Optimized Decomposition of Ammonia Borane for Controlled Synthesis of Hexagonal Boron Nitride Using Chemical Vapor Deposition

  • Recently, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), which is III-V compound of boron and nitride by strong covalent sp2 bonds has gained great interests as a 2 dimensional insulating material since it has honeycomb structure with like graphene with very small lattice mismatch (1.7%). Unlike graphene that is semi-metallic, h-BN has large band gap up to 6 eV while providing outstanding properties such as high thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and good chemical stability. Because of these excellent properties, hBN can potentially be used for variety of applications such as dielectric layer, deep UV optoelectronic device, and protective transparent substrate. Low pressure and atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD and APCVD) methods have been investigated to synthesize h-BN by using ammonia borane as a precursor. Ammonia borane decomposes to polyiminoborane (BHNH), hydrogen, and borazine. The produced borazine gas is a key material that is a used for the synthesis of h-BN, therefore controlling the condition of decomposed products from ammonia borane is very important. In this paper, we optimize the decomposition of ammonia borane by investigating temperature, amount of precursor, and other parameters to fabricate high quality monolayer h-BN. Synthesized h-BN is characterized by Raman spectroscopy and its absorbance is measured with UV spectrophotometer. Topological variations of the samples are analyzed by atomic force microscopy. Scanning electron microscopy and Scanning transmission Electron microscopy are used for imaging and analysis of structures and surface morphologies.

고관절 내전근 수축을 이용한 교각운동이 복부근육의 두께에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Bridge Exercise with Contraction of Hip Adductor Muscles on Thickness of Abdominal Muscles)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the hip adductor muscles and abdominal muscles during bridge exercise. METHOD: Participants who met the criteria for this study(n=36) were divided into the three groups. The first experimental group performed normal bridge exercises and the second group performed bridge exercises with the contraction of the hip adductor muscles and the control group didn't perform any exercise. Transversus abdominis muscle thickness was measured by ultrasound imaging with a special transducer head device, at pre exercise, after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks. RESULT: Data were analyzed using repeated ANOVA with the level of significance set at ${\alpha}=.05$. Transversus abdominis muscle thickness was influenced by contraction of the hip adductor muscles during bridge exercise in people without lower back pain. Compared with normal bridge exercise, transversus abdominis muscle thickness significantly increased in thickness during bridge exercise with contraction of the hip adductor muscles(p<.05). CONCLUSION: The results from this study showed that contraction of the hip adductor muscles during bridge exercise increased change in the transversus abdominis muscle thickness. These results can be a good source to prevent low back pain due to hip adductor weakness. Therefore, inducing activation of hip adductor with abdominal stabilizing exercise is more effective in patients with low back pain.

방사선 노출에 따른 3T APS 성능 감소와 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 통한 픽셀 내부 결함의 비교분석 (A Comparison between the Performance Degradation of 3T APS due to Radiation Exposure and the Expected Internal Damage via Monte-Carlo Simulation)

  • The trend of x-ray image sensor has been evolved from an amorphous silicon sensor to a crystal silicon sensor. A crystal silicon X-ray sensor, meaning a X-ray CIS (CMOS image sensor), is consisted of three transistors (Trs), i.e., a Reset Transistor, a Source Follower and a Select Transistor, and a photodiode. They are highly sensitive to radiation exposure. As the frequency of exposure to radiation increases, the quality of the imaging device dramatically decreases. The most well known effects of a X-ray CIS due to the radiation damage are increments in the reset voltage and dark currents. In this study, a pixel array of a X-ray CIS was made of $20{\times}20pixels$ and this pixel array was exposed to a high radiation dose. The radiation source was Co-60 and the total radiation dose was increased from 1 to 9 kGy with a step of 1 kGy. We irradiated the small pixel array to get the increments data of the reset voltage and the dark currents. Also, we simulated the radiation effects of the pixel by MCNP (Monte Carlo N-Particle) simulation. From the comparison of actual data and simulation data, the most affected location could be determined and the cause of the increments of the reset voltage and dark current could be found.

RFM을 이용한 고해상도 인공위성 센서모델링 (RFM for High Resolution Satellite Sensor Modeling)

  • 일반적으로 위성영상으로부터 위치정보를 획득하기 위해서는 센서와 촬영대상간의 기하학적 관계를 규명하는 센서모델링이 선행되어야 한다. 그러나 Linear CCD (Charge Coupled Device) 배열에 의해 얻어지는 Pushbroom 위성영상은 Frame 센서에 의해 얻어지는 영상과 달리 영상을 획득하는 동안에 투영중심의 위치와 자세가 시간에 따라 변하기 때문에 정확한 센서모델링에 어려움이 있다. 또한 영상에 대한 궤도정보가 알려지지 않거나 불확실한 경우에는 물리적 센서모델의 적용에 어려움이 따르게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 인공위성의 궤도정보가 알려지지 않거나 불확실한 경우에 Frame, Pushbroom, Whiskbroom, SAR 영상 등 다양한 영상자료에 적합한 센서모델로서 RFM(Rational Function Model)의 적용가능성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해서 KOMPSAT EOC 영상과 SPOT영상에 RFM을 적용하였으며, 지상기준점을 20개, 30개, 40개, 50개, 60개, 70개의 경우로 나누어 지상기준점의 개수와 배치 및 RFM 계수의 차수변화에 따른 RFM의 정확도를 분석하였다. 또한 수학적 모델 중에 하나인 DLT를 구현하여 RFM과 비교하였다.

초음파 영상 특성을 이용한 실시간 초음파 영역 추출방법 (Real-time Ultrasound Contexts Segmentation Based on Ultrasound Image Characteristic)

  • In ultrasound telemedicine, it is important to reduce the size of the data by compressing the ultrasound image when sending it. Ultrasound images can be divided into image context and other information consisting of patient ID, date, and several letters. Between them, ultrasound context is very important information for diagnosis and should be securely preserved as much as possible. In several previous papers, ultrasound compression methods were proposed to compress ultrasound context and other information into different compression parameters. This ultrasound compression method minimized the loss of ultrasound context while greatly compressing other information. This paper proposed the method of automatic segmentation of ultrasound context to overcome the limitation of the previously described ultrasound compression method. This algorithm was designed to robust for various ultrasound device and to enable real-time operation to maintain the benefits of ultrasound imaging machine. The operation time of extracting ultrasound context through the proposed segmentation method was measured, and it took 311.11 ms. In order to optimize the algorithm, the ultrasound context was segmented with down sampled input image. When the resolution of the input image was reduced by half, the computational time was 126.84 ms. When the resolution was reduced by one-third, it took 45.83 ms to segment the ultrasound context. As a result, we verified through experiments that the proposed method works in real time.

Torticollis Management Using the Customized Soft Neck Collar in CATCH 22 Syndrome Combined with Klippel-Feil Anomaly: A Case Report

  • CATCH 22 syndrome is rare genetic disease that has various manifestations. Cervical vertebral anomaly, such as Klippel-Feil anomaly, is frequently observed in the patients with CATCH22 syndrome. We present the case of an 11-year-old female patient with CATCH22 syndrome and Klippel-Feil anomaly who had been treated torticollis using the customized soft neck collar. During the patient's first visit to our clinic, she presented with low ear set, skull deformity, intellectual disability, and tilting of the head to the left by approximately 25 degrees. Imaging studies revealed multisegmental fusion and C3 hemivertebrae of the cervical spine and left thoracic scoliosis at T4 with 50 degrees of Cobb's angle. We instructed passive stretching and applied the customized soft neck collar we invented. The ipsilateral aspect of the neck collar is designed to provide vertical support between the clavicle and mandibular angle and is adjustable in height. The Velcro was attached to the neck collar at the point of contact with the ipsilesional mandibular angle, which provides negative sensory feedback, inducing her to tilt neck to the contralesional side. We applied the neck collar for 2 hours a day. After 1 year of treatment, her neck inclination angle improved from 25 to 10 degrees. Providing negative sensory feedback using the customized soft neck collar can be one of the treatment options of postural management in patients with torticollis in cases of CATCH 22 syndrome combined with Klippel-Feil anomaly.

안드로이드 기반의 지능형자동차 미들웨어 오픈플랫폼 서비스 응용 (Android-Based Open Platform Intelligent Vehicle Services Middleware Application)

  • 최근 지능형자동차 기술은 IT와 융합되어 새로운 첨단 영상미디어 응용기술로 발전하며, 오픈소스 기반의 안드로이드를 탑제한 스마트폰 응용기술과 지능형자동차 개발이라는 새로운 패러다임으로 많은 연구개발이 이루어지고 있다. 안드로이드 기반의 지능형자동차 응용 기술은 이동수단의 한계를 넘어 다양한 멀티미디어 중심의 집합기술로 진화하고 있으며, 이러한 분산 환경에서 개발되어 있는 각각의 멀티미디어 플랫폼서비스와 애플리케이션이 개발되고 있음에 따라 다양한 서비스 기술을 통한 휴대 단말장치기술이 절대적으로 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 기반의 지능형 자동차 전용 미들웨어 설계를 통하여 단일형 시스템 스펙에 맞춰 SVC Codec과 실시간 동영상, 그래픽처리등 지능형자동차 미들웨어 SoC 설계를 통해 응용 연구를 실험 하였으며, 오픈플랫폼에서 제공되는 각종 단말서비스 기능들을 SoC 기반으로 새롭게 설계하고 표준화된 인터페이스 분석기법을 본 연구에서 실험을 통하여 입증하였다.

한의표준임상진료지침 개발을 위한 수족냉증에 대한 한의사의 인식과 치료현황 (A Survey on Korean Medicine Doctors' Recognition and Treatment for Developing Korean Medicine Clinical Practice Guideline of Coldness of Hands and Feet)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study were to researched a Korean medicine doctors' recognition about coldness of hands and feet, and developing of korean medicine clinical practice guidelines (CPG) for coldness of hands and feet. Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey targeting 399 Korean medicine doctors belonging to the Association of Korean Medicine by e-mail and analyzed the answers. Results: 1. 86.86% of the respondents agreed about the necessity of CPG for coldness of hands and feet. 2. 84.2% of respondents wanted coding of Korean Standard Classification of Diseases (KCD) on coldness of hands and feet. 3. To diagnosis a coldness of hands and feet, the respondents used a Subjective symptoms (98.5%), Infrared thermographic imaging device (DITI) (26.32%) Heart rate variablity test (HRV) (17.04%), Thermometer (9.77%), Cold stress test (2.76%) 4. Causing of coldness of hands and feet, the respondents considered a constitution or heredity (84.71%), stress (73.66%), lack of exercise (64.91%), irregular eating habits (51.63%), Cold meals (32.83%), depression (31.33%), etc. 5. Treating coldness of hands and feet, the respondents used a herbal medicine (66.85%), acupuncture (70.7%) Pharmacopuncture (23.85%) and moxibustion (60.08%) for $10.91{\pm}8.03week$. Conclusions: We researched a Korean Medicine doctors' recognition of CPG, clinical diagnosis, treatment on a coldness of hands and feet, and policy they required.

환자의 만족도 향상을 위한 PET/CT Volume Rendering Technique 적용 (Application of PET/CT Volume Rendering Technique to Improve Patient Satisfaction)

  • 우리나라 의료 시스템에서 고객만족은 매우 중요한 요소로 자리 잡고 있다. 하지만, 의료영상 분야는 일반인들이 이해하기 매우 어려운 부분이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 의료진과 환자의 소통문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 기존의 PET/CT 단면 의료영상을 Volume Rendering Technique으로 재구성 하여 환자의 만족도를 증가시키고자 하였다. PET/CT 검사를 진행한 암 환자 360명을 대상으로 VRT을 진행하였으며, 이 중 100명의 환자를 대상으로 만족도 조사를 실시한 결과 100명 모두 VRT 영상이 기존의 영상보다 만족도가 우수한 것으로 나타났다. PET/CT는 CT 나 MRI와 같은 세부적인 해부학적 모양을 관찰하는 장비가 아닌 암의 신호를 강하게 나타내는 영상으로 손쉽게 VRT 영상이 제작 가능하다. 이러한 VRT 영상은 일반인들도 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 입체적으로 표현 할 수 있어 의료진과 환자의 소통을 보다 효율적으로 높일 수 있으며 환자의 "알 권리" 충족시킬 것으로 나타났다.

JPEG2000의 하드웨어 구현을 통한 최적 DWT 레벨의 정지영상 화질개선 (Still Image Improvement of Adaptative DWT(Discrete wavelet transform) Decomposition Level Through the Implementation of JPEG2000 Hardware)

  • 본 논문은 특정응용분야인 디지털사진, 원격탐사, 이동 중 항공 원격 촬영, 의학영상의 고해상도와 고압축 원격촬영이 필요로 하는 분야에 JPEG2000의 표준을 적용한 하드웨어 설계 제작하였다. 영상 압축을 하기 위한 JPEG2000의 표준을 이용한 소프트웨어로 구현은 처리속도가 기존의 JPEG에 비하여 매우 느리다는 단점을 갖고 있으며, 또한 JPEG2000 표준의 DWT(: Discrete wavelet transform) 레벨을 향상시킬 경우 영상 데이터 압축에 대한 연산 처리 속도가 저하되는 현상을 갖고 있다. 이러한 해결을 위해서 JPEG2000 압축/복원기를 설계 제작하여 적용하였다. 본 논문에서는 최적 DWT(Discrete wavelet transform) 레벨을 변화시켜서, JPEG-2000 압축/저장기의 하드웨어가 최적의 압축과 정지 영상에 대한 빠른 연산처리속도와 화질개선을 보여줬다.
