Swelling agent를 이용한 근적외선 흡수 유기색소의 polyester 흡착 (A Study on PET Adsorption Property of NIR Dye Using Swelling Agents)

  • The near infrared ray camouflage fabric has a near infrared ray reluctance similar to the surrounding environment and has a camouflage effect on the surrounding environment. Synthetic fibers used in military uniforms are difficult to have gastrointestinal function as general commercial dyes, unlike cellulose fibers, which use some commercial vat dyes to impart infrared gastrointestinal function. In this study, we optimized the adsorption pH, temperature and time for NIR dye application for polyester fabrics, and established the optimum concentration for the evaluation of adsorption build-up characteristics. In addition, it is difficult to adsorb it since the polyester material has a dense crystal structure and the NIR dye is bulky. Therefore, a swelling agent used for dyeing meta-aramid fibers with high Tg and high crystallinity was introduced as a separate preparation to increase the affinity to polyester, which is a hydrophobic fiber, to thereby obtain an excellent adsorption rate. As a result of comparing before and after using swelling agent, the adsorption rate difference was 10 times or more when compared with before.

수중 유전체장벽방전 플라즈마를 이용한 아조 염색폐수 색도제거 (Decolorization of Azo Dyeing Wastewater Using Underwater Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma)

  • 본 연구에서는 소수성 다공질 세라믹관이 결합된 수중 유전체장벽방전 플라즈마 반응기를 이용하여 모사 염색폐수의 색도저감을 조사하였다. 플라즈마에 의해 생성되는 활성성분들은 수명이 매우 짧으므로 생성되는 즉시 물과 접촉시켜야 효과적인 폐수처리가 가능하며, 또한 반응속도를 증가시키기 위해서는 기/액 접촉면적이 커야 하는데, 본 연구의 반응기는 두 가지 목적을 동시에 이룰 수 있다. 아조 염료로는 amaranth, 그리고 플라즈마 생성을 위한 기체로는 공기가 사용되었으며, 방전전력, 기체 유량, 용존 음이온, 염료 초기농도 등 색도 제거에 미치는 다양한 변수의 영향이 평가되었다. 기체유량이 $1.5Lmin^{-1}$일 때, 플라즈마 기체가 염색폐수와 가장 효과적으로 접촉하였으며, 색도 제거가 가장 빠르게 일어났다. 염료 초기농도 $40.2{\mu}molL^{-1}$ (폐수부피 : 0.8 L), 방전전력 3.37 W의 조건에서 색도를 99% 이상 제거하는데 약 25 min이 소요되었다. 그밖에 염료의 초기농도가 낮을수록, 방전전력이 높을수록 색도 제거 속도가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 염소이온이 존재할 경우 색도 제거 속도가 빨라졌으나, 질산이온은 색도 제거 속도에 영향을 주지 않았다.

고강도/고분자량 폴리에틸렌 섬유의 적색 초소수성 형광염료 염색 (Dyeing of High Strength and High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber Using Super Hydrophobic Red Fluorescence Dyes)

  • Three super hydrophobic red fluorescence dyes were selected to dye high molecular weight polyethylene fiber. Their absorbance and emission spectra were obtained and Stokes' shift was measured. Fluorescence emission strength of the dyes on the fiber was investigated and therefore Fluoro Red 3 was determined as the best one among those three dyes in this experiment. Dyeing properties and fluorescence intensities were investigated using the Fluoro Red 3 on high molecular weight polyethylene fiber at various dyeing conditions. The optimum concentration of a dispersing agent was appeared at 10wt% in aqueous solution. The best dyeing was obtained at $125^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The color fastnesses to the washing and rubbing were as high as ratings 4~5, however, the fastness to light was exhibited ratings 2~3.

Calculation and Analysis of Hydrophobicity of the Dyes Synthesized for Unmodified Polypropylene Fibers Using Molecular Descriptors

  • In order to analyze numerically the hydrophobicity of the new dyes synthesized for unmodified pure polypropylene fibers, the octanol-water partition coefficient (logP), which is one of molecular descriptors representing hydrophobicity of organic compounds, was obtained by a semi-empirical method using Chem3D software. For the dyes of higher logP than around 5, the affinity of the dyes towards unmodified polypropylene fiber was substantial. In contrast to the new dyes for polypropylene, conventional disperse dyes have logP values lower than 5 and exhibited poor affinity.

Aggregation and Dissolution of Cationic Dyes with an Anionic Surfactant

  • Spectral behaviors of cationic dyes, methylene blue(MB) and acridine orange(AO), with varying concentrations of sodium dodecylsulfate(SDS) were studied. At low concentration of SDS(<1mM), these dyes formed insoluble dye-surfactant aggregates. When [SDS] is 4-5 mM, the aggregates were dissolved into mixed micelles of constant composition. At higher concentration of [SDS], the composition of mixed micelles were changed with [SDS], resulting only monomeric form of dyes in micelles. AO-SDS system showed greater aggregating and less dissolving properties, and weaker effect of salt than MB-SDS system did. These were attributed to the greater hydrophobic nature of the former dye. The monomer/dimer ratios of dyes in mixed micelles at given [SDS] were greatest at $20^{\circ}C$, reflecting the dependency of CMC of the surfactant on temperature.

미세액적의 형상이 증발에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Microdroplet Shape on the Evaporation)

  • Many studies of microdroplet evaporation from solid surfaces were made with priority given to inkjet printing and dye painting techniques. The objective of these studies is how to evaporate a droplet quickly and uniformly. Also it is necessary to prevent evaporation of a droplet to observe cells in a droplet generated through cell-patterning. In general, an identical volume of a water droplet on hydrophobic surfaces evaporates slower than that on hydrophilic surfaces. In this study, we observe the evaporation process of a droplet on various hydrophobic surfaces and calculated the evaporation rate considering the droplet geometry such as contact angle and height. This study also proposes a new model based on the fact that evaporation mode at the edge of a droplet is different from that at the outer surface of a droplet as the contact angle changes during evaporation. Finally, we reveal the cause fur the increase of evaporation flux and show that the ratio of edge evaporation to total evaporation increases with time.

순수 폴리프로필렌 섬유용 알킬치환 안트라퀴논계 염료의 색상발현 특성 (The Coloration Properties of Alkyl-substituted Anthraquinoid Dyes for Pure Polypropylene Fiber)

  • The optical and physical properties of alkyl-substituted anthraquinoid dyes were investigated in terms of dyeing of pure polypropylene fiber. The length of alkyl substituents of the dyes did not affect the molar extinction coefficient and maximum absorption wavelength of them. The use of a double-tailed cationic surfactant, didodecyldimethylammonium bromide(DDDMAB), could make the hydrophobic dyes dispersed in water effectively. As the amount of DDDMAB increased, the average particle size of dye dispersion decreased. Maximum color strength of the fabrics was shown in the case that 1.5 molar ratio of DDDMAB was used. As for the fastness properties, commercially acceptable result was obtained in general.

몇 가지 용매가 양모의 저온염색에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Several Solvents on Low Temperature Wool Dyeing)

  • To reduce the dependence of wool dyeing on the temperature several solvents with different properties and structures were added to the dye bath of C. I. Acid Yellow 42. Nearly the same total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$) of solvents as those of wool fiber and hydrophobic part of the dyestuff were needed to increase disaggregation of dye molecules, loosening the wool fiber and wickabilty of dyeing solution; besides, the large surface tension(${\gamma}$) value of the solvents and the well balanced values of the three-component Hansen solubility parameters such as dispersion(${\delta}_d$), polar(${\delta}_p$), and hydrogen(${\delta}_h$) bonding parameters were required. Among the added solvents dimethyl phthalate(DMP) and acetophenone(AP) were satisfied with these conditions and worked the most successfully in the low temperature wool dyeing. Their effectiveness proven by the dyeing rate and the activation energy ($E_a$) of the dyeing was in the order of DMP > AP > DBE > CH > M >NONE. In conclusion the total solubility parameters(${\delta}_t$), the three-component Hansen parameters and the surface tension(${\gamma}$) of DMP and AP could be the guidelines to select suitable solvents for low temperature wool dyeing.

수용액에서 색소-계면활성제 계의 회합 생성에 관한 연구 (The Studies on Formation of Aggregates of Dyes-Surfactant System in Aqueous Solution)

  • 낮은 농도에서 유기색소와 계면활성제 계의 흡수거동을 계산하기 위해 간단한 모델을 사용해보았다. 실험에서 얻어진 값에 3개의 파라미터가 포함되어 있는 결과식을 적용함으로써 이온쌍형성$(K_O)$, 회합체에 계면활성제 분자첨가의 경우$(K_S)$, 그리고 색소회합반응$(K_D)$에 대한 평형상수들을 계산하였으며 이값들을 이용하여 자유에너지를 계산하였다. $K_O$K_S$의 값들은 소수성에 원인이 있는 정전기적 상호작용에서 기대했던 것들보다 컸었고, $K_D$값들은 정전기적 반발력의 차폐효과로 간주할 수 있는 순수한 수용액에서의 알려진 회합값보다 약 10~20배 정도 높았다.
