The high resolution studies for shallow seismic reflection are carried out using 24-channel seismograph and the high sensitivity geophone(50-500Hz). In order to study the underground structures such as small faults, fractures, cracks and cavities, it is of great importance to enhance high resolution of the seisrnic records for the targets vertically and laterally. In analysis of high resolution seismic reflection, Nyquist frequency($F_N$) should be lager than the highest frequency in the records and the highest wave number should not be exceed the Nyquist wave number($1/2{\Delta}x$). The highest frequency above the Nyquist will be removed using low pass filter or antialias filter. The trace interval Ax should be taken into account so that the highest wave number(f/v) can be less than $1/2{\Delta}x$. The Fraunhofer diffraction of a hyperbola seismic section above the tunnel appeares on the common offset method, and little first arrivals of direct wave on the single-end shooting, delayed strong impulsive reflections are also shown above the tunnel. Ray Method(Cherveney and Psencik, 1983) also represents the same results that the reflected waves from the tunnel are delayed and single impulsive with little first arrivals, while transrnitted waves through the tunnel are delayed with low frequency.

This study was conducted to predict the rice yield loss and to determine the economic threshold levels for direct-seeding flooded rice cultivation from competition to the most serious perennial weeds, Cyperus serotinus Rottb. and Echinochloa crus-galli L. The rice yield loss model of C. serotinus and E. crus-galli were predicted as Y = 560 kg/(1+0.001883x), $r^2$=0.933, and Y = 507 kg/(1+0.001734x), $r^2$=0.867, respectively. In comparison of the competitiveness represented by parameter ${\beta}$, it was 0.001883 in C. serotinus and 0.001734 in E. crus-galli, respectively. Economic thresholds calculated using Cousens' equation were negatively related with the competitiveness of weed. The economic thresholds of C. serotinus and E. crus-galli were 15.5 and 2.3 plants per $m^2$, respectively.

There are many cases of production processes which intermittently produce several different kinds of products for stock through one set of physical facility. In this case, an important question is what size of production run should be prduced once we do set-up for a product in order to minimize the total cost, that is, the sum of the set-up, carrying, and stock-out costs. This problem is used to be called scheduling of multiple products through a single facility in the production management field. Despite the very common occurrence of this type of production process, no one has yet devised a method for determining the optimal production schedule. The purpose of this study is to develop quantitative analytical models which can be used practically and give us rational production schedules. The study is to show improved models with application to a can-manufacturing plant. In this thesis the economic production quantity (EPQ) model was used as a basic model to develop quantitative analytical models for this scheduling problem and two cases, one with stock-out cost, the other without stock-out cost, were taken into consideration. The first analytical model was developed for the scheduling of products through a single facility. In this model we calculate No, the optimal number of production runs per year, minimizing the total annual cost above all. Next we calculate No$_{i}$ is significantly different from No, some manipulation of the schedule can be made by trial and error in order to try to fit the product into the basic (No schedule either more or less frequently as dictated by) No$_{i}$, But this trial and error schedule is thought of inefficient. The second analytical model was developed by reinterpretation by reinterpretation of the calculating process of the economic production quantity model. In this model we obtained two relationships, one of which is the relationship between optimal number of set-ups for the ith item and optimal total number of set-ups, the other is the relationship between optimal average inventory investment for the ith item and optimal total average inventory investment. From these relationships we can determine how much average inventory investment per year would be required if a rational policy based on m No set-ups per year for m products were followed and, alternatively, how many set-ups per year would be required if a rational policy were followed which required an established total average inventory inventory investment. We also learned the relationship between the number of set-ups and the average inventory investment takes the form of a hyperbola. But, there is no reason to say that the first analytical model is superior to the second analytical model. It can be said that the first model is useful for a basic production schedule. On the other hand, the second model is efficient to get an improved production schedule, in a sense of reducing the total cost. Another merit of the second model is that, unlike the first model where we have to know all the inventory costs for each product, we can obtain an improved production schedule with unknown inventory costs. The application of these quantitative analytical models to PoHang can-manufacturing plants shows this point.int.
An optimal condition for the continuous production of ${\delta}-aminolevulinate$(ALA) was investigated using high concentrated resting cells of Rhodocyclus gelatinosus KUP-74. The increase of the amount of extracellular ALA versus the concentration of resting cells showed rectangular hyperbolic pattern until 20 mg cells/ml, but no further increase in the ALA amount by increasing its concentration was occurred. The highest yield of the extracellular ALA was observed after 3 hr of incubation of 1 ml reaction system containing 20 mg cells, 4 mM levulinate and 5 mM L-glutamate. On the other hand, the immobilized cells prepared by Ca-alginate inclusive method needed to incubate for 6 hr with 6 mM levulinate and 10 mM L-glutamate to give maximal yield of the extracellular ALA. In addition, under these conditions the resulted continuous productivities of the ALA by immobilized cells and highly concentrated resting cells were appeared 50 percent decreases after incubations for 185 hr and 100 hr, respectively, and the method of the cells to be immobilized was more efficient to recover the extracellular ALA produced.
This study was conducted to predict reduction of soybean yield as affected by different densities of Cuscuta pentagona. All data were fitted to Cousens' rectangular hyperbola model to estimate parameters for predicting soybean yield loss. The yield of soybean in the various densities (1 to 48 plants $m^{-2}$) of C. pentagona reduced by 80.3 to 99.7%, respectively. Among yield components, number of pods was the most significantly influenced by weed interferences. The prediction model for soybean yield as affected by weed competition was as follows: Y= 274.6783/(1+4.3522X), $r^2$=0.999 in C. pentagona. Economic threshold levels calculated using cousens' equation was 0.004 plants $m^{-2}$ in C. pentagona.
Field experiments were conducted to predict rice yield losses caused by Echinochloa crus-galli (L.)P. Beauv., Bidens frondosa L. and Aeschynomeme indica L. at a range of plant densities under machine transplanted rice cultivation in different regions of Korea in 2006, and to determine their economic threshold levels (ET). All data were fitted to Cousens' rectangular hyperbola to estimate parameters for predicting rice yield loss. The rice yield loss models of Bidens frondosa L. was predicted as y=5.43/(1+0.0113x), $R^2$=0.963, A. indica was y=5.47/(1+0.0332x), $R^2$=0.976 and E. crus-galli y=5.43/(1+0.01552x), $R^2$=0.950. The mean competitivities represented by the parameter, whose reciprocal ($1/{\beta}$) is a weed density reducing crop yield by 50%. Those of E. crus-galli, B. frondosa and A. indica were 0.01552, 0.01113 and 0.0332 in normal-season machine transplanting of Korea, respectively. Single year mean economic thresholds (ET) of A. indica were 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7 plant $m^{-2}$ with the application of flucetosulfuron, flucetosulfuron+imazosulfuron GR and flucetosulfuron+imazosulfuron+carfentrazone GR herbicides, respectively. Meanwhile ET values of 1.6, 1.9 and 1.9 plants $m^{-2}$ for B. frondosa, 1.2, 1.4, and 1.4 plants $m^{-2}$ for E. crus-galli.

This study was conducted to predict the rice yield loss and to determine the economic threshold levels for direct-seeding flooded rice cultivation from competition to the most serious weeds, Sagittaria trifolia L. and Bidens frondosa L. The rice yield loss models of S. trifolia and B. frondosa were predicted as Y = 497.0/(1+0.003760x), $R^2$=0.869 and Y = 486.0/(1+0.007612x), $R^2$ = 0.887, respectively. In comparison of the competitiveness represented by parameter ${\beta}$, it was 0.003760 in S. trifolia and 0.007612 in B. frondosa, respectively. Economic thresholds calculated using Cousens' equation was negatively related with the competitiveness of weed. The economic thresholds of S. trifolia and B. frondosa were 7.6 and 3.9 plants per $m^2$, respectively.
Duncan & Chang(1970) proposed the Duncan-Chang model that a linear relation of transformed stress-strain plots was reconstituted from a nonlinear relation of stress-strain curve of triaxial compression test using hyperbolic theory so as to estimate an initial tangent modulus and ultimate deviator stress for the soil specimen. Although the transformed stress-strain plots show a linear relationship theoretically, they actually show a nonlinearity at both low and high values of strain of the test. This phenomenon indicates that the stress-strain curve is not a complete form of a hyperbola. So, if linear regression analyses for the transformed stress-strain plot are performed over a full range of strain of a test, error in the estimation of their linear equations is unavoidable depending on ranges of strain with non-linearity. In order to reduce such an error, a modified regression analysis method is proposed in this study, in which linear regression analyses for transformed stress-strain plots are performed over the entire range of strain except the range the non-linearity is shown around starting and ending of the test, and then the initial tangent modulus and ultimate deviator stresses are calculated. Isotropically consolidated-drained triaxial compression tests were performed on compacted weathered soil with a modified Proctor density to obtain their model parameters. The modified regression analyses for transformed stress-strain plots were performed and analyzed results are compared with results estimated by 2 points method (Duncan et al., 1980). As a result of analyses, initial tangent moduli are about 4.0% higher and ultimate deviator stresses are about 2.9% lower than those values estimated by Duncan's 2 points method.
Purpose: An experiment was conducted to analyze the characteristics of the settlement of soft clay soil in the central region of the west coast of Korea, which has a high silt content and is difficult to predict settlement due to various stress histories. Method: Field experiments were conducted for three cases. The settlement amount of the subsidence plate was measured in each case, and the following conclusions were drawn by analyzing Terzaghi's one-dimensional consolidation settlement amount, both the hyperbolic method and the Asaoka method. Result: The predicted value by Terzaghi was analyzed to be the largest in all cases, and it was predicted to be 111% to 187% larger than the subsidence plate settlement value. That is, the subsidence plate settlement value, which is the amount of settlement of the actual ground, showed a settlement of 53.4~89.9% compared to the predicted value of Terzaghi. Therefore, it was analyzed that the expected settlement of the Terzaghi method in the clay soft ground of the central west coast of Korea is more than the actual settlement. Conclusion: It was analyzed that the Asaoka method and the hyperbolic method presented relatively similar results, and in practice, predicting the settlement amount smaller than the actual settlement amount may cause a risk, so the hyperbola analysis method predicted 6~14% larger than the actual settlement amount can be used as a safety side.
Ground subsidence on urban roads is a social issue that can lead to human and property damages. Therefore, it is crucial to detect underground cavities in advance and repair them. Underground cavity detection is mainly performed using ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys. This process is time-consuming, as a massive amount of GPR data needs to be interpreted, and the results vary depending on the skills and subjectivity of experts. To address these problems, researchers have studied automation and quantification techniques for GPR data interpretation, and recent studies have focused on deep learning-based interpretation techniques. In this study, we described a hyperbolic event detection process based on deep learning for GPR data interpretation. To demonstrate this process, we implemented a series of algorithms introduced in the preexisting research step by step. First, a deep learning-based YOLOv3 object detection model was applied to automatically detect hyperbolic signals. Subsequently, only hyperbolic signals were extracted using the column-connection clustering (C3) algorithm. Finally, the horizontal locations of the underground cavities were determined using regression analysis. The hyperbolic event detection using the YOLOv3 object detection technique achieved 84% precision and a recall score of 92% based on AP50. The predicted horizontal locations of the four underground cavities were approximately 0.12 ~ 0.36 m away from their actual locations. Thus, we confirmed that the existing deep learning-based interpretation technique is reliable with regard to detecting the hyperbolic patterns indicating underground cavities.
