열간가압 소결법에 의한 Y1Ba2Cu3Ox 초전도체의 제조 (Fabrication of Y1Ba2Cu3Ox Superconductor by Hot-pressing)

  • The high TcY1Ba2Cu3Ox superconductor has recently gained widespread interest in the scientific community. The principal problems at the present time are how to densify this material and how to raise the critical current density. To date the majority of samples have had densities of 90%(of theoretical) or less. In this study we report that we obtained density of 96% by Hot-Pressing method.

요소-멜라민수지로 접착된 파티클보드의 열압동안 포름알데히드 배출량 측정 (Measurement of Formaldehyde Emissions during Hot-Pressing of Particleboard Bonded with Melamine-Urea-Formaldihyde Resin)

  • 요소-멜라민수지 접착제를 실험실에서 수지 접착제 고형분량에 대해 5% 멜라민을 첨가하여 파티클보드 제조용으로 합성하였다. 합성한 요소-멜라민 수지를 이용하여 전건 목재파티클의 무게에 대해 접착제 첨가량 6, 8%와 열압시간 3, 4, 5분에서 실험실 파티클보드를 접착하는 열압시간동안 배출되는 가스를 증류수에 용해·포집하여 얻어진 용액으로부터 포름알데히드 배출량을 미국 National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 3500의 방법에 의해 분석·비교하였다. 포름알데히드 배출량을 측정하여 분석한 결과는 파티클보드를 열압하는 시간동안 배출되는 가스 중에서 포름알데히드량은 요소-멜라민수지 접착제의 첨가량과 열압시간에 대해 통계적으로 유의하게 차이가 있다는 것을 보여줬다. 파티클보드의 성능평가 결과는 3분의 열압시간에서 접착된 파티클보드의 박리강도는 KS F 3104 파티클보드 8.0형의 최소요구치를 만족시키는 것을 보여줬다.

  • In this work we demonstrate the hot-embossing process under different forming conditions such as forming temperature, load, and holding time in pressing, in order to determine the suitable conditions required for linear patterning on polymer plates (PC). Results showed that the replicated pattern depth increased in proportion to an increase in the forming temperature, load, and time. The reduction of the workpiece thickness increased according to the holding time in the pressing process. In the process of time, the reduction ratio of the workpiece thickness decreased due to the surface area increment of the workpiece, while the pressure on the workpiece declined. In order to reduce the bulging ratio we introduced a temperature difference between the upper and the lower punch.

Effect of Different Pressing Processes and Density on Dimensional Stability and Mechanical Properties of Bamboo Fiber-based Composites

  • In this study, the dimensional stability and mechanical properties of bamboo fiber-based composites (BFBCs) were studied at two pressing manufacturing processes, i.e., hot- and cold- pressing, and were compared with three density parameters (1.0, 1.1, and $1.2kg/m^3$). Width swelling ratio (WSR), thickness swelling ratio (TSR), and water absorption ratio (WAR) were calculated for water immersions of 4 and 28 h. WSR, TSR, and WAR for specimens immersed for 28 h were higher than those for 4 h treatment, which shows that the immersion time has a significant influence on the dimensional stabilities of BFBCs. Moreover, the positive linear relations between density and dimensional were observed at both the pressing ways, indicating that the WSR, TSR, and WAR decreased with an increase in the density of BFBCs. The compressive strength, shear strength, modulus of rupture (MOR), and modulus of elasticity (MOE) were determined. The compressive strength, MOR, and MOE of hot-pressed specimens were significantly higher than those for the cold-pressed specimens, which are also directly proportional to density. Moreover, the samples with the highest density of $1.2kg/m^3$ performed high values on mechanical properties in both the manufacturing methods.

합판용 페놀수지 접착제의 속경화 (Fast-Curing of Phenol·Formaldehyde Resin Adhesives for Plywood)

  • To accelerate the cure of phenolic resin adhesives for plywood, the complexation with melamine resin and the addition of cure-accelerating agents were discussed. The hot-pressing temperature and time of phenol resin could be decreased by complexation with melamine resin. but the wet glue-joints strength of phenol melamine resin was lower than that of ordinary phenol resin in case of plywood using spruce veneer at core layer. Among the tested cure-accelerating agents. the sodium carbonate showed the greatest effect on shortening gelation time of phenolic resin. In addition, in the manufacturing scale test, the hot-pressing time of phenol resin with the addition of 5 parts sodium carbonate could be shortened about 20% compared with ordinary phenol resin which had same glue-joints properties.

요소수지접착제(尿素樹脂接着劑)를 사용(使用)한 곰솔 집성재(集成材)의 제조조건(製造條件)이 접착성질(接着性質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Influence of Adhesion Condition on the Laminated Wood of Pinus thunbergii glued with Urea-formaldhyde Resin)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the block shear strength of the 2ply laminated wood composed of Pinus thunbergii with ureaformaldehyde resin as adhesives according to pressure (6, 9, 12, 15kg/$cm^2$), pressing time(5, 10, 20, 30 hrs.), amount of spread(54, 108, 217, 324g/$cm^2$), hardener(10, 20, 30, 40% of 10% $NH_4CL$ on resin) and extender(0, 5, 10, 15% wheat flour on resin), and the bending strength and bending young's modulus of laminated beam according to the number of ply. The results were summarized as follows; 1. According to pressing pressure with amount of spread 217g/$cm^2$ both dry and wet shear strength of laminated wood showed the highest in 15kg/$cm^2$, and hot-cold soaking treatment showed the highest in 9kg/$cm^2$, while all shear strength of dry, wet and hot-cold soaked laminated wood have been reduced with the increasing of pressing time. 2. According to amount of spread, adhesion strength with the dry, wet and hot-cold soaking treatments revealed the highest in 217g/$cm^2$ and have been reduced under or over 217g/$cm^2$ of spread. 3. According to addition of hardener and extender, all shear strength of laminated block with the dry, wet and hot-cold soaking treatments have been reduced in increasing of addition amount of hardener and extender. The bending strength of beam according to the number of ply showed the highest in 2ply laminated wood and horizontal loading beam to glue line had the higher in strength than the vertical loading.

Phenol-Formaldehyde (PF) Resin Bonded Medium Density Fiberboard

  • 본 연구는 통상적으로 충밀도 섬유판 제조에 사용되고있는 요소수지를 페놀수지로 대체함으로써 그 장단점을 찾아 보기 위해 실행되었다. 페놀수지을 이용해 제조한 중밀도 섬유판의 성능은 표준 요건을 충족시켰으며 높은 내구성을 보였다. 아울러 24 시간 냉수 침적후 두께팽창은 2 퍼센트 이하로 낮게 나타났다. 요소수지를 페놀수지로 대체했을 경우 단점들은 비교적 높은 수지함량 (8% 섬유전건종량기준)과 긴 열압시간 (7 분)으로 판명되었다. 이러한 결과들은 페놀수지을 사용한 중밀도 섬유판제조시 열압공정의 최적화가 되어야함을 시사하였다.

액상소결 시의 β-SiC의 입자성장 방지 (Prevention of Grain Growth during the Liquid-Phase Assisted Sintering of β-SiC)

  • In our previous studies, continuous SiC fiber-reinforced SiC-matrix composites ($SiC_f$/SiC) had been fabricated by two different slurry infiltration methods: vacuum infiltration and electrophoretic deposition (EPD). 12 wt% of $Al_2O_3-Y_2O_3$-MgO with respect to SiC powder was used as additives for liquid-phase assisted sintering. After hot pressing at $1750^{\circ}C$ under 20 MPa for 2 h in Ar atmosphere, a high composite density could be achieved for both cases, whereas the problems such as large grain size and non-uniform distribution of liquid phase were observed, which was resulted in the relatively poor mechanical properties of composites. Therefore, efforts have been made to reduce the grain growth during the sintering, including the optimization for hot pressing condition and utilization of spark plasma sintering using a SiC monolith. Based on the results, spark plasma sintering was found to be effective method in decreasing the amount of sintering additive, time and grain growth, which will be explained in comparison to the results of hot pressing in this paper.

  • FeAl 기지 복합재료는 hot-pressing에 의해서 성공적으로 제조할 수 있다. 이러한 FeAl 합금의 기계적 특성에 대한 연구는 많이 진행되었으나 플라즈마 질화에 의한 표면 경화특성에 관한 연구는 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 hot-pressing으로 제조된 소결 복합재료의 미세구조와 플라즈마 질화처리시 표면경화의 관계를 분석하였다. FeAl을 기지로 하는 합금은 플라즈마 질화처리에 의해서 표면경도가 상승하는 경향을 보였고, 이러한 경향은 질화처리 시간이 증가할수록 더욱 뚜렷하였다($\textrm{H}_{\textrm{v}}$ 100gf, 확산층 : 1100~1450kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$, matrix : 330~360kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$). FeAl 합금으로 플라즈마 질화처리에 의해서 매우 우수한 표면경화특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 확산층은 플라즈마 질화처리시간이 증가할수록 두꺼워졌으며, SiC(sub)p의 함유량이 증가함에 따라 확산층은 감소하였다.

폐기 목질 재료로 제조한 학생용 책상 천판의 성능에 미치는 성형조건의 영향 (Effect of Moulding Conditions on Properties of Table Top for Student Desk Manufactured by Wood Waste Materials)

  • 폐기 목질재료를 사용하여 학생용 책상 천판의 성형시 각 제조조건에 따른 천판의 성능을 검토하였다. 책상 천판의 파티클 구성은 고운 파티클과 거친 파티클을 적절히 혼합한 것이 고운 파티클이나 거친 파티클만으로 제조한 것보다는 전체적으로 성능이 양호하였으며, 특히 표층에는 고운 파티클을 중충에는 거친 파티클을 구성하는 것이 표면 마감성이 가장 우수하였다. 그리고 밀도가 높을수록 박리강도, 휨 강도는 우수하나, 흡수두께 팽창율은 증가하였으며, 수지 도포량이 많을수록 박리강도, 흡수두께 팽창율은 양호하나, 포름알데히드의 방출량은 높았다. 가압온도는 높을수록 대부분의 성능이 향상되었으며, 190℃가 가장 적절하였다. 가압시간은 1단계 2분과 2단계 2분이 비교적 양호하나 2단계의 가압시간을 1분으로 단축하여도 성능에는 큰 문제가 없어 앞으로 생산성의 향상을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
