초고층 철골대각가새골조의 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance Evaluation of Highrise Steel Diagrid Frames)

  • 본 논문은 강풍대이면서 약진대에 위치하는 내풍설계된 초고층건물이 경험할 수 있는 잠재적 지진에 대한 내진성능평가를 통해서 탄성내진설계의 가능성을 검토하는 것이다. 최근에 가장 각광받고 있는 구조시스템인 초고층 철골대각가새골조를 내풍설계하고, 내풍설계과정에서 상당한 시스템초과강도가 유입됨을 확인하였다. 초고층 철골대각가새골조에 대하여 다양한 지반조건에 따른 응답스펙트럼해석과 내진성능평가를 수행하였다. 우리나라와 같이 강풍대에 위치하면서 약진대에 속하는 환경하에서 세장비 5.2이상의 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 500년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서는 탄성저항할 수 있음을 보여주었고, 세장비 6.9의 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 2400년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서도 탄성설계가 가능함을 확인하였다. 500년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 부재수준에서 지반조건에 관계없이, 2400년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서도 $S_E$지반을 제외하고는 세장비 5.2이상의 모델에서 모두 "즉시거주" 수준을 나타내었다. 시스템수준에서 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 500년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서 세장비 5.2이상의 모델은 $S_A$$S_B$지반에서는 즉시거주, $S_C{\sim}S_E$ 지반에서는 "인명안전" 수준을 나타내었다. 2400년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서는 500년 재현주기보다 한 단계 낮은 내진성능수준을 보여주었다.

  • Even in moderate to low seismic regions like Korean peninsular where wind loading usually governs the structural design of a tall building, the probable structural impact of the design basis earthquake or the maximum credible earthquake on the selected structural system should be considered at least in finalizing the design. In this study, by using response spectrum analysis and linear time history analysis method, seismic performance evaluation was conducted for wind-designed concentrically braced steel highrise buildings. Both spectrum-compatible artificial accelerograms and recorded accelerograms were used as input ground motions for the time history analysis. The analysis results showed that wind-designed concentrically braced steel highrise buildings possess significantly increased elastic seismic capacity due to the system overstrength resulting from the wind-serviceability criterion and the width-to-thickness ratio limits on steel members. Time history analysis results generally tended to underestimate the seismic response as compared to those of response spectrum analysis.

Input ensemble was normalized to be compatible with expected peak ground acceleration. The analysis results showed that wind-designed concentrically braced steel highrise buildings possess significantly increased elastic seismic capacity due to the system overstrength resulting from the wind-serviceability criterion and the width-to-thickness ratio limits on steel members. The time history analysis tended to significantly underestimated the seismic response as compared to response spectrum analysis. Further detailed studies regarding selection and scaling scheme of input ground motions is needed.

Reconfiguration of Korea Highrise Residential Spaces in Response to Pandemic

  • In modern society, rapid environmental changes are occurring due to the complex interaction of various factors. Starting in 2020, the social environment is changing rapidly due to the impact of the pandemic, and the social and economic living environment is changing significantly not only in Korea but also internationally. In this trend, behavioral and spatial changes are occurring in response to changes in the architectural living environment. To analyze changes in behavior and space from an architectural perspective in response to changes in the social environment, first organize the concept and aspects of the pandemic that caused the change, examine the theory of the pandemic, and examine architectural responses to changes in the social environment. There is a need to analyze. Therefore, in order to architecturally review changes in the social environment due to the pandemic, the purpose of this study is to analyze the living behavior and space of major highrise residential complexes in the living environment and present new spatial alternatives in response.

Structural Performance of 800 MPa High-Strength Steel Members and Application to Highrise and Mega Building Structures

  • The use of high-strength steels in construction of highrise and mega building structures can bring about many technological advantages from fabrication to erection. However, key design criteria such as local and lateral stability in current steel design specifications were developed based on tests of ordinary steels which have stress-strain characteristics very different from that of high strength steels. A series of tests on 800 MPa tensile strength steel (HSA800) members are summarized in this paper which were conducted to investigate the appropriateness of extrapolating current ordinary-steel based design criteria to high strength steels. 800 MPa I-shape beam specimens designed according to flange local buckling (FLB) criteria of the AISC Specification developed a sufficient strength for elastic design and a marginal rotation capacity for plastic design. It is shown that, without introducing distinct and significant yield plateau to the stress-strain property of high-strength steel, it is inherently difficult to achieve a high rotation capacity even if all the current stability limits are met. 800 MPa I-shape beam specimens with both low and high warping rigidity exhibited sufficient lateral torsional buckling (LTB) strength. HSA800 short-column specimens with various edge restraint exhibited sufficient local buckling strength under uniform compression and generally outperformed ordinary steel specimens. The experimental P-M strength was much higher than the AISC nominal P-M strength. The measured residual stresses indicated that the impact of residual stress on inelastic buckling of high-strength steel is less. Cyclic seismic test results showed that HSA800 members have the potential to be used as non-ductile members or members with limited ductility demand in seismic load resisting systems. Finally, recent applications of 800 MPa high strength steel to highrise and mega building structures in Korea are briefly presented.

여러개의 파사드리거를 갖는 고층구조물의 응력과 변위 (Forces and Displacements of Highrise Braced Frames with Facade Riggers)

  • 파사드리거는 아웃리거 구조시스템에 rms거하는 것으로 구조물의 외곽에 설치되는 파사드리거는 구조물의 내부에 수직으로 설치된 가새골조로부터 분리되어 구조물의 외곽에 설치된다. 따라서 이 시스템은 중앙의 코아에 부착되는 아웃리거와는 달리 사재로 인한 내부 동선의 장애가 발생하지 않는 장점이 있다. 리거의 현재에 인접한 슬래브가 파사드리거와 가새골조 사이의 전단력을 전달하며 가새골조와 파사드리거를 지지하는 기둥 사이의 상호작용을 일으킨다. 이 논문에서는 등분포하중과 삼각분포하중, 그리고 구조물 상단에 집중하중이 작용하고 구조물의 외곽에 여러개의 파사드리거가 설치된 가새골조에 대한 근사해석방법을 제시하였으며, 구조모델들을 이용하여 MIDAS프로그램에 의한 결과와 비교하였고 만족할만한 결과를 얻었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 매트릭스 해석방법은 구조물 상단의 수평변위나 가새골조 하단의 전도모멘트와 같은 구조물의 거동에 대한 파사드리거의 영향을 신속하게 평가할 수 있으며 구조물 상단의 변위를 최소화할 수 있는 파사드리거의 최적위치 결정을 위해 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • An attempt is made to illuminate the characteristics of Korean high-rise apartment plans built after the 1990s in Seoul. Unlike the typical slab block plans of the past century, these plans were accommodated in a super-highrise building which normally integrates some portion of commercial areas on the lower floors. Thus, they are much different from the pre-1990s plans, so needs to have different strategy to adapt to the Korean dwellers' domestic requirements. This study reveals the topological patterns that appear in these new plans, and tries to relate these patterns to the old configuration patterns of the slab-type apartment houses. From the analysis, it was found that some important Korean dwellers' characteristics are still preserved, but at the same time, some unprecedented patterns were beginning to be absorbed into the spatial arrangement. At the end, suggestions are made on how this emerging trend of super-high rise can be better understood and evolved to enhance the living quality in a new multi-unit setting.

  • Differential shortenings of columns in a highrise building must be considered in the design process to avoid unexpected damages in structural and nonstructural elements. While research activity has been reported in the literature on the development of estimation algorithms or prediction procedures of elastic and inelastic column shortenings, no algorithms or methods for compensation of differential shortenings. In this paper a compensation method for differential column shortenings in a high-rise is formulated as an optimization problem The simulated annealing algorithm is used to find optimal solutions. The performance of the proposed method is presented by using the well known examples developed by PCA.

  • Currently a large number of high rise building projects are under plan and a mega foundation system to support this high load with safety is requiring. The foundation of a highrise building is displaced by the building load, which influence the behavior of a super structure in reverse. In this aspect, the structural interaction analysis between a foundation and a super structure is necessary. In this study, the relationship of a superstructure of building and a foundation has been reviewed, considering the tendency of design from a capacity driven design to a performance design. Two different case studies have been introduced to help understand this relationship in more specific, the first case is the high rise building founded on a mat system on rock and the second is that on large diameter bored piles on soft ground condition.
