Flelxible Manufacturing Systems(FMS), which consist of various machine groups, can produce machine parts in different physical dimensions and lot sizes. In this paper, a novel method which utilizes Colored and Timed Petri Net is proposed to model a FMS. Each machine group of FMS is modulized and modeled using expanded Petri Nets. Colored and Timed Petri Nets are defined, and the flexible manufacturing systems's design algorithm based on this definition is developed and verified in a real FMS plant by computer simulations.

The results of the manufacturing of instant sweet potatoes from Korea native sweet potatoes and researching nutritional aspects from it. 1. The optimum cooking time for the manufacturing of instant sweet potatoes are 30 minutes, then it water contents are 5%. 2. Along to increasing cooking time, the contents of saccharides and another nutritive is increased, and it has almost constant value in the contents of saccharides. 3. Instant sweet potatoes are a good vitamin food because Vitamin C n the sweet potatoes is destroyed a little through cooking process, but instant sweet potatoes contain much of Vitamin C more than cereal, as 0.146%.

In order to search a method of manufacturing better activated clay in an effcient way, attempt was made to select particularly samples for activation to concentrate the research upon them with varied activation to concentrate the research upon them with varied activation conditions. Special attention was also made to the low quality materials because they may become good activated clay if treated under a suitable activation condition.

SI(System Integration) process in KSLV-I development project is integrate whole assemblies which was submitted to system integration supervising team to one complete launch vehicle with proper quality control through test and verification and launch KSLV-I. It is not a one or a few teams' separate job but overall comprehensive job which request all related function group and manufacturing companies' voluntary cooperation. This paper was intended to provide entire SI process outline to whole related function groups and manufacturing companies for better cooperation in SI process and will be revised through continuos discussion among SI supervising group, whole function groups and manufacturing companies.

The increasing dynamic and distributed nature of a business and manufacturing environment makes it hard to collaborate between design and manufacturing parties. The seamless collaboration necessitates a manufacturing quote service (MQS) that delivers manufacturing quotes timely for designer's requests. After envisioning a SOA-inherited collaboration framework, the paper details MQS' functionalities, and syntax and semantics of collaboration messages (i.e., RFQ and manufacturing quote). The MQS is implemented as a Web Service so as to be accessible by designers. For each RFQ, the MQS adaptively generates a responding manufacturing quote by using the DPM library and real-time shop status information. The paper also presents an evolution process that shows the whole process of RQF generation from given product design data. The proposed framework enabled partners to exchange engineering data rapidly and adaptively during the dynamic collaboration, and also increased the benefits of distributed and global production.

Using a multinomial logit model with the panel-data set of Vietnam manufacturing firms, this paper investigates the impacts of foreign direct investment (FDI) - small and medium enterprises (SMEs) linkages and other factors on SMEs' participation in the global value chain (GVC). We consider GVC firms are those engaging in any of the three modes including (i) using domestic inputs to export (D2E), (ii) using imported inputs to produce for the domestic market (I2P), (iii) using imported inputs to export (I2E). We discover that FDI-SME linkages statistically encourage Vietnamese SMEs to integrate into the GVC via I2P and I2E, while no statistical association between FDI-SME linkage and D2E participation is found. GVCs participation likelihood is also positively correlated with the introduction of new product introduction. The establishment of firms' production facilities in industrial zones and foreign ownership are both reported to be significantly decisive factors to SMEs' decisions on GVC participation. Besides, there is a strong association between firms' attributes, i.e. employment, capital intensity as well as financial access, and their participation in the GVC. Local governance quality (proxied by the Provincial Competitiveness Index) and the share of skilled labor at the province-level can facilitate firms' integration into GVCs, while greater market concentration may be a hurdle to such potential.
