This study has been conducted under the background of the high rocketed international oil price in the mid of the 2008 year. Korean logistics industry then suffered from a harsh labor strike which paralyzed temporarily Korean exports and imports activities mainly due to the rising motor fuel prices. The theme of this study started from the highly practical question: what would be the impact of the soaring crude oil price on the cost structure of the Korean logistics industry? For this practical question this study conducted an input-output analysis utilizing the 2003 year benchmark input-output table, published by the Bank of Korea in 2007.

Korean tank has been used from the end of 1980's. Even though Korean tank is regarded as the tank which is made in Korea, a lot of parts still need to be imported from abroad. Therefore, the localization for the parts of Korean Tank is necessary to be set free from the rate of dependence on imports. In this research, one of the most important part of Korean Tank, Lever, was considered to carry out localization. For the first step, two dimensional drawing and three dimensional modeling of the Lever was done. Secondly, the stress analysis was carried out for Lever and it is shown that the predictions of the proposed modeling are in very good agreement with the expected results.

This research examined two decades of the U.S. used clothing exports to the world. All countries (209) were classified into four groups based on the level of economic development. Between 1996 and 2012, U.S. used clothing exports shifted away from low-income economies to high-income economies. For the first time, our research demonstrated that the majority of used clothing discarded by American consumers is exported to high-income economies instead of poorest nations of the world. Next, used clothing exports and imports by volume and value in seven high-income countries were analyzed. The high-income countries not only exported but also imported significant amount of used clothing, which indicates a growing demand for worn apparel in developed nations. The demand might be at least partially attributed to the popular vintage clothing trend and increasing consumer environmentalism. Implications regarding development and implementation of a new classification system of worn clothing and recommendations for future research are presented.

This study analyzed the influence of the format import of Korean entertainment programs on the Chinese broadcasting industry. To this end, an in-depth interview was conducted with the production staff of Chinese broadcasting stations. As a result of the analysis of this study, it was found that the format and production method of Chinese entertainment programs began to change from the time the format of Korean entertainment programs was imported.

This paper reviews the development of Uruguay Round of GATT talks and forecasts its effect on regional agriculture particularly concerning Chungnarn provincial agriculture. Since agriculture is composed of main industry for Chungnam economy, as imports of cheap agricultural products increase, domestic price of farm products will rapidly decrease so that it might discourage domestic production and have severe adverse consequences in regional farm economy. To cope with agricultural trade liberalization, directions which regional agriculture should pursue are suggested as follows; 1) to establish the integrated rural development strategy so as to improve living conditions in rural area equivalent to urban area, 2) to adjust the agricultural institute system facing diversification of farming type, 3) to encourage commercialized farmers in order to maintain adequate farm income, 4) to increase R&D investment on comparatively advanced technology compared with other regions, 5) to foster farmers' organization and to rear young farmers to protect family farms.

Recently the construction of railway sections passing the central area of cities and stations under railway lines are increasing, and then it is urgently required to take the countermeasures against the railway vibration and the second-phase noise radiated from it. The most efficient countermeasure, out of technologies developed up to now, is the floating slab track which is the track system isolated from the sub-structure by springs. In other countries, the source technologies for anti-vibration design and vibration isolator - one of key components - have been developed and many installation experiences have been accumulated. However, in Korea, since the system design technology and technologies for key components are not yet developed, the foreign system are being introduced without any adjustment, and the key component, vibration isolator, depends on imports. In this study, floating slab was divided into three spans, $k_{dynamic}$ use by examining reactions and member forces was to ensure safety.

The static status and dynamic trend of the market structure in the international wheat trade market are empirically analyzed. The export inequality level empirically proved to be high compared to import inequality level. And such states have been maintained since 2001 until 2014. Although the concentration level of export side seems to be easing, the international wheat market remains imperfect competitive market. Moreover, overall imperfect competitive status over 2002-2014 has been worsened compared to 2001 level. The main reasons are that the overall trends of the imports concentration is reduced more than those of the export concentration level.

The citrus industry represents a major sector of agribusiness in Jeju successfully nurtured by the local governmental farm bureaus for the past three decades. However, in the face of increasing imports effected under the international free trade agreement, the continuous economic viability of the island’s citrus industry is no longer assured. Thus, it entails exploration and development of new agribusiness potentials that are supplemental and/or alternative to the citrus industry. In this presentation, I will discuss two projects of such potentials. (i) Under the tripartite collaboration among Kumho Life and Environmental Science Laboratory, Cheju National University and South Jeju County, genetically engineered turfgrass cultivars possessing both herbicide- and shade-tolerances (gene pyramiding) are currently at final phase of phenotype evaluations and environmental safety assessments. (ii) Fig fruits with longer shelf-life are being developed with support from Jeju HiTech Industrial Development Institute (HiDI) and at its initial phase of development.

Anthracite exports have special value within the DPRK's economy. In this paper, we focus on what determines the DPRK's anthracite exports to China. We use panel data consisting of cross-section data from 30 provinces in China and quarterly time-series data from 1998 to 2013. Controlling for all other variables that affect anthracite imports, the variable for steel production in China is robust and statistically significant. This is consistent with on-site interviews which indicate that much of North Korean anthracite is consumed by China's steel industry. This implies that the North Korean authorities need to make adjustments to the foreign trade structure, as the import demand for anthracite in China may decline further.

Improvement of the maintenance of firefly is another important part of the electrical system design with the performance. Usually, the maintenance of electrical system for small aircraft is more difficult than the maintenance of engine. The firefly electrical system imports the concept of module for design. In concept of module, sub-module can re easily isolated each other. Therefore, the maintenance of sub-module is possible. In this paper, the design and production of firefly electrical system is described.
