The study concerns a design procedure of rule-based systems. The proposed rule-based fuzzy modeling implements system structure and parameter identification in the efficient from of "IF..., THEN..." statements, and exploits the theory of system optimization and fuzzy implication rules. The method for rule-based fuzzy modeling concerns the from of the conclusion part of the the rules that can be constant. Both triangular and Gaussian-like membership function are studied. The optimization hinges on an autotuning algorithm that covers as a modified constrained optimization method known as a complex method. The study introduces a weighted performance index (objective function) that helps achieve a sound balance between the quality of results produced for the training and testing set. This methodology sheds light on the role and impact of different parameters of the model on its performance. The study is illustrated with the aid of two representative numerical examples.

In this paper we suggest an optimal design method of Fuzzy-Neural Networks(FNN) model for complex and nonlinear systems. The FNNs use the simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and Error Back Propagation Algorithm as learning rule. And we use a HCM(Hard C-Means) Clustering Algorithm to find initial parameters of the membership function. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions learning rates and momentum weighted value is proposed to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. According to selection and adjustment of a weighting factor of an aggregate objective function which depends on the number of data and a certain degree of nonlinearity (distribution of I/O data we show that it is available and effective to design and optimal FNN model structure with a mutual balance and dependency between approximation and generalization abilities. This methodology sheds light on the role and impact of different parameters of the model on its performance (especially the mapping and predicting capabilities of the rule based computing). To evaluate the performance of the proposed model we use the time series data for gas furnace the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.
The purpose of this study is to propose a method to evaluate task complexity using CIFs(Complexity Influencing Factors). We developed a method that CIFs can be used in the evaluation of task complexity using fuzzy linguistic approach. That is, a fuzzy linguistic multi-criteria method to assess task complexity in a specific task situation was proposed. The CIFs luting was assessed in linguistic terms, which are described by fuzzy numbers with triangular and trapezoidal membership function. A fuzzy weighted average algorithm, based on the extension principle, was employed to aggregate these fuzzy numbers. Finally, the method was validated by experimental approach. In the result, it was validated that TCIM(Tink Complexity Index Method) is an efficient method to evaluate task complexity because the correlation coefficient between task performance time and TCI(Task Complexity Index) was 0.699.
This paper presents a methodology to forecast KOSPI index by extracting fuzzy rules based on the neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions (NEWFM) and the minimized number of input features using the distributed non-overlap area measurement method. NEWFM classifies upward and downward cases of KOSPI using the recent 32 days of CPPn,m (Current Price Position of day n for n-1 to n-m days) of KOSPI. The five most important input features among CPPn,m and 38 wavelet transformed coefficients produced by the recent 32 days of CPPn,m are selected by the non-overlap area distribution measurement method. For the data sets, from 1991 to 1998, the proposed method shows that the average of forecast rate is 67.62%.
In Information age, The academic liberal art computer education course set up goals to promote computer literacy and develop the ability to cope with changes in information society and improve productivity and national competitiveness. In this paper, we analyze on discovering of decisive variable and satisfaction index to have a influence on computer education on university students. As a preprocessing course, the proposed method selects optimum variable using correlation based feature selection(CFS) of machine learning tool based on Java and we calculate weighted value for each variable and then, we generate the optimal variable using weighted value based on fuzzy decision making method. we proposed Fuzzy decision making method in analysis of the academic liberal art computer education satisfaction index data and checked the accuracy of the satisfaction evaluation by using recall and precision.
This paper suggest an optimal identification method to complex and nonlinear system modeling that is based on Fuzzy-Neural Network(FNN). The FNN modeling implements parameter identification using HCM algorithm and optimal identification algorithm structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems, we use a HCM Clustering Algorithm to find initial parameters of membership function. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using optimal identification algorithm. The proposed optimal identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Also, an aggregate objective function(performance index) with weighted value is proposed to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace, the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.

In this paper, we suggest a optimal design method of Fuzzy-Neural Networks model for complex and nonlinear systems. FNNs have the stucture of fusion of both fuzzy inference with linguistic variables and Neural Networks. The network structure uses the simpified inference as fuzzy inference system and the BP algorithm as learning procedure. And we use a clustering algorithm to find initial parameters of membership function. The parameters such as membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are easily adjusted using the genetic algorithms. Also, the performance index with weighted value is introduced to achieve a meaningful balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance index, we use the time series data for gas furnace and the sewage treatment process.

In this paper, we are proposed optimization method of fuzzy model in order to complex and nonlinear system. In the fuzzy modeling, a premise identification is very important to describe the charateristics of a given unknown system. Then, the proposed fuzzy model implements system structure and parameter identification, using the fuzzy inference method and genetic algorithms. Inference method for fuzzy model presented in our paper include the simplified inference and linear inference. Time series data for gas furance and sewage treatment process are used to evaluate the performance of the proposed model. Also, the performance index with weighted value is proposed to achieve a balance between the results of performance for the training and testing data.
Accidental oil and gas leak is a critical concern for the offshore industry because it can lead to severe consequences and as a result, it is imperative to evaluate the probabilities of occurrence of the consequences of the leakage in order to assess the risk. Event Tree Analysis (ETA) is a technique to identify the consequences that can result from the occurrence of a hazardous event. The probability of occurrence of the consequences is evaluated by the ETA, based on the failure probabilities of the sequential events. Conventional ETA deals with events with crisp failure probabilities. In offshore applications, it is often difficult to arrive at a single probability measure due to lack of data or imprecision in data. In such a scenario, fuzzy set theory can be applied to handle imprecision and data uncertainty. This paper presents fuzzy ETA (FETA) methodology to compute the probability of the outcomes initiated due to oil/gas leak in an actual offshore-onshore installation. Post FETA, sensitivity analysis by Fuzzy Weighted Index (FWI) method is performed to find the event that has the maximum contribution to the severe sequences. It is found that events of 'ignition', spreading of fire to 'equipment' and 'other areas' are the highest contributors to the severe consequences, followed by failure of 'leak detection' and 'fire detection' and 'fire water not being effective'. It is also found that the frequency of severe consequences that are catastrophic in nature obtained by ETA is one order less than that obtained by FETA, thereby implying that in ETA, the uncertainty does not propagate through the event tree. The ranking of severe sequences based on their probability, however, are identical in both ETA and FETA.
In this note, we extends some of the results of Liu [Fuzzy Sets and systems 157 (2006) 869-878]. This extension consists of a simple proof involving weighted functions and their preference index. We also give an elementary simple proof of the maximum entropy weighting function problem with a given preference index value without using any advanced theory like variational principles or without using Lagrangian multiplier methods.
