A Study on Extraction Method of Hazard Traffic Flow Segment (고속도로 위험 교통류 구간 추출 방안 연구)

  • The number of freeway traffic accidents in Korea is about 4,000 as of 2020, and deaths per traffic accident is about 3.7 times higher than other roads due to non-recurring congestion and high driving speed. Most of the accident types on freeways are side and rear-end collisions, and one of the main factors is hazard traffic flow caused by merge, diverge and accidents. Therefore, the hazard traffic flow, which appears in a continuous flow such as a freeway, can be said to be important information for the driver to prevent accidents. This study tried to classify hazard traffic flows, such as the speed change point and the section where the speed difference by lane, using individual vehicle information. The homogeneous segment of speed was classified using spatial separation based on geohash and space mean speed that can indicate the speed difference of individual vehicles within the same section and the speed deviation between vehicles. As a result, I could extract the diverging influence segment and the hazard traffic flow segment that can provide dangerous segments information of freeways.

Characteristics of Long-Range Transport of Air Pollutants due to Different Transport Patterns over Northeast Asia (동북아시아 대기오염물질의 이동 패턴에 따른 장거리 수송 특성 연구)

  • This paper investigates the physical and chemical characteristics of long-range transport (LRT) process of air pollutants by employing the MM5-CMAQ and its comparison with local emission dominant (LED) case over northeast Asia. We first classified high air pollution days into LRT and LED cases based on the synoptic meteorological variables of vorticity and geostrophic wind speed/direction at a geopotential level of over 850hPa. LRT cases are further categorized into three types of transport patterns (LRT-I-III) according to the air mass pathways from source regions. LRT-I-III are originated from northern, central, and southern China, respectively, identified by back trajectory analysis. Three LRT-I-III groups have different and unique locations of high pressure and transport pathways. The chemical characteristics showed that the simulated spatial distributions varied in terms of locations of maximum concentrations and the temporal variation of surface concentrations. The primary air pollutants such as $NO_x$, $PM_{10}$ and $SO_2$ of all of three LRT cases are well transported into Korea peninsula with different concentration levels. Of LRT cases, LRT-II has the greatest effect on air quality of Korea peninsula, followed by LRT-I and LRT-III. In comparison with LRT, the LED case shows relatively higher air pollution concentrations in general, but showed a variety of different air quality levels following the emission strength pattern. These widely varying patterns are impling the case dependent multi-directional approach for the development of indicators of long-range transport process over northeast Asia.

  • A new set of MQW LD rate equations is proposed that include the interwell carrier transport effect assuming it is dominated by holes. Solving the rate equations, the DC transient response of MQW was obtained and it was shown that uneven carrier concentrations exist due to the interwell carrier transport effect. In addition, it was found that the large number of quantum wells can limit the LD modulation speed and InGaAlAs barriers with smaller valence band offsets can have larger modulation speeds. It is expected that the proposed rate equations can find useful applications in designing the optimal MQW LD structures for high speed applications.

  • The Korean High Speed Electric Multiple Unit (HEMU) train system is soon being applicable to practical use. This new technology is expected not only to reshape the domestic market but also to be exported to overseas markets for high-speed train system. This study aims to prospect demands on the HEMU train technology and to formulate marketing strategies using a text-mining technique, therefore, providing a foundation for successful commercialization of the HEMU train system.

  • ATM techniques ar ewidely accepted as a key transport mechanism infiber-based broadband network. However, to keep pace with the rpid emerging wireless high speed market, it is desirable to verify the reliability & daptability of ATM protocol on high error environment. This paper investigates the various ATM cell transfer characteristics over air interface. Though simulation, we analyze their usabilities of HeC mechanism and single-bit error correction algorithm based on ITU-T recommendation. We propose some methods for cell transport improvement over errored environment and investigate their performance for suggested schemes.

  • The transprot layer protocol for distrubuted multimedia applications in high speed network should gurantee the Quality of Serivce(QoS)requested by uwer.,The QoS Parmenters can be divied into two calssifications:those depend on the speed of a network such as bandiwidth,end-to-end transmission delay and throughput;and net- woek independent parameters such as various typed of group communications, retransmission method based on multimeda characteristic,acceptable packet wrror rate and transmission priority.In this proposed protocol,we divided user's QoS into performance redated parmeters and non-performance related parameters.The perform- ance-related paramenters are mapped into ATM traddic paramenters by the Distributed QoS Manger(DQM),the QoS manager,and the non-performance redlted paramenters are supported by the Distributed Multimedia Trans-port protocol(DMTP),a high-performance group transport protocol.Especially,becaues the DMTP is designed with considering the IP protocol,it can be efficiently used as an underlying protocol not onlu in ATM,but also in Ethernet,Token ring and FDDI LAN.

  • Korean Train Express (KTX) has been commercially operating and achieving elevation on transport capacity since 2004. And the first hish-speed prototype test train, HSR-350x, was developed and succeeded in testing of running over 350km/h. Now KTX-II based on HSR-350x was started in service run. The new high-speed train development project, HEMU-400x project, has started since 2007. The protype train is being designed and manufactured. After the train are developed completely, it will run on the commercial line and will be test to verify the estimated performance. The authors devised the performance evaluation method and process of the HEMU-400x prototype system. And we introduce the definite performance test items and the method to vitrificate them in this paper.
