Hypertension, a representative chronic disease, is a disease of increasing prevalence from middle age. To effectively manage hypertension from middle age, it is necessary to revise lifestyle based on subjective health awareness. The subjects of this study were 2,254 middle-age with hypertension who were 30-64 years of age among the 2014-17 national health and nutrition survey. Study variables consisted of general, physical, and psychological factors. For data analysis, compound statistics were made using SPSS 25.0 program and then complex statistics. The results of this study showed that the factors that significantly influenced the subjective health of the subjects were sex, age, economic level, number of households, home ownership, stress, quality of life, and their explanatory power was 20.4% (F = 12.58, p<.001). This study measured the degree of the ADL of crippled persons by a modified Barthel Index including 11 items. 73.5% of them were fully independent, 8.5% required minimal help, 2.7% required moderate help, 6.0% required substantial help and 9.4% were unable to perform task. In response to the 11 items of ADL, crippled persons required more help in stair climbing, ambulation and bathing than in other items. 4. In responding to concerning health problems, 10.3% of the subjects replied with incontinence, 8.5% malnutrition, 7.6% fecal incontinence and bedsores 2.6%. Chronic diseases which needs treatment were chronic pain(61.0 %), hypertension(16.5%) and diabetes(16.5%) 5. To the question of what type of rehabilitation services subjects required, chronic diseases management(52.1%) and physical therapy (41.2%) were the highest. Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the roles and practices of occupational therapists in public health centers based on their working experience of occupational therapists who are working in these facilities. Methods : We used Giorgi's descriptive phenomenological research method. Six occupational therapists were interviewed, and their recorded data were analyzed using Claizzi's thematic analysis. Results : As a result, 4 categories, 16 themes, and 24 elements were elicited. The major roles of occupational therapists in public health centers were the evaluation of clients, home-visit occupational therapy, management of dementia programs and community connection projects. Interventions that are needed to create a healthy community include case and program management, compensatory approaches, and healthy lifestyle interventions. The difficulties experienced by occupational therapists include their limited number job insecurity, performance-oriented administrative policy, and the lack of communication among professionals. Occupational therapists require education in health management and practice in public health centers to build their capacities. Conclusion : The results of this study could be used for guidelines for occupational therapists who work in community healthcare centers, as well as basic training for competent occupational therapists in the community.

This study examined the relationship between mothers' consciousness of diet and their infant feeding methods and weaning practices. Consciousness of diet analyzed from 17 questions concerning the attitudes and opinions of diet was classified into 6 categories using the factor analysis. These categories were the faithfulness of diet, the health-directed dietary practices, the application of health information, the application of information about food and nutrition, the sincerity to meal preparation, and dietary habits. The 400 mothers selected randomly from Wonju area were surveyed. The results obtained from the study were summarized as follows. Weaning was implemented earlier by the group with better education career and with the exact knowledge of weaning. Factors associated with infant feeding methods included some sociodemographic characteristics such as birth order, mothers' employment state and income level and mothers' effort toward faithfulness of diet. The use of health-foods and nutrient supplements were prefered by the groups used bottle-feeding method. The health condition of the infants was influenced by mother's will to carry out the health information rather than infant feeding methods and weaning foods used. Mothers who perceived the importance of diet for health and consumed more milk had healthier babies, and their dietary habits were more favorable. The subjects who self-recognized the meaning of weaning and who believed that earlier weaning was good for baby or delayed weaning was the cause of anemia and poor appetite, took advantage of the information about food and nutrition as well as prefered the health-directed dietary practices. Mothers who retried to feed the weaning food rejected by baby before, applied the dietary information to the real meal management more actively and had a more desirable dietary habits. In those cases the baby had improved health condition. Those who were interested in the meaning of weaning and the nutritious effect of weaning foods, revealed significantly higher tendency on the performance of cooking information and the more confidence to the health information from advertisement.
The public health service center and its branch are, as one of public institution, responsible for providing non-profitable medical service to local residents, which can't be addressed by private medical institutes. In addition, as a planning coordinator, they need to manage local medical resources effectively to make sure local residents can be offered good-quality health service fairly and impartially. The purpose of this study was to highlight the importance of physical therapy in public health service center's successful role performance, one of treatment to which local residents had a direct access. For attaining the purpose, an investigation was made into the actual facilities of public health service center and its branches in North Cholla province, the extent of use of physicaltherapy room, and the general characteristics of physical therapists. And literatures concerned were referred to. As a result, the dominant opinion was that the current physicaltherapy room shoulder be more reinforced(38.9%) or that it should he kept as it was(46.5%). Besides, the physical therapists investigated still were serving in a poor working condition. To elevate the quality and quantity of medical service, the current way to employ expert personnels temporarily or not to guarantee the position of physiotherapists should be removed immediately. Instead, physicaltherapists should be employed as regular public official. As, in home-visit project, physiotherapist are expected to play a bigger role in rehabilitation care or the management of patients with chronic disease, the physicaltherapy room should be increased and more physicaltherapists should be provided to health service institutions.
Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of the Oral Health Education Program (OHEP) on the change in the children's brushing behavior and reduction in the dental plaque index (PI) and to identify changes in their parents' perception of oral health. Methods: The OHEP was applied 44 children recruited from two childcare centers. We conducted a self-reported survey of the parents at baseline and evaluated the oral conditions of the children at baseline and after 5 weeks. Their brushing behavior was assessed once a week during the OHEP intervention period and daily at home thereafter. We measured the PI after a 12-week follow-up and performed repeated measures analysis of varience. Results: The average PI score of children significantly decreased at week 5 as compared to the baseline (1.90±0.53, p<0.001), despite a substantial increase in week 12 (2.67±0.08, p<0.001). OHEP was effective in reducing the PI score and modifying their brushing behavior. Conclusions: OHEP effectively modified the brushing the behavior of the children. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and expand a systematic oral health education program to promote self-management of oral health in children.

Recent changes in health care environment including aging population and prevalence of chronic disease encourage the adoption of new innovative technological solutions including wearable vital sensors, wireless networks, and smart phone. In this paper, we present an effective at-home lifestyle monitoring system that can be used for self-management and health intervention of patient himself in the Management-by-Exception perspectives. We implemented the filtering and queuing algorithms as a preprocessor of monitoring system to enhance efficiency of proposed system, and the effective UX design for self-management of patients themselves. The 94,467 actual clinic data was used to test the efficiency of the proposed system. As as a result, 64.8% of the incoming vital data was identified to be filtered out.
