A Focus Group Interview(FGI) on Experience During Clinical Fieldwork of Students in Occupational Therapy (작업치료과 학생들의 임상실습 경험에 대한 포커스그룹 인터뷰)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate about student's experiences in occupational therapy through clinical fieldwork, such as the change in perception of occupational therapy, the stress that students experience, and the satisfaction of clinical fieldwork. We conducted a focus group interview with 10 participants to see what they experienced during the clinical fieldwork. The contents of the interview were recorded and conducted, and the meaning was analyzed according to the focus group interview procedure through repeated listening. Components were psychological experience, professional experience, environmental experience, changes of values, and behavioral changes. In psychological experience, he experienced anxiety and burden. Experiential experience was the connection of theory and clinical experience and realization of major knowledge. In the environmental experience, we experienced clinical guidance management system, and the change of values experienced change of perception of occupational therapy and change of perception of disabled person. Finally, behavioral changes have experienced an active response through clinical practice experience. Clinical fieldwork is a basic element that prepares students to become occupational therapists. It affects the role of occupational therapist and perception performance through various experiences in new environment. It is thought that the efforts of the institution are needed. The results of this study will help occupational therapists to direct clinical fieldwork in the right direction in clinical fieldwork.

  • Previous performance evaluation focusing on objective data of service agency has the limitations that did not reflect user-centered evaluation. With the expansion of voucher service, importance of perspective of service user such as satisfaction index is increasing. As voucher service has been delivered by the financial burden of government and user, we need the performance evaluation system that reflects the both performance indices to meet the accountability of two stake-holders. So this study focuses on deriving integrated evaluation system developing systems what mixed objective and subjective performance. Data used in this study is collected form 70 social service agencies that deliver voucher service and 1445 service users. Using General Satisfaction Index and Efficiency Index by DEA, this study analysed the correlation between efficiency and satisfaction index, and integrated performance evaluation model is constructed through portfolio map. This study has the following implication. This study theoretically explains the relation of objective performance and subjective performance and gives practical guidance in performance evaluation criterion and interpretation of performance.

An Evaluation Technique for the Path-following Control Performance of Autonomous Surface Ships (자율운항선박의 항로추정성능 평가기법 개발에 관한 연구)

  • A series of studies on the development of autonomous surface ships have been promoted in domestic and foreign countries. One of the main technologies for the development of autonomous ships is path-following control, which is closely related to securing the safety of ships at sea. In this regard, the path-following performance of an autonomous ship should be first evaluated at the design stage. The main aim of this study was to develop a visual and quantitative evaluation method for the path-following control performance of an autonomous ship at the design stage. This evaluation technique was developed using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based path-following control model together with a line-of-sight (LOS) guidance algorithm. CFD software was utilized to visualize waves around the ship, performing path-following control for visual evaluation. In addition, a quantitative evaluation was carried out using the difference between the desired and estimated yaw angles, as well as the distance difference between the planned and estimated trajectories. The results demonstrated that the ship experienced large deviations from the planned path near the waypoints while changing its course. It was also found that the fluid phenomena around the ship could be easily identified by visualizing the flow generated by the ship. It is expected that the evaluation method proposed in this study will contribute to the visual and quantitative evaluation of the path-following performance of autonomous ships at the design stage.

Rehabilitation with minimal increase in occlusal vertical dimension in a patient with excessive tooth wear and edge-to-edge bite (과도한 치아 마모와 절단교합을 보이는 환자에서 최소한의 수직 고경 증가를 통한 구강회복 증례)

  • Although tooth wear is a normal process due to aging, severe tooth wear causes various complications such as increased tooth sensitivity, loss of tooth structure, and pulp complications. In the treatment of patients with excessive tooth wear, the evaluation of loss of vertical occlusal dimension should be prioritized. If it is necessary to increase the vertical dimension to secure the restoration space, it is important to establish a treatment plan with the comprehensive analysis and determine the minimum vertical dimension elevation. In this case, 66-year-old male patient with severe worn dentition wanted to restore masticatory function and improve esthetic restoration. In order to determine the appropriate vertical dimension of the patient, we evaluated oral examination, radiographic examination, and diagnostic cast examination, and performed rehabilitation with minimum vertical dimension elevation. As a result of observation for 8 months, the definitive prosthesis was completed with contact of all teeth in centric occlusion, and proper anterior/posterior guidance. Through the above process, satisfactory aesthetic and functional outcomes were obtained.

A Study on the Design Improvement of Street Facilities in Jeollabuk-do Province (전라북도 가로시설물의 디자인 제고를 위한 연구)

  • This study reveals the absence of standard design guidelines by region through investigation and analysis centered on public design cases by region in Jeollabuk-do and design elements that can reflect the integration, identity, and diversity of public design in each region by five regions. Through this, the following conclusions could be obtained. First, to improve the quality of street facilities in Jeollabuk-do, the design elements (design motif, color, pattern) applicable to the standard design were analyzed by dividing them into five regions. As a design motif, it was possible to extract patterns containing straight lines, sophistication, dignity, and smartness. In the Northeast region, it is comfortable with the motif of the mountain ridge reflecting geographical characteristics, and it can be extracted elements that contain warm and natural colors. In the southeastern region, patterns that reflect design elements were extracted by applying safe, lively, and peaceful colors with the design motif of curves that blend nature and agriculture. In the southwestern region, design pattern elements that highlight nature, history, and culture were extracted with various cultural assets and natural greenery as motifs. Lastly, in the Saemangeum region, the ocean flow and greenery could be used as a design motif to reflect a positive, clear, future-oriented image in the design spot zones by region. Second, based on the standard design elements (design motive, color, pattern) by region extracted for the standard design development of street facilities in each region in Jeollabuk-do, an integrated zone(Form, structure, material, color, functional element) to which regional design guidelines can be applied. Third, an integrated zone (form, structure, material, color, functional elements) was composed. In addition, design spot zones (patterns and colors in city and county units) that can contain the diversity and identity of each region were designated. Survey of dysphagia meal management for the elderly and the disabled (전국 요양시설과 장애인시설의 연하장애 환자를 위한 식사 실태조사)

  • A survey was conducted to investigate the conditions of meal management and the use of thickening agents for dysphagia in long-term institutions and welfare centers in Korea. The online questionnaire for the survey comprised six questions on the general characteristics of subjects, 16 on meal management, 10 on dietitians' knowledge, and 30 on dietitians' perceived performance and importance of meal management for dysphagia. The complete data from 268 questionnaires were analyzed, and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was conducted. The results of the survey indicated frequent, "difficulties due to no specific guidance on managing dysphagia meal," "lack of caregiver understanding of the importance of dysphagia meal," "lack of opportunity and time for meal education/counseling," "difficulties with management due to dietitians' lack of experience and awareness of dysphagia," and "limited understanding of cooking staff in preparing dysphagia meal." Importantly, these five parts were categorized in the low-priority region in an IPA of the performance.

An Analysis of Sexuality Education Books for Children and Young Adults (어린이·청소년 대상 성교육 도서의 현황 분석 연구)

  • This study analyzed the 77 most popular sexuality education books for children and young adults published in Korea, based on various criteria, including subject matters, format, implied readers, and author's occupational background. Among the key topics of the International technical guidance on sexuality education developed by UNESCO, the most mentioned was that it is natural to have curiosity on one's own feelings and body and that sex education books can help them learn about them. Respect on one's own body, knowledge of sexual and reproductive organs, eggs and sperms, menstrual cycle, effect of hormones were also easily found topics from the books. The least mentioned topics were HIV/AIDS and Gender-based violence. 63.5% of the analyzed books were books with/without illustrations. Other formats include picture books, comic books, and photo-illustrated books. Publication of books aimed for particular gender started to increase from 2019. Diversity of authors' occupation were also shown starting 2019. Further research on the role of sex education books is crucial to help all children and young adults develop their own sexuality and understand that of other people, and ultimately to live in a harmonious society.

A Study on the Development of Feedback-Based Instructional Materials for Process-Focused Assessment Classes in High School Mathematics Classes (고등학교 수학 수업에서 과정 중심 평가 수업을 위한 피드백 중심 수업 자료 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study is a study that developed class materials that can apply Process-Focused Assessment to classes by paying attention to feedback using teacher learning community programs centered on teachers belonging to the same school in the field. In particular, this study was conducted with the aim of developing class materials applicable to actual classes. At this time, We thought about how to provide appropriate feedback when applying course-based evaluation in school field classes. It was conducted according to the procedure of data development research by Lee & Ahn(2021). As for the procedure of data development itself, an evaluation plan was established by establishing a strategy to reconstruct achievement standards and confirm understanding based on curriculum analysis. Next, an evaluation task, a scoring standard table, and a preliminary feedback preparation table were developed. In addition, based on these development materials, a learning guidance plan that can predict scenes when applying actual classes was developed as a result. This study has value as a practical study that can contribute to providing a link between theory and field schools. It is also meaningful in that it considered how the teacher would grasp when to provide feedback in performing rocess-Focused Assessment. Likewise, in providing feedback by teachers, it is meaningful in that it reflects in the data development how to prepare in advance and take classes according to the characteristics of the subject. Finally, it seems that the possibility of field application can be improved in that the results of the 4th class developed in this study are presented in a form applicable to the class directly in the field.

A Study on the Educational Content of Floral Design on YouTube (유튜브에 나타난 화예 디자인 교육 콘텐츠 연구 -화훼장식기능사 교육 콘텐츠를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and problems of the content of flower design education videos on YouTube and to search for improvement direction. The subjects of analysis were 129 pieces of videos uploaded in the last one year including 'craftman floral design' as a search term. The result shows that contents covered were practical lectures, theory lectures, test related tips, job and character introduction, test work, educational guidance and publicity. The production format could be divided into studio lecture, classroom lecture, video feature, interview, Vlog, and television program. The hub-type programming strategy that periodically uploads the videos satisfying the target audiences' interests is mostly applied. The type of lecture covered 'practical skill test' got a good response from the users. Overall, content diversity, interaction between creators and users, and harmonious programming strategies are lacking. In order to improve this, it is necessary for emotional and expressive creators to pioneer differentiated fields and practice based on actual field. The introduction of interactive elements such as games and quizzes and the application of new media technologies such as VR and AR are worth trying. Three strategic types of 'hero', 'hub', and 'how to' should be applied complementary. As the demand for education content related to flower design is expected to expand in the future, it is required to develop content that can be used in various platforms, foster professional creators, and develop associated business models.

Education program development for early childhood character through Nuri curriculum (누리과정 중심의 그림책 활용 유아인성교육 프로그램 개발)

  • This research analyzes the character factor in picture book, so the purpose is to develop the early childhood character program through Nuri curriculum. Picture book is the most familiar media for childhoods, and we are available it naturally in our lives. For this first, we analyze 6 elements(consideration, respect, cooperation, sharing, order, filial duty) in teacher's guide of the Nuri curriculum. Next, consulting the analyzed factors, the 12 picture books which will be utilized this program are chosen by the standard like literary, artistic, educational value. The chosen picture book devised total 12 times education plan to design each 2 times education plan in the factors for teacher's guide of Nuri curriculum. Lastly, it was finally developed through validation process by 2 teachers and 2 the professors of early childhood education. The developed program is needed later field application and It is required of the effectiveness verification after we apply 12 times activities on each age of childhoods for 3 to 5 years od in education field, so it may improve elements like consideration, respect, cooperaion, sharing, order, filial duty as childhoods experience this program personally. Also, this can provide it to teachers in childhood eucation field as study guidance plan.
