유기용매에서 Lipase에 의한 지방족 폴리에스터의 합성 (Preparation of Aliphatic Polyester by Lipase Catalyzed Transesterificatoin in Anhydrous Organic Solvents)

  • 유기용매 THF에서 bis(2, 2, 2-trichloroethyl) glutarate와 diol을 기질로 하여 PPL에 의한 tran sesterification 반응을 통해 polyester를 합성하였다. 1. 서로 다른 source의 lipase로 이 반응을 시켜본 결과 PPL이 가장 반응을 잘 진행시켰으며 Humi cola lanuginos와 Pseudomonas sp.의 Ii pase들도 어느 정도 반응을 진행사켰으며 Rhizopus의 lipase들 은 반응을 전혀 진행시키지 못했다. 2. Diol로 ethyleneglycol, 1, 3~propanediol, 1,4­b butanedi이은 모두 거의 비슷한 정도로 반응이 진행 되었으며 secondary alcohol인 glycerol의 경우 이들에 비해 반응이 매우 느리게 진행되었다. 이는 glycer이 에 의 해 효소가 steric hinderance를 받기 때문인 것으로 추정된다. 3. Diol로 여러 가지 분자량의 PEG(M = 300-1000)를 사용한 결과 PEG-400이 가장 잘 반응되었으며 이를 제외하고는 분자량이 클수록, 즉 chain의 길이가 갈수록 반응속도가 느렸다. 그리고 이렇게 chain의 길이가 비교적 긴($C_{12}-C_{45}$) PEG플 diol 로 사용했을 때는 monotransesterication 반응이 끝 난 이후에는 반응이 거의 더 이상 진행되지 않았다. 4. 유기용매로는 비교적 hydrophilic한 THF, ether, acetonitrile 등에 셔 잘 반응되었다. 5. $20^{\circ}C$ 에서 $60^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 반응온도가 높 을수록 반응속도가 빨랐으며 184시간 반응된 반응 생 생물의 평균분자량은 모두 2200←2300 daltons로 반응온도의 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 관찰되었다. 8. NMR에 의한 end group analysis를 이용하여 반응 생성물을 분석한 결과 수평균분자량은 1500­4 4000 daltons이었다.

이온성 액체를 이용한 생물분자의 추출 (Extraction of Biomolcules by Ionic Liquids)

  • As an effective separation method for biomolecules, aqueous two-phase systems based on ionic liquids were suggested. Hydrophobic ionic liquids are more expensive and viscous in spite of their usage in the ionic liquid/water biphasic extraction compared with hydrophilic ionic liquids. In case of aqueous two-phase systems using hydrophilic ionic liquids, they can be diluted in aqueous phase. Experimental results show that aqueous two phase systems can be formed by adding appropriate amount of ionic liquids to aqueous salts solutions. The viscosity of ionic liquid aqueous phase is proportional to the cation chain length in ionic liquids. It is founded that the ionic liquid based aqueous two phase systems are effective for the separation of biomolecules such as acrylic acid.

친수성 포스파젠 고분자를 이용한 금속 이온 분리막 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preparation of Metal-Ion Separation Membrane with Hydrophilic Polyphosphazenes)

  • 소수성인 poly[bis(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazene]에 methoxyethylenoxy 측쇄를 치환시켜 친수성을 증가시킨 포스파젠 고분자를 합성하였으며 합성된 고분자를 다공성 polypropylene 지지체위에 dip-coating법으로 금속이온 분리막을 제조하였다. $Cr^{3+},\;Co^{2+},\;Mn^{2-}$이온 수용액에 대한 분리실험을 $25^{\circ}C$에서 $60^{\circ}C$까지 온도범위에서 행하였다. 치환된 methoxyethylenoxy기 중의 ethylenoxy의 반복단위가 증가할수록 이온의 투과특성이 증가하는 것을 알수 있었다. Trifluoroethoxy methoxyethoxyethoxyethoxy co-substituted polyphosphazene의 경우 $Cr^{3-}$ 이온이 $60^{\circ}C$에서 분리계수 4.5의 값을 갖고 $Co^{2+},\;Mn^{2+}$ 이온들로부터 분리가 됨을 알 수 있었다.

Preparation of Polymeric Self-Assembly and Its Application to Biomaterials

  • The self-assembly of polymers can lead to supramolecular systems and is related to the their functions of material and life sciences. In this article, self-assembly of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films, polymer micelles, and polymeric nanoparticles, and their biomedical applications are described. LB surfaces with a well-ordered and layered structure adhered more cells including platelet, hepatocyte, and fibroblast than the cast surfaces with microphase-separated domains. Extensive morphologic changes were observed in LB surface-adhered cells compared to the cast films. Amphiphilic block copolymers, consisting of poly(${\gamma}$-benzyl L-glutamate) (PBLG) as the hydrophobic part and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) [or poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm)] as the hydrophilic one, can self-assemble in water to form nanoparticles presumed to be composed of the hydrophilic shell and hydrophobic core. The release characteristics of hydrophobic drugs from these polymeric nanoparticles were dependent on the drug loading contents and chain length of the hydrophobic part of the copolymers. Achiral hydrophobic merocyanine dyes (MDs) were self-assembled in copolymeric nanoparticles, which provided a chiral microenvironment as red-shifted aggregates, and the circular dichroism (CD) of MD was induced in the self-assembled copolymeric nanoparticles.

  • 요즘 건물 내에서의 생활이 많아진 현대인에게 실내공기의 질은 매우 중요한 개념이고, 새롭게 생각을 해 보아야 하는 문제이다. 실내공기의 질은 실내공기의 온도, 습도 등으로 결정이 된다. 그리고 실내공기 개선을 위해서는 에너지 소비가 심하다는 단점이 있다. 그리하여, 전열교환을 이용하여 이러한 문제를 해결하려는 방법에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 전열교환 분리막 적용을 위하여, poly(styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) 고분자에 친수성 치환기인 암모늄을 도입하여 아민화된 SEBS 고분자를 합성하였고, 합성고분자에 대한 특성평가를 진행하였다. 암모늄을 도입하기 위하여 클로로메틸화 반응과 아민화 반응을 통하여 합성을 진행하였다. 결과적으로 합성고분자는 반응용제의 함량이 높아질수록 함수율, 이온교환용량이 증가하였고, 전열교환 분리막에서 중요한 투습도 또한 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다.

메틸렌기의 길이에 따른 LB막의 유전 특성 비교 (Comparison to Dielectric Properties of LB Films for Length of Methylene Group)

  • We have investigated the dielectric characteristics of palmitic acid(PA), stearic acid (SA) and arachidic acid(AA) Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films because these fatty acid systems have a same hydrophilic group and a different hydrophobic one (alkyl chain length). In this work. fatty acid systems were used as LB films and the status of the deposited films was confirmed by evaluating the transfer ratio. the UV absorption and the capacitance. Also, the dielectric characteristics such as the frequency-capacitance characteristics and the dielectric dispersion and absorption characteristics of PA, SA and AA through-plane were measured. The relative dielectric constants of PA, SA and AA LB films were about $2.6\sim4.6$, $2.4\sim4.1$ and $2.2\sim3.8$, respectively. That is, the relative dielectric constants were decreased in proportion to the chain length of methylene group. And, the dielectric dispersion and absorption of each fatty acid LB films have arisen from spontaneous polarization of dipole polarization in the range of $10^4\sim10^5[Hz]$.

Span 20과 Tween계 계면활성제의 물/공기 계면에서의 분자면적과 계면장력 거동 (Molecular Area and Interfacial Tension Behavior of Span 20 and Tween series surfactants at water/air interface)

  • The molecular areas and the interfacial tension behavior of ten nonionic surfactants, i.e., Span 20 and Tween 20, 40, 60. 80, 21, 61, 81, 65, & 85 are tested to assay their effects on the wetting and liquid retention properties of hydrophilic and hydrophobic fibrous materials. The molecular areas at water/air interface are derived from Gibbs’adsorption equations. The following conclusions are drawn from the results: 1) Span 20 is efficient in lowering the interfacial tension and effective in adsorption at the water/air interface, resulting in the low interfacial tension at critical micelle concentration (${\gamma}$$_{CMC}$) and a small molecular area($\omega$), 2) when the hydrophiles of the surfactants are constant, $\omega$’s increase as hydrophobe carbon numbers of the surfactants increase, 3) when the hydrophobes are constant, ${\gamma}$$_{CMC}$’s and $\omega$’s increase as the hydrophile ethylene oxide units increase, indicating effectiveness and efficiency is parallel in this case, 4) the ethylene oxide unit length as a hydrophile has greater influence on u than the hydrophobe chain length.han the hydrophobe chain length.gth.

메틸렌기에 의한 지방산 LB막의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of Fatty Acid LB Films by Methylene Group)

  • We have investigated the electrical characteristics of arachidic acid($C_{20}$), stearic acid(C_{18} and palmitic acid($C_{16}$) Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films because the fatty acid systems have a same hydrophilic group and a different hydrophobic one (alkyl chain length). In this work, fatty acid systems were used as LB films and the status of the deposited films were confirmed by evaluating the capacitance and I-V characteristics. The conductivity of $C_{20}$, C_{18} and $C_{16}$ LB films obtained from I-V characteristics were about 5x $10^{15}$, 3x $10^{14}$ and 9x $10^{14}$[S/cm], espectively. These results have shown the insulating materials and could control the conductivity by changing the length of alkyl chain. Also, we have confirmed that the barrier height of fatty acid systems were about 1.32- 1.40[eV] and the relative dielectric constant were about 2.9~4.2. These values were almost the same ones obtained from dielectric characteristics.

  • 알킬비닐에테르와 말레인산디에틸에스테르의 공중합체인 측쇄알킬기의 탄소수나 중합도가 다른 올리고머형 음이온성 계면활성제 ($C_mD-Na$)를 분산제로 사용하고 친수성 안료로서 산화철이나 산화티탄의 미립자에 대한 분산성을 비교검토하였다. 그 결과 올리고머형 계면활성제의 동족체는 안료입자 표면에 알킬기가 흡착되므로써 흡착층을 형성하고 있는 입자에 음의 하전을 띠어 분산거동이 다르지만, $C_4D-Na$는 저농도에서도 우수한 분산능을 나타내었다. 그리고 소수성인 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$와 Anatase $TiO_2$는 0.1% 농도 이상의 범위에서도 측쇄알킬기의 탄소수가 $C_8$ 이상인 것이 분산작용에 양호한 것으로 나타났다.

PAPER-TO-PAPER FRICTION CAUSED BY WOOD EXTRACTIVES ON THE PAPER SURFACE IS DETERMINE BY LENGTH AND ORDER OF THE HYDROCARBON CHAINS

  • Friction was measured on filter paper sheets impregnated with model compounds representing wood extractives using an apparatus based on the horizontal plane principle. The best lubrication of paper surfaces was achieved when they were completely separated by a densely packed film of saturated long-chain amphophilic molecules, such as fatty acids. The fatty acids adsorbed with their polar ends on the paper surface, causing their hydrocarbon chaine to be orientated perpendicularly to the paper surface. The saturated C18-acid, stearic acid, was an efficient lubricator for paper surfaces. The introduction of a double bond in stearic acid eliminated its lubricating ability. The spatial length of the lubricating fatty acid thereby decreases from 24${\AA}$ to 11${\AA}$. However the transisomer of oleic acid, elidic acid, had the ability to lower friction due to an increased spatial length of the fatty acid. Both the spatial length of the hydrocarbon chain and the number of lubricating chains may be of importance for the paper-to-paper friction caused by wood extractives. A hydrophilic head-graup in the wood extractive and an ordered molecular layer of lubricating molecules seems also to be prerequisites for efficient lubrication. A chemical weak boundary layer between the paper sheets was suggested to cause the low friction when long chain saturated fatty acids were deposited on paper.
