치관보철용 $CaO-MgO-SiO_{2}-P_{2}O_{5}-TiO_2$계 글라스 세라믹의 결정화와 기계적 물성에 미치는 열처리 조건의 영향 (Effects of Heat-treatment on Crystallization and Mechanical Properties of Glass ceramics for Dental crown prosthesis in the system $CaO-MgO-SiO_{2}-P_{2}O_{5}-TiO_2$)

  • Glass ceramics for dental crown prosthesis were prepared by crystallization of CaO-MgO-SiO2-P2O5-TiO2 glasses. Their crystallization behaviors have been investigated as a function of heattreatment temperature and holding time in relation to mechanical properties. The results are as follows: Vickers hardness and bending strength of glass ceramics increased due to the precipitation of apatite, whitlockite, $\beta$-wollastonite, magnesium titanate, and diopside crystal phases within glass matrix. The final crystalline phase assemblages and the microstructures of the glass ceramics were found to be dependent on heat-treatment temperature and holding time. Vickers hardnes and bending strength of glass ceramics increased with increasing heat-treatment temperature and holding time.

유리-유리 기판의 진공-정전 열 접합 특성 (Vacuum-Electrostatic Bonding Properties of Glass-to-Glass Substrates)

  • 유리 프릿과 유리 튜브를 사용하지 않고 FED, VFD와 PDP를 봉입할 수 있는 기반 기술로서, 진공 내에서 두 장의 sodalite유리 기판들을 정전 열 접합하는 공정을 연구하였으며, 대기 중에서 정전 열 접합한 기판 쌍들과 비교하여 접합 특성을 비교.분석하였다. 진공 분위기 내에서 비정질 실리콘 interlayer를 이용하여 접합된 유리 기판 쌍의 경우, 대기압의 경우와 비교할 때 동일한 접합 온도와 전압에서 접합 강도가 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 측정되었으며, 산소 분위기의 경우 접합 강도가 증가하였음을 확인하였다. XPS와 SIMS를 통한 비정질 실리콘 표면 및 유리기판 표면의 조성 변화 분석으로부터, 진공내에서 산소가 부족함으로써 정전 열 접합 과정에서 부가적으로 수반되는 실리콘 산화막이 불완전하게 형성된 것으로 해석 할 수 있다.

  • Li$_2$O-P$_2$O$_{5}$-Bi$_2$O$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$ glass containing glass former, P$_2$O$_{5}$ and Bi$_2$O$_3$ was prepard by melting the glass batch in pt. erucible followed by quenching on the copper plate. We found that Li$_2$O-P$_2$O$_{5}$-Bi$_2$O$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$ g1ass-ceramics obtained from the crystallization of glass showed significantly higher capacity and longer cycle life tham LiV$_3$O$_{8}$ made from powder synthesis. In this paper, we described crystallization process and LiV$_3$O$_{8}$ crystal growth in glass matrix by increasing temperature. The electrochemical properties were strongly affected by LiV$_3$O$_{8}$ crystal growth in matrix.rowth in matrix.

  • LTCC 소재는 glass/ceramic composite로 구성된다. LTCC 소재에 embedding 되는 고유전율 소재 또한 이와 같은 소재설계를 통하여 무수축 접합이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 이에 대한 연구결과가 보고된바 없고 몇몇 $Al_2O_3$의 infiltration에 대한 무수축 소성 관련 선행 연구를 바탕으로 고유전율 소재인 $BaTiO_3$의 무수축 소성이 연구되는 것이 필요한 시점이다. 따라서 본 연구는 저온에서의 glass infiltration에 의한 무수축 $BaTiO_3$ layer의 저온소성특성 및 유전특성을 평가하였다. 실험결과 $785^{\circ}C$에서 glass의 충분한 침투가 확인되며 결정구조에서는 glass/$BaTiO_3$ composite이 형성되었다. 무수축 접합 layer의 소성조건과 glass 두께 변화에 따른 유전특성 및 layer의 결정구조를 비교평가 하였다.

  • Influence of $Nd_2O_3$ addition to $ZnO-B_2O_3$-based glass on the water leaching resistance of the glass was first investigated. The optimized $Nd_2O_3-ZnO-B_2O_3$ (NZB) glass was ball milled for varying time, mixing with followed by $Al_2O_3$ crystalline phase to form $Al_2O_3$-NZB glass composites at $875^{\circ}C$ for 1h. Microwave dielectric properties of the composites were investigated as a function of the ball milling time of the NZB glass. Dielectric constant and quality factor were 5.70 and 9497 GHz, respectively, when the NZB glass was ball milled for 6h prior to mixing with $Al_2O_3$.

Mechanical and durability properties of concrete incorporating glass and plastic waste

  • The main objective of this work is to contribute to the valorization of plastic and glass waste in the improvement of concrete properties. Waste glass after grinding was used as a partial replacement of the cement with a percentage of 15%. The plastic waste was cut and introduced as fibers with 1% by the total volume of the mixture. Mechanical and durability tests were conducted for various mixtures of concrete as compressive and flexural strengths, water absorption, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and acid attack. Also, other in-depth analyses were performed on samples of each variant such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (DSC-TGA), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that the addition of glass powder or plastic fibers or a combination of both in concrete improved in the compression and flexural strengths in the long term. The highest compressive strength was obtained in the mix which combines the two wastes about 26.72% of increase compared to the control concrete. The flexural strength increased in the mixture containing the glass powder. Therefore, the mixture with two wastes exhibits better resistance to aggressive sulfuric acid attack, and incorporating glass powder improves the ultrasonic pulse velocity.

Lead-Borosilicate Glass계 LTCC용 유전체에 대한 고찰 (Investigation on Lead-Borosilicate Glass Based Dielectrics for LTCC)

  • The effects of lead-borosilicate glass frits on the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of ceramic-glass composites were investigated as functions of glass composition of glass addition ($10{\sim}50vol%$), softening point (Ts) of the glass, and sintering temperature of the composites ($500{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h). The addition of 50 vol% glass ensured successful sintering below $900^{\circ}C$. Sintering characteristics of the composites were well described in terms of Ts. PbO addition in to the glass enhanced the reaction with $Al_{2}O_3$ to form liquid phase and $PbAl_{2}Si_{2}O_8$, which was responsible to lower Ts. Dielectric constant(${\epsilon}_r$), $Q{\times}f_0$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (${\tau}_f$) of the composite with 50 vol% glass contents ($B_{2}O_{3}:PbO:SiO_{2}:CaO:Al_{2}O_3$ = 5:40:45:5:5) demonstrated 8.5, 6,000 GHz, $-70\;ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively, which is applicable to substrate requiring a low dielectric constant. When the same glass composition was applied sinter $MgTiO_3\;and\;TiO_2,\;at\;900^{\circ}C$ (50 vol% glass in total), the properties were 23.8, 4,000 GHz, $-65ppm/^{\circ}C$ and 31.1, 2,500 GHz, $+80ppm/^{\circ}C$ respectively, which is applicable to filter requiring an intermidiate dielectric constant.

마이크로 캡슐화된 Glass bead 충전 HDPE 복합재의 제조와 물리적 성질 (Physical Properties and Preparation of HDPE Filled with Microencapsulated Glass Beads)

  • 입자무기물 충전 복합재료에 있어서 계면의 친화성과 충전재의 분산성을 향상시키기 위하여 고분자 수지로 마이크로캡슬화된 glass beads를 제조하였다. Glass beads의 마이크로 캡슐화에는 상분리법을 이용하였으며, 벽막수지로는 EMAA와 EAA를 사용하였다. 캡슐화 형성상태를 분석하기 위하여 열분석과 SEM을 이용하였다. HDPE에 캡슐화 glass beads를 10~30중량 퍼센트까지 충전시켜 HDPE/마이크로캡슐화 glass beads 복합재를 제조하고 벽막수지종류와 캡슐화 비율에 따른 인장강도, 인장탄성율 및 동역학적 성질의 변화를 측정하였다. 인장강도의 경우 캡슐화 glass beads로 충전시킨 경우 복합재의 인장강도저하가 현저하게 둔화되었으며, 인장탄성율의 경우 캡슐화 glass beads로 충전시킨 경우 30~40% 정도의 향상된 값을 나타내었다. 동역학적 물성측정에 있어서는 계면접착력과 분산성의 향상을 볼 수 있었다. 그러나 벽막수지의 종류에 따른 복합재의 물성 차이는 크지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

Chemical and Microstructural Changes at Interfaces between $ZrO_2.SiO_2$ Glass Fibers Prepared by Sol-Gel Method and Cement Matrices

  • Mechanical and chemical tests were performed on $Zro_2 \cdot SiO_2$ glass fibers manufactured by the sol-gel method and E-glass fibers-reinforced cement composites in order to investigate the interactions between glass fibers and cement matrices. Chemical attack leads to corrosion of the glass fiber surfaces. In the corrosion reactions, the surface of $30ZrO_2 \cdot 70 SiO_2$ glass fibers developed a densified concentric layer, which consists of glass corrosion products with much higher Zr and lower Si than the fresh glass fiber. The layer of reaction product is regarded to stiffen the cement matrices and provide a useful improvement to the mechanical properties. The addition of $ZrO_2$ content increases the corrosion resistance of glass fibers in cement by forming a passivating layer on the surface of glass fibers.

  • Glass micro molding process is the most suitable process for fabricating high precision glass microlens amy at low cost. A new glass micro molding process was proposed. Tungsten carbide mold was fabricated by imprinting and sintering process to overcome the difficulties of the conventional process. In the glass micro molding process, process conditions such as processing temperature and compression force were changed. Geometrical properties of the replicated glass microlens array were measured and compared at variety process conditions. The condition of glass micro molding process was optimized. The experimental result showed that developed process was effective to produce a glass microlens array.
