  • In this paper, NCTOP is an interactive NC auto programming system for two-dimensional machining. NCTOP consists of seven modules, that is pattern form input, free form input, AutoCAD interface, logic processing, postprocessor processing, output, and database upgrade module. The geometry information of a workpiece to be machined is put into NCTOP program. Then it generates NC program which is final output. NCTOP uses the machining dates from the data base.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the matching accuracy in identifying corresponding points in the area-based matching for the processing of stereo vision. For the selection of window size, a new method is proposed based on frequency domain analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through a series of experiments. To overcome disproportionate distortion in stereo image pair, a new matching method using the warped window is also proposed. In the algorithm, the window is warped according to imaging geometry. Experiments on a synthetic image show that the matching accuracy is improved by 14.1% and 4.2% over the rectangular window method and image warping method each.

  • For a Stationary moving-target. the design technique of guidance system for underwater vehicle with a seeker of st type is developed. Using perturbation theory, a new method which linearizes the nonlinear intercept geometry is proposed. On the basis of the linearized system modeling, LQ and PID design technique is used to determine the structure and gain of the guidance system. Some simulation results applied underwater engagement are represented to show that the proposed guidance law is superior to the other guidance laws as pursuit, Bang-Beng, PN APN.

  • A method for miniaturization of microstrip patch antenna without degrading its radiation characteristics is investigated. The ring geometry introduces additional parameters to the antenna that can be used to control its resonance frequency and bandwidth. For a single square ring increasing the size of patch decreases the resonance frequency and bandwidth. To match the antenna to a transmission line and also enhance its bandwidth. the square ring patch is stacked by a square ring patch. The computed results are compared with experiment and good agreement is obtained.

  • CFD simulation for Smart-UAV(TR-E2Sl) is performed to analyze its aerodynamic characteristics. Base geometry and several cases, decided by control surfaces being deflected, are simulated. To obtain the better lift characteristics, the elevator should be deflected between 10o and 20o with the incidence angle of the wing 1o.

Solution of Poisson Equation using Isogeometric Formulation

  • Isogeometric solution of Poisson equation is provided. NURBS (NonUniform B-spline Surface) is introduced to express both geometry of structure and unknown field of governing equation. The terms of stiffness matrix and load vector are consistently derived with very accurate geometric definition. The validity of the isogeometric formulation is demonstrated by using two numerical examples such as square plate and L-shape plate. From numerical results, the present solutions have a good agreement with analytical and finite element (FE) solutions with the use of a few cells in isogeometric analysis.

  • This paper presents a new analytic approach using tetrahedrons to determine the forward kinematics of the 3-6-type Stewart platform. By using of the tetrahedral geometry, this approach has the advantage of greatly reducing the complexity of formulation and the computational burden required by the conventional methods which have been solved the forward kinematics with three unknown angles. As a result, this approach allows a significant abbreviation in the formulations and provides an easier means of obtaining the solutions. The proposed method is well verified through a series of numerical simulation.

  • 로보트화된 좌표측정기에 사용됨에 따라, 직교 회귀가 이제는 단순히 흥미로운 수학문제로 그치지 않게 되었다. 특히, 공학 전공 학생을 대상으로 하는 기초 통계학 과목에서 간단히나마 다룰만한 문제가 되었다고 본다. 직교 회귀의 핵심 개념을 간략히 정리한다. 아울러 직교 회귀의 기하학적 구조를 공학 전공 학생들이 잘 알고 있는 역학적 개념으로 설명함으로써 학생들이 쉽게 이해하고 또한 사고의 폭을 넓히는데 도움이 되고자 한다.

  • 복잡한 제어가 필요한 설비의 운전 정보나 네트워크 연결 상태 또는 웹 문서간의 정보 등을 제한된 컴퓨터 화면에 효과적으로 배치하는 시각화 기법에 관한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 경우 한눈에 전체 정보의 계층 구조를 파악하도록 하는 환경을 제공하며, 사용자가 관심 있는 정보에 대해서는 전체 정보 계층 구조를 유지하면서 보다 상세히 그 내용을 보여주는 그래픽 기반의 사용자 인터페이스 판결의 개발이 필요하다. 이에 쌍곡선 기하학(Hyperbolic Geometry)을 기반으로 한 시각화기법으로 새로운 제어 환경을 구현하여 사용자의 편의를 도모하도록 한다.

Advances in Microplasma Technologies for Display Applications

  • A series of microcavity plasma devices having various electrode geometries were investigated for the display and lighting applications. Addressable, self-assembled Al/$Al_2O_3$ electrodes were fabricated in a thin, flexible single sheet of Al foil. And, enhanced luminance and efficient microplasmas are achieved by precise control of the cross-sectional geometry and surface morphology of the cavities within the microplasma devices. New microdischarge system fabricated in various substrates will be introduced.
