  • Due to the development and dissemination of modern technology, anyone can easily communicate using services such as social network service (SNS) through a personal computer (PC) or smartphone. The development of these technologies has caused many beneficial effects. At the same time, bad effects also occurred, one of which was the spam problem. Spam refers to unwanted or rejected information received by unspecified users. The continuous exposure of such information to service users creates inconvenience in the user's use of the service, and if filtering is not performed correctly, the quality of service deteriorates. Recently, spammers are creating more malicious spam by distorting the image of spam text so that optical character recognition (OCR)-based spam filters cannot easily detect it. Fortunately, the level of transformation of image spam circulated on social media is not serious yet. However, in the mail system, spammers (the person who sends spam) showed various modifications to the spam image for neutralizing OCR, and therefore, the same situation can happen with spam images on social media. Spammers have been shown to interfere with OCR reading through geometric transformations such as image distortion, noise addition, and blurring. Various techniques have been studied to filter image spam, but at the same time, methods of interfering with image spam identification using obfuscated images are also continuously developing. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based spam image detection model to improve the existing OCR-based spam image detection performance and compensate for vulnerabilities. The proposed model extracts text features and image features from the image using four sub-models. First, the OCR-based text model extracts the text-related features, whether the image contains spam words, and the word embedding vector from the input image. Then, the convolution neural network-based image model extracts image obfuscation and image feature vectors from the input image. The extracted feature is determined whether it is a spam image by the final spam image classifier. As a result of evaluating the F1-score of the proposed model, the performance was about 14 points higher than the OCR-based spam image detection performance.

  • This study presents the application of aerial photographs and KOMPSAT-1 Electro-Optical Camera(EOC) imagery in detecting the change of an urban area that has been rapidly growing. For the study, we used multi-time images which were acquired by two different sensors. For all of the images, the coordinate reference system and scale were first made identical through the 1st and 2nd geometric corrections and then image resampling were carried out to spatial resolution of 7m to detect changes under the same conditions. The Image Differencing was employed as a change detection technique. It was confirmed to be able to detect the changes of terrestrial surface like building, structure and road features from aerial photos and KOMPSAT EOC images with single band. The changes could be detected to some extent with the images acquired from different kinds of sensors as well as the same kinds of sensors.

  • new bearing concept, the wave journal bearing, has been developed to improve the static and dynamic performances of an air-lubricated hydrodynamic journal bearing. This concept features waves on bearing surface. In this study, we present the solution of the compressible Reynolds equation valid for arbitrary Knudsen numbers. Straight wave journal bearing is investigated numerically. The performances of straight wave bearing are compared to the plain journal bearing over relatively wide range of bearing number and eccentricity. The wave journal bearing offers better stability than the plain journal bearing under a13 bearing numbers covered in this study. The bearing load and stability characteristics are dependent on the geometric parameters such as the amplitude and the starting point of the wave relative to the applied load. Under the condition of Knudsen number)0.01, we can not ignore the effect of slip for journal bearing.

  • A general framework for the nonlinear geometric analysis of elastic space trusses is presented. Both total Lagrangian and finite incremental formulations are derived from the three key ingredients of statics, kinematics and constitutive law. Particular features of the general methodology include the preservation of static-kinematic duality through the concept of fictitious forces and deformations, and an exact description for arbitrarily large displacements, albeit small strain, that can be specialized to any order of geometrical nonlinearity. As for the numerical algorithm, we consider specifically the finite incremental case and suggest the use of a conventional, simple and flexible arc-length based method. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate and validate the accuracy of the approach.

  • Based on an investigation of Miao ethnic group costumes, this research focuses on redesigning and reinterpreting of the Miao costume. The results are summarized as follows. According to the constitution of the clothes, the decorative parts and the way people wear them, women's clothing can be divided into five categories: Sangseohyeong, Geomjungnamhyeong A, Geomjungnamhyeong B, Cheongeomjeonhyeong, Haenamhyeong. Miao consists of straight lines with creases for both skirts and trousers. With the excess part of the belt or apron, X-shape and H-shape are formed. There are three basic decorative patterns: geometric patterns, animal patterns and plant patterns. In addition, there are three color values: warm, cool and dark. Silver Jewelry plays such an important role in the Miao Costume that the process of the production is also very special for the Chinese national dress. According to the features of the five types of Miao, then redesign and re-interpreted of them.

  • A prestressed/precast concrete system was used to build the new Asian Olympic Stadium Project in Pusan, Korea. The stadium(mainly intended for cycle racing) is designed for the 2002 Asian Olympic Games and has a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators plus a few private suites. More than 1300 prestressed/precast components were used and they include single columns, primary beams, cantilever beams, double riser stands, and double tees. Especially, a total of 24 cantilever beams is used on the fourth story for the stands and double tees. These 8m long beams are post-tensioned to prevent cracking, to increase their durability and to serve serviceability by vibration. A cantilever section with cast-in-place topping is 800mm wide and 1500mm deep. Cantilever beams are connected to the column with the corbel by cast-in place concrete. Bonded post-tensioning tendons were assembled at the job site. Dead-end anchorages were installed in the end of cantilever beams and live-end anchorage is the opposite of them. This article presents the geometric layouts, design features and so on.

  • In this paper we suggest a development of surface defect inspection algorithms for cold mill strip using tree structure. The defects which exist in a surface of cold mill strip have a scattering or singular distribution. This paper consists of preprocessing, feature extraction and defect classification. By preprocessing, the binarized defect image is achieved. In this procedure, Top-hit transform, adaptive thresholding, thinning and noise rejection are used. Especially, Top-hit transform using local min/max operation diminishes the effect of bad lighting. In feature extraction, geometric, moment, co-occurrence matrix, histogram-ratio features are calculated. The histogram-ratio feature is taken from the gray-level image. For the defect classification, we suggest a tree structure of which nodes are multilayer neural network clasifiers. The proposed algorithm reduced error rate comparing to one stage structure.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for the self-localization of a mobile robot using one degree perspective Invariant(Cross Ratio). Most of conventional model-based self-localization methods have some problems that data structure building, map updating and matching processes are very complex. Use of a simple cross ratio can be effective to the above problems. The algorithm is based on two basic assumptions that the ground plane is flat and two locally parallel sloe-lines are available. Also it is assumed that an environmental map is available for matching between the scene and the model. To extract an accurate steering angle for a mobile robot, we take advantage of geometric features such as vanishing points. Feature points for cross ratio are extracted robustly using a vanishing point and intersection points between two locally parallel side-lines and vertical lines. Also the local position estimation problem has been treated when feature points exist less than 4points in the viewed scene. The robustness and feasibility of our algorithms have been demonstrated through real world experiments In Indoor environments using an indoor mobile robot, KASIRI-II(KAist Simple Roving Intelligence).

  • A three dimensional-two spatical dimensions plus time-image segmentation is widely used in a very low bit rate image sequence coding because it can solve the region correspondence problem. Mathematical morphology is a very efficient tool for the segmentation because it deals well with geometric features such as size, shape, contrast and connectivity. But if the motion in the image sequence is large in time axis, the conventional 3D morphological segmentation algorithm have difficulty in solving region correspondence problem. To alleviate this problem, we propose the hierarchical image sequence segmentation algorithm that uses the region motion information. Since the motion of a region in previous level affects that in current level uses the previous motion information to increase region correspondence. Simulation result shows improved performance for sequence frames with large motion.
