  • Generative AI, especially conversational AI like ChatGPT, has recently gained traction as a technological alternative for automating customer service. However, there is still a lack of research on whether current generative AI technologies can effectively replace traditional human managers in customer service automation, and whether they are advantageous in some situations and disadvantageous in others, depending on the conditions and environment. To answer the question, "Can generative AI replace human managers in customer service activities?", this study conducted experiments and surveys on customer online reviews of a food delivery platform. We applied the perspective of the elaboration likelihood model to generate hypotheses about whether there is a difference between positive and negative online reviews, and analyzed whether the hypotheses were supported. The analysis results indicate that for positive reviews, generative AI can effectively replace human managers. However, for negative reviews, complete replacement is challenging, and human managerial intervention is considered more desirable. The results of this study can provide valuable practical insights for organizations looking to automate customer service using generative AI.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the customer experience of generative AI among office workers aged 30 to 40, investigating usability, usefulness, and affect, and understanding concerns and expectations. Design/Methodology/Approach This research used Q methodology to assess the customer experience of generative AI. Users are engaged in a problem-solving journey, and data is collected by having participants rank 36 statements based on usability, usefulness, and affect, referred to as the three goals of User Experience. Participants use a forced distribution table with a scale from -5 to +5 to indicate the subjective importance of each statement. The results identified four groups, reflecting different perspectives and attitudes toward generative AI. Findings Participants express overall comfort with generative AI, perceive AI as more knowledgeable in unfamiliar domains, but harbor doubts about AI's understanding. Disagreements emerge on AI replacing humans, the value of unique human roles, data confidentiality, fears of AI advancement, and emotional impacts. Identified four groups: Users who treat AI as a soulless assistant and are active in business use, Uncle users who want to use new technologies properly and are not afraid of technology, users who recognize the limits of AI despite its efficiency, and users who require strong verification in the future. It has the potential to guide future guidelines, ethical codes, and regulations for the appropriate use of AI. In addition, this approach lays the groundwork for future empirical analyses of generative AI.

  • This study analyzed the effectiveness of lessons using metaverses and generative AI for pre-religious teachers through a qualitative case study. Eight third-year students in the Department of Christian Education at A University in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, designed and conducted a project-based learning (PBL)-based class on 'e-Bible study material design' using metaverses and generative AI. The students analyzed the church school site, identified practical problems, and developed Bible study materials using generative AI to solve the problems. After storyboarding the Bible, they used generative AI to generate pictures, voices, and background music and implemented them into a digital Bible picture storybook and metaverse environment. To analyze the results of the study, we conducted an in-depth analysis of learners' reflection journals and interviews, and found that learning with generative AI and metaverse environments not only increased interest and immersion, but also showed positive changes in their ability to utilize generative AI and metaverse and their awareness of the need for AI convergence education. In addition, we confirmed the possibility of extending the learning experience beyond the classroom into everyday life through self-directed learning and collaborative problem-solving processes. However, the generalizability of the results is limited due to the limited time and number of participants in this study, but it suggests the possibility of education using generative AI and metaverses as an alternative education method in the era of great transformation.

  • Records management institutions in Korea generally face a situation where they lack the workforce to manage the vast amount of electronic records. If electronic records management tasks and archival information services can be automated and intelligentized, the workload can be reduced and the service satisfaction of users can be improved. Therefore, this study proposes to utilize "generative AI" technology in records management practice. To achieve this, the study first examined previous research that aimed to intelligently automate various tasks in the field of records management. The fundamental concepts of generative AI were subsequently outlined, and domestic cases of generative AI applications were investigated. Next, the scope of applying generative AI to the field of records management was defined, and specific utilization strategies were proposed based on this. Regarding the strategies, the effectiveness was verified by presenting results from applying commercial generative AI services or citing examples from other fields. Lastly, the benefits and implications of using generative AI technology in the field of records management, as well as limitations that must be addressed in advance, were presented. This study holds significance in that it identified tasks within the field of records management where generative AI technology can be integrated and proposed effective utilization strategies tailored to those tasks.

  • As generative artificial intelligence (AI) services become more diversified and widely used, attempts and discussions on their application in education have become active. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze general and work-related perceptions, utilization, and needs regarding generative AI in elementary and secondary education. A survey was conducted among teachers and staff in Chungcheongbuk-do, and 934 responses were analyzed. The main research results are as follows: First, their work-related use of generative AI was lower than their general use, and considering the periodic frequency of more than once a month, the rate was much lower. Second, the main expectation when using generative AI in work appears to be improved work efficiency. Third, regarding the use of generative AI for each task, differences in perception of its usefulness were noticeable depending on position and occupation. They generally responded positively to the usefulness of generative AI in processing documents. To facilitate the use of generative AI for work by elementary and secondary teachers and staff, it is necessary to create an environment that promotes its use while ensuring safety against potential side effects. Additionally, requirements and needs should be considered depending on the position and occupation.
