The ground high/low temperature test objective is to check the normal ground operation of FA-50 aircraft in the extreme ground ambient conditions. The aircraft was exposed in climatic conditions of the basic climatic category according to the MIL-HDBK-310. For verified normal operation in the extreme high temperature, the high temperature test was performed in the hot regional type conditions and accentuated solar radiation heat. This test was performed at the test chamber in ADD where is in Haemi. This paper was described about the test procedure of FA-50 high/low temperature including preparation, testing and results.

In this study we present results for the design of ground test system for 4 degree of freedom(DOF) control test is one of the smart UAV ground test. This system is equipped with real smart UAV and Z direction DOF and 3 direction rotation DOF, Ensuring safe operation of the Smart UAV is a top priority. To this end, it is required to do structure analysis and test verification to confirm the design margin and safety. Based on the analysis, the ground test system has been redesigned to meet the structural conditions.
Recently in Korea, a marine ranching project has continued to grow with the increasing needs of sea development. Management techniques, including settlement reduction and scour protection, have been required for constructing and maintaining the artificial reefs of this marine ranching project. The generation of settlement and scour can be influenced by ground characteristics. In this study, various laboratory tests (penetration test, two-dimensional water tank test) were performed to determine the settlement and scour characteristics of artificial reefs under various ground conditions. Three kinds of ground reinforcement were prepared: unreinforced, geogrid, and hybrid bamboo mat. Penetration test results showed that the normalized settlement ratio of ground reinforced with a hybrid bamboo mat was smaller than those of unreinforced ground and geogrid-reinforced ground. Two-dimensional water tank test results showed that the scour characteristics of ground reinforced with a geogrid were more reduced and stable than unreinforced ground. The amount of scour and ground settlement also decreased with increasing reinforced area.
We compared relative importance of thermal conductivity and initial ground temperature in designing borehole heat exchanger network and also we test accuracy of ground temperature estimation in thermal response test using a proven 3-D T-H modeler. The effect of error in estimating ground temperature on calculated total length of borehole heat exchanger was more than 3 times larger than the case of thermal conductivity in maximum 20% error range. Considering 10% of error in estimating thermal conductivity is generally acceptable, we have to define the initial ground temperature within 5% confidence level. Utilizing the mean annual ground surface temperature and the geothermal gradient map compiled so far can be a economic way of estimating ground temperature with some caution. When performing thermal response test for estimating ground temperature as well as measuring thermal conductivity, minimum 100 minutes of ambient circulation is required, which should be even more in case of very cold and hot seasons.
The design of a ground-source heat pump system includes specifications for a ground loop heat exchanger where the heat transfer rate depends on the thermal conductivity of the ground. To evaluate this heat transfer property, in-situ thermal response tests on four vertical test boreholes with different grouting materials were conducted by adding a monitored amount of heat to water over various test lengths. By measuring the water temperatures entering and exiting the loop, water flow rate, and heat load, effective thermal conductivity values of the ground were determined. The effect of increasing thermal conductivity of grouting materials from 0.82 to 1.05 W/m$^{\circ}C$ resulted in overall increases in effective ground thermal conductivity by 25.8% to 69.5%.

While a high frequency source is used for measuring the ground impedance, there are several factors having an effect on the measured value. A primary factor of the measurement error is the ac mutual coupling between current and potential test leads. The mutual coupling causes the test current to induce a voltage into the potential test lead that adds to the actual ground potential rise and produces a significant measurement error as the length of the test leads paralleled is prolonged. In order to avoid the mutual coupling, it is recommended that the ground impedance be measured by angled arrangement of test leads. The mutual impedance due to the inductive coupling with an angle of $90^{\circ}$ was calculated at $0^{\circ}$ by Campbell/Foster Method. With an angle of $180^{\circ}$, the mutual impedance was calculated large value enough to introduce a fairly large margin of error, however, the measured value of ground impedance was close to the value at $90^{\circ}$.
In this study, the function of TIS-B(Traffic Information Service-Broadcasting), Runway incursion prevention, conflict warning, way-point assignment were evaluated using ground-to-ground surveillance test bed of KARI which was based on ADS-B(Automatic Dependant Surveillance-Broadcasting) concept. VDL(VHF Data Link) based on STDMA protocol was used as a data link, and an UAT(Universal Access Transceiver) was included to get the TIS-B information, and four ground vehicles and two aircraft were included as rover units. The main purpose of this test bed was to realize the ADS-B concept for the application of ground surveillance and to evaluate its performance.
SCP(Sand Compaction Pile) method that forms a composite ground by driving compacted sand piles into the soft ground. This method is one of the soil improvement techniques for reinforcing and strengthening soft ground deposits. This thesis describes the investigation on the behavior of soft ground reinforced with SCP by low improvement ratio. Direct shear test and consolidation test carried out to verified behavior of composite ground reinforced with SCP. Test results were discussed with reference to the amount of consolidation settlement, variation of shear resistance with area replacement ratio and effect of the stress concentration. And, laboratory model loading test carried out to verified the effect of the location and failure mode of reinforced embankment. Residual shear strength varies with the area replacement and constrict load in the low replacement ratio. Calculated stress concentration ratio overestimate than proposed valve by experimental, theoretical and analytical method. As regards the location, improving right below of the top of the slope was more effective than below of the toe of the slope. This thesis carried out to obtain fundamental information of behavior of the composit ground. Hereafter, centrifuge test that reproduce stress state of the in-situ must be necessary through the further study about pile penetration, reinforce position and construct time.
The tilt-rotor Smart UAV(Unmanned Air Vehicle) has been developed by KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) for civil purposes. In order to prove the reliabilities of total system of Smart UAV, the series of ground tests were performed including system interface test, aircraft HILS(Hardware In the Loop Simulation) Test, ground power test, 4-DOF (Degrees of Freedom)rig test, and tethered hover test. Many unexpected problems occurred at each ground test. With clearing these problems, the total Smart UAV systems were matured and the airworthiness was proven enough. After complete of additional ground test proposed by FRRB(Flight Readiness Review Board), the first flight test will be performed in this year. This paper presents the procedures and the analysis results of the ground tests for the tilt-rotor Smart UAV.
This paper is a study on the improvement effects by quick lime pile through theoretical analysis and in-situ construction test. Effects of strength increase is studied to verify the improvement effects of soft ground arounding quick lime pile. First, engineering characteristics of quick lime and ground was studied, in the second place, laboratory test(consolidation test, triaxial compression test) and in-situ test(portable cone penetration test, vane test) were peformed for verification of strength increase of adjacent ground. Finally, the results of in-situ test were compared with those of theorecal study. From in-situ test results, strength at 28th curing days(6.11-6.55t/㎡) was twice as great as strength before improvement(3.06t/㎡) and was slightly greater than theoretical value(4.95t/㎡).
