우렁쉥이의 가공적성 (SUITABILITY CYNTHIA RORETZI DRASCHE FOR PROCESSING)

  • 양식우렁쉥이의 년중 월별비만도와 화학성분을 측정하여 가공적성은 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 비만도는 $4\~7$월과 $10\~12$월에 높다. 2. 단백질은 $3\~6$월과 $8\~11$월에 함량이 많아 각각 $5.9\~6.8\%$$6.5\~8.4\%$였다. 그리고 회분도 같은 기간에 약간 높았다. 지질은 8월과 12월에 함량이 많았으며 각각 $2.45\%$$2.7\%$였다. 글리코겐함량은 $3\~5$월과 $9\~10$월에 많았으며 각각 $7.3\~7.8\%$$5.2\~6.0%$였다. 3. 비만도 및 화학성분 측정 결과로서 가공적기을 판단한다면 $3\~6$월이 가장 적합한 시기라고 볼수 있다.

Nitrogen Translocation and Dry Matter Accumulation of Direct Seeded Rice in No Tillage Rice-Vetch Cropping

  • Uptake, assimilation and translocation of nitrogen and dry matter assimilation and translocation in ten rice cultivars were observed in no-till direct-sown rice-vetch cropping system. There was a large degree of variation in N-uptake, grain yield, nitrogen translocation efficiency and dry matter assimilation and translocation in tested rice cultivars. Forty kg N/ha base, as compound fertilizer (21-17-21% of N-P-K) three weeks after sowing and 30 kg N/ha top-dressed at panicle initiation stage as in the form of (NH$_4$)$_2$$CO_2$ was applied. ‘Newbounet’, ‘Daesanbyeo’, and ‘Hwayeongbyeo’ showed higher translocation efficiency. The contribution of pre-heading dry matter assimilates to grain ranged from 33% to 99% of dry grain weight. Dry matter of ‘Calrose 76’ was lower than Newbounet but N content was higher in Calrose 76 than Newbonnet. By maturity, N content in vegetative parts declined considerably more than dry matter, vegetative and reproductive parts, N translocation efficiency, and N harvest index. Nitrogen translocation efficiency was greater in ‘Nonganbyeo’, Daesanbyeo, and Newbounet. Grain N concentration was positively correlated with N concentration or N content of the vegetative parts at heading in Nonganbyeo, ‘Dasanbyeo’, ‘Dongjinbyeo’, and Newbonnet. These results indicated that the greater amount of dry matter and N accumulated before heading stage, the higher translocation rates of dry matter to grain and the greater net losses at maturity.

Mapping Paddy Rice Varieties Using Multi-temporal RADARSAT SAR Images

  • This study classified paddy fields according to rice varieties and monitored temporal changes in rice growth using SAR backscatter coefficients (${\sigma}^{\circ}$). A growing period time-series of backscatter coefficients was set up for nine fine-beam mode RADARSAT-1 SAR images from April to October 2005. The images were compared with field-measured rice growth parameters such as leaf area index (LAI), plant height, fresh and dry biomass, and water content in grain and plants for 45 parcels in Dangjin-gun, Chungnam Province, South Korea. The average backscatter coefficients for early-maturing rice varieties (13 parcels) ranged from -18.17 dB to -6.06 dB and were lower than those for medium-late maturing rice varieties during most of the growing season. Both crops showed the highest backscatter coefficient values at the heading stage (late July) for early-maturing rice, and the difference was greatest before harvest for early-maturing rice. The temporal difference in backscatter coefficients between rice varieties may play a key role in identifying early-maturing rice fields. On the other hand, comparisons with field-measured parameters of rice growth showed that backscatter coefficients decreased or remained on a plateau after the heading stage, even though the growth of the rice canopy had advanced.

무인비행체 영상을 활용한 고랭지배추 정식시기 추정 (Estimating of Transplanting Period of Highland Kimchi Cabbage Using UAV Imagery)

  • Growth monitoring of highland Kimchi cabbage is very important to respond the fluctuations in supply and demand from middle of August to early September in Korea. For evaluating Kimchi cabbage growth, it needs to classify the transplanting period of Kimchi cabbage, preferentially. This study was conducted to estimate the transplanting period of highland Kimchi cabbage from 2015 to 2016 in the main production area of highland Kimchi cabbage, Anbandegi, Maebongsan, and Gwinemi. Correlation between NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) from UAV images and days after transplanting of Kimchi cabbage was high in early transplanting period. But because the growth curve of Kimchi cabbage showed S-type, joint use of multi-temporal linear regression equation for estimation of transplanting period was more suitable. Using application of these equations at Anbandegi, Maebongsan, and Gwinemi, we made the map of transplanting periods of highland Kimchi cabbage. Generally, highland Kimchi cabbage is harvested in sixty days later since transplanting. As a result, we could estimate the harvest time and area of highland Kimchi cabbage.

  • To investigate the factors of the improvement of cultivation methods according to the plant type, three Burley tobacco cultivars were done. Experiments on the variability of plant type and factors representing the productivity and quality of the cultivar were subsequently carried out in relation to different fertilizer levels. Results are summarized as below. Use of more fertilizer resulted in higher plant height and longer leaf length but smaller mean leaf inclination(MLI). The horizontal leaf area distribution became greater in parts distal to the stem and the vertical leaf area distribution became greater in lower half than in upper half as the amount of fertilizer applied was increased. Br. 49 was the largest but Br. 21 and NTN 77 were similar with respect to both CGR and NAR. The yield was greater in larger MLI cultivars. These three characteristics became greater when the tobacco were heavier in the cultivars of larger MLI and increased with higher amount of fertilizer. Harvest index became greater as the amount of fertilizer decreased but not significantly differ among the cultivars. Total nitrogen content and nitrate - form nitrogen content were greater, more amount of fertilizer, and larger MLI cultivar plots. Total nitrogen content was higher in upper leaves. The filling power of tobacco leaves decreased but combustibility of leaves showed not significant trend as fertilizer application level increased.

Growth Monitoring for Soybean Smart Water Management and Production Prediction Model Development

  • With the development of advanced technology, automation of agricultural work is spreading. In association with the 4th industrial revolution-based technology, research on field smart farm technology is being actively conducted. A state-of-the-art unmanned automated agricultural production demonstration complex was established in Naju-si, Jeollanam-do. For the operation of the demonstration area platform, it is necessary to build a sophisticated, advanced, and intelligent field smart farming model. For the operation of the unmanned automated agricultural production demonstration area platform, we are building data on the growth of soybean for smart cultivated crops and conducting research to determine the optimal time for agricultural work. In order to operate an unmanned automation platform, data is collected to discover digital factors for water management immediately after planting, water management during the growing season, and determination of harvest time. A subsurface drip irrigation system was established for smart water management. Irrigation was carried out when the soil moisture was less than 20%. For effective water management, soil moisture was measured at the surface, 15cm, and 30cm depth. Vegetation indices were collected using drones to find key factors in soybean production prediction. In addition, major growth characteristics such as stem length, number of branches, number of nodes on the main stem, leaf area index, and dry weight were investigated. By discovering digital factors for effective decision-making through data construction, it is expected to greatly enhance the efficiency of the operation of the unmanned automated agricultural production demonstration area.

Strengthening Food Security through Food Quality Improvement - Focus on Grain Quality and Self-Sufficiency Rate

  • The concern about food security is rising as the unstable situation of food supply and demand due to the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and turbulent political situation. Korea's global food security index (GFSI), analyzed by the Economist Group, is considered good, but the level continuously decreases in comparing food security levels by country. In particular, Korea is highly dependent on food imports, and food and grain self-sufficiency rates continuously decrease. Therefore, increasing those rates to strengthen food security is urgent. Among the major grains, the self-sufficiency of wheat, com, and soybeans, except rice, is relatively low. Unlike the decrease in the annual rice consumption, the annual wheat consumption has been continuously maintained or increased, which is required public-private efforts to increase the self-sufficiency rate of wheat. Applying the government's policies implemented to increase the self-sufficiency rate of rice in the past will help increase the self-sufficiency rate of wheat. In other words, expanding wheat production and infrastructure, stabilizing supply and demand, and establishing a distribution system can be applied. However, the processing capability of wheat and rice is different, which is necessary to improve wheat quality and processing technology to produce consumer-preferred wheat-based products. The wheat and flour quality can be improved through breeding, cultivation, post-harvest management, and milling. In addition, research on formulation, processes, packaging, and storage to improve the quality of wheat-based products should be done continuously. Overall, food security could be strengthened by expanding wheat production and consumption, improving wheat quality, and increasing wheat self-sufficiency.

제주산 감귤류의 품종 및 수확시기별 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Citrus Fruits According to the Harvest Date and Variety)

  • 제주산 감귤류 6개 품종에 대한 수확시기별 성분분석 및 품질특성을 검토하였다. 궁천조생, 하귤, 스타치의 경우 과형지수가 $1.14{\sim}1.38$으로 타원형 형태였고 당유자, 지각, 병귤은 과형지수가 $0.89{\sim}1.03$로 거의 구형이였다. 과중은 당유자가 가장 컸고, 그 다음이 하귤, 지각, 궁천조생, 병귤, 스타치 순이었다. 과육율은 궁천조생이 가장 높았으며 그 다음 병귤, 하귤, 스타치, 당유자, 지각 순이었다. 과육율은 궁천조생이 가장 많았고 스타치, 병귤, 하귤, 당유자, 지각 순이었다. 과실이 성숙함에 따라 가용성고형물의 함량은 증가되는 경향이었다. 또한, 당산비도 증가되는 양상이었고, 특히 궁천조생, 병귤은 완숙기 때 다른 품종에 비해 각각 10.39, 7.67로 높게 나타내었다. 산 함량은 하귤, 지각, 당유자, 스타치 품종의 경우 9월 하순에서 1월 중순까지 $3{\sim}5%$ 이상 높게 유지되어 감귤식초와 같은 향미식품으로 이용이 가능하다고 본다. Vitamin C는 스타치에서 77.48 mg/100g으로 가장 많이 검출되었고, 시기별 유의성은 없었다. 품종별 과피의 색도를 측정한 결과 L, a, b값은 성숙함에 따라 증가되는 경향을 보였으며, 11월 하순까지 하귤, 당유자의 과피에서 a값이 음의 값을 나타내어 이 시기까지 착색이 이루어지지 않았고 궁천조생, 스타치, 병귤인 경우 완전 착색이 이루어졌음을 알 수 있었다.

담수표면산파와 기계이앙재배 벼의 생육 및 건물 생산 (Growth and Dry Matter Production of Direct Seeding on Flooded Paddy Surface and Machine Transplanting Rice)

  • 담수표면산파 벼의 생육시기별 경수변화, 건물 생산 특성 그리고 질소시비량에 따른 수량 및 건물생산 정도를 기계이앙재배 벼와 비교하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 담수표면산파 벼는 기계이앙재배 벼에 비하여 생육 중기까지 경수 증가속도가 빠른 반면, 생육중기 이후 분얼수 감소시기 및 속도가 상대적으로 빠르고 컸으며 단위 면적당 수수는 초기 분얼수가 많았던 담수표면산파 벼에서 많았다. 2. 엽면적지수는 담수표면산파 벼에서 수수분화기까지 높았으나, 그 이후부터는 기계이앙재배 벼에서 다소 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 3. 엽신 질소함량은 파종 후 40일까지는 담수표면산파 벼가 많았으나 그 후부터는 점차 적어지는 경향이었으며, 군락광합성 및 생육시기별 건물생산속도 역시 파종 후 50∼60일을 기점으로 기계이앙재배 벼에 비해 담수표면산파 벼에서 점차 적어졌고 이런 경향은 출수기 이후에도 계속 유지되었다. 4. 질소시비량 증가에 따라 기계이앙재배 벼 및 담수표면산파 벼 모두 수확기 총 건물중, 출수기 엽면적지수 및 군락광합성량 모두 많아지는 경향이었다. 총 건물중은 담수표면산파 벼에서 많았으며 엽면적지수 및 군락광합성은 기계이앙재배 벼에서 많았다. 또한 단위 엽면적당 질소함량은 두 재배법 모두 시비량 증가에 따라 증가하였으나 기계이앙재배 벼에서 많았다.

  • 옥수수의 우수 품종선발을 위하여 3가지 선발지수를 계산하여 이들 지수의 효과를 비교하였든바 1. William의 기초지수가 가장 계산하기도 쉬웠고 우수 품종선발에서도 효과적이었다. 2. Pesek과 Baker가 제창한 선발지수법은 관여형질의 유전분산 및 공분산을 계산하는데 까다로웠고 또한 공시품종수가 적든가 시험연수나 장소가 많지 않은 경우에는 이들 유전분산 및 공분산이 낮았으며 본 실험에 있어서는 큰 효과가 없었다. 3. 퍼듀 대학의 지수계산법은 계산도 용이하여 사용하기에 편리하였지만 다만 관여형질 등에 대한 중요도를 모두 동일시 하는데 큰 결점이 있었다. 4. 관여형질들을 경제적 가치로 환산하는데 다음과 같은 공식을 이용하였다. 1) 수분함량 : $(Y-15.5){\times}$0.0065{\times}$분셀/에카 여기서 Y는 수확시 수분함량이었고 $0.0065는 1붓셀의 옥수수에서 1%의 수분을 건조시키는데 요하는 경비였다. 2) 뿌리 및 줄기도복 : 도복율(%)${\times}$붓셀당가격${\div}$50${\div}$전체시험구의 평균수량.
