The purpose of this study was to choose prinicipal food components contained in diet foods and food additives used for manufacturing processed foods and elucidate their in vivo effects on the growth pattern of Helicobacter pylori. To do this the antibacterial effects of various sources of carbon nitrogen and mineral as an effect agent on Helicobacter pylori were first assessed based upon bacterial growth degree. results show that the source of carbon tested had different effects on bacterial growth of Helicobacter pylori. It was revealed that a promotional effect of monosaccharides resulted in enhanced growth of Helicobacter pylori compared with disaccharides and polysacchrides, in particular glucose was observed to be most effective in growth of Helicobacter pylori among monosaccharides teste whereas mannose to hinder the growth of Helicobacter pylori. Polyols such as sorbitol mannitol maltitol and xylitol was however observed to show no promotion or suppression effect on growth of Helicobacter pylori. Apart from these the sources of amino acid and inorganic nitrogen were chosen and tested to assess the promotion or suppression effect of nitrogen sources on growth of helicobacter pylori. It was found that amino acid such as lysine showed its promotion effect on the growth of Helicobacter pylori while arginine (NH4)2SO4 and NH4Cl showed no effect on its growth. Ammoia and urea were however observed to have a positive effect on the growth of Helicobacter pylori. Among these effect agents lysine and methionine were revealed to show the most positive effect on growth of Helicobacter pylori. Minerals such as MgSO4 KH2PO4 and MgCl2 appered to exert their positive growth effects whereas CaCl2 and CaSo4 had a little effect. In addition FeSO4 FeCl2 and FeCl3 brought suppression on the growth of helicobacter pylori. In studies of the growth of Helicobacter pylori by food additives ascorbic acid showed extreme suppression on its growth,. Sodium nitrate and sodium chloride were also found to be of negative effect on the growth of Helicobacter pylori in rder of degree whereas tocopherol had nothing to do with microbial growth.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) on hair growth promotion of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP) for the treatment of alopecia. Aqueous solutions of MAP 7.5% with or without MSM 1%, 5% or 10% were prepared and applied onto the depilated back skin of the male mice once a day for 20 days. The degree of hair growth was evaluated by visual scoring using hair growth quantification scale (0-5, 0 being initial state and 5 being complete hair growth). In vitro transdermal penetration and intradermal retention studies of MAP were performed with Franz diffusion cell using hairless mice skin. Hair growth in the group treated with the aqueous solution containing MAP 7.5% and MSM 10% was comparable to or better than the result in the group treated with minoxidil 5% solution. Hair growth promotion of MAP was dose-dependently increased by the presence of MSM used in combination with MAP 7.5% solution. The in vitro transdermal penetration of the MAP was decreased in proportion to the concentration of MSM. However, intradermal retention of MAP was profoundly and dose-proportionally increased as a function of MSM concentration, reaching 802 ${\mu}g/cm^2$ in the presence of MSM 10% (200-fold increase). The effect of MSM on hair growth promotion of MAP was dose-proportional to the concentration of MSM due to the enhanced intradermal retention of MAP in the presence of MSM. Therefore, topical application of MAP together with MSM appears to be useful for the treatment of alopecia.
This paper studies a series of capital market promotion policies Korea pursued over a 30-year period during its development era (1960s - 1980s). The purpose of this paper is twofold. The first purpose is to understand the policy approaches Korea took, and the second is to extract lessons that can benefit policymakers in the developing world, where capital market promotion is an important policy goal. There are two key features of Korea's capital market promotion policies. First, the government was actively involved, sometimes indirectly by giving tax incentives to encourage IPOs. However, in other times, it was directly involved by giving IPO orders and threatening those that did not comply. No stock exchange in a developed country has ever experienced such government involvement. Combined with rapid economic growth, this interventionist approached allowed the Korean stock market to experience phenomenal growth over a short period of time. Second, the capital market promotion policies had multiple objectives. One was to mobilize domestic capital for economic development. Another was to lower firms' debt-to-equity ratios. Most interestingly, however, the Korean government wanted to popularize stock ownership, thereby allowing ordinary Koreans to share in the fruits of economic growth.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to introduce the development process of Korean medicine health promotion program for short stature children that is suitable for applied at public health center. Methods : The draft of health promotion program was developed through literature search of previous similar programs and advice of several experts. A small conference targeted public health Korean medicine doctors was also held to introduce the developed program and discuss for improvements. Results : The details of 12-week of Korean medicine health promotion program for children growth are as follows: 4-week of taking herbal medicines (Yukmijihwang-tang or Yukgunja-tang), contactless counseling with Korean medicine doctor, self-care home kit consisting of Sogeonjung-tang tea leaf, Sogeonjung-tang with Cervi Parvum Cornu extract, ear acupressure stick, finger chuna manual, growth diary, and jump rope. Conclusions : This health promotion program can help to increase the height of children and self-esteem of children with short stature as well as decrease the stress of parents.
We developed an in vitro assay method for evaluating plant growth promotion and providing an evidence that the growth promotion is rendered by growth enhancing factors. The amendment of culture filtrates of Trichoderma harzianum T95 and Gliocladium virens G872 and G872B in Murashige and Skoog (MS) agar medium enhanced the cotyledon growth of cucumber in terms of fresh weight and primary leaf area of cucumber cotyledon cuttings, of which the treatment of G. virens G872B was the most effective. The mycelial culture filtrate of G872B was more effective in the growth promotion than its conidial germling filtrate. The addition of 1% sucrose in MS mineral medium with 0.1% culture filtrates of the antagonists (T95 and G872B) was optimum for enhancing the effect of the filtrates on the growth of cotyledon cuttings in vitro. When cucumber seeds treated with G872B, Pseudomonas putida Pf3 or the G872B-Pf3 mixture were planted in a greenhouse, the rate of seed germination, biomass of shoot and root, and yield of cucumber fruits were increased, especially by G872B or the G872B-Pf3 mixture. Correspondingly, cucumber fruit yields in early to middle-cycles of harvest were significantly greater in the plots of G872B than the control and Pf3-treated plots, and the final yield was highest in the plots of the G872B-Pf3 mixture applications.

The earth is a huge magnet. All organisms live under the magnetism of earth. The magnetism influences the ions in the cells of organisms and variously functions to lives as well. The medical treatment with magnet has come down from the ancient, it has an effect on the plants' growth. But there are no scientific studies about the influences of magnetism on plant growth. Accordingly, the experiment about the influence of magnetism on several foliage plants was carried out in this study. The promotion of plants' growth led by magnetism will be the method to save the management cost of horticultural market by early shipment. As a results of this experiment, plants treated with magnets showed excellent growth especially in length growth. The experiment results of the respective plants are the following. 1. Rhapis flabelliformis : This have grown so very well in the container lined with magnets as time goes by. Showing the significant(p<0.05) differences, the length growth of Height and Length of leaves was especially distinguished. 2. Howea belmoreana : This has grown well in all containers. Showing the significant(p<0.05) differences, the length growth of Height and Length of leaves was especially distinguished. 3. Chamaedorea seifrizii : There have been the growth differences between Height and Length of leaves as time goes by. The growth of Height and Length of leaves in the container lined with magnets has been excellent. The number of leaves and number of branch generally had no big differences but the growth of Height and Length of leaves was excellent in the magnet container. The method of plant growth promotion with magnet should save the management cost for this reason. Therefore the succeeding studies about the plant growth under the influence of magnet intensity and kind must be performed. The studies with various plants are needed to activate the program for growing plants with magnet.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to clarify the traits of differences supposed as secular differences in physical growth between samples of children and youth in 1999 and 2005, and to identify the need of children and youth for health promotion. Methods: Two samples of different cohort were selected. The first one was consisted of 231 boys and 346 girls in 1999. And the other was consisted of 171 boys and 400 girls in 2005. Then the longitudinal growth distance data were collected from their cumulative health examination records. Results: The 2005 were larger in growth distances of stature, body weight, sitting height, and chest girth a at all ages from 6 to 16 in both boys and girls, so it could be concluded that a certain positive shift in growth process appeared in such a short duration. The 2005 were larger in growth velocity before peak age and also after peak age in body weight, but only in the term after peak age significant secular differences were found in stature for both sexes. As far as the growth distance concerned, the 2005 boys were ahead of the 1999 boys from 0.28-1.02 years and the 2005 girls from 0.32 to 0.81 years. In growth distance. Only in peak velocity, significant secular change was recognized in both sexes, any positive evidences of appearance of secular change were not found in peal age. In such derived physical indices as BMI, body weight index, sitting height index, and chest girth index, obvious evidences of secular change appearance were found.

The experiment was carried out to analyze the inhibition effect of plant pathogenic fungi and growth promotion activity induced by the bacterial strains isolated from peatmoss. Among the isolated bacterial strains, B10-2, B10-4, B10-5 and B10-6 which showed more than 30% inhibition rate against Botrytis cinerea and Rhizoctonia solani in vitro, were further analyzed in the greenhouse for the growth promotion activity on lettuce (Lactuca sativa), pak-choi (Brassica compestris L. ssp. chinensis) and Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis). The results showed the treatment of B10-4 on lettuce showed the highest growth promotion activity with the leaf area ($169.17cm^2$), fresh weight (leaf: 40.29 g, root: 8.80 g)and dry weight (leaf: 11.24 g, root: 4.17 g), which was about two folds as compared to control. On pak-choi, the growth promotion rate was the highest with the leaf area of $112.87cm^2$, leaf fresh weight of 60.70 g, root fresh weight of 3.37 g, leaf dry weight of 14.34 g, and root dry weight of 1.90 g. As a result of treatment of B10-13 on chinese cabbage, the growth promotion rate was the highest with the leaf area ($293.56cm^2$), fresh weight (leaf: 113.67 g, root: 2.40 g) and dry weight (leaf: 6.03 g, root: 0.53 g). The production of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Indole-3-Butylic Acid (IBA) were also analyzed in these bacterial isolates. The IAA and IBA analyses were carried out in all bacterial isolates each day within the 5 days of incubation period. The highest production of IAA was observed with $112.57{\mu}g/mg$ protein in B10-4 after 3 days of incubation and IBA production was the highest in B10-2 with $58.71{\mu}g/mg$ protein after 2 days of incubation. Also, phosphate solubilizing activity was expressed significantly in B10-13 in comparison to that of other bacterial isolates. Bacterial identification showed that B10-2 was Bacillaceae bacterium and B10-5 was Bacillus cereus, B10-4 and B10-6 were Bacillus sp. and B-13 was Staphylococcus sp. by ITS sequence.
Six-hundred bacterial strains from human milk and milk from Sahiwal cows, Holstein Friesian cows, and buffaloes were screened for their ability to suppress phytopathogenic fungi under in vitro conditions. A consortium of 3 strains, viz., Bacillus lentimorbus B-30486 (B-30486), B. subtilis B-30487 (B-30487), and B. lentimorbus B-30488 (B-30488), isolated from Sahiwal cow milk resulted in better biological control and plant-growth promotion than single-strain treatments. For commercial-scale production of a bioinoculant, the solid-state fermentation of sugarcane agro-industrial residues, i.e., molasses, press mud, and spent wash, using the consortium of B-30486, B-30487, and B-30488, resulted in a value-added product, useful for enhancing plant growth. The application of the consortium to sugarcane fields infested with Fusarium moniliforme and Colletotrichum falcatum resulted in a reduction of mortality and significantly higher (P=0.05) plant height, number of tillers, and cane girth when compared with the control. Furthermore, under field conditions, the treatment of sugarcane with the consortium resulted in significantly (P=0.05) greater plant growth compared with nonbacterized plants. Accordingly, this is the first report on the effective use of bacteria isolated from milk for biological control and enhancing plant growth under field conditions. Furthormore, a solid-state fermentation technology was developed that facilitates the economic utilization of agro-industrial residues for environmental conservation and improving plant and soil health.

We evaluated a commercial biopreparation of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) strains Bacillus subtilis GB03 and B. amyloliquefaciens IN937a formulated with the carrier chitosan (Bio Yield) for its capacity to elicit growth promotion and induced systemic resistance against infection by Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) and Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 in Arabidopsis thaliana. The biopreparation promoted plant growth of Arabidopsis hormonal mutants, which included auxin, gibberellic acid, ethylene, jasmonate, salicylic acid, and brassinosteroid insensitive lines as well as each wild-type. The biopreparation protected plants against CMV based on disease severity in wild-type plants. However, virus titre was not lower in control plants and those treated with biopreparation, suggesting that the biopreparation induced tolerance rather than resistance against CMV. Interestingly, the biopreparation induced resistance against CMV in NahG plants, as evidenced by both reduced disease severity and virus titer. The biopreparation also elicited induced resistance against P. syringae pv. tomato in the wild-type but not in NahG transgenic plants, which degrade endogenous salicylic acid, indicating the involvement of salicylic acid signaling. Our results indicate that some PGPR strains can elicit plant growth promotion by mechanisms that are different from known hormonal signaling pathways. In addition, the mechanism for elicitation of induced resistance by PGPR may be pathogen-dependent. Collectively, the two-Bacilli strain mixture can be utilized as a biological inoculant for both protection of plant against bacterial and viral pathogens and enhancement of plant growth.
