In wafer level molding progress, the thermal releasing failure phenomenon is shown up as the important problem. This phenomenon can cause the problem including the warpage, crack of the molded wafer. The thermal releasing failure is due to the insufficiency of adhesion strength degradation of the molding tape. To solve this problem, we studied experimental method increasing the release property of the molding tape through the plasma surface treatment on the wafer substrate. In this research, the vacuum plasma treatment system is used for release property improvement of the molding tape and controls the operating condition of the hydrophilic($O_2$, 100kW, 10min) and hydrophobic($C_2F_6$, 200kW, 10min). In order to perform the peeling test for measuring the releasing force precisely, we remodel the micro scale material property evaluation system developed by Korea institute of industrial technology. In case of hydrophilic surface treatment on the wafer substrate, we can figure out the releasing property of molding tape increase. In order to grasp the effect that it reaches to the release property increase when repeating the hydrophilic treatment, we make an experiment with twice treatment and get the result to increase about 12%. We find out the hydrophilic surface treatment method using plasma can improve releasing property of molding tape in the wafer level molding process.

The surface of cyarabine-entrapped albumin microspheres, the surface modified albumin microspheres hsowed remakably incrased hydrophilicity, good dispersability in aqueous medium and reduced aggregation during storage which met the requirements of injectable drug carriers in acqueous vehicle. In vitro cytarabine release from hydrophilic albumin microspheres (HAM) was a function of the cytarabine to albumin ratio, whereas no significant difference in the releasing capacity was obnserved between surface modified HAM within the small size range$(2\;to\;5\mu{m)}$ studied. HAM containing 15-23% drug were gradually degraded by protease and continuously released up to 60% of the total entrapped cytarabine for 6h. These results thus suggest that HAM is a suitable cytarabine carrier which may be injected intraveneously with the benefits of a reduced risk of blood embolism induced by aggregates and prolonged cytarabine release.

To increase the heat transfer rate of the air pre-heating heat exchanger used for the condensing boiler, We investigated condensation heat transfer coefficients through plasma surface treatment. The hydrophilic surface showed about 10% increase in heat transfer rate than original plate. It shows that Shah correlation can be used to predict the condensation heat transfer coefficient on the original surface within 10% error range after the compatison between Shah correlation and the condensation heat transfer coefficients measured on the hydrophilic surface and original surface. Therefore, we have shown that Shah correlation is available when designing the air pre-heating heat exchanger using the original surface in this study.
Disinfection of dental impressions are necessary due to contamination with patient’s saliva and blood, which is a potential for cross-infection. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of disinfection of four hydrophilic rubber impression materials with three disinfecting solutions, on the dimensional stability and surface hardness of improved stone casts. Three hydrophilic vinyl polysiloxane impression materials(Express, Reprosil, Exafine) and one polyether impression material(Impregum-F) were mixed according to the manufacturer’s directions and impressions were made on a ADA specification No. 19 stainless-steeldie. On removal of the impressions, each impression was immersed in one of the disinfectants(Banicide, Potadine, Clorox) for 10 minutes. After disinfection, type IV improved stone. casts were poured. On this cast, the linear dimension and surface hardness were measuredusing a Measurescope(Nikon, Japan) and a Barcol hardness tester(Barber, Colman Co U. S. A). The results were as follows : 1. The improved stone casts from disinfected Reprosil and Impregum-F impression material did not show dimensional changes(P>0.01). Those from disinfected Express and Exafine impression material showed dimensional changes(P<0.01). The amount of shrinkage was not clinically significant. 2. The improved stone casts from disinfected Express impression material did not exhibit changes in surface hardness(P>0.01), but those from disinfected Reprosil, Exafine, Imp regnum-F impression material showed changes in surface hardness(P<0.01). 3. The dimensinal stability and surface hardness of the improved stone casts were satisfactory using Banicide on Express, all disinfectants used in this study on Reprosil, Potadin and Clorox on Exafine, Banicide and Clorox on Impregum-F. According to these results, immersion disinfection of hydrophilic rubber impression mate rials did not adversely affect the resultant casts. Nevertheless compatibility tests of impression materials and disinfectants should be done when disinfecting impressions.
Purpose: Short implants are a potential alternative to long implants for use with bone augmentation in atrophic jaws. This meta-analysis investigated the survival rate and marginal bone level (MBL) of surface-modified short vs. long implants. Methods: Electronic and manual searches were performed for articles published between January 2010 and June 2021. Twenty-two randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing surface-modified short and long implants that reported the survival rate with at least 1 year of follow-up were selected. Two reviewers independently extracted the data, and the risk of bias and quality of evidence were evaluated. A quantitative meta-analysis was performed regarding survival rate and MBL. Results: The failure rates of surface-modified short and long implants differed significantly (risk ratio, 2.28; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.46, 3.57; P<0.000). Long implants exhibited a higher survival rate than short implants (mean follow-up, 1-10 years). A significant difference was observed in mean MBL (mean difference=-0.43, 95% CI, -0.63, -0.23; P<0.000), favoring the short implants. Regarding the impact of surface treatment in short and long implants, for hydrophilic sandblasted acid-etched (P=0.020) and titanium oxide fluoride-modified (P=0.050) surfaces, the survival rate differed significantly between short and long implants. The MBL differences for novel nanostructured calcium-incorporated, hydrophilic sandblasted acid-etched, and dual acid-etched with nanometer-scale calcium phosphate crystal surfaces (P=0.050, P=0.020, and P<0.000, respectively) differed significantly for short vs. long implants. Conclusions: Short surface-modified implants are a potential alternative to longer implants in atrophic ridges. Long fluoride-modified and hydrophilic sandblasted acid-etched implants have higher survival rates than short implants. Short implants with novel nanostructured calcium-incorporated titanium surfaces, hydrophilic sandblasted acid-etched surfaces, and dual acid-etched surfaces with nanometer-scale calcium phosphate crystals showed less marginal bone loss than longer implants. Due to high heterogeneity, the MBL results should be interpreted cautiously, and better-designed RCTs should be assessed in the future.

In the field of material science, the interests and efforts to modify the surface of materials in agreement with the need of usage have been extensively increasing. he modification to improve the wettability of surface is very important is terms of adhesion, printing, etc. It is very difficult to modify metal surface into hydrophilic one. therefore, surfactant coating has been generally used in many cases. However, surfactant has disadvantages such as environmental problem, soluble in water. in this study, hydrophilic polymer films as alternative of surfactant were deposited on metal substrate by DC plasma polymerization. Hydrophilic polymer films deposited by DC plasma show many merits such as good wettability, stone adhesion to substrate, high resistance to most chemicals. Monomer gas and reactive gas were used as source plasma polymerization. Plasma polymerized films were fabricated with process parameters of deposition time, ratio of gas mixture, current, pressure, etc. Effects of these variables on wettability of plasma polymer films will be discussed. With XPS and FT-IR analyses of plasma polymeric films, the relation between wettability and chemical state of polymer films by DC plasma was investigated.
In this research, the in vitro anti-thrombogenecity of artificial materials was evaluated using hydrophilic/hydrophobic copolymers containing oiligosaccharide as hydrophilic moiety and phospholipid as hydrophobic moiety respectively. N-(p-vinylbenzyl)-[O-$\alpha$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1longrightarrow4)]$_{n-1}$-D-glucoamide(VM7A) was (VM7 A) was adopted as hydrophilic oligosaccharide and 2-acryloxybutyl-2-(triethylammonium)ethyl phosphoric acid (HBA-choline) was adopted as hydrophobic phospholipid. Copolymers having various monomer feeding molar ratios were synthesized through radical polymerization. The synthesized copolymers were identified using FT-IR, $^1$H-NMR, XPS, and DSC. The surface energy of the copolymers were evaluated by dynamic contact angle (DCA) method and checked different roles of VM7A as hydrophilic moiety and HBA-choline as hydrophobic moiety on surface. The surface morphological differences between hydrated and unhydrated surfaces of copolymers were observed and evaluated using Am. The platelets were separated from canine whole blood by centrifugation and adopted to the anti-thromobogenecity test of the copolymers. From the results, we find out that as VM7A ratio increases, so did anti-thrombogenecity. Such results show the possibility of using these copolymers as blood compatible materials in living body.y.

Even though the antifogging property of nanosilica coated glass surface is highly increased due to the hydrophilic hydroxyl groups on nanosilica surface, the durability of this property on outdoor glass was diminished rapidly after rain washing. In addition the topology of nanosilica coated glass surface plays very important roles to control an light transmittance or antireflection property. To improve these coating durability and characteristics a hydrophilic nanosilica coating on glass was prepared by coating with 1.5 wt% of nanosilica (Ludox) suspension in the presence of hydrolyzed tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS). The optimum hydrolysis condition of TEOS in acidic or basic aqueous solution was also examined by contact angle measurement. The final transparent hydrophilic coating layer coated with nanosilica-TEOS in acidic condition (pH=4) showed much improved durability of hydrophilic surface as well as higher visible light transmittance than original uncoated glass by 2 % point.
Membrane clogging or fouling of the membrane caused by organic, inorganic, and biological on the surface is one of the main obstacles to achieve high flux over a long period of the membrane filtration process. So researchers have been many attempts to reduce membrane fouling and found that there is a close relationship between membrane surface hydrophilicity and membrane fouling, such that the same conditions, a greater hydrophilicity were less prone to fouling. Nanotechnology in the past decade is provided numerous opportunities to examine the effects of metal nanoparticles on the both hydrophilic and antibacterial properties of the membrane. In the present study the improvement of hydrophilic and antimicrobial properties of the membrane was evaluated by adding nanoparticles of titanium dioxide and copper oxide. For this purpose, 4% copper oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles with a ratio of 0, 30, 50, and 70% of copper oxide added to the polymeric membrane and compare to the pure polymeric membrane. Comparison experiments were performed on E. coli PTCC1998 in two ways disc and tube and also to evaluate membrane hydrophilic by measuring the contact angle and diameter of pores and analysis point SEM has been made. The results show that the membrane-containing nanoparticle has antibacterial properties and its impact by increasing the percentage of copper oxide nanoparticles increases.

$TiO_2$ films were deposited on glass substrates with and without $O_2$ plasma etching by using the RF-magnetron sputtering method. We focused on the effect of surface structure on the photoinduced hydrophilic properties of $TiO_2$ films, fabricated on different surface conditions according to the presence or absence of the $O_2$ plasma treatment on glass substrates. The wettability and photoinduced hydrophilic properties of the $TiO_2$ films were investigated according to the changes in water contact angles under UV light irradiations with a very low intensity of 0.1 $mW/cm^2$. The photoinduced hydrophilic properties on the $TiO_2$ formed above the plasma treated glass were also superior to those on the $TiO_2$ formed above the bare glass. This enhanced $TiO_2$ film has been used practically for self cleaning and anti-fogging glasses.
