As a serial communications protocol, Modbus has become a practically standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. Therefore, all devices can be connected using the Modbus protocol with the measurement and remote control on ships, buildings, trains, airplanes and more. The existing Modbus that has been used is based on serial communication. Modbus TCP uses Ethernet communication based on TCP / IP which is the most widely used Internet protocol today; so, it is faster than serial communication and can be connected to the Internet of Things. In this paper, we designed an algorithm to control LED lighting in a wireless Wi-Fi environment using the Modbus TCP communication protocol, and designed and implemented a LED controller circuit that can check external environmental factors and control remotely through the integrated management system of a ship. Temperature, humidity, current and illuminance values, which are external environmental factors, are received by the controller through the sensors, and these values are communicated to the ship's integrated management system via the Modbus protocol. The Modbus can be connected to Master devices via TCP communication to monitor temperature, humidity, current, illuminance status and LED output values, and also users can change the RGB value remotely in order to change to the desired color. In addition, in order to confirm the implementation of the controller, we developed a simulated ship management system to monitor the temperature, humidity, current and illumination conditions, and change the LED color of the controller by changing the RGB value remotely.

This study proposes a multi-scale template matching technique with image pyramids (TMI) to measure structural dynamic displacement using a vision sensor under atmospheric turbulence conditions and evaluates its displacement measurement performance. To evaluate displacement measurement performance according to distance, the three-story shear structure was designed, and an FHD camera was prepared to measure structural response. The initial measurement distance was set at 10m, and increased with an increment of 10m up to 40m. The atmospheric disturbance was generated using a heating plate under indoor illuminance condition, and the image was distorted by the optical turbulence. Through preliminary experiments, the feasibility of displacement measurement of the feature point-based displacement measurement method and the proposed method during atmospheric disturbances were compared and verified, and the verification results showed a low measurement error rate of the proposed method. As a result of evaluating displacement measurement performance in an atmospheric disturbance environment, there was no significant difference in displacement measurement performance for TMI using an artificial target depending on the presence or absence of atmospheric disturbance. However, when natural targets were used, RMSE increased significantly at shooting distances of 20 m or more, showing the operating limitations of the proposed technique. This indicates that the resolution of the natural target decreases as the shooting distance increases, and image distortion due to atmospheric disturbance causes errors in template image estimation, resulting in a high displacement measurement error.

In this study, the generation efficiency of the limited area of a concentrator solar cell was increased by using a solar concentrator and a tracking device. Heat generated by the solar cell was collected using a thermal absorber for supplying hot water or heating. Thus, the concentrator solar cell system provided electricity and heat simultaneously. Tracking of the sun by detecting the sun's position, repositioning of heating device towards the east after sunset, and shutting down of system after sunset were successfully implemented using an illuminance sensor (CdS) and Simulink, a commercial software package. We performed parametric analysis of the velocity, fin installation, and entrance location with respect to the operating temperature of the concentrator solar cell. A heat transfer simulation model was developed for comparing the actual temperature profiles of the concentrator solar cell and thermal absorber, and good agreement was found between the results of the simulations and the experiments.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify indoor air quality in various living spaces using sensors that can measure noise, vibration, fine dust, and odor in real time and to propose optimal indoor air quality maintenance management using Internet of Things(IoT). Research design, data and methodology: Using real-time sensors to monitor physical factors and environmental air pollutants that affect the comfort of the residential environment, Noise, Vibration, Atmospheric Pressure, Blue Light, Formaldehyde, Hydrogen Sulfide, Illumination, Temperature, Ozone, PM10, Aldehyde, Amine, LVOCs and TVOCs were measured. It were measured every 1 seconds from 4 offices and 4 stores on a small scale from November 2018 to January 2019. Results: The difference between illuminance and blue light for each measuring point was found to depend on lighting time, and the ratio of blue light in total illumination was 0.358 ~ 0.393. Formaldehyde and hydrogen sulphide were found to be higher than those that temporarily attract people in an indoor office space that is constantly active, requiring office air ventilation. The noise was found to be 50dB higher than the office WHO recommendation noise level of 35 ~ 40dB. The most important factors for indoor environmental quality were temperature> humidity> illumination> blue light in turn. Conclusions: Various factors that determine the comfort of indoor living space can be measured with real-time sensors. Further, it is judged that the use of IoT can help maintain indoor air quality comfortably.
The adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based automatic control system framework was proposed for integrated environment management of ubiquitous plant factory which can collect information of crop cultivation environment and monitor it in real-time by using various environment sensors. Installed wireless sensor nodes, based on the sensor network, collect the growing condition's information such as temperature, humidity, $CO_2$, and the control system is to monitor the control devices by using ANFIS. The proposed automatic control system provides that users can control all equipments installed on the plant factory directly or remotely and the equipments can be controlled automatically when the measured values such as temperature, humidity, $CO_2$, and illuminance deviated from the decent criteria. In addition, the better quality of the agricultural products can be gained through the proposed automatic control system for plant factory.
Modbus is a serial communications protocol, it has since become a practically standard communication protocol, and it is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. Therefore, it can be connected with all devices using Modbus protocol to the measurement and remote control on the ships, buildings, trains, airplanes and etc.. In this paper, we add the Modbus communication protocol to the existing lighting controller sensitivity to enable verification and remote control by external environmental factors, and also introduces a fuzzy inference system was configured by external environmental factors to control LED lighting. External environmental factors of temperature, humidity, illuminance value represented by the LED through a fuzzy control algorithm, the values accepted by the controller through the sensor. Modbus is using the RS485 Serial communication with other devices connected to the temperature, humidity, illumination and LED output status check is possible. In addition, the remote user is changed to enable it is possible to change the RGB values in the desired color change. Produced was confirmed that the LED controller output is based on the temperature, humidity and illumination.
With regard to LED lighting devices which have currently been commercialized, LED operating sequences are being sold in a fixed state. In such a state, the external environmental factors are not taken into consideration as only the illumination environment application is considered. Currently, it is difficult to create an optimal lighting environment which can adapt to changes in external environmental factors in the ship. Therefore, it was concluded that there is a need to input the external environment value so that the optimal illumination value can be reflected in real time in order to adapt more organically and actively to the change of external environmental factors. In this paper, we used a microprocessor as an integrated management system for environmental data that changes in real time according to existing external environmental factors. In addition, a controller capable of lighting control of RGB LED module by combining fuzzy inference system. For this, a fuzzy control algorithm is designed and a fuzzy control system is constructed. The distance and the illuminance value from the external environment element are input to the sensor, and these values are converted to the optimum illumination value through the fuzzy control algorithm, and are expressed through the dimming control of the RGB LED module and the practical effectiveness of the fuzzy control system is confirmed.

Melatonin hormone involved in human's circadian rhythm adjustment sensitively responds to light's specific short wavelength ratio. A shift worker's circadian rhythm disturbance and sleep disorder are caused by the existing lighting conditions, whose short wavelength ratio is fixed. The life pattern of a shift worker changes irregularly because of irregular working hours and the same lighting environment; thus, his/her concentration is reduced. For such a reason, negative effects ensue to the detriment of healthy everyday life, including a high risk of accidents or having unsound sleep after leaving work. A smartphone-based wavelength control LED lighting system that targets shift workers and that can easily measure and control lighting suitable for wake-sleep cycle, according to working hours and closing hours, is proposed in this paper. First, after the light characteristics of LED lighting that changes depending on light control ratio are measured through the color sensor installed on the smartphone and the externally-linked Mini-Spectrometer, they are stored in the database. Based on the stored optical characteristics data, the measurement module and light control module are implemented. Lighting is offered using a control ratio having the maximum rate of short wavelength in consideration of the target illuminance, classified according to work type by identifying working hours as time when waking is required for shift workers. After a shift work leaves work, the amount of lighting is varied, using a control ratio having a minimum short wavelength rate so that a shift worker can enter the sleep state naturally.
A subminiature catadioptric omnidirectional optical system (SCOOS) with 2 mirrors, 6 plastic aspherical lenses, and an illumination system of 6 light emitting diodes, to observe the 360° panoramic image of the inner intestine, is optically designed and evaluated for a capsule endoscope. The total length, overall length, half field of view (HFOV), and F-number of the SCOOS are 14.3 mm, 8.93 mm, 51°~120°, and 3.5, respectively. The optical system has a complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor sensor with 0.1 megapixels, and an illumination system of 6 light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with 0.25 lm to illuminate on the 360° side view of the intestine along the optical axis. As a result, the spatial frequency at the modulation transfer function (MTF) of 0.3, the depth of focus, and the cumulative probability of tolerance at the Nyquist frequency of 44 lp/mm and MTF of 0.3 of the optimized optical system are obtained as 130 lp/mm, -0.097 mm to +0.076 mm, and 90.5%, respectively. Additionally, the simulated illuminance of the LED illumination system at the inner surface of the intestine within HFOV, at a distance of 15.0 mm from the optical axis, is from a minimum of 315 lx to a maximum of 725 lx, which is a sufficient illumination and visibility.
