A Monitoring Scheme Based on Artificial Intelligence in Mobile Edge Cloud Computing Environments (모바일 엣지 클라우드 환경에서 인공지능 기반 모니터링 기법)

  • One of the crucial issues in mobile edge cloud computing environments is to monitor mobile devices. Due to the inherit properties of mobile devices, they are prone to unstable behavior that leads to failures. In order to satisfy the service level agreement (SLA), the mobile edge cloud administrators should take appropriate measures through a monitoring scheme. In this paper, we propose a monitoring scheme of mobile devices based on artificial intelligence in mobile edge cloud computing environments. The proposed monitoring scheme is able to measure faults of mobile devices based on previous and current monitoring information. To this end, we adapt the hidden markov chain model, one of the artificial intelligence technologies, to monitor mobile devices. We validate our monitoring scheme based on the hidden markov chain model. The proposed monitoring scheme can also be used in general cloud computing environments to monitor virtual machines.

  • This study is to present false alarm management of alarm monitoring service, by literature analysis and interview with the persons in charge of service of alarm monitoring service companies. To reduce false alarm by customer's mistake, development of educational tool that could provide practical effect is needed. Also institutional consent to charge a specific sum of money could be considered for unnecessary dispatch that occurred by customer's mistake. To improve the false alarm by defect of equipments and installation of electronic security system, standardization of technical regulation and system installation is necessary. And to improve the performance of passive infrared sensor that cause most false alarm, the development of new type of sensor is required. It could be considered that guideline on educational contents and term definition about false alarm could be come under the security regulation.

In local area, we used a miniaturized low-power wireless module and in wide area used CDMA Cellular System's Packet Data Service.   • In recent years, health management services have been increased according to the increase in interests on health and the development of information technology (IT) based on increases in advanced ages and chronic disease patients. Thus, it requires the monitoring of health conditions and the specialized healthcare services not only in a hospital but also their own home. This study provides the specific notification services related to the context information based on users' bio signal data and the notification services of specific patients and attempts to develop a hypertension monitoring system and a notification service system according to indexes. Because this system considers the context of users by differing it from the conventional monitoring services, it makes possible to obtain more exact measurement values. In addition, it is able to reduce certain health risks through managing specific patients and based on living indexes. Also, it can provide more customized services to users due to the exact and finely classified services.

  • With the rapid development of the Chinese water project, the safety monitoring of dams is urgently needed. Many drawbacks exist in dams, such as high monitoring costs, a limited equipment service life, long-term monitoring difficulties. MEMS sensors have the advantages of low cost, high precision, easy installation, and simplicity, so they have broad application prospects in engineering measurements. This paper designs intelligent monitoring based on the collaborative measurement of dual MEMS sensors. The system first determines the endpoint coordinates of the sensor array by the coordinate transformation relationship in the monitoring system and then obtains the dam settlement according to the endpoint coordinates. Next, this paper proposes a dual-MEMS sensor collaborative measurement algorithm that builds a mathematical model of the dual-sensor measurement. The monitoring system realizes mutual compensation between sensor measurement data by calculating the motion constraint matrix between the two sensors. Compared with the single-sensor measurement, the dual-sensor measurement algorithm is more accurate and can improve the reliability of long-term monitoring data. Finally, the experimental results show that the dam subsidence monitoring system proposed in this paper fully meets the engineering monitoring accuracy needs, and the dual-sensor collaborative measurement system is more stable than the single-sensor monitoring system.

A Relationship between the Noise and Vibration of a Wheelset and the Irregularity of a High-speed Railway: A Preliminary Research (윤축의 소음 및 진동과 고속선 궤도불규칙간의 관계에 대한 기초연구)

  • This paper is focused on a relationship between the noise and vibration of a wheelset and the railway irregularity of a high speed railway using a time-varying frequency transform for a preliminary research of the railway condition monitoring by an in-service high-speed railway vehicle. Generally, the monitoring has been performed by a special railway inspection vehicle or industrial engineers for railway maintenance. However, they have been limited at night due to the in-service high-speed railway vehicles, and too slow to monitor all of the section. To solve this problem, the monitoring should be performed by an in-service high-speed railway vehicle. For the research, the noise and vibration of a wheelset are utilized, because they are closely related to the railway condition. They are measured by using some microphones and accelerometers, and stored in an on-board data acquisition system. The signals are post-processed by a time-varying frequency analysis and compared with the result of a railway geometry and profile measurement system. From the comparison, it is able to observe the relationship between the noise and vibration of a wheelset and the irregularity of a high-speed railway. Also, some distinct frequency components are observed, which are not observed in the railway geometry and profile.

  • In this paper we propose a scalable sensor network system that makes mesh network among the sink nodes to solve the scalability problem of existing sensor network which is caused by multi-hop networking between the sensor nodes. In the proposed system, the sink nodes have the wireless networking ability to communicate with another sink nodes in mesh fashion, and with the monitoring nodes which is located in the local area or internet area. Especially, the system includes L4(Application Layer) routing mechanism that provides subscribe/publish service to serve selective transmission of sensor data to the specific monitoring nodes. The collected sensor data is transmitted to the monitoring nodes when the sensor data is matched with the monitoring node's interesting value.

  • Groundwater development and use have been increasing in Korea causing frequent occurrences of related hazards such as groundwater level decline, land subsidence, and groundwater contamination. To tackle these groundwater problems, central and local governments have set-up and maintained many groundwater monitoring programs such as the National Groundwater Monitoring Network and the Groundwater Quality Monitoring Network, which collect very valuable data on the overall status of domestic groundwater to aid proper groundwater management. However, several problems mainly related to the remediation of contaminated groundwater remain unresolved. Recently, there have been some incidents related to the contamination of groundwater, and these have drawn the concern of the Korean people. Although groundwater contamination has been investigated in detail, actual groundwater remediation work has not yet been implemented. The remediation of the contaminated groundwater must begin immediately in order to sustain the eco-system service of clean groundwater and enhance the welfare of the Korean people.

  • Financial institutions keep putting efforts to filling cash into ATMs and branches in order to provide customers with better service. This kind of job usually required an automobile unit to be done, and financial institutions employee perform this task directly or sourcing out to professional security service companies. However, the job has been of ten a target of criminals because it deals with cash. In fact, since 2003, there were several cash truck robberies occurred. This circumstances made the public be aware of the necessity of creative research and the strict management of financial institutions and security companies. However, the existing studies on security service of cash delivery suggest only how to improve the job legally and in operation, and the technological aspect of the improving way has not been studied. Therefore, this study aimed at suggesting an improvement the security service of cash delivery using real-time binary CDMA monitoring for providing better safety service to customers.

  • Even in the marine industry was required the looser positioning performance as compared to other application domain, a high-quality positioning performance and reliability are becoming ever more important. The high-quality performance includes not only accuracy but also integrity, continuity, and availability. However, current DGPS service is not satisfying the minimum positioning performance requirements for maritime user proposed by IMO. Especially, no one can guarantee the required integrity performance by DGPS service. This paper presents the advanced monitoring concept to strengthen the performance of current DGPS through the enhanced monitoring, guarantee and notice functions. To this, the limitations of the integrity monitoring function of current DGPS are analyzed, and a countermeasure is prepared to improve the limitations of the current integrity monitoring function. This paper can be applied as basis research to improvement of the DGPS service.
