An attempt was made to study circulatory and respiratory responses to the passive tilt. Anesthetized dogs were tilted from horizontal to upright $(+90^{\circ})$ and head down $(-90^{\circ})$ position. The arterial blood pressure was decreased in the upright position and was decreased slightly in the head down position comparing to that in the horizontal position. Cardiac index also decreased in the both upright and head down positions. The total systemic vascular resistance was slightly increased in the upright position and was markedly increased in the head down position. The mean pulmonary arterial pressure was significantly decreased in the both upright and head down positions. The total pulmonary vascular resistance was decreased in the both upright and head down positions. Oxygen consumption was slightly decreased in the upright position, whereas it was slightly increased in the head down position. The A-V $O_2$ difference (vol. %) was slightly increased in the upright position and increased in the head down position. From the above results, process of the circulatory compensation to the gravity in the Passive tilting test was discussed. Neuronal cardiovascular regulation to the gravity and tile adaptation of capacitance vessles to hydrostatic stress and oxygen consumption concerning anoxic endurance of the brain were also discussed.

This study was intended to compare and evaluate the adhesion of High flowing Self-compacting Concrete (HSCC), Conventional Concrete (CC) and deformed bar based on concrete strength 3 (30, 50 and 70 MPa), among the factors affecting the bond strength between concrete and rebar, after fabricating the specimen by modifying the rebar position at Horizontal reinforcement at bottom position (HB), horizontal reinforcement at top position (HT) and vertical reinforcement type (V). As a result of measuring bond strength of HB/HT rebar to evaluate the factor of the rebar at top position, the bond strength of HB/HT rebar at 50 and 70 MPa was 1.3 or less and at 30 MPa, HSCC and CC appeared to be 1.2 and 2,1, respectively. Thus, when designing the anchorage length according to the concrete structure design standard (2007) at HSCC 30, 50 and 70 MPa, it would be desirable to reduce the correction factor of anchorage length of the horizontal reinforcement at top position, which is suggested for the reinforcement at top position, to less than 1.3 of CC.

Background: Shoulder horizontal abduction in the prone position (SHAP) has been reported as an effective exercise to strengthen the lower trapezius. However, the effects of pre-emptive scapular posterior tilt on scapular muscle activity and scapulohumeral movements during SHAP have not been examined. Objectives: To examine the effect of the addition of scapular posterior tilt on muscle activity of the trapezius and posterior deltoid, and scapular posterior tilt and shoulder horizontal abduction, during SHAP. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Fifteen healthy male subjects performed two types of SHAP: general and modified SHAP (SHAP combined with pre-emptive scapular posterior tilt). To perform modified SHAP, pre-emptive scapular posterior tilt training was performed prior to the modified SHAP. Muscle activity of the middle and lower trapezius and posterior deltoid, and the amount of scapular posterior tilt and shoulder horizontal abduction, were measured during two types of SHAP. Results: Muscle activity of the lower trapezius and scapular posterior tilt was significantly increased during the modified SHAP, while muscle activity of the posterior deltoid and the amount of shoulder horizontal abduction were significantly decreased. However, the middle trapezius muscle activity did not change during the modified SHAP. Conclusion: The SHAP with pre-emptive scapular posterior tilt can be useful to strengthen the lower trapezius.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of head position changes on vertical and horizontal magnification in dental panoramic radiographs. Materials and Methods: Five 4 mm metal balls were placed above alveolar crest of dry skull considering extraction socket and dental arch. Panoramic radiographs were taken by OP-100D (Instrumentarium Imaging Co., Tuusula, Finland) at proper and rotated head position along the sagittal and transverse axis at 3 - $20^{\circ}$ upwardly, downwardly, to the left and to the right rotation. Images were stored in DICOM files and were measured by ruler equipped within INFINITT PACS software. Results: The mean horizontal magnification was $1.22{\pm}0.01-1.44{\pm}0.01$ and mean vertical magnification was $1.29{\pm}0.00-1.35{\pm}0.02$ at standard head position. There was statistical significance of horizontal magnification between the anterior ($1.24{\pm}0.02-1.31{\pm}0.03$) and the posterior area ($1.40{\pm}0.03-1.33{\pm}0.02$) (P < 0.05). Vertical magnification resulted in less variation ($1.24{\pm}0.01-1.37{\pm}0.02$) than horizontal magnification ($0.88{\pm}0.03-3.73{\pm}0.16$) according to the rotation. There was statistical significant difference on horizontal magnification (P < 0.05). Conclusion: In rotated head position, the horizontal magnification should be considered because these can cause distortion on panoramic radiographs.
The Purpose of this study is analysis characteristic of grasping power with each different shoulder horizontal angle. Twenty female university students with no shoulder dysfuction participated subject in three different positions of shoulder horizontal flexion with standing posture, shoulder 0° flexion, elbow 90° flexion, forearm 90° pronation, different positions is followed : shoulder 0° horizontal adduction shoulder 40° horizontal adduction, shoulder 40° horizontal abduction. The One-way repeated ANOVA test was used to determine the different in grip strength on three shoulder horizontal positions. On the average, in the hand grip strength, the horizontal neutral position is higher than horizontal adduction position with significant value. In particular, shoulder horizontal aduction was measured lowest grip strength between three positions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the normal range of condylar movement of normal adults. The author has observed roentgenographic images of four serial positions of condylar head taken by modified transcranail lateral oblique projection. The serial positions are centric occlusion, rest position, 1 inch open position and maximal open position. The results were obtained as follow; 1. Inter-incisal distance was 46.85㎜ in maximal open position. 2. The length between the deepest point of glenoid fossa and summit of condylar head in rest position was wider than that in centric occlusion by 0.8㎜. 3. In 1 inch open position, condylar head moved forward from the standard line in 12.64㎜ of horizontal direction and moved downwards from the standard line in 1.84㎜ of vertical direction. 4. In maximal open position, condylar head moved forward from the standard line in 19.06㎜ of horizontal direction and moved downwards from thestanard line in 0.4㎜ of vertical direction. 5. In centric occlusion, the width between glenoid fossa and margin of condylar head was greater in the posterior portion than in the anterior portion by 0.4㎜. 6. Except for the estimated figures of 1 inch open position, all of the estimated figures was greater in male than in female.
The position of stereoscopic objects is an important parameter to induce three-dimensional effects such as convergence control and image distortions. There are three kinds of stereoscopic cameras : Parallel, Toed-in, and Horizontal-Moving cameras. In this paper we proposed the method for estimating stereoscopic object position with a horizontal-moving camera. In the previous methods, viewing angle ratios are used to estimate the object positions. Our method based on the horizontal movements of the camera to estimate the positions. Using geometrical models of shooting and display we experimented with two methods. Results of experiments showed the distance of stereoscopic objects on virtual screen related to horizontal movement.
The author studied 21 adenoid hypertrophied children and 50 normal children by the horizontal, vertical and angular measurements to analyze, the effects of the lymphadenoid hypertrophy to the tongue, mandible, and hyoid bone position. The results were as follows; 1. The tongue of the Adenoid hypertrophy children was positioned mon anterior and lower than that of the normal children. 2. The horizontal, vertical, and angular measurements of the mandible position were larger in the experimental group and especially ANS to ME, PNS to MP, PTM to MP, PP to MP, FOP to MP showed statistically significant difference. 3. The measurements of the hyoid bone position were also larger in the experimental group.

Panoramic radiography is convenient in clinic and visualizes those areas which other technique do not give. But the technique has limitation of image distortion which results from the relationship of the ramus to the focal trough and from the direction of the central ray. This study is, using 7 dry skulls, to determine the effect of rotation of patient's head on reducing those distortion and determine the magnification ratio of images of mandibular condyle in rotated patient head position. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Generally, in panoramic radiography the anterolateral portion of the mandibular condyle was best to be visualized. 2. There are no significant difference between the image readability of anteromedial portion and that of anterocentral portion of the mandibular condyle. 3. Anterolateral portion of the mandibular condyle was better visualized in rotated head position by 20 degree or horizontal condylar inclination than in conventional position or in rotated head position by 10 degree. 4. The magnification ratio of the anteroposterior diameter in the image of mandibular condyle was least in the rotated head position by horizontal inclination of the mandibular condyle and was largest by 20 degree.

In this paper, we propose the horizontal line detection using the Haar-like features and linear regression in infrared images. In the marine environment horizon image is very useful information on a variety of systems. In the proposed method Haar-like features it was noted that the standard deviation be calculated in real time on a static area. Based on the pixel position, calculating the standard deviation of the around area in real time and, if the reaction is to filter out the largest pixel can get the energy map of the area containing the straight horizontal line. In order to select a horizontal line of pixels from the energy map, we applied the linear regression, calculating a linear fit to the transverse horizontal line across the image to select the candidate optimal horizontal. The proposed method was carried out in a horizontal line detecting real infrared image experiment for day and night, it was confirmed the excellent detection results than the legacy methods.
