  • It is a proven fact with the opening of the Seoul metro line number 1 in 1974 traffic congestion on the roads has decreased and the efficiency of people transportation in general has greatly been enhanced in the downtown and surrounding areas of Seoul. Even today construction of new subway lines are under way and many more are being planned due to the easy access to stations, short waiting and average travel times, compared with personal vehicles, contributing to the efficiency of the public transportation systems that are linking the downtown areas and also the intercity systems in moving passengers during rush hour and times of special event. Since the labour costs of the train operator in any large city based subway system accounts for a major part of the operating costs per kilometer and to ensure cost efficient operations, especially during non-peak hours, it is necessary to implement an unmanned(auto-driven) subway system. In order to implement such a system it is imperative that the on-board and wayside signalling control systems be fully automated as well. Only through proper examination of safety procedures not only by the AUGT(Automated Urban Guided Transport)system but also by ail the international standards organizations involved can safely and stability be ensured.

Overexpression of twin-arginine translocation (TAT) pathway conferred immunity to Xanthomonas oryzae v. oryzae in rice

  • OsTAT encodes a twin-arginine translocator (TAT) pathway signal protein. It contains a TRANS membrane domain and a chloroplast transit peptide. mRNA transcription profiling of OsTAT1 revealed that it is highly overexpressed in the leaves corroborating reports on its role in chloroplast. Moreover, its level of expression is more pronounced during earlier stages (germination, 3-leaf stage, and maximum tillering) of growth in rice. A lower disease progress curve of bacterial blight is evident in transgenic lines compared with the wild type, Dongjin indicating its involvement in immunity to Xoo. Expression pattern following infection of Xoo strain K2 depicts highest levels at 4 and 8 hour post-inoculation which implies crucial induction of resistance during early response. This study initially reports a new overview on the biological functions of plant's TAT pathway. Further molecular and genetic analyses are underway to provide detailed involvement of OsTAT in disease resistance.

  • The research of the dentin bonding system was mainly on the chemistry and bonding strength. And in vitro assessement of biocompatibility of dentin bonding system was not completely developed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of several dentin primers. Scotchbond Multi-Purpose (3M Dental Products. USA). Gluma (BayerDental. Germany). All-Bond (Bisco. USA). ProBond (CaulkDensply, USA) and VeridonFil (Dongyang Nylon. Korea) were included. Cytotoxicity was tested using MTT cell viability test. 0.5 ul. 1 ul. 2 ul and 10 ul of each primer were added to the 96 well plate of incubated L929 cell lines. After 30-minute. 1. 4. 24 and 72-hour exposures. absorbance of L929 cells was observed with ELISA reader. All data were analyzed using t-test. All primers showed cytotoxicity on L929 cells under every conditions used in this study. Absorbance of L929 cells was decreased by time. Scotch bond group exhibited the lowest absorbance value in all exposure time and value.

B16세포주의 방사선 및 항암제감수성에 관한 실험적 연구 (AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE RADIOSENSITIVITY AND CHEMOSENSITIVITY OF B16 CELL LINE)

  • The purpose of this study was to aid in the prediction of tumor cell tolerance to radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. For this study, cell surviving curves were obtained for murine melanoma Bl6 cell line using semiautomated M1T assay. 2,4,6,8, 10Gy were irradiated at a dose rate of 210cGy/min using /sup 60/Co Irradiator ALOORADO 8. After irradiatior, B16 cell lines(2.5×10⁴ cells/ml) were exposed to bleomycin and cisplatin at concentration of 0.2㎍/㎖, 2㎍/㎖ and 20㎍/㎖ for I hour respectively. The viable cells were determined for each radiation dose and/or each concentration of drug. And they were compared to control values. The obtained results were as follows : 1. There was significant difference of surviving fraction at 4, 6, 8, 10Gy on B16 cell line(P<0.05). 2. There was significant difference of cytotoxicity between bleomycin and cisplatin at concentration of 0.2㎍/㎖ and 2㎍/㎖(P<0.05) on B16 cell line, but there was no significant difference of cytotoxicity at concentration of 20㎍/㎖ on B16 cell line. 3. There was significant difference of cytotoxicity of bleomycin after irradiation of 2Gy and 10Gy on B16 cell line(P<0.01). 4. There was significant difference of cytotoxicity of cisplatin at concentration of 20㎍/㎖ after irradiation on B16 cell line.

  • Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus ($5,000{\sim}25,000$ persons per hour and per direction). It is a high-tech system which operational capacity, punctuality and mobility are remarkably improved. There are some types of LRT systems such as monorail, tramway, AGT(Automated Guideway Transit), and so on. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. For the efficient management, economical construction, and safe operation of various LRT systems, the establishment of national standard is necessary such as vehicle standardized specification, vehicle performance test standard, vehicle safety standard, construction guide, operation regulation, etc. of LRT systems. This paper presents the standard specification of electrical equipment of linear induction motor type light rail vehicle, that is LIM AGT(AGT system propelled with linear induction motor) vehicle. The LIM AGT system has been applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) system of Canada and Yongin LRT is currently under construction.

Education, Industry 4.0 and Earnings: Evidence from Provincial-Level Data of Vietnam

  • This paper aims to analyze factors influencing earnings of workers in Vietnam using provincial-level data from 2016 to 2018. We show the important determinants of earnings of workers of more than 15 years old including working hour, labor force, life expectancy, education, regulation measured by Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and especially Industry 4.0, our major depart from literature proxies by government expenditure on science and technology, number of phone lines, and number of internet users. Working hours are a typical measurement of quantity of labor supplied. Labor force represents market size from the supply side. Life expectancy measures the health of laborers, a physical quality measure of workers. PCI stands for institutional status of the locality. Two most important factors of our interest are education, representing qualification of workers, and Industry 4.0, reflecting the new working environment of workers. By estimating a robust standard error fixed-effect model, we have evidence that all factors are significant in explaining earnings of Vietnamese workers. Education and IR4.0 play an important role in earnings of workers of Vietnam. Results also provide an estimation of Vietnam's labor supply in the context of Industry 4.0. In addition, findings contribute to explain the income discrepancy among Vietnamese provinces.

대.소조기시 한강하구 석모수로에서 단면 잔차류와 성층간의 관계 연구 (The Relation of Cross-sectional Residual Current and Stratification during Spring and Neap Tidal Cycle at Seokmo Channel, Han River Estuary Located at South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 강화도 서측에 위치한 조력 발전 유력 후보지인 석모수로의 북단과 남단의 2개 정선에서 13시간 연속으로 단면 유속과 염분 관측을 대,소조기시 각각 수행하여 단면 내 잔차류의 변화와 성층간의 관계를 분석 하였다. 석모수로의 염분 분포는 대,소조기에 따라 서로 다른 염분 구조 형태를 보이며, 염분의 침입 범위 또한 다르게 나타난다. 잔차류 성분은 13시간 유속 성분에서 최소 자승법을 이용하여 추출한 $M_2$분조와 $M_4$분조를 제거하여 구하였고, 석모수로 북단과 남단에서 표층의 잔차류 성분은 모두 남쪽 방향의 잔차류 성분을 보인다. 그러나 두 정선의 단면 저층에서는 표층과 저층간의 2층 흐름 구조를 만드는 북쪽 방향의 잔차류가 관측되는데 그 위치는 대,소조기에 따라 다르게 나타나 시,공간적으로 다른 결과를 보인다. 북쪽 방향의 잔차류와 성층의 관계를 분석하기 위해서 Richardson number와 Simpson-hunter index를 분석하였다. 이러한 결과를 종합할 때, 석모수로의 단면 잔차류 패턴은 Richardson number가 상대적으로 급격하게 커지고 Simpson-hunter index가 4 이상 나타나는 지역, 즉 성층이 강하게 나타나는 지역에서 2층 흐름 구조를 보인다.

방사선조사 후 유표피암종세포내 칼슘농도의 변화와 apoptosis 발현에 관한 연구 (A study of the [$Ca^{2+}$] and the Apoptosis of the KB Cell Lines after 10Gy Irradiation)

  • Purpose: Ionizing radiations have been reported as an apoptosis initiating stimulus in various cells and it has established that sustained elevations in [Ca/sup 2+/] can lead to DNA fragmentation by Ca/sup 2+/-dependent endonucleases, ultimately resulting in apoptotic cell death. The previous experiments have been reported by using primarily thymocytes and lymphocytes and the change of [Ca/sup 2+/] was measured only by minutes or hours respectively. We need to evaluate [Ca/sup 2+/] in both several minutes and hours after irradiation of radiation of radiation therapy and verify the apoptotic cells. Materials and Methods: We have measured [Ca/sup 2+/] in human gingival epitheloid cancer cell with 10Gy irradiation, at minutely intervals and hourly intervals using digitized video-intensified fluorescence microscopy and the fluorescent Ca/sup 2+/ indicator dye, fura-2. In order to find out that the transient rise in [Ca/sup 2+/] could induced apoptosis, cells were incubated for 1 hour at 37℃ with TdT enzyme, rinsed and resuspended containing fluorescence and observed under a confocal fluorescence microscope. MTT assay was done to determine cell activity and LDH assay was done to determine the amount of necrotic cells. Results: After irradiation, the transient and temporal increasing of [Ca/sup 2+/] in the KB cells was founded. Though, there was no change in the intracellular [Ca/sup 2+/] at 30 minutes and 2 hours after irradiation. We could detect of DNA fragmented cells at 4 hours after 10Gy irradiated cells. There were no significant differences between 4 hour, 1 day, 3 day cells. There were no significant differences in MTT and LDH assay between the irradiated group and the control group after 4 hours and 1 day. Though after 3 days there were differences in MTT and LDH assay between the irradiated group was significantly decreased than the control group, in LDH assay the number of necrotic cell death of the irradiated was higher than the control group. Conclusion: In KB cells there were incipient and temporal increasing of the [Ca/sup 2+/] with 10Gy irradiation and the apoptosis was founded from 4 hours later which was earlier than seeing of the change of the amount of the cellular ability and necrosis.

데이터마이닝 기법을 이용한 서울시 지하철역 승차인원 예측 (A study on the number of passengers using the subway stations in Seoul)

  • 지하철은 많은 승객들을 원거리까지 안전하고, 신속 정확하게 원하는 지점으로 대량 수송할 수 있는 친환경적인 교통수단이다. 지하철의 공익성을 증대시키기 위해서는 정확한 승객 수요 예측이 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구는 정확한 지하철 수요예측을 위하여, 군집분석을 통해 서울시 1-9호선 지하철역들을 군집화 하였다. 그 후, 전체 역과 각 군집 별 최종 예측 모형을 제시하였다. 군집화 결과, 294개의 역이 3개로 군집화 되었으며 그룹 1은 상공업지구, 그룹 2는 주상복합지구, 그룹 3은 주거지구가 중심이 되는 역들로 나타났다. 그 후 각 군집 별로 다양한 데이터 마이닝 기법을 이용해 지하철 승차인원 예측 모형을 제시하고, 수요 예측에 중요한 영향을 미치는 요인들을 도출하였다. 그리고 최종 모형을 바탕으로 2018년 10월에 개통될 서울시 9호선 3단계 연장역인 8개 신설역의 3개월 수요를 예측하였다. 8개 신설역의 월평균 시간당 평균 승차인원은 약 241에서 452명, 월평균 시간당 최대 승차인원은 약 969에서 1,515명으로 추정되었다. 본 분석의 최종 모형을 활용한 신설역의 지하철 수요 예측은 대중교통 정책 결정을 위한 기초자료로 활용되어 효율적인 지하철 운영 방안 수립에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

제주 북서해역 선박기인 해양폐기물 발생량 분석 (Analysis of the Generation Amount of Abandoned Marine Waste from Ships in the Northwest Sea of Jeju Island)

  • 제주해역은 많은 상선 및 어선들이 항해를 하고, 자망, 트롤 등 다양한 어구를 활용하여 어로활동을 하고 있다. 그 동안 해양폐기물 수집은 주로 제주도 해안 및 연안해역에서 시행되고 있으나, 연근해 해역에서 발생되는 해양폐기물 발생에 대한 수집 및 연구가 미미하였다. 이에 본 연구는 제주대학교 실습선을 이용하여 제주도 북서해역에 침전한 해양폐기물을 수거하고 각 폐기물별로 관련 선박의 항적을 분석하였다. 또한 일정 구역 및 선박 체류시간별로 얼마나 많은 해양폐기물을 투기하고 있는지 분석하기 위해 선박자동식별장치 항적데이터를 활용하여 대상해역에 선박이 체류한 시간을 추출하여, 어선업종별로 1 ㎢ 단위구역에서 시간당 해양폐기물 발생양을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 연근해 해역은 어선기인 폐어구가 대다수였으며, 그중 자망 및 통발 어구가 많은 비율을 차지하고 있었다. 본 연구에서 단위구역에서 시간당 해양폐기물 발생량은 자망어업이 평균 0.94 kg, 통발어업이 3.49 kg, 저인망어업이 0.10 kg, 연승어업이 0.11 kg, 기타어업이 0.02 kg으로 산출되었다. 이 결과를 활용하여 향후 연근해 수중환경 정화시 해양폐기물 발생이 높은 해역위주로 해양폐기물 수거가 가능할 것이다.
