  • The purpose of the present study was to improve the artistic qualities in the future fashion design by investigating how the art to wear was applied to the inspiration in the modern fashion design in the late 1990s. For this purpose the present paper examined characteristics in art to wear and their impact on modern fashion design in the late 1990s. Distinguished from the traditional costume, art to wear disregarded a fixed concept on design elements such as the socio-cultural images, materials, and forms. The artists in art to wear freely expressed their "selves" and their individuality to their works in a variety of ways. In fashion design in the late 1990s the creative characteristics of art to wear were reflected in four ways: (1) eco-look, (2) humor, (3) deformation, (4) materials. The present study suggests that the creativity of the art to wear can establish the potentials and possibility in modern fashion design, and art to wear can be a crucial mediator in opening art into the real world.

  • This study attempts to explain how communication technology impacts global creative trends. We explore global creative trends based on award-winning creative topics presented at the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. After analyzing award-winning topics, five main creative trends were selected with the keywords: technology, story-telling, social media, causes, and humor. The 2016 Cannes Lions Festival demonstrated that technology (i.e., virtual reality, artificial intelligence) has expanded the limits of creativity. Story-telling is still considered to be effective for raising audience attention. Social media enhances consumer engagement while nurturing future consumer relationships. Supporting social causes allows companies to garner goodwill from the public. Humor is powerful when it appropriately appeals to both products and customers.

  • Glaucoma is an eye disease which is caused by abnormal high IOP (Intra Ocular Pressure) in the eye. High IOP is caused by the aqueous humor which is produced consistently but not drained due to the malfunction of the trabecular system which has a role of draining the aqueous humor into the venous system. Currently, there are some methods to treat glaucoma, Among these, the use of implants is increasing in these days due to many problems in other methods. However, conventional implants are passive implants and have critical disadvantage. Therefore, it is needed to develop a new implant using MEMS structure which is capable of controlling the IOP actively and copes with personal difference of patients. An active glaucoma implant consists of the valve actuator, pressure sensor, controller, and power supply. In this paper the valve actuator is considered. We make experiments and simulations with the fabricated ...

  • The purpose of this study is to reveal that the deconstructive dis de phenomenon in contemporary fashion beauty design can be interpreted from the viewpoint of Korean aesthetics by having an open mind of coexistence. The typical characteristics of dis de phenomenon are decomposition, decentralization, and discontinuity, and these can be compared with beauty of non-artificialness, unity, and humor, which are characteristics of Korean aesthetics. In other words, the dis de-phenomenon rejects traditional composition and uniformized expression, and seeks various images by accepting the bi-national confrontation concept, this is similar to Korean aesthetics, which experienced atypical diversity by concentrating on the inner spirit rather than the outer form through indifference to technique, form, and honest human emotion.
