합성가스/디젤 혼소압축착화 엔진의 합성가스 혼합비와 압축비에 따른 연소 및 배출가스 특성 (Syngas/Diesel Dual Fuel Combustion in a Compression Ignition Engine with Different Composition Ratios of Syngas and Compression Ratios)

  • Syngas is widely produced by incomplete combustion of coal, water vapor, and air (oxygen) in a high-temperature/high-pressure gasifier through a coal-gasification process for power generation. In this study, a simulation syngas which was mainly composed of $H_2$, CO, $CO_2$, and $N_2$ was fueled with diesel. A modified single cylinder compression ignition (CI) engine is equipped with intake port syngas supply system and mechanical diesel direct injection system for dual fuel combustion. Combustion and emission characteristics of the engine were investigated by applying various syngas composition ratios and compression ratios. Diesel fuel injection timing was optimized to increase indicated thermal efficiency (ITE) at the engine speed 1,800 rpm and part load net indicated mean effective pressure ($IMEP_{net}$) 2 to 5 bar. ITE of the engine increased with the $H_2$ concentration, compression ratio and engine load. With 45% of $H_2$ concentration, compression ratio 17.1 and $IMEP_{net}$ 5 bar, ITE of 41.5% was achieved, which is equivalent to that of only diesel fuel operation.

선회류 방식 연소시스템의 최적 조업을 위한 수치해석 (A Numerical Calculation for the Optimum Operation of Cyclone-based Combustion System)

  • 본 연구에서는 혁신적인 연소시스템의 최적 연소조건을 도출하기 위해 반응기 내부 유동 특성, 온도분포, 속도분포 및 체류시간 등에 대해 전산유체역학(CFD)을 이용한 3차원 모사를 수행하였다. 연료 투입량 1.5 ton/hr, 체류시간 1.25초, 공기비 2.1의 조건에서 연소시킬 때 로의 출구의 면적가중(area-weighted) 평균온도는 $1,077^{\circ}C$로 나타나 에너지 회수 및 유해가스 처리에 적합한 온도임을 알 수 있었다. 배가스는 연소실 중앙부위에서 강한 선회류를 따라 최고속도 약 40~50 m/s로 덕트를 통해 배출되므로 연소실의 중심부에 강한 난류가 형성되어 연소 속도 및 연소 효율이 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 시스템의 경우, 불완전 연소를 방지하고 또한 thermal NOx의 생성도 억제하기 위한 적정 조업조건은 공기비 1.9~2.1, 연료 투입량 1.25~1.5 ton/hr 정도인 것으로 나타났다.

식생활이 정서에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰 (The observation on eating impact on psychological aspect)

  • Object : This paper is designed to inquire into the influence of eating habits on the emotion of modem people. Method : The methodology is used that searches for materials such as books and treatises on the relationship between eating habits and emotion. Result : Meat used for fast food comes from cows that are fed the feed containing growth hormone and antibiotic. Growth hormone extremely supplements fire or yang within the body while antibiotics undermines the process of yin, leading to an accumulation of damp-heat and inflammation of ministerial fire. Additives contained in instant foods also impinge on the process of yin, leading to poor digestion, damp-heat toxins and ministerial fire. Excessive consumption of meat results in incomplete combustion of fat and hinders the formation of essence. Subsequently, ministerial fire becomes hyperactive as a result of the lack of yin energy. Increased meat consumption in the human diet is coupled with unhealthy eating pattern in which people eat too much for dinner and too quickly. Eating too much disturbs digestion, making it slow and incomplete, leading to excess damp-heat conditions, insufficient amount of vital essence and eventually hyperactive ministerial fire. Milk is considered a catalyst of faster growth, making it suitable for calves. Milk intake rapidly increases the balance of yang and eventually cause hyperactivity of ministerial fire. Conclusion : It is estimated that the eating habits of modern people cause the process of yang, making them feel restless, impatient and aggressive.

  • 분무유도식 DISI엔진의 성층연소운전조건에서 분무 및 화염특성에 대한 실험적 연구가 수행되었다. 연소가시화를 통하여 성층연소 DISI의 연소는 희박 예혼합 연소와 확산연소의 성격을 모두 가지고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 분사시기에 따른 혼합기 형성특성이 연소의 특성을 결정하는 중요한 인자임을 관찰하였다. 분무와 혼합기 가시화를 통해 낮은 분위기압에서의 over-mixing, 높은 분위기압에서의 under-mixing이 발생하는 것을 확인하였으며 이러한 혼합기 형성과정의 결과에 따라 화염특성, 연소효율 등의 연소특성이 결정되는 것을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 또한, NOx, IMEP도 분사시기에 따른 경향성을 보였으며, 분사시기에 따른 연소상의 변화에 의한 영향임을 확인하였다.

차량화재 안전설계를 위한 휘발유/에탄올 혼합연료의 연소생성물 배출 특성 (Emission Characteristics of Gasoline/ethanol Mixed Fuels for Vehicle Fire Safety Design)

  • Combustion characteristics of gasoline/ethanol fuel were investigated both numerically and experimentally for vehicle fire safety. The numerical simulation was performed on the well-stirred reactor (WSR) to simulate the homogeneous gasoline engine and to clarify the effect of ethanol addition in the gasoline fuel. The simulating cases with three independent variables, i.e. ethanol mole fraction, equivalence ratio and residence time, were designed to predict and optimized systematically based on the response surface method (RSM). The results of stoichiometric gasoline surrogate show that the auto-ignition temperature increases but NOx yields decrease with increasing ethanol mole fraction. This implies that the bioethanol added gasoline is an eco-friendly fuel on engine running condition. However, unburned hydrocarbon is increased dramatically with increasing ethanol content, which results from the incomplete combustion and hence need to adjust combustion itself rather than an after-treatment system. For more tangible understanding of gasoline/ethanol fuel on pollutant emissions, experimental measurements of combustion products were performed in gasoline/ethanol pool fires in the cup burner. The results show that soot yield by gravimetric sampling was decreased dramatically as ethanol was added, but NOx emission was almost comparable regardless of ethanol mole fraction. For soot morphology by TEM sampling, the incipient soot such as a liquid like PAHs was observed clearly on the soot of higher ethanol containing gasoline, and the soot might be matured under the undiluted gasoline fuel.

숯가마 배가스 중 악취물질의 배출특성 (Emission Characteristics of Odor Compounds in a Charcoal Production Kiln)

  • Exhaust gas emitted as a result of the incomplete combustion of biomass in charcoal kilns includes odor compounds as well as other air pollutants such as particulate matters, sulfur and nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide. A number of offensive odor compounds affect quality of life. In this study, odor emissions were investigated from biomass burning in a pilot-scale charcoal kiln and a commercial-scale kiln. Complex odor from emission source reached up to 10,000 dilutions to threshold during the study period. Combustion fume was found to contain reduced sulfur compounds, aldehydes, and volatile organic compounds. Hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan were the major odorants which highly contributed to the offensive odor.

  • Experimental investigations were carried out in an atmospheric pressure, optically accessible and laboratory-scale dump combustor operating on methane gas. The objective of this study was to obtain the phase-resolved gas temperatures at different phases of the oscillating pressure cycle during unstable combustion. CARS temperature measurements were made at several spatial locations under lean premixed conditions to get the information on temperature field within the combustor. Also the effect of incomplete fuel-air mixing on phase-resolved temperature fluctuation was investigated. Results including phase-resolved averaged temperature, normalized standard deviation and temperature probability distribution functions (PDFs) were provided in this paper. Temperature PDFs gave an insight on the flame behavior. And strong correlation between phase-resolved temperature profile and pressure cycle was observed. Results of the phase-resolved high temperature gave an additional information on the perturbation of equivalence ratio at flame as well as the effect of mixing quality on NOx emission characteristics.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the properties change of electric wire when the thermal stress was applied to NFR-8 and FR-PVC 600[V] wire. Messurement is made of the attenuation of a light beam by smoke accumulating with in a closed chamber due to nonflaming pyrolytic decomposition and flaming combustion. Results are expressed in terms of specific optical density which is derived from a geometrical factor and the measured optical density a measurement characteristic of the concentration of smoke. Referenced documents were ASTM E662 standard test method for specific Ds genalated by solid materials. The furnace control system shall maintain the required irradiance level under steady-state condition with the chamber door closed of $2.5{\pm}0.04[w/cm^{2}]$ for 20 min. According to the results of the smoke density analysis of NFR-8 and FR-PVC the highest decomposition flaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 25.2 to 37.5 and 51.1 respectively. Nonflaming smoke density range of NFR-8 and FR-PVC were 100.4 to 112.2 and 126.5 to 398.8. The amount of carbon monoxide generated was found to be much higher in FR-PVC decomposition than in NFR-8 due to incomplete combustion of FR-PVC which has high content of carbon in compound.

  • In this paper, efficiency estimation of toxicity fee fire resistance cable experiments was measured smoke density of toxicity free fire resistance polyolefin insulation material and electric field dependence of tree shape in low density polyethylene (LDPE). One of the most serious causes of failure in high-voltage cables, can be an electrical discharge across an internal gab or void in the insulating material. Treeing due to partial discharge is one of the main causes of breakdown in the insulating materials and reduction of the insulation life. Therefore the necessity for establishing a method to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict the breakdown of insulation and research of the fire resistance character has become important. First, we have studied on electric field dependence of tree shape in LDPE about treeing phenomena occurring on the high electrical field. Second, the measurement method is the attenuation quantity of irradiation by smoke accumulating with in a closed chamber due to non-flaming heat decomposition and flaming combustion. A main cause of fire-growth and generating toxic gas when, it bums, should be dealt with great care in life. safety design. The fire gases were occurred carbon monoxide and decomposition than in polyolefin due to incomplete combustion of PVC, which has high content of carbon in chemical compound.

  • 프로그레시브 금형은 다수의 공정을 순차적으로 이송시키면서 연속적으로 생산하는 능률적이고 품질이 우수한 가공법이다. 본 연구에서는 가스보일러 연소 배기관의 배기 효율과 불완전 연소의 원인이 되는 배기관을 용접할 때 발생하는 위치 정밀도를 확보하고, 생산성 증가를 목적으로, 제품 형상에 버링을 추가하여 프로그레시브금형을 제작하고, 금형을 분해하지 않고 버링펀치를 교환할 수 있도록 하며, 프로그레시브 금형에 의한 위치 정밀도와 생산성을 향상할 수 있도록 하였다.
