In this paper, the defrosting characteristics of a PTC heating sheet is investigated by means of a defrosting heat source for the fin-tube heat exchanger in a refrigerator The defrosting characteristics of the PTC heating sheet are examined and compared with those of a conventional electric heater experimentally. It is found that the characteristics of the water draining rate with the defrosting time show a smoothly oscillating pattern when the PTC heating sheet Is used, and the drained water is completely melted. The defrosting efficiency of the PTC heating sheet is found to be about 75%, which is about 25% higher than that of the electric heater. Also, the reduction of the defrosting time and the increment of the defrosting efficiency may be obtained by improving the arrangement of the heating elements of the healing sheet. It is shown that the defrosting time of the PTC heating sheet increases linearly with the amount of frost, whereas the defrosting efficiency is nearly constant. When applying the PTC heating sheet to the refrigerating system, one should notice the fact that the defrosting performance of the PTC heating sheet may be degraded due to the repetitive operations.
Conventional heating the heat source cause the molecules to react from the surface toward the center so that successive layers of molecules heat in turn. The product surfaces may be in danger of over heating by the time heat penetrates the material. Microwave, however, produce a volume heating effect. All molecules are set in action at the same time. It also evens temperature gradients and offers other important benefits such as selective heating. (omitted)
The existing heating unit is indirect-heating method that make use or the nichrome wire or halogen lamp. The indirect-heating method has the demerits of long warming time, high power consumption and many organization parts. In this study, the heating unit of direct-heating method manufactured as being the thermal spray coating of conductive heating material on the surface of heating unit in order to improve the demerits of indirect-heating method. And YSZ added Ni-20Cr that had moderate electrical resistivity was chosen of the conductive heating material.
In this study, the fracture toughness $K_{IC}$ of high performance concrete (HPC) was investigated by conducting three-point bending tests on a total of 240 notched beams of $500mm{\times}100mm{\times}100mm$ subjected to heating temperatures up to $450^{\circ}C$ with exposure times up to 16 hours and various heating and cooling rates. For a heating rate of $3^{\circ}C/min$, $K_{IC}$ for the hot concrete sustained a monotonic decrease trend with the increasing heating temperature and exposure time, from $1.389MN/m^{1.5}$ at room temperature to $0.942MN/m^{1.5}$ at $450^{\circ}C$ for 4-hour exposure time, $0.906MN/m^{1.5}$ for 8-hour exposure time and $0.866MN/m^{1.5}$ for 16-hour exposure time. For the cold concrete, $K_{IC}$ sustained a two-stage decrease trend, dropping slowly with the heating temperature up to $150^{\circ}C$ and then rapidly down to $0.869MN/m^{1.5}$ at $450^{\circ}C$ for 4-hour exposure time, $0.812MN/m^{1.5}$ for 8-hour exposure time and $0.771MN/m^{1.5}$ for 16-hour exposure time. In general, the $K_{IC}$ values for the hot concrete up to $200^{\circ}C$ were larger than those for the cold concrete, and an inverse trend was observed thereafter. The increase in heating rate slightly decreased $K_{IC}$, and at $450^{\circ}C$$K_{IC}$ decreased from $0.893MN/m^{1.5}$ for $1^{\circ}C/min$ to $0.839MN/m^{1.5}$ for $10^{\circ}C/min$ for the hot concrete and from $0.792MN/m^{1.5}$ for $1^{\circ}C/min$ to $0.743MN/m^{1.5}$ for $10^{\circ}C/min$ for the cold concrete after an exposure time of 16 hours. The increase in cooling rate also slightly decreased $K_{IC}$, and at $450^{\circ}C$$K_{IC}$ decreased from $0.771MN/m^{1.5}$ for slow cooling to $0.739MN/m^{1.5}$ for fast cooling after an exposure time of 16 hours. The fracture energy-based fracture toughness $K_{IC}$' was also assessed, and similar decrease trends with the heating temperature and exposure time existed for both hot and cold concretes. The relationships of two fracture toughness parameters with the weight loss and the modulus of rapture were also evaluated.
Continuing to the modeling of heating load, this paper, as the second part of consecutive works, presents LS-SVM (least square support vector machine) based model of winter time apartment hot water supply load in a district heating system, so as to be used in prediction of heating energy usage. Similar, but more severely, to heating load, hot water supply load varies in highly nonlinear manner. Such nonlinearity makes analytical model of it hardly exist in the literatures. LS-SVM is known as a good modeling tool for the system, especially for the nonlinear system depended by many independent factors. We collect 26,208 data of hot water supply load over a 13-week period in winter time, from 12 heat exchangers in seven different apartments. Then part of the collected data were used to construct LS-SVM based model and the rest of those were used to test the formed model accuracy. In modeling, we first constructed the model of district heating system's hot water supply load, using the unit heating area's hot water supply load of seven apartments. Such model will be used to estimate the total hot water supply load of which the district heating system needs to provide. Then the individual apartment hot water supply load model is also formed, which can be used to predict and to control the energy consumption of the individual apartment. The results obtained show that the total hot water supply load, which will be provided by the district heating system in winter time, can be predicted within 10% in MAPE (mean absolute percentage error). Also the individual apartment models can predict the individual apartment energy consumption for hot water supply load within 10% ~ 20% in MAPE.

One of the important steps on semi-solid forming Is the reheating process of raw materials to the semi-solid state. This Process is not only necessary to achieve the required SSM billet state, but also to contro1 the microstructure of the billet. In reheating process, the globule size is determined by the holding time of last heating stage. Therefore, some experiments to investigate the relationship between the mechanical properties and the holding time in the last heating stage was performed. The alloys used in this experiment were 357, 319 and A390 alloys. The experiments of reheating were performed by using an Induction heating system with the capacity of 50kw. This paper shows the evolution of the microstructure according to the holding time of last reheating stage. Furthermore, to evaluate the effect of globule size controlled by holding time in last heating stage uniaxial tension test was performed. The strain-stress curves were plotted according to the holding time.
In recently, annealing process of cold rolled sheet tend to change to continuous annealing process for improving quality, saving yield. In the meantime as demand for various kind and small lot of products has been increasing, batch annealing has been appreciated for its small restriction for the operation. So, we tested on the effect for the proper heating temperatures, heating time of cycle, cooling time and total cycle time in this annealing process of hi tensile strength steel for automobile. As a result of several investigation. we confirmed for the following characteristics; In this process, we knew that 68$0^{\circ}C$ is suitable for this heating temp. cycle heating time of 38 Hr, cooling time of 31 Hr and total cycle time of 70 Hr. Still more, we could know that it is proper for cold rolling before annealing to be managed by 7 pass because of the act on high pressure.
