Key Elements of Generic Architecture in PLE Core Assets (제품계열공학 핵심자산의 범용 아키텍처 구성요소)

  • 제품 계열 공학(Product Line Engineering, PLE)는 패밀리 멤버들의 공통성과 가변성을 분석하여 만든 핵심 자산을 특화시켜 어플리케이션을 개발함으로써 재사용성과 이용가능성을 증대시키는 접근 방법이다. 핵심 자산은 제품 계열에 속하는 패밀리 멤버들이 어플리케이션을 만드는데 기초가 되는 모든 자산을 포함하며, 아키텍처, 컴포넌트 둥이 포함될 수 있다. 범용 아키텍처는 패밀리 멤버들이 공통적으로 사용할 수 있는 아키텍처로, 제품 계열에 속하는 제품들의 구조를 정의하고 컴포넌트의 인터페이스 명세를 제공하여 컴포넌트만큼 중요한 재사용 단위이다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 PLE 방법론에서 정의한 제품 계열 아키텍처와 일반 소프트웨어 아키텍처를 비교하여 범용 아키텍처에 포함되는 요소들을 선정하고, 메타 모델을 이용하여 범용 아키텍처 구성요소와 구성요소간 관계를 명확히 정의함으로써, 개념적인 아키텍처를 보다 실용적으로 설계하는데 도움이 되게 하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 RTOS 기반 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발에 적합한 모델기반 방법론을 제안하고 이와 함께 개발된 자동코드생성 도구를 기술한다. 현재까지 알려진 대표적인 모델기반 방법론으로는 OMG (Object Management Group)의 MDA (Model-Driven Architecture)가 있으며, MDA 에서는 EJB, 웹서비스,.NET, 그리고 CORBA 와 같은 미들웨어 플랫폼을 대상으로 하는 응용 소프트웨어의 개발을 지원한다. 하지만, 통상적인 임베디드 시스템은 실시간성에 대한 요구조건은 물론 성능과 자원활용에 있어 많은 제약을 가짐에 따라 상당수의 임베디드 시스템은 미들웨어를 사용하지 않고 RTOS 상에서 직접 수행되도록 개발되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 MDA 방법론을 확장하여 플랫폼 의존적인 모델 (PSM, Platform Specific Model) 단계에서 추상화된 RTOS 행위를 표현할 수 있도록 추상 RTOS API (Generic RTOS API)를 정의하고, 아울러 추상화된 RTOS 행위를 자동으로 변환하여 C 코드를 생성해주는 도구인 TransPI 를 함께 제시한다.

  • Video data occurred in multimedia documents consist of a large scale of irregular data including audio-visual, spatial-temporal, and semantic information. In general, it is difficult to grasp the exact meaning of such a video information because video data apparently consist of unmeaningful symbols and numerics. In order to relieve these difficulties, it is necessary to develop an integrated manager for complex structures of video data and provide users of video digital libraries with easy, systematic access mechanisms to video informations. This paper proposes a generic integrated video information model(GIVIM) based on an extended Dublin Core metadata system to effectively store and retrieve video documents in digital libraries. The GIVIM is an integrated mo이 of a video metadata model(VMN) and a video architecture information model(VAIM). We also present design and implementation results of a video document management system(VDMS) based on the GIVIM.

  • We propose a new Dynamic Multilayer Perceptorn(DMP) architecture for optimal model identification of complex and nonlinear system in this paper. The proposed DMP scheme is presented as the generic and advanced type based on the GMDH(Group Method of Data Handling) method for the limitation of GMDH under only two system input variables. It is worth stressing that the number of the layers and the nodes in each layer of the DMP are not predetermined, unlike in the case of the popular multilayer perceptron structure, but these are generated in a dynamic manner. The experimental part of the study comes with representative nonlinear static system. Comparative analysis is included and shows that a new DMP can produce the model with higher accuracy than previous other works.

Development and Testing of Satellite Operation System for Korea Multipurpose Satellite-I

  • The Satellite Operation System (SOS) has been developed for a low earth orbiting remote sensing satellite, Korea Multipurpose Satellite-I, to monitor and control the spacecraft as well as to perform the mission operation. SOS was designed to operate on UNIX in the HP workstations. In the design of SOS, flexibility, reliability, expandability and interoperability were the main objectives. In order to achieve these objectives, a CASE tool, a database management system, consultative committee for space data systems recommendation, and a real-time distributed processing middle-ware have been integrated into the system. A database driven structure was adopted as the baseline architecture for a generic machine-independent, mission specific database. Also a logical address based inter-process communication scheme was introduced for a distributed allocation of the network resources. Specifically, a hotstandby redundancy scheme was highlighted in the design seeking for higher system reliability and uninterrupted service required in a real-time fashion during the satellite passes. Through various tests, SOS had been verified its functional, performance, and inter-face requirements. Design, implementation, and testing of the SOS for KOMPSAT-I is presented in this paper.

차세대 전기통신망 및 서비스 플랫포옴 구축방안 -지능망과 TMN-

  • 통신망에 대한 고객의 요구는 음성이 대부분을 차지하고 기간통신망은 독점을 유지하였으나, 통신 모드(비음성, 데이터, 화상 등)에 대한 고객의 요구가 다양해지고 통신망은 개방과 경쟁이라는 새로운 위치에 놓이게 되었다. 따라서 이러한 변화에 대처하기 위하여 전세계적으로 차세대 통신망 및 서비스를 제공하기 위한 연구가 활발히 수행되어지고 있다. 이 가운데 가장 중요한 개념은 망요소(network element)를 기능화하고 서비스 빌딩블럭(generic service independent building block)의 집합에 의하여 다양한 미래 통신 서비스에 대한 유연하고(flexible), 일관성(uniform)있는 서비스 제공을 목표로 하는 지능망 구조(Intelligent Network Architecture)와 미래 통신망 및 서비스를 운용, 조절, 유지보수에 필요한 일련의 지원시스팀(support systems) 이상의 관리기능 영역을 제공하기 위한 ITU-T의 TMN(Telecommunication Management Network)이다. 본 연구는, 이 두 개념의 기본적 생각의 간결한 설명 후에, IN과 TMN의 공통점을 분석하고 일반적 통신망 환경에서 미래정보 네트워킹 구조를 위한 기초로써 제공되는 통합 망 및 서비스 관리에 대하여 가능한 통합분야를 명시할 것이다. 즉 지능망의 개념모형(INCM : In Conceptual Model)을 이용하여 TMN과의 상호 연계방안, 지능망 능력 증대 방안 그리고 ETSI 표준화 내용을 살펴봄으로써 향후 지능망 사업 및 통신망 관리 운용 시스팀 구축을 통한 차세대 전기통신망 및 서비스 플랫포옴 구축방안 연구에 도움을 주는 것을 목표로 하였다.

A Design Technique of Component Framework Based on Framework Reference Model

  • As CBD technologies and researches have been matured, component framework as a larger reuse unit than component is being introduced. Especially issues related with adaptation and integration of components in CBD are being raised as a new research topic. The component framework is given as a solution to resolve these issues. However, current approaches don't suggest a sound and comprehensive reference model and development process applying reference model. In order to develop practical and stable component framework, reference model and concrete guidelines are essential elements. In this paper, we propose a generic reference model integrating existing reference models and a design technique of component framework based on it. Especially, we propose concrete and pragmatic guidelines such as how to design component framework architecture's view and style, how to design commonality and variability of component framework, how to design macro workflows among components, and so on. We believe that the proposed reference model becomes basis for component framework development, and the proposed design technique will support reliable and effective development of the component framework.

Spectral density functions of wind pressures on various low building roof geometries

  • This paper describes in detail the features of an extensive study on Spectral Density Functions (SDF's) of wind pressures acting on several low building roof geometries carried out in a boundary layer wind tunnel. Various spectral characteristics of wind pressures on roofs with emphasis on derivation of suitable analytical representation of spectra and determination of characteristic spectral shapes are shown. Standard spectral shapes associated with various zones of each roof and their parameters are provided. The established spectral parameters can be used to generate synthetic spectra adequate for the simulation of wind pressure fluctuations on building surfaces in a generic fashion.

  • In this letter, we introduce a new middleware architecture and its generic application programming interface (API) (called the T-DMB MATE API) for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB). Middleware in T-DMB enables inter-operable applications to be downloaded from both broadcast and telecommunication networks in advance and to be executed in any type of T-DMB receiver. The middleware we introduce here is especially designed to support a proposed method for application provisions applied to a concept of application module appropriate to the service environment of T-DMB. We also verify the designed T-DMB MATE API through the implementation of the middleware and its application in a PC-based receiver.

Safety Levels Apportionment in Railway System

  • The creation of a single European rail transport market it is important to increase confidence between the actors on the market and between member states who shall ensure that railway safety is generally maintained and, where reasonably practicable, continuously improved. For this purpose the European railway safety directive introduces a mechanism to adopt a Common Safety Targets (CST) expressed in risk acceptance criteria for individuals and for society. This paper focuses on the apportionment of safety targets for European railway system. We develop a generic approach based on the Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), to analyse the safety of railway systems for a unified European network and to comply with the CSTs required by the European railway Safety Directive. We suggest to combine the FHA technique with the functional railway architecture to allocate the safety targets to the railway functions.
