  • The motors faults including mechanical rotor imbalances, broken rotor bar, bearing failure and eccentricities problems are reflected in electric, electromagnetic and mechanical quantities. This paper presents a study and the practical implementation of an induction motor for reactor containment fan cooler in nuclear power plant with Electric Signature Analysis(ESA). The results obtained present a good degree of reliability hence; the ESA predictive maintenance tools enable a pro-active evaluation of induction motors performance prior to failure.

  • This paper presents load torque observer that is used to deadbeat load torque observer in the induction motor position control system. The simulation has been obtained by simulink. A digital control is composed by trigger method in the continuous block diagram. The results show that proposed system has good effectiveness for the disturbance in induction servo motor system.

  • The paper presents a method for controlling induction motors using a nonlinear internal model control (IMC) approach. The process model and the inverse model are developed in the rotor flux coordinate. The main advantage of the proposed method is that it easily specifies the performance (steady state error, transient response, etc.) and the robustness of the controller by means of the IMC filters. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Results on a real time system show that the control system has good performance and robustness against changes in motor parameters (rotor and stator resistances, rotor and stator inductances, rotor inertia).

  • The Induction motor Vector Control with PI controller has been widely used in industrial application. But PI control difficult in dealing with dynamic speed control, parameter variations, and load disturbances. Therefore, in this paper propose speed control of a induction motor using the PI controller with fuzzy controller. The proposed fuzzy PI controller increases the control performance of the PI controller. Simulation results show that fuzzy PI controller has a good robustness regarding the improper tuned PI controller.

  • Induction surface hardening is widely used to enhance local strength and hardness. However, most research is only to have a focus on fatigue life and fatigue behavior is not so much studied. So, in this study, Cr-Mo steel alloy(SCM440) was used to show the effect of residual stress and micro hole on the fatigue strength fur base metal and induction surface hardened specimen. In addition, the fatigue characteristic between surface hardened and fully hardened steel is somewhat different. It is caused by hardness distribution, residual stress and inclusions etc.. The modification of prediction equation of fatigue strength is proposed and predicted results show very good accuracy. A $textsc{k}$, which is calculated 1.46, is introduced to consider the effect of stationary crack with defect. A new method of modifying residual stress is proposed to examine the mean stress effect under fatigue loading.

  • This paper presents a implementation of digital motion control system for induction motor vector drives using the 16bit DSP TMS320F240. The DSP controller enable enhanced real time algorithm and cost-effective design of intelligent controllers for induction motors which can be yield enhanced operation, fewer system components, lower system cost, increased efficiency and high performance. The system presented are speed and current sensing, sine look-up table and generated SVPWM by fully integrated control software. The developed system in a implementation are shown a good speed response characteristic results and high performance features. The system can be adapted variform motor drive system.

An Efficient On-line Identification Approach to Rotor Resistance of Induction Motors Without Rotational Transducers

  • In this paper, we propose an effective on-line identification method for rotor resistance, which is useful in making speed control of induction motors without rotational transducers robust with respect to the variation in rotor resistance. Our identification method for rotor resistance is based on the linearly perturbed equations of the closed-loop system for sensorless speed control about th operating point. Our identification method for rotor resistance uses only the information of stator currents and voltages. In can provide fairly good identification accuracy regardless of load conditions. Some experimental results are presented to demonstrate the practical use of our identification method. For our experimental work, we have built a sensorless control system, in which all algorithms are implemented on a DSP. Our experimental results confirm that our on-line identification method allows for high precision speed control of commercially available induction motors without rotational transducers.

  • The application of a sliding mode control for improving the dynamic response of an induction motor based speed control system is presented in this paper and provides attractive features, such as fast response, good transient performance, and insensitivity to variations in plant parameters and external disturbance. However, chattering is a difficult problem for which the sliding mode control is a popular solution. This paper presents a new fuzzy-sliding mode controller for a sensorless vector-controlled induction motor servo system to practically eliminate the chattering problem for traction applications. A DSP based implementation of the speed control system is employed. Experimental results are presented using a propulsion system simulator. The performance of the drive is shown to be practically free from chattering.

  • This paper presents an implementation of digital position control system for an induction motor vector drives by a direct torque control(DTC) using the 16bit DSP TMS320 F240. The system presented are stator flux and torque observer using current model that inputs are current sensing of motor terminal and rotor angle for a low speed operating area, two hysteresis controller, optimal switching look-up table, and IGBT voltage source inverter by fully integrated control software. The developed control system are shown a good motion control response characteristic results and high performance features using 2.2Kw general purposed induction motor.

  • The joint method and characteristics of lubricant Impregnated MC nylon and metal are analyzed. Considering the productivity and economics, two materials are Joined with the process of turning, knurling, and induction heating. The Joint strength is determined by adhesion of the melted nylon, the size of knurl, and the interference from the difference of the diameters. The parameters affecting induction heating process are analyzed. The adhesion strength of the melted nylon is measured. Finally the joint strength is analyzed in the environments of low, room, and high temperature. The nylon/metal Joined material is expected to be widely used as the sliding machine elements with good friction and shear strength.
