Methods: We developed a computerized Computer access Assessment Program (CAP) through many kinds of literature review and tools analysis for evaluation of computer access, task analysis of fundamental input devices operation and expert review. The CAP data were obtained from 105 normal university students and 16 students with physical disabilities. The test items of CAP are composed of four timed mouse tasks, four timed keyboard tasks, and a timed scanning task. Thus, the software measures user performance in skills needed for computer interaction, such as keyboard and pointer use, navigating through menus, and scanning. To determine the validity of these measurements, we compared data on CAP reports to a Compass report. Compass software allows an evaluator for assessment of an individual's computer input skills. Results: Results of this study showed that the CAP had high internal consistency, reliability of test-retest, concurrent validity, and convergent validity. Conclusion: Therefore, the CAP is appropriate for evaluation and determination of computer access skill of persons with physical disabilities. It is possible to get clear quantitative data on performance when providing computer access services if you can use the CAP data. Using this quantitative evidence, insights can be gained into the specific nature of any difficulties experienced by persons with physical disabilities and find wise solutions.

장애인의 여가활동 경험과 정신건강과의 연관성 - 2017년 장애인 실태조사 자료를 이용하여 - (Relationship between the Leisure Activities of People with Disabilities and the Mental Health -Using the National Survey of People with Disabilities in 2017-)

  • Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to provide basic data for solving mental health problems of people with disabilities by analyzing the relationship between leisure activities and the mental health. Methods: We used the chi-square test and the logistic regression model to analyze the data of the National Survey of People with Disabilities in 2017. 6,437 responses of secondary processed data were used in the analysis, Socio-economic, health behaviors and risk variables that affect the mental health of people with Disabilities were used as control variables. Result: As a result of the analysis, People with disabilities who are satisfied with their leisure activities have less depression for two weeks and less suicidal impulses (Depression: [OR]=1.80 p-value<.0001, Suicide Impulse: [OR]=2.26 p-value<.0001). In the case of the experience of leisure activities, some significance was relevant to depression for two weeks (Depression: [OR]=1.65 p-value=0.0052). Conclusion: In order to improve mental health of people with disabilities, it is necessary to provide opportunities for participation in leisure activities by improving the socioeconomic status of them. In addition, a high quality leisure program should be provided that meets the individual's needs to increase the satisfaction of leisure activities for people with disabilities.

지적장애인 지원욕구 측정을 위한 구성 요인 연구 (A Study on the Construct Measurement of Support Needs for People with Intellectual Disabilities)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지적장애인의 지원욕구 측정에 필요한 구성 요인을 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 개별지원서비스의 경험을 가진 19명의 장애인복지현장 실천가들이 196명의 지적장애인을 인터뷰하여 수집한 지원욕구 조사 결과에 대해 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 6개 영역 20개 문항으로 구성된 지원욕구 측정에 필요한 구성체를 확인하였다. 이들 구성 요인(자기관리, 건강관리, 의사소통, 대인관계, 주간활동, 가정 지역사회 활동)은 ICF 및 SIS-A와 비교할 때, 건강관리영역이 강조된 반면 공동체 생활, 사회생활 그리고 시민생활의 영역은 축소된 특성을 보여주었다. 국내에 지적장애인을 위한 개별지원서비스가 도입되는 초기 단계에서 단순하게 구성된 척도의 활용 가능성을 논의하였으며, 향후 더욱 규모 있는 조사연구를 통해 표준 점수가 산출될 필요성에 대해 언급하였다.
