경영형태별 산지 초지의 생산성 및 사료가치 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Productivity and Quality of Hilly Pasture by Management type)

  • 본 시험은 목장 경영형태에 따른 산지초지 조성시 생산성과 사료가치의 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 수행되었다. 시험에 이용된 초지는 강원도 평창군에 위치한 서울대학교 평창캠퍼스의 시험목장내에 2014년 9월 3일에 조사료 생산형(Forage production type, FP; 오차드그라스 18 + 톨페스큐 12 + 티머시 5 + 화이트클로버 5 kg/ha) 초지와 공공 목장형 (Public farm type, PF; 오차드그라스 12 + 톨페스큐 18 + 티머시 5 + 화이트클로버 5 kg/ha) 초지를 각각 0.5ha씩 조성을 하여 매년 4회 수확 또는 방목을 실시하였으며 파종된 목초의 생육특성, 수량 및 사료가치를 조사하였다. 초장은 화본과목초는 1차 수확시 가장 길었으며 두과목초는 2차 수확시에 가장 길었다. 건물함량은 매년 1차 수확시 가장 높았으며 2차 수확시 유의적으로 낮았다 (p<0.05). 그러나 2년차에서는 2차, 3차 및 4차 수확에 따른 차이는 없었다 (p>0.05). 식생변화에 있어서는 조성이후 시간이 경과함에 따라 두과목초의 비율이 점차 증가되는 경향을 보였으며 2차 및 3차 수확시 잡초와 나지의 비율이 높았지만 4차 수확시는 줄어들었다. 생초 수량은 1년차 전 수확시기에서 목장 형태별 유의성이 있었으나 2년차에서는 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 건물 수량도 생초수량과 같은 경향을 보였으며 전체적으로는 조사료 생산형 초지의 수량이 유의적으로 높게 나타났다 (p<0.05). 공공목장형 초지의 가축 섭취량은 1년차에서는 1,452 kg/ha 이었으나 2년차에는 1,743 kg/ha로 더 높았으며 방목이용율은 3차 방목시 가장 높게 나타났다. 경영형태별 초지의 사료가치는 큰 차이가 없었으나 수확시기 간에는 차이가 나타났다. 조단백질 함량은 1차 수확시 가장 낮았으며 TND 함량은 1차 수확시 가장 높았고 RFV 값은 4차 수확시 가장 높았다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 한국형 산지초지 조성을 위해서는 현장 상황에 맞는 초지의 조성이 중요하며 생산성에 있어서는 조사료 생산형 모델이 더 우수한 것으로 나타났으며 도출된 결과들은 향후 공공목장형 초지 이용을 위한 기초 자료로 제공되었으면 한다.

Straw to Grain Ratio Equation for Combine Simulation

  • Purpose: The ratio of straw to grain mass as a function of cutting height affects combine efficiency and power consumption and is an important input parameter to combine simulation models. An equation was developed to predict straw to grain ratios for wheat as a function of cutting height. Methods: Two mass functions, one for straw and one for grain, were developed using regression techniques and measured data collected in west Texas during the summer, and used to predict the straw to grain ratio. Results: Three equations were developed to facilitate the simulation of a combine during wheat harvest. Two mass functions, one for straw and one for grain, were also developed; a quadratic equation describes the straw mass with an $R^2$ of 0.992. An S-shaped curve describes the mass function for grain with an $R^2$ of 0.957. An equation for straw to grain ratio of wheat was developed as a function of cutting height. The straw to grain ratio has an $R^2$ value of 0.947. Conclusions: In all cases, the equations had $R^2$ values above 0.94 and were significant at the 99.9 percent probability level (alpha = 0.001). Although all three equations are useful, the grain mass and straw to grain ratio equations will have direct application in combine simulation models.

Compact electromagnetic vibration suppressor and energy harvester; an experimental study

  • In this study, an electromagnetic dynamic vibration suppressor and energy harvester is designed and studied. In this system, a gear mechanism is used to convert the linear motion to continuous rotary motion. Governing equations of motion for the system are derived and validated using the experimental results. Effects of changing the main parameters of the presented system, such as mass ratio, stiffness ratio and gear ratio on the electro-mechanical behavior of system are investigated. Moreover, using so-called Weighted Cost Function, the optimum parameters of the system are obtained. Finally, it is shown that the presented electromagnetic dynamic vibration absorber not only can reduce the undesired vibration of the main system but also it can harvest acceptable electrical energy.

고추수확기의 탈실장치 개발 (I) - 탈실장치의 소형화와 회수율의 제고 - (Development of a Pepper Removal Mechanism for a Red-Pepper Harvester (I)- Size Reduction of the Pepper Removal Mechanism and Improvement of Pepper Recovery Ratio -)

  • A pepper harvester using a pair of counter rotating helically wound cylinders as a pepper removal mechanism has been developed. Pepper harvesting by machines under the customary cultivation practice was expected to lower land productivity, that most farmers were concerned about. As one way to compensate for loss in land productivity by machine harvest, experts on pepper cultivation suggested change of both varieties and plant density per area. From the view of machine design, their suggestion implied that distance between rows should be narrower and height of the pepper removal mechanism could be shorter. Experiments to improve perfect pepper recovery ratio and to reduce size of the pepper removal mechanism was accomplished. In order to be a economically feasible harvester, minimum pepper recovery ratio was required to be greater or equal to 80%. The research goal was achieved by both reducing the diameter of the wire-helices from 30 cm to 18 cm and increasing rotational speed of the wire-helices up to 425 rpm. The best perfect pepper recovery ratio was 82.3%. Validity of experiment design and interpretation on statistical analysis were discussed. To understand the pepper removal mechanism properly, a pepper removal theory based physics was judged to be necessary.

Change Detection of the Tonle Sap Floodplain, Cambodia, using ALOS PALSAR Data

  • Water level of the Tonle Sap is largely influenced by the Mekong River. During the wet season, the lacustrine landform and vegetated areas are covered with water. Change detection in this area provides information required for human activities and sustainable development around the Tonle Sap. In order to detect the changes in the Tonle Sap floodplain, fifteen ALOS-PALSAR L-band data acquired from January 2007 to January 2009 and examined in this study. Since L-band is able to penetrate into vegetation cover, it enables us to study the changes according to water level of floodplain developed in the rainforest. Four types of images were constructed and studied include 1) ratio images, 2) correlation coefficient images, 3) texture feature ratio images and 4) multi-color composite images. Change images (in each 46 day interval) extracted from the ratio images, coherence images and texture feature ratio images were formed for detecting land cover change. Two RGB images are also obtained by compositing three images acquired in the early, in the middle and at the end of the rainy season in 2007 and 2008. Combination of the methods results that the change images present the relationship between vegetation and water level, leaf fall forest as well as cultivation and harvest crop.

채취시기에 따른 우엉 잎의 휘발성 향기성분 분석 (Analyses of the Volatile Flavor Composition of Burdock (Arctium lappa L.) Leaves according to Harvesting Season)

  • This study investigated the chemical composition of burdock (Arctium lappa L.) leaves essential oil, and the quantitative changes of the major terpene compounds according to the specific harvesting season. The essential oils obtained by the hydrodistillation extraction (HDE) method from the aerial parts of the burdock leaves were analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The essential oil composition of this plant was characterized by the higher content of phytol and 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone. Seventy seven (98.28%) volatile flavor compounds were identified in the essential oil from the burdock leaves harvested during the spring season of 2012, and phytol (33.47%) and 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone (32.47%) were the most abundant compounds. Eighty eight (99.08%) compounds were identified in the essential oil from the leaves harvested during the autumn season of 2012, and in this case, phytol (37.35%) and 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone (34.67%) were also the most abundant compounds. These two volatile components were confirmed as the major oil components of the burdock leaves during the time of any harvest. The ratio between the two components contained in the burdock essential oils did not differ significantly by harvesting season. But overall, the essential oil harvested during the spring season contained 65.94% of the two major components, while for the essential oil harvested during the autumn season, the total amount of these two major components was 72.02%. While the main ingredients of the essential oils were found to be unchanged from one harvest time to the next, it was found to differ in content. For the burdock leaves, the quality index of the volatile constituents according to the harvest time would be more useful for utilizing the total quantity other than the proportion between phytol and 6,10,4-trimethyl-2-pentadecone.

무선전력 통신네트워크를 위한 Backscatter 통신 (Backscatter Communication for Wireless-Powered Communication Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 전력의 제약이 있는 센서들의 장거리통신을 가능케 하는 backscatter 통신에 대해 소개하고, 이를 접목해 무선전력 통신네트워크(wireless-powered communication networks, WPCN)의 doubly near-far 문제를 해결하는 방안을 논의한다. Backscatter에 기반한 WPCN에서 유저들은 하이브리드 엑세스 지점으로부터 전송되는 신호와 반송파 송신기로부터 전송되는 반송파 신호로부터 에너지를 수집한 후, 주파수 편이 변조를 이용한 반송파 신호의 반사를 통해 정보를 전송하게 된다. 위의 통신환경에서 energy-free 조건과 신호대 잡음비 outage 영역을 정의한다. 또한 본 논문에서는 에너지 수집과 정보 전송을 위한 최적의 시간 할당 방법을 제안하고, 이를 통해 시스템 전체의 정보전송 효율을 최대화할 수 있는 backscatter 기반의 수집 후 전송 프로토콜을 설계한다. 실험결과를 통해 제안한 backscatter 기법이 종래의 WPCN에 비해 광범위한 서비스 영역과 축소된 신호대 잡음비 outage 영역을 갖는 것을 보였고, 정보전송 효율을 최대화할 수 있음을 보였다.

Effect of preharvest application of chitosan on the growth and quality of peach fruit (Prunus persica L.)

  • Chitosan with a natural antimicrobial property has been introduced to protect horticultural crops from diseases as an environmentally friendly method. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the pre-harvest application of chitosan on growth and quality during the late stage of fruit development and on the simulated marketing of the peach fruit (Prunus persica L.). The application of chitosan with calcium chloride ($100mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$) three times at one week intervals 4 weeks before the harvest significantly increased the fruit weight, changed the fruit shape, and reduced the fruit length/diameter ratio giving the peach fruits a round oblate shape. The calcium treatment contributed to enhancing or maintaining the storage potential by increasing the flesh firmness. However, at higher concentrations of $CaCl_2$, i.e., > $600mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, the positive effects of the chitosan application were offset, and fruit growth was not affected by calcium alone. The application of the chitosan/calcium mixture delayed fruit softening; however, this effect was shortened when the storage temperature was $20^{\circ}C$ rather than $15^{\circ}C$. The internal quality of the fruit was profoundly affected by the concentration of calcium added to the chitosan, and delayed fruit maturation was observed at a higher concentration of calcium. The pre-harvest application of chitosan with calcium contributes to the enhancement of food safety by inhibiting the occurrence of diseases during postharvest handling. Considering the above results, chitosan has the potential to improve both the yield of peach fruits and their storability. Because chitosan can enhance the freshness and shelf-life of fresh produce, it is necessary to examine its effects on other horticultural crops.

고려인삼 신품종 특성 (Characteristics of New Cultivars in Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer)

  • 고려인삼 8개 신품종의 특성을 요약하면 아래와 같다. 1) 다경발생율이 연풍은 45%로 가장 높았고, 금품은 7%로 가장 낮았으나, 지상부생육은 금품이 가장 양호 하였고, 연풍이 가장 낮았다. 2) 종자결실율은 금품이 85.4%로 가장 높았으며, 천풍이 69.1%로 가장낮았다. 종자수확량은 연풍이 108.3개로 가장많았고, 천풍이 77.5개로 가장 적었다. 3) 엽소발생율은 천풍이 타품종보다 각년생에서 높았으나 연풍은 다소 낮았다. 4) 뿌리 부위별 무게분포비율에서 동체의 비율이 천풍 등 5품종은 49%-55.9%로 자경재래종 63,1%보다 낮았으나, 지근의 비율은 5개 신품종이 19,3%-23.3%로 자경재래종 13.2% 보다 높았고, 세근은 차이가 없었다. 5) 수량은 연풍>금풍>고풍>천풍=선풍>자경재래증 순으로 연풍이 가장 높았고,동장은 천풍이 8.0cm로 가장 길었으나 연풍이 6.4cm로 가장 짧았다. 적변삼 발생율은 신품종이 0.2-9,5%로 자경재래종 16.3%보다 현저히 낮았다. 6) 천삼의 생출율은 천풍>금풍>고풍>선풍>연풍>청선>자경재래종의 순서로 천풍이 높았으며, 천지삼의 생출율도 같은 경향이었다. 7) 품종별 동체의 단위무게 당 total ginsenosides 함량은 금풍 8.53mg, 연풍8.13mg, 고풍7.47mg로 높았으나, 천풍과 선풍은 각각 5.73mg과 4.87mg로 다소낮았다.

식이섭취와 작업할동량이 일부 농촌여성들의 리보플라빈 영양상태에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Intake and Work Activity on Seasonal Variation of Riboflavin Status in Rural Women)

  • We examined the relationship among riboflavin intake, work activity, erythrocyte glutathione reductase activity coefficient(EGR AC)and urinary riboflavin excretion. We also attempted to determine factors affecting seasonal riboflavin status of rural women. All information about nutrient intake, work activity and riboflavin biochemical status was repeatly collected in three seasons ; farming season(June), harvest season(October), nonfarming season(February). EGR AC was negatively correlated with riboflavin intake(P<0.005) and positively correlated with the duration(min) of farming activity(P<0.005) and the percentage of lean body mass(LBM) (%) representing long term physical activity(P<0.05) in harvestseason. Urinary riboflavin excretion was positively correlated with the ratio of riboflavin intake to 1,000kcal of energy expenditure (P<0.05) in farming season and negatively correlated with the duration(min) of farming activity (P<0.05) and crude nitrogen balance(P<0.005) in harvest season. It appeared that EGR AC seems to increase and urinary riboflavin excretion seems to decrease as work activity increase. Therefore work activity would be expected to deteriorate riboflavin status. Multiple regression analysis of variables showed that in general EGR AC was affected by riboflavin and energy intakes, energy expenditure, energy balance, the duration(min) of farming activity, LBM (%). Urinary riboflavin excretion was affected by riboflavin and protein intakes, LBM(kg) and crude nitrogen balance. Crude nitrogen balance affected urinary riboflavin excretion in all seasons. The result indicated that work activity as well as nutrient intake seemed to affect riboflavin status, especially EGR AC was affected preferentially be work activity in all seasons.
