During the last few years, nitric oxide(NO) as a potent macrophage-derived effector molecule against a variety of bacteria, parasites, and tumors has received increasing attention. More recent studies suggest that NO also has antiviral effects in both murine and human cells. The objective of the current study was to determine the effect of Yongdamsagantang(YST) on the production of NO. Stimulation of mouse peritoneal macrophages with YST after the treatment of recombinant $interferon-{\gammer}(rlFN-{\gammer})$ resulted in the increased NO synthesis. YST had no effect on NO synthesis by itself. When YST was used in combination with $rIFN-{\gammer}$, there was a marked cooperative induction of NO synthesis in a dose-dependent manner. The optimal effect of YST on NO synthesis was shown 6 hour after treatment with $rIFN-{\gammer}$. This increase in NO synthesis was reflected as increased amount of inducible NO synthase(iNOS) protein. NO production was inhibited by $N^G-monomethyl-L-arginine$. The increased production of NO from $rIFN-{\gammer}$ plus YST-stimulated cells was decreased by the treatment with staurosporin. In addition, synergy between $rIFN-{\gammer}$ and YST was mainly dependent on YST-induced tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}(TNF-{\alpha})$ secretion. These results suggest that the capacity of YST to increase NO production from $rIFN-{\alpha}-primed$ mouse peritoneal macrophages is the result of YST-induced $TNF-{\alpha}$ secretion.

The fashion in the virtual world is emerging as a new genre. Gammer in virtual community shares the avatars and space for their activities and for flourishing their virtual lives, they start to demand indispensable daily items. The gammer's demands lead to the concept of second life in the virtual world which was introduced in 2003. The trading business system is realized at the virtual world with various daily items, developed by individual programmers, through the virtual money, which may converted into real money. Particularly, fashion industry's inherent nature of snagging on-line trading is no more, now, set to ready in the virtual world let alone various daily virtual items developed by individual programmers. The purpose of this study is, focused on the virtual second life, to introduce the model of fashion business in virtual world and overall informations regarding second life business systems so as to provide the fundamental data for opening the web.3.0 era. Further various fashion items in the virtual world, developed by individual programers, will be another boost for shaping another virtual fashion business genre.

This study was carried out to prove the anti-allergic effect of SPS-GM, which is gained by controlled Cytokines making all the difference to Th2 cell development. The results were obtained as follows : 1. From the SPS-GM treatment about BMC cell, in case of the IL-4, an important factor of the Th2 cell development, SPS-GM didn't show considerable effect. 2. The INF-${\gammer}$, mutual Cytokines of IL-4, was increased more than twice. 3. Histamine from the Master cell and Nitric oxide from indisposition response were a little decreased. According to the above results, it is suggested that SPS-GM has anti-allergic effect.

Clinical studies were carried out 83 cases of patients with colorectal cancer treated by Hangamdan(抗癌丹) from January 1th 1998 to September 30th 2000. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Distribution of those attached by colorectal cancer, by sex, showed that Male is more then Female, by age, showed that the number of fifties is majority. 2. Distribution of diagnostic stage, in descending order; stage III(53%, top), stage IV(45.8%). 3. The effects of maintenance and improvement in the symptoms with traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) and combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(92.1%) were observed. The effects of the symptoms were as follows: diarrhea(37.3%), abdominal pain (25.3%), general body weakness(22.9%), nausea(20.5%) and etc. in orders. 4. Analysis of hematology attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and increasing of WBC(89.9%), RBC(74.7%), Hgb(81.1%), Platelet(92.4%) were observed. After taken Hangamdan, the safety of the liver and kidney were as follows; maintenance and decreasing of AST(85.9%), ALT(94.8%), GTP(87.5%), Creatinine(90.9%) were observed. 5. of IL-12 and $IFN-\gammer$ attached by colorectal cancer, increasing of IL-12(53.3%), IFN-{\gammer}(80%)$) were observed. 6. Analysis of QOL attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(89.6%), traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) were observed. 7. Analysis of survival in patients with IV stage of colorectal cancer, above 7 months(18.4%), 12 months(65.8%). 8. Analysis of antitumor effects, maintenance of traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) and maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(80.5%) were observed. Analysis of tumor marker attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and decreasing of CEA(78.8%) were observed. 9. Analysis of curative valuation, maintenance and improvement of traditional oriental therapy(83.3%), combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(72.7%) were observed. From the above results, it is suggested that Hangamdan has significant effects of antitumor and immune activity, also could be usefully applied for colorectal cancer patients by combination with western therapy or alone.

Macrophage play a major role in host defence against infection and tumor development and this activity is regulated through the production of several mediators. In particular, the production of NO by macrophages mediates killing or growth inhibition of tumor cells, bacteria, fungi and parasites. However, over-expression of iNOS by various stimuli, resulting in over-production of NO, contributes to the pathogenesis of septic shock and some inflammator and auto-immune disease. Therefore, it would be valuable to develop potent and selective inhibitors of for potential therapeutic use. Thus the agent that supprees the expression of iNOS mRNA or enzyme protein will be usefull for the prevention of various diseases. We are intersted in identifying selective inhibitiors of iNOS which might be useful intreating inflammatory human diseases. In summary, we have demenstrated that scopoletin, isolated from Seman Armenicae and Radix Trichosanthis the production of NO induced by $IFN-\gammer$ plus LPS in RAW 264.7 macrophages, The mechanism for the inhibition of NO production was due to suppression of the expression of iNOS mRNA or enzyme protein.

Pressure sore is an area of ulceration and necrosis of the skin and underlying tissues usually occuring over the bony prominences of the body after prolonged or often repeated pressure. We reviewed and summarized the published articles and treatise on the treatment of pressure sore. The results were as follows : 1. Pressure sore occur due to prolonged or often repeated pressure. So it is better than decubitus ulcer that is called pressure sore. 2. The most common lesions of pressure sore are sacrum, ischial tuberosity, greater trochanter. 3. The cause of pressure sore are change of comprehension. urine, moisture, change of the ability of activity and exercise, shearing force. 4. The elements to influence on wound healing are collagen accumulation velocity, nutrition condition, Vitamine C, copper, iron. oxygen pressure, steroids, cell-toxic drug, radiation. 5. Non-operative treatments are managements of skin such as avoiding consistant pressure, dressing, preventing moisture, understanding patient and protecter, preventing spasm, improvement of systemic nutrition condition. 6. Operative treatements are debridement, suture, skin transplantation, muscle flap and musculaocutaneous flap surgery. Recently V-${\Gammer}$ advancement surgery in use of muscle and musculocutaneous flap is generally maded. 7. Complications of post-operation are wound rupture, infection, disappearance of transmitted skin, necrosis of flaps.

Objectives : To estimate the value of the Gyungokgo as therapeutic agent preventing against aging with an analysis of the ingredients and the bio-activating effects by enzymologic methods. Methods : A quantitative analysis of general ingredients' of the Gyungokgo's extract was done first. The effects on electronic donating ability, SOD-like activity, nitric oxide inhibition, xanthine oxidase inhibition, whitening effect have been investigated in the physiological activity measurement of function experiment. Results : The contained hydrolyzed amino acid is Valine, Aspartic acid, Arginine, Isoleucine and the contained free amino acid is Arginine, Phenylalanine, Valine, Glycine. The derivative of free amino acid is Phosphoserine, Carnocine, ${\gammer}$-Aminoisobutyric acid. And the Gyungokgo contains 14 species of minerals, K>Na>Ca>Mg>Fe>Al>Mn. Then, to assure of the Gyungokgo's anti-oxidation, these following subjects -polyphenol, electronic donating ability, SOD-like activity, nitric oxide inhibition, xanthine oxidase inhibition, tyrosinase inhibation- are analyzed and show high activity especially the most in chloroform extracts, (every ingredients written by the order of high amount) Conclusions : The Gyungokgo contains many materials functioning as anti-oxidation, neurotransmitter, anti-fatigue and immune agent.

Objectives : Trimellitic anhydride (TMA), a sensitizer that induces occupational asthma and atopic dermatitis, is widely used industrially to make epoxy and alkyd resins, plasticizers, high temperature polymer, and surfactants. The aim of this study was to investigative the effects of aqueous extracts of Lonicera japonica Flower(LJFAE) on TMA-induced contact hypersensitivity (CHS) in Balb/c mice. Methods : The dried flowers of L. japonica were extracted with distilled water at $100^{\circ}C$ for 7 h. The extract was freeze-dried following filteration through 0.45 ${\mu}m$ filter. Mice were orally administrated with or without LJFE of a different doses(25-100 mg/kg) for 28 days. In the challenge period, mice were externally applied at difference doses of LJFAE one time per day 30 min before TMA treatment. We examined the effects of LJFAE on the the serum levels of IgE and prostagladin E2 (PGE2), the Thl/Th2 cytokine production of spleen cells, ear swelling responses, and the leukocyte infiltration induced by TMA. Results : The orally and externally administration of LJFAE dose-dependently reduced the serum levels of IgE and PGE2 production as well as ear swelling responses and leukocyte infiltration in TMA-induced Balb/c mice. Furthermore, the levels of Thl (TNF-${\alpha}$, IFN-${\gammer}$, IL-2)/Th2 (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13) cytokine production from spleen cells stimulated with anti-CD3 and CD28 mAbs was markedly suppressed by the orally and externally treatment with LJFAE in a concentration dependent manner. Conclusions : These results suggest that LJFAE suppresses the inflammatory mediators and regulates the Thl/Th2 cytokines. Therefore, these properties may contribute to the strong anti-CHS response effect of LJFAE.

Action games exhibit all the specific constellation of masochism, such as disavowal, suspense, waiting, fetishism, and fantasy. These characteristics of action games can be analyzed with respect to masochism. This study conducted an analysis excluding sadism as much as possible, as sadism is a result of etiological misconception as opposed to masochism. However, comparative analysis is included in the study so that action games are not seen as demonstrating sadism. Games create a space for virtual interaction for main agents by connecting gamer-existence and game-character in the framework of a contract. The interaction of visual tactility within this space creates a system of difference in pleasure. Masochism enables one to attain pleasure in a world created himself or herself using fetishism in contractual relationships such as the ones exhibited in games. This shows that action games and masochism are mutually related. This paper analyzed the ontology of action games using actual examples of action games. The paper concluded that action games lead to the fulfillment of masochistic pleasure.
