오리피스 유량계에서 게이지라인 누설에 의한 계량오차 (The Measurement Error owing to Leakage of Gaugeline in Orifice Flowmeter)

  • This study was experimentally performed in order to estimate the errors due to the leakage of transmitter gaugelines in the orifice flow meter for natural gas. It would be a serious problem in safety if a large quantity of leak was occurred at the tubes or fittings like valve. But in most cases the safety problems might be rarely happened because the gas leak detectors could be operated in advance and the various kinds of inspection would be also fulfilled periodically. If the leakage was occurred continuously with an undetectable amount at the gaugelines for measuring the pressure or the differential pressure(DP), the amount of leakage might be an error or an unaccounted flow(UAE). In addition if the measuring value of pressure or DP were affected by the leakage, it might also be a measurement error. The experiments were performed to estimate the amount of leakage and to check the DP changes if it exited. First, through the measurement of the air pressure changes in the airtight container connected to a transmitter with gaugelines as the time passed, the amount of leakage causing from the fittings of gaugelines was roughly estimated. As changing the leak position of the gaugeline, the leak was intentionally made to break out. The variance of DP was checked as controlling the extent of leakage and compared to no leak conditions. Consequently, under the normal maintenance conditions, the result represented that the amount of leakage causing from the gaugelines was insignificant and also the DP changes on leakage conditions were too small to cause the errors of measurements.

내경 4.3 mm와 6.4 mm관내 R-22와 R-407C의 증발 열전달과 압력강하에 관한 실험연구 (Experimental Study for Evaporation Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of R-22 and R-407C in an Inner Diameter of 4.3 mm and 6.4 mm)

  • 본 연구에서는 내경 4.3 mm와 6.4 mm의 수평동관내 R-22와 R-407C의 증발 열전달과 압력강하를 실험적으로 조사하였다. 냉매 순환루프의 주요구성품은 수액기, 압축기, 질량유량계, 응축기, 이중관식 증발기 (시험부)로 구성된다. 시험부는 내경 4.3 mm와 6.4mm의 평활 동관으로 이루어져 있다. 냉매질량유속은 $100\;kg/m^2s$에서 $300\;kg/m^2s$까지 변화시켰고, 증발기 냉매포화온도는 $5^{\circ}C$이다. R-22와 R-407C의 증발 열전달계수는 질량유속과 증기건도의 증가와 함께 따라 상승한다. 내경 4.3 mm와 6.4mm관내 R-22의 증발 열전달계수가 R-407C에 비해 각각 $7.3{\sim}47.1%$$5.68{\sim}46.6%$ 정도 높다.

고에너지 전자선을 조사한 피부의 세포막모델에서 공기 중의 O2-N2 혼합기체의 분리투과 특성 (Separation Permeation Characteristics of N2-O2 Gas in Air at Cell Membrane Model of Skin which Irradiated by High Energy Electron)

  • 본 논문에서는 고에너지 전자선(6MeV)을 조사한 피부의 세포막 모델에서 공기의 주요 구성성분인 $N_2-O_2$ 혼합기체가 압력차에 따른 투과도차의 변화를 나타내고 결국 $N_2-O_2$ 분리투과성의 변화로 나타내어 기체분자가 분리 전달되는 특성을 연구하였다. 이 실험에 사용한 재료로 피부의 세포막 모델은 polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS)분말을 polysulfone과 결합시킨 비다공성 복합막, 압축공기와 순도 99.9%인 산소, 질소기체통, 산소분석기(LC-700H, Japan), soap-bubble flow meter, wet-test meter, pressure regulator, back-pressure regulator, permeation cell, Linac 전자선 조사기 등을 사용하였다. 실험방법으로는 $N_2-O_2$ 기체투과 장치를 이용하여 피부세포막모델의 온도는 $36.5^{\circ}C$로 고정한 후에 기체의 온도도 $15^{\circ}C$로 고정하고 조작압력법위를 $1{\sim}6kg_f/cm^2$로 하며 각각 $1kg_f/cm^2$ 단위로 측정하였다. 방사선을 조사한 피부의 고분자막(세포막모델)에서 공기를 구성한 $N_2-O_2$ 혼합기체의 분자가 압력차에 따른 투과도차가 발생하여 피부세포에 비정상적으로 전달되는 과정을 실험을 한 결과 아래와 같은 결론을 추론하게 되었다. 피부의 고분자 막(세포막모델)에서 $N_2-O_2$ 혼합기체의 투과분리특성의 변화에 대하여 알아본 결과 방사선을 조사하지 않은 때 질소와 산소의 투과도 변화는 각각 $1.19{\times}10-4{\sim}2.43{\times}10^{-4}$$1.72{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}2.6{\times}10^{-4}[cm^3(STP)/cm^2{\cdot}sec{\cdot}cmHg]$이며 방사선조사로 질소와 산소의 투과도 변화는 각각 $0.19{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}0.56{\times}10^{-4}$$0.41{\times}10-4{\sim}0.76{\times}10^{-4}[cm^3(STP)/cm^2{\cdot}sec{\cdot}cmHg]$이며 4~10배 정도 낮아짐을 알 수가 있었고 방사선을 조사하지 않은 때 질소에 대한 산소의 이상분리인자 ${\alpha}^*$의 값은 1.32~0.42로 나타내었으며 방사선조사로 질소에 대한 산소의 이상분리인자 ${\alpha}^*$의 값은 0.237~0.125이며 4~5배 정도 낮아짐을 나타내었다. 또한, 압력차가 $1{\sim}6kg_f/cm^2$로 증가함에 따라서 작업변수인 cut가 0에 접근할수록 투과도상의 산소부화도는 증가하지만 반면에 압력비 Pr이 0에 가까워질수록 투과도상의 산소부화도는 방사선조사로 4~19배 정도 감소하였다. 방사선의 조사 유 무에 관계없이 압력차가 $1{\sim}6kg_f/cm^2$ 로 증가함에 따라서 질소, 산소 및 공기의 투과도는 증가하였지만 질소에 대한 산소의 선택성은 감소하였다.

음속 노즐의 임계 압력비에 대한 저 레이놀즈수의 영향 (Evaluation of Critical Pressure Ratios Sonic Nozzle at Low Reynolds Numbers)

  • A sonic nozzle is used as a reference flow meter in the area of gas flow rate measurement. The critical pressure ratio of sonic nozzle is an important factor in maintaining its operating condition. ISO9300 suggested the critical pressure ratio of sonic nozzle as a function of area ratio. In this study, 13 sonic nozzles were made by the design of ISC9300 with different half diffuser angles of 2。 to 8。 and throat diameters of 0.28 to 4.48 mm. The test results of half diffuser angles below 8。 ar quite similar to those of ISO9300. On the other hand, the critical pressure ratio for the nozzle of 8。 decreases by 5.5% in comparison with ISO9300. However, ISO9300 does not predict the critical pressure ratio at lower Reynolds numbers than 10(sup)5. Therefore, it is found that it is a better way for the flow of low Reynolds number to express the critical pressure ratio of sonic nozzle as a function of Reynolds number than area ratios. A correlation equation of critical pressure is introduced with uncertainty $\pm$3.2 % at 95% confidence level.

$CO_2$ 열펌프용 내부 열교환기의 냉방조건에서 열전달 및 압력 강하 특성에 대한 연구 (Study on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics of Internal Heat Exchanger for $CO_2$ Heat Pump under Cooling Condition)

  • In order to study the heat transfer and pressure drop of an internal heat exchanger for $CO_2$ heat pump under cooling condition, the experiment and numerical analysis were performed. Four kinds of internal heat exchangers with a coaxial tube type and a micro-channel tube type were used. The experimental apparatus consisted of a test section, a power supply, a heater, a chiller, a mass flow meter, a pump and a measurement system. The section-by-section method and Hardy-Cross method were used for the numerical analysis. The effects of the internal heat exchanger refrigerant flow rate, the length of the internal heat exchanger, the operating condition of the gas-cooler, the evaporator and the type of the internal heat exchangers were investigated. With increasing of the flow rate, the heat transfer rate increased about 25%. The heat transfer rate of the micro-channel tube type was higher about 100% than that of the coaxial tube type. With increasing of the length of the internal heat exchanger, the heat transfer rate increased about $20{\sim}50%$. The pressure drop of the low-side tube was larger compared with that of the high-side tube.

High-pressure rheology of polymer melts containing supercritical carbon dioxide

  • Supercritical carbon dioxide ($scCO_2$) has advantages of being incorporated in polymer with high solubility and of being recovered easily by depressurizing. $scCO_2$ reduces the viscosity of polymer melt and it is expected to be use as a plasticizing agent. In this work, we studied on the effect of $scCO_2$ on the rheological properties of polymer melts during extrusion process. Slit die attached to twin screw extruder was used to measure the viscosity of polymer melts plasticized by supercritical $CO_2$. A gas injection system was devised to accurately meter the supercritical $CO_2$ into the extruder barrel. Measurements of pressure drop within the die, confirmed the presence of a one phase mixture and a fully developed flow during the measurements. The viscosity measurement of polypropylene was performed at experimental conditions of various temperatures, pressures and $CO_2$ concentrations. We observed that melt viscosity of polymer was dramatically reduced by $CO_2$ addition.

수평관과 헬리컬 코일관내 이산화탄소의 냉각 열전달 특성 (Cooling Heat Transfer Characteristics of Carbon Dioxide in a Horizontal and Helically Coiled Tube)

  • The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ (R-744) in a horizontal and helically coiled tube was investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater, evaporator and gas cooler (test section). The test section consists of a horizontal stainless steel tube and hellically coiled copper tube of 4.57 and 7.75 mm. The experiments were conducted at saturation temperature of 100 to $20^{\circ}C$, and mass flux of 200 to $500kg/m^2s$. The test results showed the variation of the heat transfer coefficient tended to decrease as cooling pressure of $CO_2$ increased. The heat transfer coefficient with respect to mass flux increased as mass flux increased. The experimental results were also compared with the existing correlations for the supercritical heat transfer coefficient, which generally underpredicted the measured data. However, the experimental data showed a relatively good agreement with the correlations of Pitla et al. except for the pseudo critical temperature.

오일 드레인과 엔진경사각도간의 상관관계 (A Study on the Correlation of Oil Drain and Engine Tilting Angle)

  • Parametric studies based on analysis of lubrication system of a four cylinder gasoline engine are illustrated system in this paper. In development process of engine lubrication system, parts of failure cases are related with oil pull over and oil churning phenomenon. The crankcase & head system pressure by oil churning phenomenon are gradual increased. It cause oil pull over phenomenon at engine breather line and oil over-consumption. In order to improve oil reduction and oil pull over phenomenon are also considered in the developing state. For this study, the characteristics of engine lubrication system are measured at various tilting angle and drain hole sizes. In addition, the oil flow & oil quantity are tested by blow by meter and catch jar. Results are presented to stabilize the oil supply system at sever driving condition. The data from present study are available for the engine lubrication system.

Uncertainty Analysis and Improvement of an Altitude TestFacility for Small Jet Engines

  • The verification and improvement of the measurement uncertainty have beenperformed in the altitude test facility for small gas turbine engines, which was built atthe Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in October 1999. This test is performedwith a single spool turbojet engine at several flight conditions. This paper discussesthe evaluation and validation process for the measurement uncertainty improvements usedin the altitude test facility. The evaluation process, defined as tests before the facilitymodification, shows that the major contnbutors to the measurement uncertainty are theflow meter discharge coefficient, the inlet static and total pressures, the cell pressureand the fuel flow rate. The measurement uncertainty is focused on the primary parametersof the engine performance such as airflow rate, thrust and specific fuel consumption (SFC).The validation process, defined as tests after the facility modification, shows that themeasurement uncertainty, in seal level condition, is tmproved to the acceptable level throughthe facility modification. In altitude test conditions, the measurement uncertainties arenot improved as much as the uncertainty in sea level condition.

브레이징식 동세관내 CO2의 냉각 열전달 특성 (Cooling Heat Transfer Characteristics of CO2 in a Brazing Type Small Diameter Copper Tube)

  • The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter tube was investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a $CO_2$ compressor, a mass flow meter, an evaporator and a brazing type small diameter tube as a test section. The mass flux of $CO_2$ is $400{\sim}1600$ [kg/$m^2s$], the mass flowrate of coolant were varied from 0.15 to 0.3 [kg/s], and the cooling pressure of gas cooler were from 8 to 10 [MPa]. The cooling heat transfer coefficients of the brazing type small diameter copper tube is about $4{\sim}11.7%$ higher than that of the conventional type small diameter copper tube. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, correlations failed to predict the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube. therefore, it is necessary to develope reliable and accurate predictions determining the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube.
