컨테이너 크레인의 흔들림 방지장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Residual Sway Motion Control System for the Container Crane)

  • The sway control problem of the pendulum motion of a container hanging on the trolly, which transports containers from a container ship to trucks, is considered in the paper. In the container crane control problem, suppressing the residual swing motion of the container at the end of acceleration or the case of that the unexpected disturbance input exists is main issue. For this problem, in general, the trolley motion control strategy is introduced and applied. But in this paper, we introduce and synthesize a new type of swing motion control system. In this control system, a small auxiliary mass is installed on the spreader. And the actuator reacts against the auxiliary mass, applying intertial control forces to the container to reduce the swing motion in the desired manner. In this paper, we apply the LMI approach and simultaneous optimization design method to design the anti-swing motion control system for the controlled plant. And the simulation result shows that the proposed control strategy is shown to be robust to disturbances like winds and initial sway motion.

유명 연예인 자살보도가 일반인의 자살시도에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Famous Entertainer's Suicides on Suicide Attempts of the Public)

  • Purpose: The study explored the influence of the suicide of two famous entertainers on the suicide attempts of the public. Method: The subjects of the descriptive study were 888 suicide attempt patients recruited from October 2007 to September 2009 in an emergency centre located in S-city. The research tools were developed at the Centre for Disease Control. Results: The frequency of suicide attempts during the 6 months and 12 months preceding and following the gas-related suicide of celebrity A were ${\chi}^2$=18.14 and ${\chi}^2$=25.97, respectively, and both were significant(both p<.001). The frequency of suicide attempts of the 6 and 12months before and after the release of report of celebrity B's hanging suicide were ${\chi}^2$=3.85 and ${\chi}^2$=3.47, respectively, and both were significant (both p<.05). Conclusion: These results showed that reports of suicide of celebrities influences suicide attempts of the public. Multiple factors that can influence suicide attempts should be further identified and researched.

Molecular characterization of lysine 6-dehydrogenase from Achromobacter denitrificans

  • An inducible lysine 6-dehydrogenase (Lys 6-DH), which catalyzes the oxidative deamination of the 6-amino group of L-lysine in the presence of $NAD^+$, was purified to homogeneity from Achromobacter denitrificans, yielding a homodimeric protein of 80 kDa. The enzyme was specific for the substrate L-lysine and $NAD^+$ served as a cofactor. The dimeric enzyme associated into a hexamer in the presence of 10 mM L-lysine. The $K_m$ values for L-lysine and $NAD^+$ were 5.0 and 0.09 mM, respectively. The lys 6-dh gene was cloned and overexpressed in E. coli. The open reading frame was 1,107 nucleotides long and encoded a peptide containing 368 amino acids with 39,355 Da. The recombinant enzyme was purified to homogeneity and characterized. Enzyme activities and kinetic properties of the recombinant enzyme were almost the same as those of the endogenous enzyme obtained from A. denitrificans. Crystals of the enzyme were obtained using the hanging drop method.

유한요소해석을 통한 EMS 레일 단면 해석 (Section Analysis of EMS Rail by Finite Element Analysis)

  • 운반설비 중 보편적 기술의 하나인 EMS (Electric Monorail System)는 천장 트러스에 매달려 운반물을 이송하는 장치로, 공간 활용의 극대화라는 장점과 더불어 저소음 등 작업 환경이 개선된다는 점에서 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 운반물의 하중을 지지하고 고속 이송시 가이드 역할을 하여 이탈을 방지하는 EMS 레일에 대하여 다양한 방법으로 해석하고, 이를 바탕으로 레일 단면 설계의 최적화 방향을 모색한다. 경량이면서 고강성을 지닌 레일은 트러스에 가해지는 하중을 최소화 하고 이로 인한 레일 생산비 절감 및 설치 작업성 향상 등을 기대할 수 있다.

Adsorptive Behavior of Catechol Violet and Its Thorium Complex on Mercury Electrode in Aqueous Media

  • Cyclic voltammetry and chronocoulometry have been used for characterization of catechol violet (CV) at the hanging mercury drop electrode in acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer solution. At pH 2.94 a nearly symmetric cyclic voltammetric wave due to an irreversible weak adsorption of CV on mercury was obtained at concentration of $0.53{\mu}mol\;dm ^{-3}$. Under these conditions, CV adsorbes in a monolayer. Upon increasing the concentration, the symmetry of the wave decreases; it can be attributed to a mixed diffusion adsorption process. The amount of the adsorbed catechol violet on the HMDE expressed as surface concentration as well as the surface areaf occupied by one molecule$(\sigma)$ were calculated. It was found that the values obtained for f and o utilizing cyclic voltammetric and chrono-coulometry are almost identical. A 1:1 and 1:2 Th (IV)-CV complexes are formed on addition of thorium (IV) to catechol violet. These complexes are adsorbed and reduced on the HMDE at more negative potentials than the peak potential of free CV, Using the square-wave (SW) technique, the adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry, ACSV, of these complexes was studied. It was found that the SW-ACSV of Th(IV)-CV can be applied to the determination of thorium at the nanomole level. Optimum conditions and the analytical method of determination were presented and discussed.

연속 강 플레이트거더교에서 내부지점보강과 외부프리스트레싱의 적용에 관한 해석적 연구 (An Analytical Study on Application of Section Increment at Internal Support with External Prestressing Method to Continuous Steel Plate Girder Bridge)

  • 본 연구에서는 해석의 결과 내부 지점부 보강과 외부프리스트레싱의 도입이 일반 플레이트거더교의 단면보다 단면감소의 효과가 있음을 확인하였으며 특히 외부프리스트레싱의 도입으로 얻은 솟음은 교량의 처짐을 감소시켜 사용성 측면에서 긍정적인 효과를 나타냄을 확인하였다. 해석결과를 바탕으로 하여 거더 개수 별 적용가능 단면을 도시하였으며, 거더 개수가 4개일 경우에 한하여 회귀분석을 시행해 회귀식을 제시함으로써 추후에 이와 같은 단면을 사용할 때 응력예측을 가능할 수 있게 하였다.

정공청 장군 유품(중요민속자료 38호)의 분석과 보존처리 (Identification and conservation of Kongchong Jung's relics)

  • 조선시대의 정공청 장군의 유품 중 무기류의 주요한 재료인 목재의 보존을 위한 사전조사로써 재질조사와 수종식별 및 보존처리를 하였다. 재질의 구조적인 조사는 육안 및 X-ray로 실시하였으며 유물의 상태는 일부 미세한 할렬이 나타났지만 대체로 양호하였다. 광학현미경을 통한 수종조사 결과, 각 유품의 해당수종은 화살대가 대나무류, 깃봉이 육박나무, 깃대가 물푸레나무류, 족자대가 소나무이었다. 보존처리를 위한 치수 안정화 약재로써 세틸 알코올로 처리하였으며, 처리 후 접합고정에는 초산 비닐계와 에폭시계 접착제를 사용하였다.

Purification, Crystallization, Preliminary X-ray Diffraction and Molecular-Replacement Studies of White-Breasted Water hen (Amaurornis Phoenicurus) Haemoglobin

  • Haemoglobin is an interesting physiologically significant protein composed of specific functional prosthetic haem and globin moieties. In recent decades, there has been substantial interest in attempting to understand the structural basis and functional diversity of avian haemoglobins (Hbs). Towards this end, purification, crystallization, preliminary X-ray diffraction and molecular-replacement studies have been carried out on Amaurornis phoenicurus Hb. Crystals were grown by the hanging drop vapor-diffusion method using PEG 2000 and NaCl as precipitants. The crystals belonged to the primitive monoclinic system $P2_1$, with unit-cell parameters $a=65.33{\AA}$, $b=93.14{\AA}$, $c=98.54{\AA}$, ${\beta}=100.48^{\circ}$; a complete data set was collected to a resolution of $2.6{\AA}$. The Matthews coefficient of $2.30{\AA}^3Da^{-1}$ for the crystal indicated the presence of two ${\alpha}_2{\beta}_2$ tetramers in the asymmetric unit.

Suspended Columns for Seismic Isolation in Structures (SCSI): Experimental and numerical studies

  • In this paper, a modified and improved seismic isolation system called suspension columns for seismic isolation was investigated. An experimental study of the proposed isolation method, together with theoretical and numerical analyses, has thoroughly been conducted. In the proposed method, during the construction of the foundation, some cavities are created at the position of the columns inside the foundation and the columns are placed inside the cavities and hanged from the foundation by flexible cables rather being directly connected to the foundation. Since the columns are suspended and due to the gap between the columns and walls of the cavities, the structure is able to move freely to each side thus, the transmitted seismic actions are reduced. The main parameter of this isolation technique is the length of the suspension cable. As the cable length is changed, the natural frequency of the structure is also changed, thus, the desired frequency can be achieved by means of an appropriate cable length. As the experimental phase of the study, a steel frame structure with two floors was constructed and subjected to the acceleration of three earthquakes using a shaking table with different hanging cable lengths. The structural responses were recorded in terms of acceleration and relative displacement. The experimental results were compared to the theoretical and numerical ones, obtained from the MATLAB programming and the finite element software ABAQUS, showing a suitable agreement between them. The results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed isolation method in reducing the seismic effects on the structure.

우리 나라 굴양식업의 발상과 발달과정 (Development of Oyster Culture Industry in Korea)

  • The author investigated the history of oyster culture in Korea through examining old books and reports dealing with the fishery. Oysters have been produced in the all coastal areas in Korea, especially the center areas of production were the Hwangupo (Hamkyongbuk-do), Younghungman (Hamkyongnam-do), the estuary of Nakdonggang (Kyongsangnam-do), Kwangyangman, Haechangman, the estuary of Yongsangang (Chollanam-do), Yonghoto (Hwanghae-do) and the estuary of Uprockgang, where the large size oyster (more than 40cm in shell height) inhabited in form of groups. It was called by nine different names in the old times, Gul, Seukhwa and Moryeo were the most common names. The oyster was used as 46 kinds of medicinal stuff. The habitat forms of natural oyster can be distinguished to two types; one is that oyster is exposed to the air during the period of low tide (A-type), another is that oyster is not (B-type). The first oyster culture by the old books in Korea was started about 530 years ago as the bottom culture method derived from the A-type of oyster. After long years, the hanging culture method might have been started from the hint of the habitat form of B-type. The oyster culture in Korea developed based on the habitat forms of natural oyster at the biginning of 1900s. After World War II, the Korean government strongly recommded the laver farmers to culture oyster as relief measures. At that time, the stone culture method was mainly adopted. The quantity of oyster production is now about $15{\times}10^6{\sim}19{\times}10^6\;\frac{M}{T}$, and the half of oyster production including seed oyster is exported to the foreign countries.
