Linerly Graded Encoder for High Resolution Angle Control of SRM Drive

  • In SRM drive, the ON·OFF angles of each phase switch should be accurately controlled in order to control the torque and speed stably. The accuracy of the switching angles is dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor, that are used to provide the information of the rotor position and to control the SRM power circuit, respectively. However, as the speed increases, the amount of the switching angle deviation from the preset values is also increased. Therefore, the low cost encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using the simple digital logic circuit is also presented in this paper, As a result, a stable high speed SRM drive can be achieved by the high resolution switching angle control and it is verified from the experiments that the proposed encoder the logic controller can be a powerful candidate for the practical low cost SRM drive.

고정밀 체결토크 성능 너트런너 시스템 개발 (Development of High Precision Fastening torque performance Nut-runner System)

  • 현재 자동차 산업과 함께 발전하고 있는 전자제품을 포함하는 전반적인 제조업 분야에서 초정밀 제어를 요하는 너트 체결기가 요구되고 있고 너트 체결시의 중요한 성능 요소는 체결력 부족에 의한 풀림과 과도한 체결에 의한 파손 및 강한 진동이나 외부 충격에 강건한 체결력 유지 등 조립 품질의 유지와 향상 및 제품 수명 보장을 위해 정확한 조임 토크, 각도 등이 요구된다. 현재 너트런너라는 제품명으로 판매되는 너트 체결기는 고토크 및 정밀토크제어, 정밀 각도제어 그리고 생산량 증대를 위한 고속운전 등의 특성들이 필요하며 고출력이 가능한 BLDC모터 및 너트체결기 전용의 정교한 토크제어에 필요한 고정밀 토크제어드라이버와 고속, 저속, 고응답의 정밀 속도 제어시스템의 개발이 요청되고 있으나 현재 고객이 요구하는 고정밀, 고토크 및 고속 작업특성을 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 정확한 체결 토크 및 고속 회전에서도 저진동 및 저소음을 구현할 수 있는 d축, q축의 좌표변환에 의한 벡터제어와 토크제어기반의 BLDC모터 가변속 제어와 너트런너의 제어 기술을 제안하고 여러 실험을 통해 성능 결과를 분석하여 제안한 제어가 너트런너 성능을 만족하는지를 확인 하였다. 또한 일단 운전 체결 방식(One Stage 운전 체결 방식)으로 패턴을 프로그램하여 10,000[rpm] 고속 운전 후 목표 토크로 정확히 체결됨을 확인하였으며 토크 리플에 의한 가체결 토크 검출의 문제점도 외란관측기을 사용하여 해결하였고 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • In phase controlled rectifier, it's been known that a fast response is achieved by predictive current control without any overshoot. The frequent sampling period is essential to improve the firing accuracy in conventional predict current control. However, improving the firing accuracy if difficult to reduce the period of sampling efficiently because current sampling and predictive current control is carried out in every period and the ON-OFF current control is performed by comparing two different one. To improve the firing accuracy at the predictive current control, the calculated firing angle is loaded into the high-accuracy hardware timer. So the calculation of exact crossing point between the predictive and actual current is the most important. In this paper, the flow chart for proposed firing angle calculation algorithm is obtained for the fastest current control performance in transient state. The performance of proposed algorithm is verified through simulations and experiments.

A Wide Speed Operation of SRM Using Low Cost Encoder and Controller

  • In switched reluctance motor(SRM) deives, the turn-on and turn-off angles of each phase switch should be accurately controlled for accuracy and efficiency. The accuracy of the switching angles is mainly dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor, that are used to provide the information of the rotor position and to implement a control algorithm of the SRM, respectively. Thus, the higher the speed of the SRM is increased, the larger the amount of the switching angle deviations are from preset turn-on and turn-off angles. Consequently, the motor can not be driven stably high speed region. There fore, a simples and low cost encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using a simple digital logic circuit is also presented for a wide speed range operation.

Voltage Angle Control of Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Low-Cost Applications

  • This paper presents a voltage angle control strategy for surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drives used in low-cost applications, wherein a current vector control is not employed. In the proposed method, the current vector control scheme, which requires high precision phase-current sensing units and a fast calculation capability of a motor drive controller, is replaced with the voltage angle controller. The proposed voltage angle controller calculates a d-axis voltage command to make the d-axis current zero by using a simple equation obtained from the voltage equation of SPMSM. The proposed method shows performance similar to the current vector controlled SPMSM drive during steady-states and its structure is very simple and thus it can be easily implemented with a low-cost microcontroller. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments.

철도차량 1차현가 특성에 따른 윤축 조향각 성능 분석 (Wheelset Steering Angle of Railway Vehicle according to Primary Suspension Property)

  • In this paper, we studied the steering performance of wheelset with primary suspension characteristics of railway vehicle. We carry out dynamic analysis and experimental study for the vehicle models which are different primary suspension characteristics. The steering angle of a vehicle model (Case 1) operating in domestic subway lines is insufficient compared with an objective steering angle for curved track. And the steering angle of a vehicle model (Case 2) with improved self-steering performance of wheelset is a little improved compare to previous vehicle model. But also Case 2 model is still insufficient compared with an objective steering angle and has its limit in steering performance. So to overcome this limit of steering performance of passive type railway vehicle, an active steering technology is being developed. In case of vehicle model with active steering system, the steering performance is improved remarkably compared to passive type vehicle model.

고속전자밸브를 이용한 유압전동장치의 속도 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Speed Control of Hydrostatic Transmission Using High Speed Solenoid Valve)

  • This study deals with controlling the speed of Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) system throuth the control of pumping stroke of positive displacement pump using high-speed solenoid valve controlled by digital closed loop PWM method. The method which was done in this study is as follows: First, we modified original positive displacement pump and designed pumping stroke control system of HST by using the high-speed solenoid valve. Second, after experimenting static and dynamic characteristics on each signal flow, we identified system parameter of approximated model. Finally, to control the speed of HST, we controlled the angle of the swash plate of positive displacement pump by controlling the pressure in the control cylinder chamber. Test which was carried out in the laboratory shows that transient and steady state response could be improved by PID controller.

  • The power steering system for vehicles is becoming essential for supporting the steering efforts of the drivers, especially for the parking lot maneuver Although hydraulic power steering has been widely used for years, its efficiency is not high enough. The problems associated with a hydraulic howe. steering system can be solved by a motor driven power steering (MDPS) system. In this study, a dynamic model and a control algorithm for the ball screw type of MDPS system have been derived and analyzed by using the method of discrete modeling technology. To improve steering feel and power steering characteristics, two derivative gains are added to the conventional power boosting control algorithm. Through simulations, the effects of the control gain on the steering angle gain were verified in the frequency domain. The steering returnability and steering torque phase lag in on-center handling test were also evaluated in the time domain.

  • Recent general press brake has many problems in cutting high accurate products in the progress of industry. Previous hand-operated press brake needs many pre-processing works to adjust bending angle and marking-off works to calculate bending length. Also, The hand-operating work makes many geometric errors and has difficulty for variety-mass production. To solve these problems, this paper proposes Computer Numerical Control (CNC) general press brake and development of servo-control system based on database for reduction of geometric errors and pre-processing work time.

수막을 가지는 선형 젖음성 패턴 표면에서의 액적 거동 특성 (The Behavioral Characteristics of a Droplet on the Line Patterned Surface Including Water Film)

  • Herein the water film was introduced to the hydrophilic area on the line patterned surface to solve the contradiction caused by surface roughness (high different wettability has advantage to control the droplet but high roughness for that high wettability difference causes obstruction of droplet moving). Thus the droplet on the water film could not be hindered to line direction but restricted to orthogonal direction, effectively. In addition, droplet behaviors according to droplet volume and line thickness were studied. Droplet fell off the line with narrowing the interface between the droplet and the water film on the line. When the droplet fell off the line, the plate angle was designated as a critical plate angle and it used as an indicator of surface capability to control the droplet. As a result critical plate angle increases as droplet volume decreases and line thickness increases.
