  • In order to learn in dynamic environments, reinforcement learning algorithms like Q-learning, TD(0)-learning, TD(λ)-learning have been proposed. however, most of them have a drawback of very slow learning because the reinforcement value is given when they reach their goal state. In this thesis, we have proposed a reinforcement learning method that can approximate fast to the goal state in maze environments. The proposed reinforcement learning method is separated into global learning and local learning, and then it executes learning. Global learning is a learning that uses the replacing eligibility trace method to search the goal state. In local learning, it propagates the goal state value that has been searched through global learning to neighboring sates, and then searches goal state in neighboring states. we can show through experiments that the reinforcement learning method proposed in this thesis can find out an optimal solution faster than other reinforcement learning methods like Q-learning, TD(o)learning and TD(λ)-learning.

  • What is Buddhism for? Is the enlightenment the only valid goal of the Buddhist practice? In answering to such questions, this article attempts to challenge the traditional Buddhist notion on the enlightenment, which has been believed to be the utmost and unquestionable, the final goal of Buddhist practice. This article argues that the enlightenment as the final goal of Buddhist practice resulted from religious atmosphere of the ancient India, where the society was bifurcated with the lay and monks. Moreover, nirvana, the final enlightenment with no-more-rebirth, was not the goal of all the Buddhists, but the goal of a few, religious elites. In modern society, where the role of lay people becomes more and more important the Buddhist goal for the enlightenment needs to be reevaluated and to change, from the enlightenment to happiness.

  • The purpose of current research is to develop insight regarding the relationship between trust in leader and followers' goal orientation. In this study relationships among trust in leader, self-efficacy, and goal orientation are explored. Hypotheses about how the trust in leader affect self-efficacy and goal orientation are developed. The sample consists of 389 workers in a firm who are chosen through the judgement sampling method. Findings are reported from the empirical research that partially support the hypothesized relationships among trust in leader, self-efficacy, and goal orientation. Trust in leader have a significant impact on goal orientation, and it is moderated by self-efficacy. The results suggest that leaders need to make an effort for trust building to have positive goal orientations. The findings of this study have theoretical and managerial implications for leadership, trust, and goal orientation research.

  • It is necessary to evaluate performances hitherto carried out in the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) and to set up direction so that this system can be improved continuously in the future. This study was investigated load allocation achievement ratio, water quality goal achievement ratio and interrelation between water quality goal and load allocation for the first period (2004~2010). Load allocation achievement and BOD water quality goal achievement ratio were 50% and 73% in Guem River Basin, respectively. The main reason for excess of load allocation and shortfall of water quality goal were unfulfilled reduction plan and pollution sources increment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop enhanced pollution sources prediction method and make a list realizable reduction plan. 63% of the unit watershed was not interrelation between water quality goal and load allocation. The reason why water quality goal and load allocation had not correlation were water quality of upper unit watershed, increment of inflow quantity, effluent water quality of wastewater treatment plant affected the unit watershed, increment of inner productivity by algae, water quality deterioration during the specific period, river management flow, etc.

  • Purpose: The study sought to determine whether goal achievement, performance, satisfaction, activities of daily living, and gross motor function in children with spastic cerebral palsy are positive affected by goal-oriented functional task training. Methods: In a single case study, two 7-year-old girls diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy were given functional task training based on individualized goals for 24 60-minute sessions over a period of 6 months. The individualized goals reflected the needs of both children and parents. The Canadian occupational performance measure (COPM) and the goal attainment scale (GAS) were used to measure goal performance and satisfaction before and after intervention. Independence of activities of daily living before and after intervention were assessed using the functional independence measure for children (Wee-FIM). And change of gross motor function were assessed using gross motor function measure (GMFM). Results: Clinically significant changes were observed in COPM and GAS, as well as positive changes in independence of gross motor function and activities of daily living. Conclusion: The findings indicate that goal-oriented functional task training addresses the needs of children with spastic cerebral palsy, which increases treatment satisfaction and has a positive effect on independent activities and participation in daily life.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in perceptions of the categories of environmental education and environmental education professionalism of teachers participating in a in-service teacher training programs for environmental education. For this study, surveys and interviews were conducted before and after participation of 20 elementary and secondary school teachers who had participated in 'in-service teacher training program for professional development in environmental education' in August of 2005. Before participation, most of teachers answered that 'Education for Environment' was essential factor among the categories for environmental education. After participation, 15 teachers retained their perception but 5 teachers had changed to 'Education about Environment' or 'Education for Environment'. Environmental professionalism was conducted in '5 ability categories of environment teachers' of Hungerford et al.(1994). Categories has goal domains such as 'Goal domain I (level of basic)', 'Goal domain II (level of conceptual perceptions)', 'Goal domain III (level of investigating and evaluation)', 'Goal domain IV(level of environmental action skill)', 'Goal domain V(level of educational apply)'. Before participation, teachers had a low level of professionalism in environmental areas, but after participation environmental education professionalism improved significantly into the all 'Goal domains'.

  • This study investigated causal relationships between goal orientation, sales and performance towards increasing the effectiveness of up-selling in internal promotion methods in family restaurants and provided implications about the hiring and training of sales people. The subjects were 232 sales people in family restaurants. The data were collected by self-administered questionnaires and analyzed by exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, comparative analysis of the average, and regression analysis. Results, showed that variations in goal orientation, sales, and performance depended on the age and experience of salespeople and that goal orientation makes adaptive selling more effective. It turned out that effort selling affects up-selling result than adaptive selling. Long-term workers were better than short-term workers in goal orientation, selling, and up-selling results, so human resource management needs to implement a long-term plan to enhance these effects. And, because effort selling is more effective than adaptive selling in up-selling results in family restaurants, effort selling requires training.

  • Employees of sales departments of apparel makers play an important role in the success of a fashion-related business because they provide service through the direct contact with customers. This research tests several hypothesized relationships between internal marketing and its determinants, such as job satisfaction and organizational and job commitment, along with sales goal orientation. The subjects in this study were salespeople who worked at fashion stores in Yeosu and Sunchon. To measure the hypotheses, 200 questionnaires were handed out and 185 were collected. Finally, 163 questionnaires were used for the analysis, as 22 were found to be invalid. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression techniques were used after coding and cleaning the data with the software SPSS 18.0. It was found that job satisfaction in the subjects is affected by organizational and job commitment and by their sales goal orientation. Second, it was found that both organizational and job commitment have a significant impact on sales goal orientation. According the results of this study, the higher the salesperson's job satisfaction, the higher the organizational and job commitment are. This was also true for their sales goal orientation. Moreover, higher organizational and job commitment was correlated with a stronger sales goal orientation. On the basis of the results, marketing strategies related to personal management can be established.

  • The issue of this research is to verify the influence of effort that university students putting and employment goal setting regarding employment preparation behavior. And which behavior affects to the employment goal achievement. This research could surely find that it is positive to employment goal setting. But employment goal setting is not enough to get a actual job. So we should manage job counseling program, and methodical subjects which is directly connected to employment. And also we have to enlarge the opportunity to experience actual job to help graduate students to get a job.
