A mobile ad-hoc network routing protocols for transmission of multimedia contents need to have low delay time and to maintain the established route because it should secure quality of service(QoS) of the network. In this paper, the proposed protocol, termed HODMRP (History-based On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol), is enhanced On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP) by adding the criterion which is the session history for establishing route. The characteristic of this protocol is that data can be transmitted using the redundant route which is already selected by session history, if it occurs that the route is broken, HODMRP have better Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) value and lower delay time than ODMRP by the simulation results.
There are many algorithms to improve the network traffic and to avoid losing packets in the network. This paper proposed determining the shortest paths for hops, which are in the middle of the source and destination. The shortest path in this paper means the fastest path between them. Recently, dynamic routing algorithm is currently used now but this paper suggests the fastest paths between the source and the destination is by using the record of the network traffic history. People are using the networking and the network traffic is always corresponding to how many people use the networking in specific time. Therefore, I can predict the network condition by referring to the history of network traffic record, and then the shortest path can be produced without using RIP too much. It will be helpful to improve the network traffic.
Mobile nodes can't always connect each other in DTNs (delay tolerant networks). Many DTN routing protocols that favor the "multi-hop forwarding" are proposed to solve these network problems. But they also lead to intolerant delivery cost so that designing a overhead-efficient routing protocol which is able to perform well in delivery ratio with lower delivery cost at the same time is valuable. Therefore, we utilize the small-world property and propose a new delivery metric called multi-probability to design our relay node selection principles that nodes with lower delivery predictability can also be selected to be the relay nodes if one of their history nodes has higher delivery predictability. So, we can find more potential relay nodes to reduce the forwarding overhead of successfully delivered messages through our proposed algorithm called HESnW. We also apply our new messages copies allocation scheme to optimize the routing performance. Comparing to existing routing algorithms, simulation results show that HESnW can reduce the delivery cost while it can also obtain a rather high delivery ratio.
This paper presents a constrained-based routing (CBR) algorithm called, Dynamic Possible Path per Link (D-PPL) routing algorithm, for MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks. In MPLS on-line routing, future traffics are unknown and network resource is limited. Therefore many routing algorithms such as Minimum Hop Algorithm (MHA), Widest Shortest Path (WSP), Dynamic Link Weight (DLW), Minimum Interference Routing Algorithm (MIRA), Profiled-Based Routing (PBR), Possible Path per Link (PPL) and Residual bandwidth integrated - Possible Path per Link (R-PPL) are proposed in order to improve network throughput and reduce rejection probability. MIRA is the first algorithm that introduces interference level avoidance between source-destination node pairs by integrating topology information or address of source-destination node pairs into the routing calculation. From its results, MIRA improves lower rejection probability performance. Nevertheless, MIRA suffer from its high routing complexity which could be considered as NP-Complete problem. In PBR, complexity of on-line routing is reduced comparing to those of MIRA, because link weights are off-line calculated by statistical profile of history traffics. However, because of dynamic of traffic nature, PBR maybe unsuitable for MPLS on-line routing. Also, both PPL and R-PPL routing algorithm we formerly proposed, are algorithms that achieve reduction of interference level among source-destination node pairs, rejection probability and routing complexity. Again, those previously proposed algorithms do not take into account the dynamic nature of traffic load. In fact, future traffics are unknown, but, amount of previous traffic over link can be measured. Therefore, this is the motivation of our proposed algorithm, the D-PPL. The D-PPL algorithm is improved based on the R-PPL routing algorithm by integrating traffic-per-link parameters. The parameters are periodically updated and are dynamically changed depended on current incoming traffic. The D-PPL tries to reserve residual bandwidth to service future request by avoid routing through those high traffic-per-link parameters. We have developed extensive MATLAB simulator to evaluate performance of the D-PPL. From simulation results, the D-PPL improves performance of MPLS on-line routing in terms of rejection probability and total throughput.

Communication infrastructure supports wide variety of mobile services such as photo and file sharing, location tracking, social network services and instant messaging. However, instances like power-loss and natural disasters disrupt these communication infrastructures unable to render support to these mobile services. Delay-tolerant networks (DTNs) offer a solution to these problems at hand. By utilizing mobility and opportunistic contacts among mobile devices, a plausible communication network can be establish and enable support to mobile applications. This paper presents an energy-efficient, reliable message delivery routing scheme with message prioritization rules for DTN. It uses the context information of nodes (mobile devices) such as the contact history (location and time of contact), speed/velocity, moving direction to determine the best forwarders among nodes in the network. The remaining energy of the nodes is also used to determine the message types a node can deliver successfully. The simulation results show that proposed approach outperforms Epidemic and Prophet routing schemes in terms of delivery ratio, overhead ratio, delivered messages per types and remaining energy.

In this paper we consider methods for selecting the next tracing node that take advantage of the history of traced positions during the packet-tracing. In the meantime, the proposed routing strategy that counters the tracing is to design the routing path is such a way that nodes on it are not close to the nodes whose location privacy is needed and zigzag or back-and-forth movements hardly take place. In simulations, the ratios of successful tracing were largely improved. It was shown that our routing scheme allows more data packets to be delivered to the destination while, enticing the tracer to move more long distances in the presence of multiple assets.

The WRAP-SALT (Water Rights Analysis Package-SALT) simulation includes computation of end-of-month reservoir storage concentrations and mean monthly reservoir outflow concentrations for each month of the simulation. The model computes reservoir storage loads and concentrations based on load balance accounting algorithms and computes concentrations of water released and withdrawn from a reservoir as a function of the volume-weighted mean concentration of the water stored in the reservoir in the current month or previous months. A load budget accounting of the various component load inflows and outflows entering and leaving a reservoir is performed. A time history of storage concentrations computed for previous months is maintained for use in the lag procedure. This study presents computational methods for routing salinity through reservoirs for incorporation into WRAP-SALT simulation routines and methods for determining values for the parameters of the routing methods.

Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is a networking architecture that is designed to solve network problem in unstable and stressed environments using the Store-Carry-Forward method. Different form general networks, DTN does not guarantee the end-to-end connectivity, it is hard for the exiting TCP/IP based protocols to normally work due to the characteristic such as large latency and unstable link connectivity. And the condition that send massage without the information of the destination occurs frequently. Thus, suitable routing protocols for DTN are required and being researched. In this paper, we propose a novel routing protocol for DTN utilizing epidemic and prediction based algorithm to prevent the defect of previously DTN routing protocols such as the absence of the holistic view of the network. Proposed algorithm predicted destination using the mobility information recorded in neighbor node's history and utilize epidemic based algorithm when occurred condition without destination's information. This algorithm is enhanced in terms of delivery ratio, decreases latency and overhead in sparse network such as DTN.

The traffic volume will be increased and the traffic of larger vessel could be multiplied in the Pohang port by the opening of the Young-il new port in 2006. Unfortunately, however, potential danger factors to the safe navigation, disordered navigation and traffic congestion are still existing in the Pohang port and approaching waters. This paper describes the status of marine traffic flow and navigational characteristics based on the marine traffic survey using the exclusive software, and the results of marine traffic survey classify into ship's type, size and track history of passing ships through the statistical methods. Finally the examinations of marine traffic route, traffic flow and navigational characteristics are discussed. These results can be used for the best design of ship's routing at the Pohang waters.
