  • In the construction industry, the interest for recycling aggregates is rising as more people demand for alternatives due to lack of supply of natural aggregates and environmental problems. However, in order for recycled aggregates to be used in infrastructures, stability and other factors need to be verified. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the sensitivity of soil properties to secure slope safety according to various heights of embankment when bottom ash and dredged soil mixture is applied in the embankment. In most cases, all heights were safe for the slide for the embankment whether the water level is full or sudden draw down. The result of the sensitivity analysis revealed that the unit weight of embankments is highest among all factors to be considered. However, the sensitivity of the unit weight became smaller and the sensitivity of the friction angle of embankments increased with the height of embankments. The sensitivity of factors of core materials is very small because the core has weaker physical properties than those of the embankment. The effect of the height for each factor is different for each slope and water levels. The sensitivity of the unit weight of embankments is most affected when the height is 60m in the upstream slope. To conclude, bottom ash and dredged soil mixture can be applied in the embankment and different factors must be considered in different scale because the sensitivity depends highly on the height of embankments.

  • In order to how well predict ISCST3(lndustrial Source Complex Short Term version 3) model dispersion of air pollutant at point source, sensitivity was analysed necessary parameters change. ISCST3 model is Gaussian plume model. Model calculation was performed with change of the wind speed, atmospheric stability and mixing height while the wind direction and ambient temperature are fixed. Fixed factors are wind direction as the south wind(l80") and temperature as 298 K(25 "C). Model's sensitivity is analyzed as wind speed, atmospheric stability and mixing height change. Data of stack are input by inner diameter of 2m, stack height of 30m, emission temperature of 40 "C, outlet velocity of 10m/s. On the whole, main factor which affects in atmospheric dispersion is wind speed and atmospheric stability at ISCST3 model. However it is effect of atmospheric stability rather than effect of distance downwind. Factor that exert big influence in determining point of maximum concentration is wind speed. Meanwhile, influence of mixing height is a little or almost not.

  • Anthropometric measurements, particularly weight and height, are the most commonly employed measures of nutritional status in epidemiologic studies because of their simplicity and ease of collection. However, the usefulness of the anthropometric indicator is controversial. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the anthropometric indicator to represent the nutritional status of individual adult in epidemiologic studies. In order to evaluate the usefulness of the anthropometric indicator to represent the nutritional status of individual, the validity in terms of sensitivity and specificity of anthropometric indicators was estimated by comparing the biochemical indicators to the reference indicators. The relative validity of dietary intake indicators was also measured for comparison between the three indicators of biochemistry, anthropometry and dietary assessment. The results showed that sensitivity of weight and height and dietary indicators were 16.7 an 50.5, respectively comparing the reference value of 100 as biochemical indicator in identifying anemic adults. Whereas the sensitivity of weight and height and dietary indicators were 63.6 and 36.4, respectively comparing reference value of 100 in identifying hyperlipidemic individuals(obesity). In conclusion, the validity of weight and height is much lower than that of biochemical indicator, burt weight and height still has some usefulness in identifying anemic individuals. Especially, it is more useful in identifying hyperlipidemic individual adults thant in identifying anemic individuals.

  • As high-rise buildings came in, the landscape of rural areas and natural landscapes often got damaged. Therefore, this study aims to prevent this, grasp the extent of the influence of the surrounding landscape, to grasp the range of height that can be permitted and present the direction of landscape management of agriculture and natural landscape. This study tried to grasp the range of height by using price sensitivity analysis method for two apartment and apartment complex which entered DangJin city and SeoSan city. First, in the case of a two apartment, the range of the height allowable section was from the 6th floor to the 11th floor in close range view, and it was a section from the 7th floor to the 12th floor in medium range view. In the case of the apartment complex, the range of the height allowable range was from the 10th floor to the 17th floor in close range view, the 9th floor to the 16th floor in medium range view. The stress index was found to be positive in a two apartment in close range view, and in the apartment complex case. therefore it was better to set it to a lower in the Range of Acceptable Height(RAH). Second, it showed no difference in the sensitivity of landscape to gender. Thirdly, the results of the landscape sensitivity analysis of major and non-major showed the difference in the medium range view picture of the apartment complex. Majors are lower than the point of minimum height(PMinH) than non-Majors. In the case of major, the stress index was 1.4. it turned out that it was better to make a decision closer to point of minimum height (PMinH). In the case of non-major, the stress index was -1.3. it was also able to accept decision close to the point of maximum height (PMaxH). Since the results of the above research gave changes only in the variable of the height of the landscape, we can not grasp the point of interaction with other variables, and future research is considered necessary.

  • In this paper, the influence of frictional conditions on the backward impact extrusion of aluminum battery casing with large aspect ratio has been investigated. In the simulation, MSC.Superforge, a package based on the finite volume method, is used for the extrusion analysis. The formability and earing problem during the production have been evaluated by studying the sensitivity to frictional effects. During the sensitivity analysis, the friction factor was varied from 0.02 to 0.24. As the friction factor is increased, the forming height of the narrow edge is decreased, and the forming height of the wide edge is increased. When the friction factor becomes 0.2, the earing problem does not occur The experimental results show a good agreement with analytical results.

  • The aim of this study is to analyse the sensitivity of fire simulation parameters including grid size and solid angle number which affect the performance of subway cabin fire simulation by FDS 4.07 version. The results of sensitivity analysis shows average of $10{\sim}20%$ differences in plume temperature, upper layer temperature, and layer height depending on the change of grid size. The study also shows that simulation with 0.05m grid size produces better resolution than that with coarse one which is 0.1m.

  • The sensitivity analysis of two short-term models (ISCST3, INPUFF2.5) is performed to improve the model accuracy. It appears that the sensitivities on the changes of wind speed, stack height and stack inner diameter in the near distance from source, stability and mixing height in the remote distance form source, are significant. Also the gas exit velocity, stack inner diameter, gas temperature and air temperature which affect the plume rise have some effects on the concentration values of each model within the downwind distance where final plume rise is determined. And in modeling for the atmospheric dispersion of point pollutant source INPUFF2.5 can calculate amount, trajectory of puff and concentration versus time at each receptors. So, it is compatible to analyze distribution of point pollutants concentration at modeling area.

  • Background: To evaluate the feasibility, inter-reader reliability, and intra-reader reliability for various morphological features reported to be related to iliotibial band friction syndrome (ITBFS) on knee magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods: A total of 145 patients with a clinical diagnosis and knee MRI findings consistent with ITBFS were included in the "study group" and 232 patients without knee pathology on both physical examination and MRI were included in the "control group". Various morphologic features on knee MRI were assessed including the patella shape, patella height, lateral epicondyle anterior-posterior (AP) width, lateral epicondyle height, ITB diameter (ITB-d), and ITB area (ITB-a). Results: Patients in the study group had significantly higher lateral epicondyle height (13.9 mm vs. 12.92 mm, P = 0.003), ITB-d (2.9 mm vs. 2.0 mm, P = 0.022), and ITB-a (38.5 mm2 vs. 23.8 mm2, P < 0.001) than the control group. ITB-a showed higher area under the curve index (0.849 with 74.1% sensitivity and 72.4% specificity at a 30.3 mm2 cutoff) than ITB-d (0.710 with 70.8% sensitivity and 61.2% specificity at 2.4 mm cutoff) and lateral epicondyle height (0.776 with 72.4% sensitivity and 67.8% specificity at 13.4 mm cutoff). However, only the inter-reader agreement for ITB-a (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.65) was moderate, while the agreements for other morphologic features were good or excellent. Conclusions: Lateral epicondyle height seems to be a reliable and feasible morphologic feature for diagnosis of ITBFS.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop two numerical model for predicting the wave height with set-up/down near the surfzone on a arbitrary beach profile. Two wave models, regular wave model and random wave model, are based on the energy flux equation with the energy dissipation effects. The developed numerical models are verified by comparison of numerical results with analytical solutions that are derived under the simple conditions. The characteristics of parameters included in each model are then investigated and decided to the range of behaviour by the sensitivity analysis. For sensitivity analysis, we carried out total 46 laboratory tests. Finally, the developed numerical models are applied to the field where the wave height near the surfzone has been measured. From the applications of numerical models, it is concluded that the developed numerical models may accurately predict the wave height with the set-up/down near the surfzone on a arbitrary beach profile.

  • Nowadays, SAR Interferometry is actively being studied as a new technique in topographic mapping using satellite imagery. It extracts height values using phase information derived by two SAR imageries covering same areas. Unlike when using SPOT imagery, it is not affected by atmospheric conditions and time. So to speak, we can say that SAR Interferometry is flexible in imagery acquisitions and can get height data economically over wide area. So, it is expected that SAR Interferometry will be widely using in GIS applications. But, in some area occurring geometric distortion, height data are misjudged or not extracted depending on phase unwrapping algorithms. IN the case of ERS tandem data, the accuracy of height data was worst in mountain area. It is the because of the short incidence angle resulted in layover effect. Of the phase unwrapping algorithms, path-following was better in height accuracy but could not get data in layover area. In this area, we could get height data using Height Sensitivity. In concludion, we could get DEM that maintained the accuracy of path-following method and have overall data across imagery.
