Physiological and Genetical Characters for Early Maturity in Barley and Common Wheat

  • Physiology and genetics of early maturity in cereals are the subject of practical as well as scientific interest for agronomist and plant breeders, Thorough understanding of the true nature of such a complex character requires physiological and genetical knowledge about the internal factors, which are closely bound up with and react to some particular external or environmental factors. From the practical point of view. experiments should be conducted under controlled conditions. especially the day length and temperature, so that the genotypic differences pertaining to these factors may be discerned. Takahashi and Yasuda (1958, 1970) maintained that at least three physiological factors were responsible for determining earliness in barley. namely. (1) spring and winter habit of growth or vernalization requirement, (2) ogitioeruiduc response or sensitivity to short-day, and (3) earliness factor in a narrow sense or minimal vegetative growth. The same situations were true in common wheat also (Yasuda and Shimoyama, 1965), In this report. physiology and genetics of internal factors and their relations to the time of heading in the field will be presented with some problems concerning differences in mechanism of early maturity between barley and wheat.

  • This paper investigates the characteristics of dynamic responses of floating structures with connections under sea wave loads. Direct method using higher order boundary element method (HOBEM) and finite element method (FEM) is adopted for numerical analysis. A 500 m-long and 250-m width very large floating structure (VLFS) with four units are considered in numerical analysis. Hinge connection and spring connection with various strength are considered as connection types. Displacements and stresses of VLFS according to the connection types are compared considering wave period and heading angle reduction.

  • In this paper, a formation guidance method for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to simulate the formation flight of birds proposed. The proposed method solves all issues of approaching for formation, formation keeping, and scarce chance to be collided with each UAV during formation process. Also, we design the feedforward controller to compensate the change of speed and heading for maneuvering of the leader UAV and the feedback controller to consider the response lag of the system. The stability and performance of the proposed controller is verified via numerical simulations of the full 6-Dof model of UAV.

선박(船舶)의 규칙파중(規則波中)에서의 상대선수변위(相對船首變位)의 해석(解析) (Analysis of Relative Bow Displacements of a Ship in Regula Waves)

  • Relative bow-motions of a ship in wave are investigated by using linear theory. The relative displacement is assumed to be composed of incident wave elevation, motion response, dynamic swell-up and ship wave elevation. Radiation problem is solved by distributing sources on the hull surface and wave elevation in a uniform stream is obtained by integrating Havelock's function with centerplane source distributions. Relative displacements for I.T.T.C. S7-175 model are calculated. Dynamic swell-ups make the relative displacement larger except small heading angles. Amplitudes of relative motion on weather-side are generally larger than those on lee-side. Ship wave elevations in a uniform stream also give considerable contributions and our calculations are verified to be reasonable in comparison with experimental results.

Dynamic Modeling-based Flight P-PD Controller Applied to a Quadrotor

  • In this paper, we describe performances of P-PD controllers in the quadrotor system with steady-state error compensation by adding a corrective term to the system input. A decentralized control system using P-PD controllers was successfully implemented on a quadrotor platform. We also presented the results of a mathematical modeling analysis for control the quadrotor and experimental results for each response performance according to the heading reference value in accordance with the mathematical modeling and P-PD controller design. A control experiment with the real system was implemented for the test platform, and the results were evaluated and compared.

  • 인도네시아 발리에서 한국 4개품종을 묘대일수와 재배법을 달러하여 공식한 결과 20일묘와 30일묘간에는 이앙후 출수기까지의 일수, 생육과 수양형질 및 수량에서 차이가 없었으며 시비량이 많고 재식밀도가 낮은 한국재배법이 수량 및 수량 구성요소가 유의성 있는 좋은 성적을 보였다.

  • 토양(土壤)의 가리공급력(加里供給力)에 따른 시비량(施肥量) 추정(推定)에 활용(活用)하기 위(爲)하여 수도(水稻)의 출수기(出穗期) 및 시험전(試驗前) 토양(土壤)에서 Gapon식(式)의 계수(係數) $KG_o$와 상대가리활성도비(相對加里活性度比) Kas/kai를 구(求)하고 이들 요인(要因)과 수도(水稻)의 가리흡수량(加里吸收量) 및 정조수량(正租水量)과의 관계(關係)를 비교(比較) 검토(檢討)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 시험전(試驗前) 토양(土壤)에서 조사(調査)된 ${\Delta}K=0$일때의 Gapon계수(係數) $KG_o$는 식양토(埴壤土) 7.8 양토(壤土) 6.6 사양토(砂壤土) 7.1 이었고 상대가리활성도비(相對加里活性度比) Kas/kai는 식양토(埴壤土) 1.37 양토(壤土) 1.26 사양토(砂壤土) 2.11로 토성(土性)에 따라 상이(相異)하였다. 2. 출수기(出穗期) 토양(土壤)에서 조사(調査)된 KG는 수도(水稻)의 생육(生育)과 함께 그 값이 커져서 가리무시용(加里無施用) 수준(水準)의 값과 동일수준(同一水準)으로 될때 가리(加里)의 시용효과(施用效果)가 현저(顯著)하였다 3. 토양중(土壤中) 치환성(置換性) 양(陽)이온비(比)[Kex./(Ca+Mg) ex.]와 평형용액중(平衡溶液中) 가리활성도비(加里活性度比) ($[K^+]/\sqrt{[Ca^{{+}{+}}+Mg^{{+}{+}}]}$) 사이에는 토성(土性)에 따라 기울기가 다른 직선적(直線的)인 상관관계(相關關係)를 보였다. 4. 출수기(出穗期) 토양중(土壤中) $KG_o$와 Kas/kai는 질소(窒素) 15kg/10a 시용시(施用時) 식물체(植物體)의 가리흡수량(加里吸收量) 및 정조수량(正租收量)과 높은 상관관계(相關關係)를 보었으며 시험전(試驗前) 토양(土壤)에서 산출(算出)된 Kas/Kai는 가리흡수량(加里吸收量) 및 정조수량(正租收量)과 높은 상관(相關)을 보여 좋은 가리공급력(加里供給力) 지표(指標)로 판단(判斷)되었다. 5. 출수기(出穗期) 토양(土壤)의 KG와 Kas/kai는 높은 부(負)의 상관관계(相關關係)를 보여 서로 반대(反對)된 요인(要因)으로 생각되며 가리시비량(加里施肥量) 추정(推定)에 활용(活用)이 가능(可能)할 것으로 보인다.

생식생장기 수분스트레스 처리가 억새의 출수율 및 생육 변화에 미치는 영향 (Changes in Miscanthus sacchariflorus Growth and Heading Rate Influenced by Water Stress Treatment at Reproductive Growth Stage)

  • 생식생장기 장기간의 건조와 침수 스트레스 하에서 물억새와 거대1호의 생육 및 양분함량 변화를 비교분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 건조 처리에 의한 두 억새 종의 형태적 특성 변화는 없었으나, 침수 처리에 의해 거대1호의 초장은 256.6 cm로 증가하였으며 마디수 또한 16.8개로 증가하였다. 2. 물억새의 출수율은 건조 조건에서 18.9%로 감소하였으나 침수 조건에서는 대조구와 통계적 유의성을 보이지 않았다. 거대1호는 대조구와 건조구에서 모두 출수하지 않았으며, 침수처리에 의해 48.6%의 출수율을 보였다. 3. 주요 양분인 유리당, 전질소, 인산, 칼륨, 마그네슘은 두 억새 모두 건조처리구에서 가장 높았으며, 칼슘과 마그네슘의 경우 침수처리구에서 두 억새 모두 3배이상 감소하였다. 4. 이러한 양분 변화는 건조처리에 의해 억새의 노화가 촉진되어 양분 이동이 저해된 결과로 사료되며, 침수 처리는 거대1호의 출수를 촉진한다는 결과를 처음으로 확인하였다.

Cold Tolerance Characteristic Test of High Yield Tongil-type Rice Breeding Lines for Processing

  • Recently, the yield potential of high yield Tongil-type rice varieties has greatly increased, reaching 817kg/10a(Geumgang No.1). Moreover, in order to promote rice consumption and strengthen the competitiveness of the rice processing industry, the R&D of high yield Tongil-type rice varieties for each processing purpose, such as rice noodles, grain feed and industrial materials, has been continuously carried out. However, because Tongil-type rice varieties or lines are generally very vulnerable to cold damage, cold tolerance test can be said to be absolutely necessary to improve the cultivation safety. This study is the result of the seedling and field cold tolerance characteristic tests carried out in 2021 of high yield Tongil-type rice breeding lines. For the cold tolerance characteristic test of seedlings, total 303 high yield rice breeding lines for processing were treated in cold water of 13℃ and irrigation depth of 4cm for 10 days from the third-leaf age, then it was evaluated by comparing the degree of discoloration and withering with the checked varieties(Boramchan, Hanahreum No.2). Also, for the test of field, total 186 high yield rice breeding lines for processing were treated in cold water of 17℃ by keeping pouring day and night from 30 days after transplanting to ripening stage, then it was evaluated by comparing the degree of discoloration, delay of heading, shortening rate of stem length and percent of fertile grain etc. with the checked varieties. And the cold tolerance evaluative criteria were classified as strong(1~3), medium(4~6) and weak(7~9) in overall cold tolerance. (Seedling test) As for the degree of cold tolerance of the check variety, 'Boramchan' and 'Hanahreum No.2' showed a response of 'medium' and 'weak', respectively. However, there was no 'strong' line in the high yield rice breeding lines, 2 lines showed a 'medium' response, and 301 lines showed a 'weak' response. Therefore, except for a few lines(0.7%), most lines(99.3%) showed a 'weak' response. (Field test) In terms of the overall cold tolerance of the check variety, both 'Boramchan' and 'Hanahreum No.2' showed a 'medium' response. Similarly, there was no 'strong' line in the case of high yield rice breeding lines, 20 lines showed a 'medium' response, and 166 lines showed a 'weak' response. Therefore, except for some(10.8%) lines, most(89.2%) lines showed a 'weak' response. From the above results, we selected about 100 individuals with less seed shattering and degeneration of the ear tip, and with a relatively high percent of fertile grain, and are continuing to select lines with improved cold tolerance in the F4~F5 group in this year. As such, most of the Tongil-type rice varieties have poor cold tolerance and thus have low cultivation safety at low temperatures. However, it is important to select improved lines through generational progress because there are some lines that still have a certain level of cold tolerance among them.
