재료 특성이 철근 콘크리트 슬래브의 동적 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Material Characteristics on the Dynamic Response of the Reinforced Concrete Slabs)

  • The reinforced concrete slab is one of main structure members in the construction industry sector. However, most of researches regarding to RC slabs have been focused on two-dimensional Mindlin-type plate element on the basis of laminated plate theory since three-dimensional solid element has a lot of difficulties in finite element formulation and costs in CPU time. In reality, the RC slabs are subjected to dynamic loads like a heavy traffic vehicle load, and thus should insure the safety from the static load as well as dynamic load. Once we can estimate the dynamic behaviour of RC slabs exactly, it will be very helpful for design of it. In this study, the 20-node solid element has been used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of RC slabs with clamped edges. The elasto-visco plastic model for material non-linearity and the smeared crack model have been adopted in the finite element formulation. The applicability of the proposed finite element has been tested for dynamic behaviour of RC slabs with respect to characteristics of concrete materials in terms of cracking stress, crushing strain, fracture energy and Poisson's ratio. The effect on dynamic behaviour is dependent on not crushing strain but cracking stress, fracture energy and Poisson's ratio. In addition to this, it is shown the damping phenomenon of RC slabs has been identified from the numerical results by using Rayleigh damping.

헬리데크 설계를 위한 유한요소해석 기반 매개변수연구 (Parametric Study for Helideck Design using Finite Element Analysis)

  • A helideck is a very valuable offshore structure for the take-off and landing of a helicopter. In order to design a helideck, the design parameters and various loads defined by the regulations related to the design of a helideck should be applied. In this study, a risk analysis was performed based on the helicopter accidents for seven years, and the frequency and possible reasons for accidents involving helidecks were investigated. In addition, a finite element analysis of a steel helideck mounted on the upper deck of a ship (shuttle tanker) was performed with the load that should be considered when designing a helideck. Based on the results, a parametric study of helideck was carried out by applying a variety of design parameters, and an improved helideck design was presented. This improved helideck reduced the steel used by up to 24% compared to the initial helideck design, and the results of a finite element analysis were analyzed and compared with those of the initial analysis.

모악 금·은광산에 방치된 폐석이 주변 수계 및 생태계에 미치는 환경적 영향 (Environmental Effects on the Hydrologic and Ecologic System around the Wasted Ore Dump of the Moak Gold-Silver Mine)

  • The heavy metal contents and their dispersion patterns in stream water, stream sediments, land plants and aquatic larvae collected from the hydrologic system flowing via the wasted ore dump of the Moak Au-Ag mine were investigated systematically in order to evaluate the environmental impacts of the abandoned metal mine. The heavy metal content increases abruptly in the vicinity of the wasted ore dump, then attenuated with increasing distance from the mine area. Attenuating rates were stream water > stream sediments > land plants > aquatic larvae. On the other hand, the cumulative content of heavy metals was stream sediments >aquatic larvae > land plants > stream water. Each element tends to be enriched selectively according to media; Zn > Cu > Cd > Pb in stream water, Zn > Pb > Cu > Cd in stream sediments and land plants, and Zn > Cu > Pb > Cd in aquatic larvae. These results show that the degree of enrichment and dispersion of pollutant extruded from the wasted ore dump are different according to elements and media, and that the circulation system of materials of each medium is different. The heavy metals, especially Cu, Pb and Zn, of polluted downstream sediments occur in high proportions of Fe-Mn oxides and organic bounded forms, which show high potential of a secondary pollution source. The content of heavy metals and their dispersion patterns in stream sediments are different from those of ten years ago; pollution levels of heavy metals were degraded in various ranges. The Zn and Cu-polluted areas were widened whereas Fe and Pb-polluted areas were reduced. In crops collected from the farm lands in downstream area, the pepper was more concentrated in all heavy metal than rice. The pepper showed some contaminated level in Cu(9.7ppm) and Zn(149ppm), and the rice in Zn(90ppm). However, both crops showed no significant level in Cd(<0.2ppm) and Pb(<0.5ppm).

한강유역(漢江流域)의 현생퇴적물(現生堆積物)에 관한 연구(硏究) -입도(粒度), 중광물(重鑛物) 및 유용원소(有用元素)를 중심(中心)으로- (A Study on the Recent Sediments of Han River -Grain Size, Heavy Minerals and Trace Elements-)

  • This paper deals with grain size analysis, heavy mineral analysis and trace element analysis of the recent sediments of Han River basin between Cheongpyong, Gyeonggi province and Seoul. For each location the samples are taken at river shoreline, river berm and river dune. The size analysis discloses that the mean values range from $-1.37{\phi}$ to $-1.60{\phi}$, sorting values range from 0.25 to 1.84, skewness values range from -0.44 to 0.51 and kurtosis values range from -0.1 to 1.75. Based on the textural parameters, the dune sand can be distinguished from the shoreline-berm sand. The content of heavy minerals of each sample ranges from 0.04 to 4.7%. The principal heavy minerals are ilmenite, magnetite, leucoxene, garnet, amphibole, pyroxene, kyanite, zircon, monazite, tourmaline, epidote, limonite, and minor minerals are apatite, sillimanite, andalusite and olivine. In general, dune sand samples contain more heavy minerals than the samples of shoreline or berm sand. This suggests that the heavy mineral concentration is affected by wind action more than by any other causes. The content of ilmenite and leucoxene decreases, whereas the content of zircon and epidote increases as it approaches the downstream region. The differences result from the variance of geological occurrences. The emission spectrochemical analysis and colorimetry analysis revealed that the content of Ni and V in the heavy minerals of the study area are higher than those of other stream sediments in Korea. On the other hand the content of Cu, Ph, Zn, Mo, W, P, Mn, Cr, Ag and Sn are lower in the study area. It has been observed also that the contents of all the elements except for Bi are higher in this area than the samples of marine sediments of Yellow Sea.

중금속 및 유류로 오염된 토질의 성토재료로서의 안정성에 관한 연구 (The Research on The Stability as Fill Material of Soil Defiled by Oil Element and Heavy Metals)

  • 아파트 건설용 부지내에서 중금속 및 유류로 오염된 토사가 발견되었다. 7개 위치에서 대표적인 시료를 채취하였으며 이 오염된 토사의 지반공학적 안정성을 확인하기 위하여 중금속 및 유류에 대한 환경공학적 검토가 이루어졌다. 2개 위치의 토사는 유류로 심하게 오염되어 있어 현장의 특정지역으로 반출하여 폐기해야 하는 것으로 판단하였다. 토양오염우려수준인 1개 위치의 토사에 대하여 성토재로서의 활용가능성을 확인하기 위하여 성토 안정성에 대한 해석을 수행하였으며 성토재로 사용할 수 있는 것으로 판단하였다.

저합금 탄소강 배관재의 다층용접 열영향부의 미세조직 및 열이력 해석 (Analysis of Thermal Cycles and Microstructure of Heat Affected Zone for a Low Alloy Carbon Steel Pipe under Multipass Weld)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze thermal cycles and to investigate microstructures of heat affected zones for a low alloy carbon steel pipe under a multipass weld. The commercial finite element code SYSWELD is used to compute thermal cycles during multipass weld. The numerical results such as thermal cycles and size of heat affected zone are compared with those of the experiment and the two results show a good agreement. In addition, the microstructure and hardness are investigated from the weldment in detail. The weakest location is founded at intercritical region near the base metal.

선박용 대형 계류장비의 개발과 강도 평가 (A Study on the Development and Strength Evaluation of the Mooring Fittings with Big Capacity)

  • It has been developed large mooring fittings having the capacity of 160 tons and 180 tons installed on 170K LNG FSRU. The finite element analysis for the mooring fittings was carried out in order to check the structural integrity and to confirm satisfaction of the rule requirements. The 3 kinds of mooring fittings such as chock, bollard and universal fairlead are selected for FE analysis and load test. According to the FE analysis results, all the stress levels satisfied the acceptance criteria guided by the IACS UR A2, ISO standard, ship rules and OCIMF. As test results under design load, no structural defects were found.

  • Tungsten heavy metal is characterized bi a high density and novel combination of strength and ductility. Among them, 90W-7Ni-3Fe is used for applications, where the high specific weight of the material plays an important role. They are used as counterweights, rotating inertia members, as well as for defense purposes(kinetic energy penetrators, etc.). Because of these applications, it is essential to detemine the dynamic characteristics of tungsten alloy. In this paper, Explicit FEM(finite element method) is employed to investigate the dynamic characteristics of tungsten heavy metal under base of stress wave propagation theory for SHPB, and the model of specimen is divided into two parts to understand the phenomenon that stress wave penetrates through each tungsten base and matrix. This simulation results were compared to experimental one and through this program the dynamic stress-strain curve of tungsten heavy metal can be obtained using quasi static stress-strain curve of pure tungsten and matrix.

  • Helicopters are essential for supporting offshore oil and gas activities around the world. To ensure accessibility for helicopters, helideck structures must satisfy the safety requirements associated with various environmental and accidental loads. Recently, offshore helideck structures have used aluminium because of its light weight, low maintenance requirements, cost effectiveness and easy installation. However, section designs of aluminum pancakes tend to modify and/or change from the steel pancakes. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize section design and evaluate the safety requirements for aluminium helideck. In this study, a design procedure was developed based on section optimization techniques with experimental studies, industrial regulations and nonlinear finite element analyses. To validate and verify the procedure, a new aluminium section was developed and compared strength capacity with the existing helideck section profiles.

Control the length of beam trajectory with a quadruple triplet for heavy ion accelerator

  • Beam trajectory is needed to be controlled in heavy ion accelerator system. Quadruple magnets are widely used in heavy ion accelerator for focusing the transporting particles. A quadruple triplet system which consists of three consecutive quadrupoles, Q1, Q2 and Q3, is used to control beam trajectory at a focused position. Q1 and Q3 have symmetry with respect to Q2. The beam trajectory in magnet system is affected by higher order fields existed in real fields. For quadrupoles, the representation simulation of beam trajectory was carried out to study the beam trajectory and to estimate an effect of higher order field in triplet system. SCALA program was used to simulate the beam trajectory in $Opera^{TM}$. SCALA can analyze a large number of beam trajectories at the same time by adjusting the size of finite element of the emitter. With $Opera^{TM}$ and $Matlab^{TM}$ programs, the position of focused beam spot in quadruple triplet system can be increased or decreased using evolution strategy (ES) method, therefore the length of triplet system can be controlled. Finally, the quadruple triplet system with the appropriate length and expected beam spot range was suggested in this paper.
