  • The purpose of this study is to classify the types of internet personal game broadcasting in China and to examine viewers' preferences type of it. By targeting top 100 creators of Player-Unknown's Battleground streaming as a personal game broadcaster with over 100,000 followers, the game types were classified based on the purpose and characteristic of game broadcasting such as game play, entertainment, and audience participation. As a result, the type of internet personal game broadcasting in China was classified into progamer type, cooperative playing type, storytelling type, and reciprocal entertainment type. The progamer type was 38% and it was the highest proportion of Player-Unknown's Battlegrounds streaming. Next came storytelling type, cooperative playing type and reciprocal entertainment type with 25%, 19% and 18% respectively. In sum, progamer type and storytelling type which shows relatively low real - time communication with audiences accounted for a high percentage of 63%. This implies that the characteristics of the broadcast media focused on 'showing' have influenced the production and planning of personal game broad casting. The interactive characteristics of the platform of personal game broad casting can be expected to gradually change the conventional customs of broadcasting media.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of abuse, neglect, and excessive interference of parents on adolescent aggression in the longitudinal context and examine the moderating effect of playing computer game theoretically guided by the flow theory. 2,351 adolescents from the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey was analyzed using Linear Mixed Effects Regression procedures. Primary findings are as follows: (1) adolescents with higher level of abuse or excessive interference showed higher level of aggression. (2) the aggression level of adolescents with higher level of abuse or excessive interference consistently decreased over time. (3) the link between abuse and aggression was significantly moderated by playing computer game. In conclusion, the negative effect of the abuse on adolescent aggression could be significantly decreased by playing computer game.

  • The objective of he study is to record the real conditions along with the soccer ball that is, each player's ball keeping time, the number football keeping, accuracy of passing to other player, direction, etc., on a real-time basis, measure them in numbers and get necessary analyzed output as much as one needs. The study consists of the following stages: (1) Record the data by drawing through Visual Interface on a real-time basis; (2) Graphic windows to display the recorded data item by item in graphic; (3) Form windows to display the individual or team scores anytime when needed; (4) Windows to display the analyzed data in visualized form. The effect of the study is threefold: (1) It inputs all the game-related data on a real-time basis, which was impossible before and shows analyzed contents during the game enabling each tea manager o use; (2) In cse of TV broadcasting or newspaper articles, it explains objectively the situations of he game to the TV viewers or readers; (3) After the game, it provides importance information on each team's playing ability and individual player's technical improvement through data analysis.

  • This study has focused to identify what kinds of psychological state are most closely related in players experiencing flow while playing game. This study constructs a conceptual model of flow for game players by conducting a survey to 303 online game players. The results indicate that the state of flow was reached when players may gain opportunities for having high self-efficacy as they accomplished tasks. At the same time, it indicate that the higher cognitive performance and self-esteem was able to enhance the higher flow experience while playing a game. This study provides both practical and theoretical implications on how to increase players' flow by providing critical psychological states in the game.

  • In this paper, we refer to positive effect and negative effect of game. And we inquire the recent trend of edutainment that emphasizes charm of game and educational effect at the same time. Because the simulation game and the role-playing game have strong toxication, the limitation of computer use is essential. Therefore, we present dynamic computer using-time control system for prevention of game toxicaton and for activity of educational contents. The method considered in this paper increases computer using-time n proportion to using of educational contents. So it lead user of computer to use educational contents voluntarily.

  • To apply the player's experiences to the design process of the game levels set by the developer, gameplay behavior analysis is needed. The player's behavior which is different by how much he got experiences from the play has generally been studied by one computational approach based on numerical data and the other HCI(human-computer interaction) approach through heuristic analysis. For the analysis of the player's behavior with the level design patterns in FPS(first-person shooter) games, in this paper those methods are used to code 12 main types of action, which in turn is simply categorized into 5 kinds of behavior pattern. Along with it, an optimized visualization is proposed to intuitively compare the flow of behavior pattern with the time of playing game.

  • The purpose of the study was the defining of gambling game using effect to adolescent's' morality. We conducted the survey on 1,331 students about adolescents' favorite game and made two groups, gambling and non-gambling game, and we checked the effects of game using time with personal psychological and social factors on the morality that was surveyed 6 months later. The study showed gambling game using time showed negative effect the morality but non-gambling game using time didn't show any relationship with morality. This means preferring gambling cause decrease of the morality, not game contents playing. And we proposed the follow-up study through the result.

  • An intelligent game has been studied for some time, and the main purpose of the study was to win against human by enhancing game skills. But some commercial games rather focused on adaptation of the user's behavior in order to bring interests on the games. In this study, we are suggesting an adaptive reinforcement learning algorithm, which focuses on the adaptation of user behavior. We have designed and developed the Othello game, which provides large state spaces. The evaluation of the experiment was done by playing two reinforcement learning algorithms against Min-Max algorithm individually. And the results show that our approach is playing more improved learning rate, than the previous reinforcement learning algorithm.

  • The use of the A* for the path search of the agent in the game map gives the computational overhead in real time game processing. To solve this problem, the route table was presented for the 2D game This route table is made in the game development phase and utilized in game playing. The route table designed for 2D game is extended for 3D game in this paper. But the memory space is required too much. This Problem can also be solved using the data compression by skipping the duplicated route table.

  • This study is an investigation of children's video and computer games usage. The respondents included 286 third and fourth grade children, of whom 152 were boys and 134 were girls. The participants were selected from a pair of elementary schools in Seoul. The instruments used consisted of children's self-reported computer game use and their evaluations of the video and computer games. I employed frequencies, percentiles, means, Chi-squares, 1-tests, one-way ANOVA, and the Scheffe Test. Ninety-five percent of the children interviewed reported having played video and computer games. Among these children, most reported that they played the games 2 to 3 times per week for 112 to 1 hour each time. The most common reasons given for playing was 'fun'. The most popularly played games included themes of action, adventure, violence, and competition. There was a significant gender difference in playing and usage. Boys played games longer than the girls. Boys played the games with their friends while the girls played the games with their siblings. Children who played these games longer perceived themselves to be faster, more attentive, and more stable than children who played for a shorter period of time.
