  • The electromagnectic modal analysis method for the multiscreen structure with periodic slot array with including conductor thickness effect is presented. The multiscreen structure is seen to be exactly equivalent to a microwave guide closed by phase-shift walls. From this viewpoint, the entire generalized scattering matrix of the multiscreen structure is calculated by the cascade connection of the scattering matrices obtained by the modal analysis at guide junctions and the transmission matrices of guide region. The present method is verified in comparison with the results calculated by the previous method of moment for single screen structure. As an application example of the present method, the spatial filter having multiscreen structure is designed and the interesting characteristics such as transmission and reflection coefficient versus frequency & angle are investigated.

  • This paper is concerned with the active control experiments on elevator vibrations by means of the active roller guide. To this end, a roller guide was designed using a voice-coil actuator and linear guide. A simple proportional control algorithm combined with the band-pass filter was implemented using the DSP. Based on the initial experiments, a new control system which can handle lateral and front-back vibrations of elevator was built and tested using the elevator test tower. The experimental results show that the elevator vibrations are reduced by the active control technique.

  • In this paper, we have designed the duplexer using non-radiative dielectric(NRD) guide in millimeter wave band. The designed duplexer is composed of two stepped-impedance filters and T-junction. Stepped-impedance filters we designed with an equivalent circuit model of evanescent waveguide and the T-junction is optimized to minimize return loss of -20 dB or more. The characteristics of duplexer show good agreements with the expected results.

  • We have demonstrated a -8 dB additional reduction in the intensity sidelobe of an apodized-interaction-strength guide-wave acousto-optic filter with a center passband of 1551.6 nm. Acoustic-intensity weighting was achieved by launching a surface acoustic wave (SAW) beam in a straight acoustic waveguide, and gradually transferring this SAW intensity to the active device, and back out, by evanescent-wave coupling across a 50 !lm barrier over a 19 rom interaction length. The intensity sidelobe was -4.27 dB for an unapodized filter with abmpt onset and cutoff of the interaction, but sidelobes were reduced to at most -12.68 dB for a SAW intensity with raised-cosine weighting. The RF driving power was 17.78 mW. A linear tuning rate of 8.86 nmIMHz and a spectral width of -1.7 nm were demonstrated. rated.

  • The independent operation of a color filter for incident polarization is demonstrated using a guided-mode resonance (GMR) filter employing a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide. To achieve independent operation, a rectangular MIM grating is proposed as a wave-guide resonator. The design considerations are discussed and include how to determine the grating period and slit width. Power flow distribution is observed with slit width variation. Blue-green, green-red, and blue-red filters for corresponding x- and y-polarizations are demonstrated as application examples with numerical simulation with rectangle-shaped MIM grating. As a practical application, feasibility as a chromatic polarizer is discussed.

  • In this study, cavity filter performing BPF function in Korea T-DMB system was designed by using of HFSS simulation tool, and we compared measured results with the simulated data. By simulation of HFSS that is magnetic and electric 3D simulating tool, we can save time and money maximumly by checking performances before actual filter implementation. Optimum conditions for the cavity filter were delivered based on the cylindrical waveguide characteristics. Measured results by implementation were compared with the simulation data.

  • The main sensor of AGV is the guide sensor in order to detect the path, and the sensor consists of 8 or 16-magneto resistance devices arranged by with 10mm. In controlling the AGV posture by using the sensor, AGV is occurred left/right shaking frequently. So, for driving stability of AGV, An accuracy of the sensor should be improved. Therefore, this study proposed sensor signal processing method to improve accuracy of guide sensor, and implemented. The accuracy of sensor in experimentation showed 2.84[mm]. In designing the sensor for controlling AGV posture, the proposed method will be effective.

  • With continuous industrial development, the types, and amount of particulate matter (PM) have been increasing. Since 2018, environmental standards regarding PM have become more stringent. Pulse air jet bag filters are suitable for PM under the 20 ㎛ and, can function regardless of size, concentration and type. Filtration velocity and shape are important factors in the operation and design of the pulse air jet bag filters however, few established studies support this theory. In this research, numerical simulations were conducted based on experimental values and, several methods were employed for minimizing the pressure drop. In the pilot system, as the inlet duct velocity was faster than 19 m/sec, flow was not distributed equally and, re-entrainment occurred due to the hopper directional vortex. The multi-inlet system decelerated the hopper directional vortex by 25 ~ 30%, thereby decreasing total pressure drop by 6.6 ~ 14.7%. The guide vane system blocked the hopper directional vortex, which resulted optimal vane angle of 53°. The total pressure of the guide vane system increased by 0.5 ~ 3% at 1.5 m/min conditions. However, the filtration pressure drop decreased by 4.8 ~ 12.3% in all conditions, thereby reducing the operating cost of filter bags.

  • A design methodology of analog circuits for a CMOS stereo 16-bit Δ$\Sigma$ DAC which are suitable for the digital audio applications is described. The limitations of Δ$\Sigma$ DAC exist in the performance of the 1-bit DAC and that of the smoothing filter. The proposed architecture for analog circuits contains the buffer between the digital modulator and the following analog stage and adopts the SCF (switched capacitor filter) and DSC (differential-to-single converter) scheme. In this paper, a guide line for the selection of the filter type for the SCF design in the Δ$\Sigma$ DAC is suggested through the analytical approaches.
