MPEG-7 시각 정보 기술자의 인덱싱 및 결합 알고리즘 (Algorithms for Indexing and Integrating MPEG-7 Visual Descriptors)

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 시각 정보 기술자인 Dominant Color와 Contour Shape 기술자에 대한 새로운 인덱싱 알고리즘을 제안한다. Dominant Color 기술자에서 사용되는 비교 연산 식은 가우스 혼합 모델에 기초하고 있기 때문에 기술자의 각 속성들을 하나의 칼라 히스토그램 형태로 변형시켜서 인덱스로 사용한다. Contour Shape 기술자는 두 단계 형태의 알고리즘을 사용하는데, 첫 번째 단계에서는 글로벌 변수인 Eccentricity와 Circularity를 사용한 대략적인 비교를 통해서 비슷하지 않은 이미지 오브젝트를 배제시키고 두 번째 단계에서 남겨진 오브젝트들과 질의 오브젝트들간의 Peak 변수를 사용한 비교 연산을 통해 인덱싱을 수행한다. 또한 본 논문은 효율적인 멀티미디어 데이타 검색을 위해서 두 가지의 MPEG-7 시각 정보 기술자 결합 알고리즘을 제안한다. 첫 번째 결합 알고리즘은 가중치를 확률로 변환해서 반영하는 것이고 두 번째는 가중치를 각 비교 연산 결과값의 중요도로 간주하는 방법이다. 실험을 통해서 결과를 분석해 보면 근사화를 통한 인덱스 생성으로 100%의 정확도를 유지 할 수는 없지만 논문에서 제안된 각 기술자의 인덱싱 알고리즘과 기술자들의 결합 알고리즘은 기본 검색 알고리즘과 비교했을 때 매우 빠른 속도 향상을 보여주었다. 본 논문에서 제안된 알고리즘은 MPEG-7을 사용하는 검색 시스템의 데이타베이스 구축에 효율적으로 사용될 수 있다.

The Impact of Cultural Similarity on the International Distribution Management

  • Purpose - This research approaches to the new niche market of medical tourism to investigate how factors of cultural similarity influence the international distribution management. This study also estimates the interaction effects of distribution channel on the relationships of facility attributes and customers' destination choice behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected the sample of 881 potential customers from the more economically developed regions in China. Regression analysis is used to confirm the relationships in the research model. Results - The result shows that cultural similarity plays an important moderating role in the relationships of facility attributes and destination choice intention. For instance, power distance and masculinity interact with the distribution facility characteristics of medical quality and reputation to influence customers' selection of the destination country. Individualism, powder distance, and masculinity play moderating roles when social environment affects destination choice intention. Especially, all the elements of cultural similarity moderate the relationships between travel cost and destination choice intention. This research also proves that depending on distribution channel, determinants of distribution facility are the critical predictors of intention to select the medical service outside of China. Conclusions - The study enables managers to develop the more effective strategies reflecting the interaction effects of cultural similarity and distribution channel on customers' decision-making process.

재구성된 광간섭단층 영상의 구조적 유사성을 이용한 수치 목표 평가 (Numerical Objective Assessment Using Structural Similarity for Diffuse Optical Reconstructed Images)

  • 본 연구의 목표는 확산 광학 단층 촬영에 대한 기준 영상을 사용하여 동질성과 이질성을 분리하기 위한 재구성된 영상들간의 수치적 평가를 위해 구조적 유사성 지수에 기초한 알고리즘을 개발한다. 글로벌 지오메트리 및 관심 영역 평가는 유사성을 산출하기 위해 측정되었으며, 그 결과 구조적 유사성 지수의 평균이 모델 내부에 가시적 포함 여부를 판단할 수 있는 잠재적 성능을 나타낸다는 것을 알 수 있으며, 구조적 유사성 지수는 유방 구조 정보를 평가하기 위한 이미지 평가를 지원 가능한 것으로 확인 되었다.

A Study on Word Vector Models for Representing Korean Semantic Information

  • This paper examines whether the Global Vector model is applicable to Korean data as a universal learning algorithm. The main purpose of this study is to compare the global vector model (GloVe) with the word2vec models such as a continuous bag-of-words (CBOW) model and a skip-gram (SG) model. For this purpose, we conducted an experiment by employing an evaluation corpus consisting of 70 target words and 819 pairs of Korean words for word similarities and analogies, respectively. Results of the word similarity task indicated that the Pearson correlation coefficients of 0.3133 as compared with the human judgement in GloVe, 0.2637 in CBOW and 0.2177 in SG. The word analogy task showed that the overall accuracy rate of 67% in semantic and syntactic relations was obtained in GloVe, 66% in CBOW and 57% in SG.

Spatial Histograms for Region-Based Tracking

  • Spatiograms are histograms augmented with spatial means and covariances to capture a richer description of the target. We present a particle filtering framework for region-based tracking using spatiograms. Unlike mean shift, the framework allows for non-differentiable similarity measures to compare two spatiograms; we present one such similarity measure, a combination of a recent weighting scheme and histogram intersection. Experimental results show improved performance with the new measure as well as the importance of global spatial information for tracking. The performance of spatiograms is compared with color histograms and several texture histogram methods.

A Method of Tracking Object using Particle Filter and Adaptive Observation Model

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method that is tracking an object in real time using particle filter and adaptive observation model. When tracking object, it happens object shape variation by camera or object movement in variety environments. The traditional method has an error of tracking from these variation, because it has fixed observation model about the selected object by the user in the initial frame. In order to overcome these problems, we propose a method that updates the observation model by calculating the similarity between the used observation model and the eight-way of edge model from the current position. If the similarity is higher than the threshold value, tracking the object using updated observation model to reset observation model. On the contrary to this, the algorithm which consists of a process is to maintain the used observation model. Finally, this paper demonstrates the performance of the stable tracking through comparison with the traditional method by using a number of experimental data.

내용기반 이미지 검색을 위한 MPEG-7 우위컬러 기술자의 효과적인 유사도 (An Effective Similarity Measure for Content-Based Image Retrieval using MPEG-7 Dominant Color Descriptor)

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 DCD를 이용하여 내용기반 이미지 검색을 할 때 적합한 유사도 측정 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 이미지에서 추출한 도미넌트 컬러의 비율에 따라 유사도를 측정할 수 있도록 하였다. 실험결과 제안한 방법은 MPEG-7 DCD의 QHDM[1]에 의한 검색결과보다 전역 DCD를 사용할 경우 ANMRR이 18.9%의 성능향상을 보였으며 블록별 DCD를 사용할 경우 47.2%라는 높은 성능향상을 보였다. 이는 제안한 방법이 DCD를 이용하여 내용기반 이미지 검색을 할 때 효과적인 유사도 측정 방법임을 보여준다. 특히, 영역 기반의 이미지 검색 방법에 유용하게 적용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

직물과 가상소재의 화상 유사성 분석 연구 - 수직기 및 텍스타일 CAD시스템 활용 - (Analysis of Image Similarity Index of Woven Fabrics and Virtual Fabrics - Application of Textile Design CAD System and Shuttle Loom -)

  • Current global textiles and fashion industries have gradually shifted focus to high value-added, high sensibility, and multi-functional products based on new human-friendliness and sustainable growth technologies. Textile design CAD systems have been developed in conjunction with computer hardware and software sector advances. This study compares the patterns or images of actual woven fabrics and virtual fabrics prepared with a textile design CAD system. In this study, several weave structures (such as fancy yarn weave and patterns) were prepared with a shuttle loom. The woven textile images were taken using a CCD camera. The same weave structure data and yarn data were fed into a textile design CAD system in order to simulate fabric images as similarly as possible. Similarity Index analysis methods allowed for an analysis of the index between the actual fabric specimen and the simulated image of the corresponding fabric. The results showed that repeated small pattern weaves provide superior similarity index values than those of a fancy yarn weave that indicate some irregularities due to fancy yarn attributes. A Complex Wavelet Structural Similarity(CW-SSIM) index resulted in a better index than other methods such as Multi-Scale(MS) SSIM, and Feature Similarity(FS) SSIM, across fabric specimen images. A correlation analysis of the similarity index based on an image analysis and a similarity evaluation by panel members was also implemented.

웨이브렛과 인테그라-노말라이저를 이용한 메트릭 (Metric Defined by Wavelets and Integra-Normalizer)

  • In general, the Least Square Error method is used for signal classification to measure distance in the $l^2$ metric or the $L^2$ metric space. A defect of the Least Square Error method is that it does not classify properly some waveforms, which is due to the property of the Least Square Error method: the global analysis. This paper proposes a new linear operator, the Integra-Normalizer, that removes the problem. The Integra-Normalizer possesses excellent property that measures the degree of relative similarity between signals by expanding the functional space with removing the restriction on the functional space inherited by the Least Square Error method. The Integra-Normalizer shows superiority to the Least Square Error method in measuring the relative similarity among one dimensional waveforms.

Use of similarity indexes to identify spatial correlations of sodium void reactivity coefficients

  • The safety level of Sodium Fast Reactors is directly related with the sodium void reactivity. A low-void effect design has been proposed within the Horizon2020 ESFR-SMART project thanks to the introduction of a sodium plenum above the active core. In order to assess the impact of this core conception on transient analysis, a map with the spatial distribution of sodium void worth can be computed and fed into a point-kinetics-based transient code. Due to the spatial correlations between neighboring zones, the global effect of voiding two different axial or radial regions is not necessarily the sum of both individual contributions. Neglecting those correlations in the void worth map and consequently in the transient analysis may lead to an unrealistic prediction of the transient sequences. In this work, a method based on sensitivity analysis and similarity assessment is proposed for predicting those correlations. The method proved to be able to establish correlations between axial slices of a sub-assembly and was checked against realistic sodium void propagation patterns.
