This study presents a hunting search based optimum design algorithm for engineering optimization problems. Hunting search algorithm is an optimum design method inspired by group hunting of animals such as wolves, lions, and dolphins. Each of these hunters employs hunting in a different way. However, they are common in that all of them search for a prey in a group. Hunters encircle the prey and the ring of siege is tightened gradually until it is caught. Hunting search algorithm is employed for the automation of optimum design process, during which the design variables are selected for the minimum objective function value controlled by the design restrictions. Three different examples, namely welded beam, cellular beam and moment resisting steel frame are selected as numerical design problems and solved for the optimum solution. Each example differs in the following ways: Unlike welded beam design problem having continuous design variables, steel frame and cellular beam design problems include discrete design variables. Moreover, while the cellular beam is designed under the provisions of BS 5960, LRFD-AISC (Load and Resistant Factor Design-American Institute of Steel Construction) is considered for the formulation of moment resisting steel frame. Levy Flights is adapted to the simple hunting search algorithm for better search. For comparison, same design examples are also solved by using some other well-known search methods in the literature. Results reveal that hunting search shows good performance in finding optimum solutions for each design problem.
The culture of hunting is the culture of mankind and the hunting is also the mainspring of development of human culture. In our country the demand of hunting is increasing with the development of economy in 1980's. But we have no traditional hunting culture, so that the recent problem of hunting was caused and will be caused. So it is necessary that we have to establish the new culture of hunting and when we understand more exactly the concept of hunting, we can found the proper hunting culture.
The generators of a small size below 100Kw are often used as power suppliers for emergency only in most domestic telecommunication companies. Serious twisted waves occur due to the inflow of harmonies from the generator into a S-type rectifier. And the increasing by stages of load upon the rectifier end up a stoppage of power supply during the serious hunting, which makes it difficult to supply power securely on the other part as well as that of communications. In case of long time of power failure the generators of a small size will be essential because the battery for emergency has a limit in capacity. Therefore it is necessary to solve the problems concerning the generators. This study is focused on the identifying and solving the problem including use of SCR elements connected to the generators.
The purpose of this research is to analyze how the wage level of new job seekers in the platform labor market affects the period on getting the first job. Recently, the platform gets attention as one of alternatives to solve the increase of unemployment rate. It is important to create quality jobs that we build up a trust between employers and employees in the platform. Previous studies showed that feedback from previous employers is important for solving the information asymmetry problem between those people. However, there is no feedback for new job seekers who have not get the first job. Therefore, we focus on the fact that wages are presented by job seekers rather than employers in the platform, and we will figure out that the low wages of new job seekers may affect the shortening of job-hunting period. For this reason, we use 3,704 job seekers of Freelancer.com. Survival analysis shows that low wages for new job seekers have a significant impact on shortening job-hunting period.
Nature has provided inspiration for most of the man-made technologies. Scientists believe that dolphins are the second to humans in smartness and intelligence. Echolocation is the biological sonar used by dolphins for navigation and hunting in various environments. This ability of dolphins is mimicked in this paper to develop a new optimization method. Dolphin Echolocation Optimization (DEO) is an optimization method based on dolphin's approach for hunting food and exploration of environment. DEO has already been developed for discrete optimization search space and here it is extended to continuous search space. DEO has simple rules and is adjustable for predetermined computational cost. DEO provides the optimum results and leads to alternative optimality curves suitable for the problem. This algorithm has a few parameters and it is applicable to a wide range of problems like other metaheuristic algorithms. In the present work, the efficiency of this approach is demonstrated using standard benchmark problems.
NPC in game is an important factor to increase the fun of the game by cooperating with player or confrontation with player. NPC's behavior patterns in the previous games are limited. Also, there is not much difference in NPC's ability among the existing games because it's designed to FSM. Therefore, players who have matched with NPCs which have the characteristics may have difficulty to play. This paper is for improving the problem and production and evaluation of the game NPC behavior model based on wolves hunting model in real life. To achieve it, first, the research surveys and studies behavior states for wolves to capture prey in the real world. Secondly, it is implemented using the Unity3D engine. Third, this paper compares the implemented state transition probability to state transition probability in real world, state transition probability in general game. The comparison shows that the number of state transitions of NPCs increases, proportions of implemented NPC behavior patterns converges to probabilities of state transition in real-world. This means that the aggressive behavior pattern of NPC implemented is similar to the wolf hunting behavior pattern of the real world, and it can thereby provide more player experience.

The lateral vibrating motion of a railway vehicle over a certain critical speed is a well known problem in the field of train dynamics. It is known that the train equations of motion are strongly coupled and highly nonlinear with the motion and causing that it is very difficult to solve the equations simultaneously. In this paper, a 8 degree of feedom model of a railway vehicle was suggested to solve the rail vehicle lateral motion. In stead of solving the nonlinear equation simultaneously, statistical linearization technique was adopted to solve those equations. The analysis results from the statistical linearization method were directly compared with those from direct nonlinear equations and found that the linearization technique can be very effective and economical for railroad vehicle analysis. By the way, it was found that the analysis results can analytically explain the intermittent hunting phenomena which has been frequently observed in experiments.
Stepping motor normally operates without feedback and may loss the synchronization. This problem can be prevented by using positional feedback. This paper introduces one method for closed loop control of stepping motor and a method for combining full-step control and micro-step control. This combination controlling apparatus can perform position control with high accuracy in a high speed, so that it will not suffer from vibration (or hunting) problem when stopping motor. Controlling apparatus contains a position counter block for detecting rotor position of stepping motor, a driving block for supplying current to windings of stepping motor, a control block for comparing output signal of position counter block with command position (desired position) and outputting current command signal based on deviation between current position and command position of rotor. To output current command signal, the control block refers to a sine wave data table. This table contains value of duty cycle of Pulse Width Modulation signal. As the second object of this paper, the process of building this data table is also presented.

In this paper, we proposed the method to design fuzzy controller using the experience of the operating expert and experimental numeric data for the robust control about the noise and disturbance instead of the traditional PID controller for the main steam temperature control of the thermal power plant. The temperature of main steam temperature process has to be controlled uniformly for the stable electric power output. The process has the problem of the hunting for the cases of various disturbances. In that case, the manual action of the operator happened to be introduced in some cases. We adopted the TSK (Takagi-Sugeno-Kang) model as the fuzzy controller and designed the fuzzy rules using the informations extracted directly from the real plant and various operating condition to solve the above problems and to apply practically. We implemented the real fuzzy controller as the Function Block module in the DCS(Distributed Control System) and evaluated the feasibility through the experiment81 results of the simulation.

James C. Maxwell published a paper titled "On Governors" in the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London in 1868. However, this paper was ignored for about 80 years due to unreadability of the paper itself. In 1948, Norbert Wiener revived this paper and identified it as the first significant control theory paper, which gave Maxwell his due as the first contributor to this theory. The purpose of this article is to provide historical information on the origin of stability analysis through Maxwell's paper, and to revisit the key idea of the paper in view of the present stability theory with clear explanations. This article includes a proof and some illustrative figures of governors that were not shown in the original publication.
