실선 시험에 의한 소성어업의 동요특성 (Experimental analysis on the motion response of the small fishing boat toward wave direction)

  • The motion of a small boat in seas is affected in relatively higher degrees than the case of a larger ship by the specific characteristics of sea waves, i.e., the wave length and height. Ship's motion caused by sea waves is a matter of special importance to small fishing boats, because they carry out fishing job in rough seas frequently. This is an experimental study on the rolling and pitching motions of full scale ship. In the experiment, the ship's motions were measured for head, how, beam, quarter and following seas. The experiment were carried out on board the training ship Pusan 404(160 GT) in the adjacent waters off NAM HYENG JAE DO on Dec. 13th 1994. The sea condition during the measurements was that wave height 2.5m, no swell and the wind velocity of 12 m/sec. Some statistic considerations were given to the observed data by the series analysis methods and discussed in this paper.

Assessment of whipping and springing on a large container vessel

  • Wave induced vibrations increase the fatigue and extreme loading, but this is normally neglected in design. The industry view on this is changing. Wave induced vibrations are often divided into springing and whipping, and their relative contribution to fatigue and extreme loading varies depending on ship design. When it comes to displacement vessels, the contribution from whipping on fatigue and extreme loading is particularly high for certain container vessels. A large modern design container vessel with high bow flare angle and high service speed has been considered. The container vessel was equipped with a hull monitoring system from a recognized supplier of HMON systems. The vessel has been operating between Asia and Europe for a few years and valuable data has been collected. Also model tests have been carried out of this vessel to investigate fatigue and extreme loading, but model tests are often limited to head seas. For the full scale measurements, the correlation between stress data and wind data has been investigated. The wave and vibration damage are shown versus heading and Beaufort strength to indicate general trends. The wind data has also been compared to North Atlantic design environment. Even though it has been shown that the encountered wind data has been much less severe than in North Atlantic, the extreme loading defined by IACS URS11 is significantly exceeded when whipping is included. If whipping may contribute to collapse, then proper seamanship may be useful in order to limit the extreme loading. The vibration damage is also observed to be high from head to beam seas, and even present in stern seas, but fatigue damage in general is low on this East Asia to Europe trade.

규칙파 중 플로팅 도크의 운동응답특성 및 계류장력 추정 (Prediction on Mooring Tension & Motion Response Characteristics of a Floating Dock in Regular Waves)

  • 이 연구에서는 상용코드(AQWA)를 이용하여 규칙파 중 8점 계류 중인 플로팅 도크의 계류 장력과 운동응답특성을 고찰하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 수심 10 m 연안환경(파 진폭 1.05 m, 파주기 3.85 sec, 풍속 20.21 m/s, 풍향 및 조류방향 $90^{\circ}$, 입사파 ${\chi}=180^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$$90^{\circ}$ 조건에서 수치 해를 적용하였다. 해석모델은 길이 140 m, 폭 32 m 및 높이 14.6 m의 강구조물로 현수선의 길이는 최대 120 m를 적용하였다. 해석결과 상하동요와 종동요는 선수파 보다 횡파에서 크게 나타났으며 계류 장력도 횡파와 풍하중에 의해 크게 작용하였다.

  • Remotely Operated Vehicle of 6000-meters is a new conceptual equipment made to replace the manned systems for investigating the deep-sea environment, and all of the ROV systems in operational condition strongly depend on the connecting cables. In this point of view dynamics of the ROV cable system is very important for operational and safety aspects as a cable generally encounters great tension. Researches have been executed on this problem, and most of papers have been mainly focused on the operational condition of ROV system in deep sea. This paper presents the dynamic cable response analysis during ROV launching condition rather than the operational one in order to provide the design guide of a ROV cable system in this circumstance, considering the coupling effects between cable and wave-induced ship motion. To obtain the variations of cable tensions during a ROV launching, a pre-stressed harmonic response analysis was carried out. Wave-induced tensions of the cable during ROV launching were obtained in real sea states using FE modeling, and the basic design guide of a ROV cable system was obtained.

소형어선의 크기에 따른 규칙파 중 운동응답 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Motion Response of Small Fishing Vessels According to Various Tonnage in Regular Waves)

  • 본 연구는 최근 해양사고가 점차 증가하고 있는 10톤 미만 소형어선의 규칙파 중 운동응답 특성에 대하여 수치해석을 통하여 분석하였다. 10톤 미만의 소형선박들을 크기별로 구분하여 해양사고 분석에 이용되고 있기 때문에 본 연구에서도 서로 다른 크기의 소형어선 3척을 대상으로 운동응답 해석을 이행하였다. 선수파인 경우 장파장 영역에서 속력이 높아질수록 상하동요 및 종동요 응답도 커지고 있는 현상을 확인하였다. 가장 작은 3톤급 어선의 운동응답이 다른 크기의 어선보다 더 크게 나타나는 특성을 보여주었다. 선수사파 상태에서의 횡동요 운동은, 선박의 크기와 관계없이 점차 속력이 높아질수록 운동응답의 최대값이 장파장 영역으로 이동되는 특성을 확인할 수 있었다. 선수사파와 횡파에서 3척의 소형어선 모두 속력이 가장 높은 15노트에서 횡동요 운동이 가장 크게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 선수파 및 선수사파를 받으면서 항행할 경우 속력을 낮추는 것이 종운동과 횡운동 영향을 감소시킬수 있는 방법이라고 보여진다. 횡파에 의한 횡동요는 속력 및 선박의 크기와 관계없이 특정 파장에서만 급격히 커지는 경향을 보여 주었다. 전진속력이 있을 경우 선수 사파에 비해서 선미사파에서의 확연한 횡동요 감소 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 선박의 크기 및 속력에 따라 선체운동응답의 최대값이 나타나는 특정 영역이 있으므로 이 운동 영향을 최소화 시킬 수 있는 운항방법이 고려되어 실행되어야 한다.
